Sad to see the project on hold - out of curiosity, how many interest check results did you get and what was your goal?

If the mods are already set on not continuing that's totally fine, zines are a big responsibility and you need to have at least some community backing, but I noticed you didn't tag any event accounts on tumblr and didn't do any Discord/Instagram promotion, which is where a lot of people get their zine news from these days since the sharing sites on Twitter have gotten so busy they are basically unnavigable. If you didn't meet your IC goal by a small margin, you might want to still consider it, since you probably didn't reach a lot of people (which isn't a criticism btw, there are so many share sites and trackers and whatnot it can be really overwhelming to remember each and every one, coming from a fellow zine mod!).

Anyway best of luck with however you continue your plans or start new projects instead 💕

We received 88 responses. Our goal was 100, so we were close! We did tag events accounts on a couple of our tumblr posts, but either the accounts are inactive or they didn't see our tag! In our experience, though, Tumblr is never the best place for zines (neither is Instagram). We also did promote our project in several zine Discord servers.

Twitter remains the best place for zines, and tagging the big zine accounts there did little for us.

All in all, this project simply failed to gain the traction it needed. These things happen! We don't doubt that this is a zine that people would like to see brought to life, but without the momentum to get the ball rolling, we don't want to get anyone's hopes up and then go forward with a project that can't be the best it could be.
