She’s not happy to learn that her daughter is dating a Yuk. Warnings: Fantastic racism, OC POV, unhealthy coping mechanisms (Nereida has Issues). Notes: Post-canon work; contains spoilers for everything. This fic introduces Nereida, my OC for Aelia’s mother, and some backstory to explain why she isn’t present during the series. While I haven’t sketched out her design yet, she’s based on a luna moth (though with a sea green colouring rather than the lime green typical of the species). Her nicknames for Fulgor and Aelia come from the translation of their names–fulgor is Latin for lightning, brightness, or flash; while Aelia’s name may derive from the Greek aella, meaning storm or whirlwind. (Nereida’s own name is taken from the Greek nereid, or sea nymph.)

This scene was originally supposed to be part of an as-yet-unfinished one-shot called Bad Medicine, which would show how Acylius managed to talk the Yuks into using Joyce medicine, but it was difficult to transition from the flirting to the actual plot. So it became this!

Fan-art of an obscure show that I watched as an obscure regional dub as a child? 

Yep. UK dub Insektors.

Queen Catheter(Katheter?)/Bakrakra and her son Prince Maximilian/Alycius! They’re both pretty clearly devil flower mantises (right down the the thin curly antenna on females only). Fun fact though they both use the nymph and subadult colours! I like to imagine that if they were weird space-biotech-touched like the colourful protags, they’d take on the adult palette! Although Max’s blue wings in that one episode may mean I am full of LIES…….

Also where are the queen’s wings I demand an explanation give them back. What’s up with her in general though hah.
