Connecticut Family Found Dead at Rhode Island Gas Station, Daughter Missing
Tumblr media
JAMESTOWN, R.I. (AP) — A family of four were found dead in a gas station parking lot Saturday morning, authorities say.
Jamestown Police Lt. Dan Zucker says that a man, a woman and two young boys were found inside the blue Chrysler minivan parked outside the Cumberland Farms Gas Station, when an employee coming to open the gas station noticed the van’s passenger side door open and a man lying motionless on the ground.
“He had this grotesque look on his face, as if he’d died of fright,” Zucker said.
The man was lying face down next to the gas station pump. A woman and two children were found inside the car, with their seatbelts still buckled. There were no signs of obvious trauma, and the police are still investigating the cause of death, Zucker said.
On Tuesday, the Newport County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Patrick Sadler, 44; Laura Sadler, 42; Cooper Sadler, 11; and Samson Sadler, 4, all residents of Weston, C.T. The family had been on their way to meet relatives for a family trip.
The family’s eldest daughter, M̳͓̞̮͝à̭d̤̙̥̪͇i̯̬̥̲͖s̩̥͇̦̳o̢͕n͙̮͙̬ͅ ҉̗̝̩̝̭̫S̗͞a̸d̡̤͓͙̪͔͈͇l̶e̩̭̦͝r̺̬̩̟̞͕͈, 14, was missing from the vehicle. While police has suspected a kidnapping based on initial observations, they have reason to believe M̡̘̻̼̩̦̩͓aḓ̱͇í̘̝s̨̟̱̭̰̥ͅo͈͈͓̘͙̱̬n͍ voluntarily left the vehicle. A shoe believed to belong to ͞S̺a̶͉̰̲̠̖̝d̡͎͖̲̭̝l͕ͅḛ̰͉̺̩͠ͅͅr͙̤̜̺͖̕ was found at the intersection of Watson and Pemberton, a block away from the gas station.
A candlelight vigil will be held in Weston tonight in honor of the Sadlers, and friends of the family have created a Facebook page dedicated to finding ̙͖͔͝ͅt͖̮̺̟̣͚ͅẖ̰͓e̝̪̩̺̘ ̡͓̙̖mi̵͕̮͕͙̲s̥͙̯s̺̩̙̥̥̤̥i̬̭͉͍͝ͅn̸̥̪̯g͚ g͎̮̤i͈r͉͍͇̦̣̪͇͢l҉̪̘̖.

Bianca Lebron was only 10 years old when she vanished on November 7th, 2001. She was last seen in front of the elementary school she attended in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was 8:30 in the morning and class was about to begin; however Bianca informed her friends and her teacher that she would not be actually attending class that day. She told them that instead, she was going shopping with her uncle. Bianca asked her friends if they wanted to join, but they declined. Shortly thereafter, an older model brown/tan van pulled up in front of their school. Bianca’s friends watched and she got inside the car and it drove off. Bianca has never been seen or heard from again.
When Bianca did not return home from school that afternoon, her mother simply thought she had gone to a friend’s house. As hours passed, Bianca’s mother grew increasingly worried and ended up calling the police at 8:30pm that evening. Bianca’s family soon learned that Bianca never attended school that day. Investigators quickly located the friends who witnessed her getting into the van that morning. They told investigators that they did not interfere when Bianca got into the van because they thought the driver was Bianca’s uncle. Her family members told investigators that Bianca does not have an uncle; nor do any of her relatives drive the van that her friends said she left in. It became immediately clear that Bianca had been abducted. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male around 20 to 30 yrs old, 5"8 to 5"11 with an average build, black curly hair, long sideburns and a beard.
Months later, in April 2002, police identified a person of interest: 20 year-old Jason Lara. Jason matched the description of the suspect, and one of his friends owned a van similar to the one Bianca was seen getting into on the day of her abduction. Additionally, Bianca’s loved ones have stated that Jason was Bianca’s “secret boyfriend.” Bianca had apparently told her friends that she had a crush on an older guy named Jason. Bianca’s family members said that the two had been caught kissing in the past as well. The two were frequently around each other prior to Bianca’s disappearance; as Bianca’s great uncle was in a relationship with Jason’s mother. Due to all of this, investigators believed they had their prime suspect. The only problem was, they couldn’t locate him—Jason had left Bridgeport a month after Bianca’s abduction.
Over a year later, in November 2003, Jason finally contacted Bridgeport police and denied any involvement in Bianca’s disappearance. Investigators traced his call to Fort Myers, Florida. As they headed there to find him, they also learned that Jason was now using the last name Gonzalez instead of Lara. Despite never legally changing his name, Jason used the last name Gonzalez on a fingerprint card. Due to this, police were able to charge him with second-degree forgery. Investigators decided to pursue these charges as they hoped that they could transfer him back to Bridgeport following his arrest to question him about Bianca’s case. When investigators were finally able to question him, Jason was apparently not very cooperative. Although Jason was already guilty in the public eye, investigators eventually were able to confirm that he had an alibi at the time of Bianca’s abduction. After that, he was no longer considered a suspect.
Ever since Jason was cleared, there has been very little information released about the investigation into Bianca’s disappearance. The school from which Bianca disappeared enforced stricter attendance-taking policies after her abduction, and the teacher who allowed her to leave was suspended without leave. In 2008, the city reached a settlement to pay the Lebron family $750,000 after they filed a lawsuit claiming Bianca’s teacher let her leave without asking Bianca about the “uncle.”
Bianca remains missing today. The FBI is investigating her case. If you have any information that could lead to Bianca’s whereabouts, please submit and anonymous tip here.

Brookelyn Farthing (18) has been missing from Berea, Kentucky since June 22nd, 2013. On the night prior to her disappearance, Brookelyn attended a party with her cousin and sister. Early into the night, her cousin and sister decided to leave the party early, and Brookelyn arranged to get a ride home from a friend later. However, Brookelyn and said friend apparently got into an argument, and the friend left without her. Brookelyn then caught a ride with a male acquaintance, and the two went to his house. While there, Brookelyn texted several different people asking them to come pick her up. Her ex-fiance said he would pick her up after he got off work that morning, to which Brookelyn replied, “please hurry, I’m scared.”
Around 5:30am, her ex-fiance received another text from Brookelyn’s phone, stating “nevermind, I’m okay. I am going to a party in Rockcastle County.” As a result, the ex-fiance never went to pick Brookelyn up and she never returned home after that. The male acquaintance who gave Brookelyn a ride to his house allegedly left his home early that morning to go move some horses in a nearby field. He claims that he returned to his house around 7am to find the couch where Brookelyn was sitting on fire, and Brookelyn was gone. However, her purse and some pieces of her clothing were left behind. The fire was deemed “suspicious” by investigators.
Police believe that Brookelyn was taken against her will. They also believe that the final text message from Brookelyn’s phone about the party in Rockcastle County was actually sent by somebody else. Despite extensive searches, no trace of Brookelyn has been found. Her case remains open and active.
If you have any information about Brookelyn or her whereabouts, please report it here.

15 year-old Baleigh Bashaw (pictured left) was brutally murdered inside her own home May 7th, 2018. That day began as a typical day for the teenager; she went to school that morning and then returned to her Salt Lake City, Utah home around 3pm. Upon Baleigh’s return home, she called her mother at work to check-in with her. At some point during that phone conversation, Baleigh was attacked as her mother listened. Baleigh’s frantic mother then called a neighbor, who went to the home and found Baleigh dead. The attacker had already fled the scene.
Baleigh’s mother immediately had a gut feeling about the killer’s identity: 24 year-old Shaun French (pictured right). Shaun had lived in the home with Baleigh and her mother for six months during the previous year, until Baleigh’s mother kicked him out in July 2017. Baleigh and Shaun still kept in touch after this, but Baleigh’s mother was unaware of the extent of their relationship until May 2nd, 2018—just 5 days before Baleigh was murdered. That day, Baleigh confessed to her mother that she had been in a sexual relationship with Shaun that began when she was 14 years old. Baleigh had recently ended the relationship, and Shaun was threatening to send her nude photographs to her mother and to post them on social media. In fact, as Baleigh and her mother were having this conversation, Baleigh’s mother received a nude picture of her daughter from a social media account that she did not recognize. The mother and daughter then decided to contact police and to secure a restraining order against Shaun.
The following day, on May 3rd, 2018, police located the people behind the social media account who sent the explicit photos. Two people were involved, who told police that they had created the social media account at Shaun’s request and then had given him the password. One of the associates told police that Shaun was obsessed with Baleigh and wanted to marry her. Police also contacted Shaun that day, and he became aware that he was likely to get in trouble for statutory rape.
From there, the situation escalated to murder. Shaun and a male friend spent the days of May 6th and 7th in a park near Baleigh’s home in Salt Lake City. The male friend would later tell police that he dropped Shaun off at Baleigh’s house on the 7th, and when Shaun returned, he was covered in blood and said he had to leave the state because he had killed a girl while she was talking on the phone. He allegedly told his friend, “I damn near cut her head off.” Police ultimately located Shaun and his male friend on May 11th, 2018 in Colorado. After that, the friend told police his version of events and led them to a dumpster where they had discarded Shaun’s knife and bloody clothes.
Shaun was extradited back to Utah and charged with aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and sexual exploitation. No bail was set and he remains behind bars. A court hearing date for his initial appearance has yet to be set.
