hiatus notice!

It's been a long time!! We are both well, but life has been collectively kicking both our asses a little bit, and the prospect of picking up and running the blog as consistently as we used to is feeling kind of daunting as a result. So we're going to step back for a little while and work on some other stuff while we clear our heads, and come back later ready to continue.

(how much later? unsure! But hopefully not long, we still both care a lot about the blog and its story. This isn't the last you'll see of it by a long shot :))

Additionally, both mods have both moved main blogs over the past few months- you can now find us instead at @alien-shmalien and @creaturelytracker.

#Hi its me! mod dox here #I wanna say that Im really sorry for the sudden disappearance of this blog #i promise we dont want to drop it (or at least. i dont want to) #we havent been back for 2 major reasons: #1. ive been Very burnt out. do yall have any custom legendaries you can talk about?

This is our custom legendary known as Pantheon, and specifically our resident Misfit! She runs the Misfit Guild, and is one of the few still living legendaries, as well as being wildly known as the source of all the rampant eevees in the world!

Her guild is known for being one that's rather safe, even the lair itself seems pretty tame for most of it's depths, and Misfit will gladly help any Mon seeking her guidance. Though, it's not entirely sunshine and rainbows- getting Too deep into the lair produces incredibly strange and rather malicious feral pokemon, and they regularly claw their way up to the surface and into the guild itself.

Xerneas lore mayhaps?

Xerneas is the patron of the Guild of Life, one of two powerful Guilds built around the Aura Lair; however, relations with the neighbouring Guild of Destruction are poor and a war has been raging in the area for years. Due to the unusual existence of one of its resident Legendaries, the lair is constantly out of balance and on the verge of dungeonhood.

The Guild's current master, an elderly Gardevoir named Madame, certainly looks the part- but in reality is not Xerneas's "true" reincarnate, possessing only a small amount of the legendary's power, their ability. That title instead belongs to a relatively new appearance, a young Sandshrew called Laurel only a few years old, discovered by the Guildmaster on an excursion not long ago and swiftly removed from a dangerous living arrangement. Raising a child in a warzone, however, isn't exactly much safer; instead, she was brought to an allied guild closer to her birthplace, where Madame's intention is to allow her to grow up and grow stronger in relative safety before having to deal with the tumultuous conflict back home.

what abt zacian?

Sticking to information we already (mostly) know through the blog to avoid massive spoilers for this one! But if you'd like to know more about them personally from the other blog characters, there's several ask hints up already for when the hiatus ends.

Zacian's lair makes up most of the vast forest in the middle of the continent known simply as the Weald, which houses the Guild of Heroes. The legendary themself is given the title of "King", though this authority is more traditional than anything and only applies within its own borders; their iconic blade is normally enshrined in the Guild, with whom they are known to live and work closely to protect their land.

Little is known so far about the current Zacian, Procyon, except for the troubles left in their wake. Shortly before they were due to be crowned as King themself, both they and their weapon disappeared from the Guild overnight, causing the lair to rapidly destabilize and start turning back into a Dungeon. Their current whereabouts are unknown, though Caspar and Sprite are hot on their trail.

Suicune?

This is Danube! They're one of the rare instances of a still living legendary- and as a roaming legendary, they don't really have a guild! However, as a person, they are Co-Guildmaster of the Floating Trading Guild, and have friends in almost all guilds due to their roaming nature! And as you can see, they're friends with someone we'll be meeting very soon...

👑 Kubfu/Urshifu?

Lore-wise, mythical Pokemon have reincarnates same as any legendary, except their "whole being" isn't what gets reborn- only fragments of their powers and abilities, scattered across several "lesser" reincarnates. So there's likely a few 'mons across the world reborn from Kubfu/Urshifu, and carry their traits! We just don't have any information on them planned out yet to share :(

And a slight fun fact for you, because of how Lairs work here, we decided to shuffle around what Pokemon count as legendaries and mythicals in a few cases- Urshifu is one of them! It's classified as Mythical in the world of the blog.

What's a piece of worldbuilding for your blog(s) that you've scrapped?

hmm.. Well, the world this blog chapter is set in was populated by humans before Pokemon took over at some point in its history. Originally they were wiped out in their modern age, like how they are in the anime at this current time, but we decided it would likely be better to instead have the time period at the extinction of humans be the same as Legends Arceus! It gives us some room to wiggle around with pokemon that would ordinarily be extinct, and avoid issues with some later story beats! So while there are still human ruins and artifacts, theres no huge city ruins or technology left around to juggle- this lets us be more 'fantasy' rather than "apocalyptic", ya know?

Legendary Pokémon are an important part of world building, considering all of the lore about their role in the lives of Pokémon. So, I decided to make my own ask game for specifically that. As a fun Munday thing!

For this ask game, you get to ask about the legendary Pokémon of my world. You’ll need to say the name of the legendary Pokémon and use one of the symbols below.

Regrettably, the blog will be on hiatus for the month of july while the mods are busy mauling the shit out of each other and everyone else participating in Art Fight!
