i love when old hyperfixations get sparked again because then i get a rush of dopamine from the hyperfixation part but also another from the fact that i get to re-enjoy something that caused me so much joy in the past. im sappy but it's nice ok. i like liking things.

My current hyperfixation is the “Harmony in Color” parade from Disneyland Tokyo because the soundtrack is an amazing mix of Disney songs and Zootopia and Big Hero 6 have their own floats 🦊❤️🥰

I’ve ordered some Zootopia merch from Shanghai Disney so I have stuff to wear at Walt Disney World in April because there is no Zootopia merch in WDW or UK or literally anywhere and I need to show my love for this film somehow 😭

I bought “The Art of Zootopia”book on eBay. The irony is I owned this book 7 years ago when I was first obsessed with it, and stupidly donated it when I was “over” it.

Lesson for life; hyperfixations can return, so keep all the stuff!!

I keep going back and forth on what my favourite scene is of Elemental. The hot air balloon ride, the crying games, at the beach…but I think it’s got to be Wade taking Ember to see the Vivisteria and their first touch. It’s such a wonderful few minutes of seeing Ember experience pure joy and elation, all because Wade listened to her and knew what she needed. He didn’t push, he just encouraged her to take a step out of her comfort zone and what happened was magic.

Goals for 2024:

1. Keep hyperfixiating on random shit because who cares it makes you happy!

2. Don’t let yourself think you are a bad person. Sure you may be odd or weird or different but that doesn’t mean you’re bad.

3. Write more fanfic, because it makes you happy. Stop those voices telling you are a bad writer and shouldn’t write.

I don’t think I’ve said this on here but the #1 reason I love Elemental is the soundtrack. Thomas Newman created a beautiful score to accompany the film.

Started writing some Zootopia fanfic, here’s some draft dialog:

“Carrots, what are those in your hand?”

“Oh, my note cards! I don’t want to miss anything important in my speech and I’m a little nervous so…”

“Speech? You’re talking to seven year olds about road safety!”

“I know! I just don’t wanna mess it up!”

“Part of me wants to find it endearing how much effort you put into literally everything you do. Alas, that’s being overridden by my desire to do this”

Nick swiped the cards from Judy’s paw, folded them into two and placed them in his back trouser pocket.

“Look, magic! I’ve made them disappear”

“Nick, give me them back!” Judy attempted to lunge towards him, but was stopped by his much larger and stronger arms.

“Now, now, let’s not set a bad example in front of the Junior Ranger Scouts” Nick put the now infuriated rabbit back in her spot.

“I believe stealing someone’s notes would be classified as ‘setting a bad example’ too, wouldn’t you?” Judy glanced over her shoulder to the group of mammals “especially from their Scout leader”

Nick’s ears flattened, a slight grumble escaping his lips.
