I am planning on making Innsmouth for RPGs, in Lego and off-brands.
For future roleplaying purposes among other things, I am planning to build Innsmouth from Lovecraft's story The Shadow over Innsmouth in Lego and any off-brand stuff. That would also include it's citizens. Among other things.
I would love to get help with thoughts. Suggestions, recommendations, and various other things. General brainstorming.
I do not want to make it as big as I have seen maps of it be, because that wouldn't fit inside my living room. XP However, I am planning on having either 3 or 4 districts.
One relatively "normal" district that's run down and feeling a bit eerie and like something is wrong. Probably looking like Newburyport in the 1920s-1930s since that is what Lovecraft based it on.
One religious district with a lot of Gothic architecture. The church would be here, as well as the graveyard, and perhaps some hidden dungeon. I was also pondering about having an old asylum there that is repurposed into a hospital.
The third district would be the Harbor area, and also be the oldest district. It would resemble Fishing Hamlet from Bloodborne. Perhaps also a little bit of Venice in a weird way. I was even thinking about having a creepy mysterious gondolier guy there. Maybe not even a Deep One, but some other thing?
The fourth district I am still pondering about whether I should have or not would be the human district. It would be filled with overly paranoid violent xenophobic hillbillies who do not trust anyone. But again not sure if I should include this?
The overall general color scheme would be a mix of stone gray, wood brown, moss green, and black. Same goes for the citizens.
Speaking of which I of course plan on having Deep Ones. Of various stages in their development. And of course, recognizable characters. I was thinking it would be set some time after the story The Shadow over Innsmouth, so the main character Robert Olmstead would also appear I thought. Joe Sargent as well, with the bus station.
And I was thinking there would be conflicts between Deep Ones who religiously follow and worship Dagon, and those who don't.
I was also thinking that maybe in the outskirts of the town, there would be some woods where you can encounter ghouls.
And you know, maybe implement some other neat Lovecraftian stuff. Such as Shoggoth, perhaps.
Any thoughts and ideas and suggestions and recommendations, as well as questions, are welcome. Feel free to either leave a comment here or send me a direct message.

Is anyone here at all interested in discussing the Peter Pan story and it's various adaptations? I have always felt conflicted on it.
I love various aspects of the 1953 animated Disney classic, the 1991 Hook movie, as well as the 2003 Peter Pan movie. I feel like if you took elements of all 3, you could make the perfect Peter Pan movie to me.
What do you guys think who read this?
