To kick off this new art blog (and stretch my terribly underused imagination), I decided to do this Environment Drawing Challenge that I found! This is the result of prompt #1: Waterfall. Lots of experimentation going on here; so far it’s been a lot of fun!

came across your life stream and the way you draw just... fascinating, not mention the complete art

Howdy! I get a lot of my photoshop brushes from this blog! I don’t remember which packs I downloaded because I spent an entire weekend just setting up a main brush set by picking through the ones I liked, but anything that looks like it could create concept art is something you can bet I dipped my fingers into. There are also quite a few unique brushes that I’ve made that I use with photoshop.

I also bought one of Krabat’s gumroad packs and use their brushes from time to time, especially for hair, and then I use bits and pieces of all of Kyle’s brush packs.

Finally, for most of my sketching, inking, and comic work, I use a few brushes from DA, Frenden’s inkers pack, and then a bunch of my own brushes I’ve modified here and there that I plan on making brush packs of.

Environment drawing challenge

Couldn’t find an environment drawing challenge, so made my own.

A little (and optional!) twist: when the date is an odd number, you need to use limited palette (of your choice)

Noah stood in the doorway to his room. 

His skin was pale as parchment and his eyes shadowed and unspecific, as they always were after dark. There was the ubiquitous smudge on his face, only now, it looked like dirt, or blood, or possibly like a hollow, his bones crushed beneath his skin…

“He’s dead,” Gansey said. His arms were tight over his chest. “You’re really dead, aren’t you?”

Noah’s voice was plaintive. “I told you.”

…SO I STARTED READING THE RAVEN CYCLE

and I had already been spoiled about Noah beforehand but this scene still broke me. I love one (1) ghost boy.

Still working on figuring out the theme/layout of this blog, but before I do anything else, I wanted to get my most recent oc piece on here. 

In an effort to continue, well, putting more effort into my art, I turned what was originally going to be a quick sketch of my oc Skylar into a fully rendered piece! It’s definitely not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with it overall, especially since I haven’t drawn him in literally two years apparently, lol yikes. 

Also, for anyone who submitted an oc question, I’m still working on answering those!
