i really just clocked in for my yapping shift at the rambling factory huh but since the ds story takes place like,,,, 1920s? 1930s? if they left the constant and returned to either a. the time they left, i.e time didnt pass while they were gone b. to the present i.e time passed in the constant passed in the real world how would everyone find eachother, do you think? maybe through cellphones, since a few people knew a few others like we know webbers father and wagstaff were in cahoots and so were wendy and maxwell since theyre,,,,,, family. - 🌿

Good question! I prefer to think that a little time passed in the real world, maybe a few years,but not enough to be take them to today. That would be very sad because that means all their loved ones would be dead, and I prefer a happy ending for them lol

Now, about them returning, there's two possibilities: If they leave through the portal, they could "spawn" all together in the same location, so they wouldn't get separated, the real challenge would be to go back to their homes lol

The second possibility is that they would return to the same place they were when they got abducted, that way they would get separated, and it would be difficult to find each other 🥲

The answer would be Maxwell, since he was the one that kidnapped most of them, he would have some little memory of where they are, and he could try to travel and locate them. (He would try to find Wes first for obvious reasons lol ❤️ also he would know the exact location where Wendy lives because he knows where his brother lives.)

i can't post images as anon so imma have to be public but i'm the real listener yap about maxwes as much as you want (plus i wanna learn more about the characters since i only know about maxwell and wes in terms of what they can do in game, not really much else like teamwork n stuff. (this actually applies to all but 1 dst character))

Yayyy I'm allowed to ramble!!!

If you're not familiar with the game's lore, I suggest to look at the character's animated shorts in Klei's official YouTube channel, and also to read the character's summaries in the Compendium menu. Maxwell's lore is much more complex though, because he was the main antagonist of the first game, so for him, I suggest you look at Don't Starve wiki pages of William Carter's puzzles, of Maxwell (NPC) and Maxwell (playable character) to learn about his story!

But basically, Maxwell is the former villain of the series, and he was responsible for the kidnapping of (almost) every survivor, so, a lot of characters have a bit of a grudge against him for putting them in that situation, Wes is one of the few exceptions:

These are my personal headcannons now (not official information): Wes would try to befriend Maxwell, as he's one of the few survivors who don't really hate him. Wes would be one of his first actual friends in the Constant, and their relationship could develop from here... Since Maxwell spent a long time alone in the Constant, he's probably in need of company (even if it's from Wes). Also, Wes seems to have a special need of cheering others up, he would see Maxwell being grumpy and mad all the time and see it as his personal challenge to make him happy (until he starts to develop feelings for him too 😳).
