i work at a homeschooling co-op once a week working with elementary school kids. it operates inside of like a children’s center in a church so sometimes the room layout changes or the chruch gets new furniture, and yesterday there was this big blue rug and the kids were going crazy for it. my oldest group, 6-8th grade, just 3 girls, walk in, immediately take their shoes off and start messing around on the rug. i quickly text my friend about how they are doing gymnastics, i look over again and one of the girls is doing quadrobics. i text my friend again, “nvm they are doing quadrobics, im calling it now this girl is a therian” literally 5 minutes later she calls herself a therian.

i love watching weirdgirls develop in real time it’s beautiful

sorry for no posts in a while, been dealing with wifi and family issues. meanwhile, have the revamped cover page, thumbnails and concept art for the pre-death ekubo comic i am now calling "Hidden Ojisama".

in community college, i am doing well with assignment s right now but i seriously have nightmares regularly about failing an assignment. if something happens where an assignment is suddenly closed on me i will have a panic attack because of how horrible public school was.

adults are always talking about how “kids will do anything to get out of school” and okay, first of all that’s not true, but I think we really need to ask why that idea holds so much sway.

children’s brains are hard-wired to take in new information and acquire new skills. consider, for a moment, just how thoroughly our society had to fuck up the concept of education for it to be a normal thing to assume kids are universally desperate to avoid learning.

something I love about the mob psycho finale was the implication of when Shigeo called Reigen a stranger, dismissing absolutely everything he had ever done for him, but the thing is, he was not wrong at all. the point is that both Shigeo and Mob are right, Reigen has helped him through so much, he doesn't see him any differently despite his powers, but he also is a liar and a fraud. a stranger, even.

using the word stranger is actually such a powerful thing to mention at all because it implies that they both showed sides of eachother that they regarded to be their "fake" selves, the persona they put up to mask their true feelings and intentions.

when Reigen says "this is the real me", he's not referring to just anything. he's saying he's not putting up that mask he always puts around everyone and that he's letting Shigeo, all of him, the good and the bad, see him for who he truly is, just like how Reigen saw all of him now. he's saying he's letting him see all of him instead of hiding it like he used to before, without Shigeo having to pry it out of him. they both know eachother so well, but at the same time, they don't know each other at all. they're the closest person they have to one another and yet they also don't know a fucking thing.

and that's the point. they'll learn about each other and themselves as they go along, trusting that the other will accept all of them, because that's what it's all about. it's all about trust and making connections, relationships that help you develop and become a better person, and I think that's beautiful. I just... love this story, man.
