Thoughts on King of Sloth:

If you're someone who has read Ana Huang books before, you don't need to pay a whole lot of attention to the plot since it's almost exactly the same in every book.

Sloth is no different. You have your rich guy (Xavier), your ambitious girl (Sloane), the Initial Hatred, The Agreement to get along for mutual benefit and eventual falling for each other by opening up about their respective shitty family trauma, and finally The Big, Bad Fight :(

The characters, however, stand out and are unique and interesting. They're humane and relatable, and even charming. It's clear that these books are focusing more on characters rather than just the steam and romance which is a breath of fresh air in the genre tbh.

However, stories start to feel a bit stale when you kow exactly what's going to happen. Hoping to get a new plotline for the next book in the series: King of Envy.

Overall, Sloth was definitely an improvement from Greed. Not a bad read for a night in (took me 6 hours) and delivers on the trope it promised.

I know a lot of people picture Thalia Grace as tall because she’s the daughter of Zeus, but her being short is far too much funnier to me.

Give me Thalia being a tiny, electric ball of rage.

Give me Thalia wearing 4 inch platform boots… just to be 5’5.

Give me Thalia doing a quadruple take at how big Annabeth had gotten after she came out of the tree.

Give me Percy using her head as an armrest one day, and getting zapped all the way across camp.

Give me Thalia being a whole foot shorter than her little brother Jason. (He wouldn’t say anything about it, he’s a sweetheart)

it's so weird for me, having basically grown up without any internet access, to see posts about the PJO fandom and edits from the show. I remember finding The Lightning Theif in my second or third grade classroom library and immediately being sucked in. I read the first series more times than I could count before I got ahold of the second series, but PJ&tO was my entire childhood. The series literally changed my life, I can barely remember the time before i read it. Now there's a show, and more and more books, but PJ&tO will always be closest to my heart.
