“It’s basically like… licking someone else’s donut,” Louis said. “Trying to claim something—or someone—that belongs to someone else.”
Pran held up his shaker like a stop sign. “I’m noting but choosing to ignore the connotation that I’m a donut. For now. So, it wasn’t really about me? It’s about… Pat? Or you guys?”
“I made the team!” Pran was suddenly several feet higher, scooped into his boyfriend's arms and spun around like a tornado, lifted and twirled effortlessly like he wasn’t a fully grown man.
“Pat!” Pran exclaimed, clinging to Pat with every part of his body he could, the world whirling around him. He reserved one hand for swatting at Pat’s shoulder. “What are you doing? Congratulations, but put me down!”
Pat stopped spinning and let Pran fall halfway, grinning at Pran’s accompanying very manly shriek at the sudden movement. “You want down? Are you sure, baby?”
Pran yelled - just a vocalization of his pure frustration but undeniable affection for the insufferable man holding him. He broke out of Pat’s hold and stormed away. “Forget it! I’ll be in my mom’s study, actually doing what we came here to do!”
“Sweetheart, don’t be like that - ”
“If you call me one more pet name - ”
“Ooo… Threaten me again.”
Chapter 17 includes my favorite Bad Buddy scene of all time - the staircase confession. I didn't change much about it because I think it's basically perfect as-is. Hope you enjoy this teaser :) Read the whole work here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/36178243/chapters/90182398
Fighting my way to the end! Next chapter is my favorite scene in all of Bad Buddy... But in this one, Wai gets his comeuppance and we learn a little more about werewolf culture.
"Pran was coming to really enjoy having the two women over. They clearly didn’t give a fuck about him and Pat dating (Pran suspected she’d been angling for this for years) and were nauseating enough with each other that they didn’t mind when Pat was particularly insufferable."
