Felt the need to reblog this and say personally as a black Beetlejuice fan I do not care if they make Beej black or even a bipoc (i cannot speak for anyone else especially non black poc) nor do I think it inherently bad/racist obviously you need to be careful how you draw/betray him especially if you are white.

If you're making more than just Beej a poc in your art/betrayal and properly representing poc through them to I don't see it as an issue because you arent ONLY making the morally questionable antagonist anti hero/villain a bipoc. Im a black individual who likes the character and can relate to him and I personally portray him as black partially for that reason and I portray other characters like lydia, barbara, often chuck, and other as bipoc as well the same goes for other artists.

Again I cannot speak for you if you are a bipoc or other bipoc. On their feelings on this but I think there is more nuance toward the situation not to mention while it was morally reprehensible sor Beej to try and marry lydia many of us (not all) who have drawn black beetlejuice do not ship him with her and usually redeem him as more of a anti hero like the cartoon, and often do not think he has any romantic interest in lydia.

Obviously if any one who wants to portray any of the characters especially Beej because he does need extra care when it comes to representation talk to actual bipoc first, do research, look up resources, ect. And if you really aren't sure then just like leave bipoc to draw him that way I guess.

If the babes are willing to chase off two of their most popular artists, arguably two of the most popular ones in the fandom, in people in some cases were their friends. Apparently send harassment,threats, insults to these people they seemingly liked before and after they left tumblr and explained why they were leaving, then pester these people to return then maaaayybbee the group that has claimed (babes)to be mostly accepting, kind, welcoming, friendly, ect. As opposed to "antis" throughout this discourse and in the fandom arent as great as they make themselves out to be especially when the source of a lot of the toxicity on their side is still supported by them and  helped chase these people off by other members.

I mean I thought babes Didn't harass people, or send threats, I was under the impression y'all were so close and friendly what happened?

Oh wait I know the same thing I've predicted for months now that others can tell y'all I've been saying. You followed the worst people on your side without question or criticism and allowed them to control your group. Got on yall' s high horse because you thought only antis were bad, and they were the only ones who did or support this stuff, Almost completely ignoring the toxicity y'all held till it blew up in your face and destroyed a big part of your community.

It's also interesting to think hmm if they're willing to do that to their own then maybe babes are willing to to it to "anti's" and neutrals as well. People have already shown some babes have lied, gaslit, over exaggerated the truth (lying lite), and even have sent threats, and harassment. On occasion which they routinely deny. As a certain babe said, drawn your own conclusion.

I knew babes would eventually go after musicals babes, then neutrals because they arent support of enough of babes apparently, now babes who arent as edgy as they are, or agree with everything they say. Which is another thing they said was a problem with antis, they go after neutrals who aren't "anti" enough, and attack anyone who disagrees with them. But it seems like they're just projecting the toxicity in their community to the other side surprise surprise.

I think the pièce de résistance to this is the falling put started or finally blew up because apparently a certain babe said something racist or related to that and got mad when other babes including a babe of color opposed her , shocking!/s

So something I've been saying for a long ass time:

No group is perfect, bad and good exist on every side, no group in a monolith. You can be an anti, neutral, proship(babe) and not follow everything people on your side say. Being on either side doesn't automatically make you a bad person, don't believe everything people on your side say, be willing to listen to the other side

And honestly if you really cling to the narrative that all antis are bad abusers out to censor media and automatically attack people while babes are all friendly innocent kind people who accept all your ships and ideas or vice versa, as well as support people on your side who are obviously toxic, and listen to what they say about the other side without question that's pretty sad and pathetic.

Y'all listen to all these "former antis" well speaking as an actual former proshipper I didn't just leave the community because of the shipping specifically it was because if sh*t/people like this.

as some of you have maybe noticed i answered a lot of asks tonight and posted a very long essay from my drafts

i wanted to make sure everything was cleaned up and gone because i will be leaving this blog 

im tired and do not wish to continue 

i know i am leaving things in capable hands and i did have fun for awhile doing this but it became to much

i stopped drawing and i stopped caring about myself which is not great my health is not going to come second behind an anonymous troll blog

but i want to make it clear that im not leaving because of the beetlebabe shippers i am leaving because i am tired of trying to please everyone when its impossible to do so and i am leaving because i want to be myself again

honestly the babe shippers as stupid and awful and annoying as they were, were a cakewalk compared to some of the inhouse drama, and thats something the babes definitely have on us 

theyre stupid but they are stupid together

i will miss the fun but i will not miss having to read raes shitty posts or nastis bad takes and i will happily never have to read about smol lydias therapist partner ever again thank god and hopefully ill never have to look at whatever suz is passing off as art any time soon

dont blame yourselves any of you including the people i mentioned before you folks had nothing to do with my departure i am leaving as an act of self preservation

Thank you all for the support and the laughs over the last few months.  No, I will not be dropping any other socials or anything and I do not plan on making a super-secret-super-cool comeback.  This is it.  I’m going to move forward and I know I’m leaving things in good hands.  But also if you ever think ‘wow this is really taking a toll on me’ then please, stop.  It’s not worth it.  You’re worth more than internet bullfuckery.  Anyway.  It’s going to be really hard getting back into using punctuation and capitalization, but i’ll get there.  Love you guys.
