Jai: Are you getting some action on the side bro? No judgement. Whatever is keeping you relaxed.
Jai: Although... is this really the best way? You're doing yourself a disservice Kunal. It's okay to call something quits.
Jai: Vinnie! Yes, let's do that - I will be the fave uncle once more. Lemme find out his schedule.
Jai: Thanks bro, you're the best. I'm tired of this jealousy nonsense though; it's been over 10 yrs, find something new?
Jai: I'm glad you remembered LOL.
Jai: Yeah? Good to know. She's been kinda silent the past few months, I should check up on her, make sure she hasn't made work her life partner.
Jai: Thanks man. F***, it'll be so weird catching up with the gang after Manish's wedding. Can't believe it's already been over a year.
Kunal: I mean...sure but there are other ways to let off steam. Point is, I'm working on it I promise.
Kunal: Let's do it, maybe the day after the game we can take them out to play soccer or something? Maybe cricket? Get Vinnie to show up and make them go crazy?
Kunal: They're just jealous that you've sustained this stardom for so long but yeah of course I'm always going to have your back. Surprised nahi hona isko leke.
Kunal: That's true--I was a willing participant in this friendship haha
Kunal: No, you can bring her up. It won't make things weird, promise. And yeah I get that--don't worry, I'm good to be your plus one.

Jai: It's a part of what I do best. You're welcome cutie.
Jai: Bring a pair of sunglasses. It'll help with the glare of the flashes. And keep them from knowing how many times you're glaring at someone.
Jai: I try, I try - but I can't be as cute or adorable as you.
Jai: Hazard of the profession? Hazard of my childhood - my dad and stepmum got very used to my theatrics. My stepsister just threw pillows at my head. I did manage to get her to at least dance to some popular numbers - not that she'd admit to that.
Jai: Hopefully you're getting regular breaks and keeping yourself hydrated. Please also send a selfie because I want a preview :D
Samara: Wahhh giving me so much praise, I love it. And thanks Jai, you always manage to make me smile.
Samara: Ahhh okay, yeah I've never really been consider a celebrity so I've only seen the separation a bit at the Mumbai one but nothing too much. But I guess you're right, we'll find out what it's like.
Samara: Sounds good to me sir.
Samara: Awww you're so cute Jai
Samara: You are very filmy, it's a little insane but I suppose it's a hazard of the profession.
Samara: Thank you very much--because all the compliments will make me blush too much. I've got a clothing shoot today, which is fun but damn is it hot in the shooting space especially with the crazy lights they use.

Jai: Boxing? You do have the build for it. I'm glad bro, you need a break.
Jai: I'm pulling your leg, relax. But yeah I miss the boys as well, should grab them and give Danish bhaiya a break one afternoon.
Jai: Excellent. It's already in my diary. I need this.
Jai: ...that was a one time thing. The press have it out for me about my entire personality. But thanks for having my back bro. Appreciate it.
Jai: You knew what you were getting into all those years ago, no backing away now.
Jai: Thanks man, you'll always be my #1 bro. ...sometimes I worry about you, you know I don't like bringing her up. I'd take Mara, but then I don't want her to be caught up with our college gang, she'll run away. Contract or not.
Kunal: I won't, don't worry...I've found a great way to let out some steam.
Kunal: No no, I mean little not as in we're little, I just said it--sorry. But also that's nice? I haven't seen them in awhile though.
Kunal: I'm positive, that sounds good to me.
Kunal: I feel like that's a lie given his drama last year but sure I'll let you believe what you want my friend.
Kunal: WOW...my filmy friend really loves his references no?
Kunal: You'll always be my best friend Jai, no matter what. And nothing about Naz is random, but I'll take the segue. Yeah I mean--if you're cool not showing off your girlfriend then I'd be happy to accompany you.

Jai: As always, you're right. I'm glad you're enjoying it though, you deserve all the goodness & goodies.
Jai: There's no real separation of guests/celebs at international airport lounges; the Mumbai and Delhi lounges are different. You'll start experiencing that on your overseas shoots soon. Kuch alag mahol hai.
Jai: You're on. Loser has to do whatever the winner wants for a full day. What say madam?
Jai: Your faith means a lot to me, and not just as an actor.
Jai: Okay you're going to laugh, but "Yeh Dosti" started playing in my head. I am pretty filmy like that, I am aware. But you'll get used to it.
Jai: Arrey, maine kya kiya? Aap ko tareef na karoon toh mujhe acha nahi lagta. But I'll be a good bacha and not distract you during work. Which shoot/ad are you doing today?
Samara: I think it's worse for you because you've been famous for so long Jai and you're someone people look up to and just want to always follow so yeah I get that. But for me--it's just starting so I think I'm enjoying it for now.
Samara: Perfect and wow--even at the lounge huh? I thought Mumbai has that separate spot for all your filmy folk?
Samara: You know---I'm going to take you up on that because I know you will STILL get more people stopping you.
Samara: Of course Jai, 100% support...always. And of course I will always be honest and in the best way possible, but I have faith you're going to blow me away.
Samara: That sounds good to me honestly...and awww you're so sweet babe, I think you're easy to be around as well and I think this friendship is definitely one I want to cherish for as long as we can.
Samara: Stop making me blush! Kaam pe zara bhi focus nahi rehta phir.

Jai: Yeah I get it. Just don’t become too busy… I don’t want you burning out dude.
Jai: Ohh. Since when do you call it a little boy’s night? Bro, have you been hanging out with my nephews or something? They have more boy’s nights than us.
Jai: If you’re sure. I’ll come over then, 8pm alright?
Jai: I know the press don’t matter, I do. It’s just getting exhausting having to prove myself every single time. Not even Aryan Khan deals with this much drama.
Jai: Oh thank God. Your secretary deserves a Best Villain award - she makes Gabbar look tame.
Jai: Good. At one stage I thought I lost that post to Nee— but thankfully not. Speaking of random people from the past, I heard a little birdie tell me that there’s going to be a college reunion soon. Wanna be my bro-date?
Kunal: I know, I know...but yeah there's nothing like that. Just keeping busy, you know how it is.
Kunal: I do enjoy watching the games, I'm saying we should have a guy's night dude. And yeah I mean--she's not always home so it wouldn't really matter but sure, your place.
Kunal: That's true but I guess you need to stop letting it affect you. They don't matter.
Kunal: I'm just kidding, you know you can just talk to me directly and I'll make time for you. And it's not just you, she glares at everyone don't feel bad.
Kunal: You do get best friend privileges, don't worry about that and no you'd never be just a client. You'll always be my closest friend, you know that.

Jai: Anything for you m’dear. Sometimes disguises are your best friend - anonymity is a luxury and there are times where I just want to do what I want without being criticised or judged because young people follow me without thinking.
Jai: Don’t worry my Mara. I’m rarely bothered internationally - except at the airport because there’s always someone who recognises me. Even at the lounge.
Jai: Wanna bet? The next time we’re out & about, I’m going to count how many times we get stopped because of you. Then you’ll realise how popular you’ve become.
Jai: Thanks for the support. Here’s hoping my fans believe my honesty in this movie. If I’m bad though, please be gentle the first time? And then help me get better.
Jai: How about we just focus on our friendship. The contract just requires us to be seen together. We already hang out a lot and I love it. You’re so easy to be around, I feel… safe.
Jai: 😘 you’re genuinely a cutie. Don’t change.
Samara: No please..I think it's cute, and you always are so good with them, I love watching that. And please--disguises are for the weak. We can power through--so long as they don't bother us in foreign countries.
Samara: Oh please...not always, but yeah sometimes it's cute but I still think it's more for you Jai.
Samara: Listen, you are an amazing actor and whatever you are doing--is always special to your real fans, they support you in everything you do, as long as you've done it with full honesty. Keep that in mind.
Samara: No you aren't, I know...I just find it all a bit hard to keep separate if that makes sense? And of course, I always want to be friends with you.
Samara: 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Jai: Yeah, that'll be so good! ...I'm sorry you have to deal with that, they're sweet but it can get a bit too much. I haven't found a decent disguise yet - when I do, I'll make one for you as well.
Jai: Although I think these days I'm not the reason we get stopped. I'm really glad things are working out in your favour. Makes me happy to be your arm candy ;)
Jai: Good. I am kinda nervous though. This is a role I've been wanting to do for such a long time... but what if it doesn't resonate with my fanbase?
Jai: I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to make you feel bad Mara, promise. I just like being silly but I will do better. I'm just glad I'm getting a --friend out of this contract.
Jai: Thanks Mara, you're the best.
Samara: You're kidnapping me hmm? Chal--de deti hoon permission. I am excited about being able to walk around with you and not have your fangirls stop us at every intersection.
Samara: I think that's very true and you really are so lucky--how on earth did you get this lucky Jai? Oh right--thanks to some photographers lol
Samara: Oh, I thought it was releasing way later than that...haan then there's no issue.
Samara: Jai--stop it na, I'm not planning on anything, just reminding us both of the contractual obligations and rules we both agreed to.
Samara: That's sweet...and just so you know, so far I think it could be easy enough to fall for you too.

Jai: My schedule is not as packed as yours is becoming dude. You always used to be available on the weekends. Sometimes I wonder if there's something you're not telling me and then I remember that it's you.
Jai: Little boy's night? Wow. I thought you used to enjoy watching the games bro. Mine obviously. Don't wanna bother bhabhi & all with my yelling at the screen like a fanboy.
Jai: I dated Ana for two years. But of course it wasn't good enough for them... called me a playboy when she was a gold-digger. Tired of being the media's punching bag.
Jai: Thank you bro... but is that really necessary? Your secretary is scary. I have tried everything to make her smile, but all she does is glare at me.
Jai: [UNSENT] Honestly? I'm starting to wish there was no contract.
Jai: What special treatment? I thought I got best friend privileges. Am I just a client to you now? :(
Kunal: I do plenty of relaxing, don't you worry about me. It's you who always has a packed schedule, don't forget.
Kunal: Oh good, and yes count me in for that. We'll have a fun little boy's night. Your place? Or mine?
Kunal: They will--when they see you in somewhat of a solid relationship it helps them change their views about you. You know that. I avoid meeting someone who isn't going to be in your life longterm Jai. Otherwise mujhe kya problem hogi?
Kunal: Alright I'll meet her. And no you're never getting access to my calendar, you can speak to my secretary like everyone else.
Kunal: Always wanting special treatment superstar saab.

Jai: The photoshoot will only take a day. I'm kidnapping you for a week. With your permission obviously - there's so much to enjoy. And sometimes we all just need a break from our day-to-day life.
Jai: You could still be a good girlfriend, just not for some people? But I am a very lucky man with you by my side ;)
Jai: ...the contractual obligation is for six months. The premiere is in two. You're already planning on leaving meeeeee? Main marr kyun nahi gaya isse pehle, hai Rabba!
Jai: Fine. I'll be nice. But seriously Mara, it wouldn't be hard to fall for you.
Samara: I am more than excited about it so have no fear, I'll enjoy the trip even if we don't do a photoshoot or anything.
Samara: Of course, I mean--I wouldn't be a good girlfriend would I, if I couldn't be a good ally?
Samara: Wah wah...such flattery Jai, I love it.
Samara: I mean yeah of course? If we're still doing this whole thing than I'd love to be your plus one to the premiere. I'm so glad you asked.
Samara: Jai...stop teasing me, we've both signed a contract.

Jai: It's always work with you bro. Kabhi toh relax karo. ...wait, forgot who I was messaging. Sorry, wrong number.
Jai: Jokes. :D
Jai: It's fine dude, I managed to catch it live. You still owe me though. Arsenal's playing Saturday night, you up for it?
Jai: I highly doubt the media is going to get much better about me - but team isn't complaining so I'll take it as a win. Waise, since when do you avoid meeting people? Chal na, do it as a personal favour to me.
Jai: Other plans huh. I wanna ask but I know how private you can be sometimes. Rehne do, I'll just need access to your calendar so I can book myself in for some bro time.
Kunal: Yaheen ho, tu bol kya kaam tha?
Kunal: Oh shit...right, I won't be back in the city till maybe late afternoon so maybe in the evening? Would that work? You can DVR it?
Kunal: I'm sure she's a great person but I don't know if I need to meet her? I mean...it's a 6 month deal right? But I think it might help clean up your image with the media so no harm so long as you both abide by the rules.
Kunal: I didn't ditch you, I just had some other plans come up. Sorry man.
Kunal: But I'm offering you Monday evening--that should work?

As much as Jai wanted to respond to Samara's statement, he didn't want to come off as pushy or weird. For the young woman to even admit to potentially falling in love... even if it was a joke— these were things that were possible on his part. He was more relaxed around her than he had thought possible and it wasn't because he was trying to polish an image. No, he thought as they continued walking, I can see this happening because of her.
The actor chuckled at her feigned annoyance and even made sure to affect a pained face before laughing a little harder. "Kya karoon madam, aap jo itni forward ho... I have to enjoy myself a little bit, right?" He relaxed as she questioned what was available and smiled, nodding in response. "Yes, whatever cuisine you feel like is always available here. I think there's something about a revolving 'cuisine of the week' but I've never really paid attention to it - I just like eating what looks and smells good."
Sensing that she was following his lead, he continued their path towards the Latin American section, each stall representing some popular and off-beat foods that promised a sensory overload of taste and smell. He patted her hand and thought about her question and earlier statement. He was definitely grateful that Samara didn't feel it necessary to update social media constantly and knew once again he'd made the right decision about their contract. "I don't get how people have the energy to keep posting on social media. I mean, I'm lucky because I have a team who enjoys updating my fans on my life but even then, it can become too tedious. Tonight though... maybe I can indulge everyone with a selfie? Have to show off how lucky I am, with you around," he added with a wink.
Before he could let her respond though, he turned to one of the stall owners and ordered a vegetarian empanada plus a chorizo and chicken one. "Right now I've been enjoying a lot of South American foods, so let's start here? I've ordered you the vegetarian one... I hope that's okay?" If she wanted a bite of his, he didn't mind sharing. "Don't worry Mara, I will become your connoisseur for tonight - you just tell me if you want sweet, bitter, sour or salty. There's something here for all of us," he murmured as he was handed the small pastries, the steam dissipating as he passed the first one to his date and hoped she would enjoy it as much as he enjoyed her company.
Tumblr media
“Aye haye Jai—agar aisi baatein karte rahoge, toh pakka mujhe tumse pyaar ho jayega, aur phir bada paange hojayenge,” she chuckled before nodding at his words as well, “we’re honestly two peas in a pod that way.” But while she could say those words, she didn't know how true they really were. After all—Jai was still a stranger essentially to her and so while she could be telling the truth, he could be fully just being playful with her and so it would be best for her to remain as guarded as possible.
She really hadn’t ever been here before though and so the entire place was so inviting that Samara found her senses overcome with a million different scents from around them that left her curious as to how much she could truly put away today. When he chose this particular moment to talk about the words she’d said a few moments ago, that she found herself chuckling. “Chup—tum na, bada badmaash ho,” Samara couldn’t stop herself from smacking his shoulder playfully. “Okay but you can’t be serious…sab kuch mil jaata hai yahaan?” She looked around in surprise before wrapping those long arms around his neck. What she hadn’t expected—was the feeling that washed over her as soon as his arms steadied her. It felt…warm and comforting; safe almost. She hadn’t expected it and the feeling surprised her greatly.
Samara nodded when Jai told her of the rule and made a point of taking her phone out of her pocket and placing it in her purse before shaking her head, “don’t worry—I’m not like the rest of the people in our generation—feeling the need to share each and every moment on social media.” Samara said this quickly before praying that Jai wasn’t like this and that she hadn’t ended up insulting him somehow. “I can’t believe how many different things are here though—what’s your favourite to have here?”
She was waiting for his response when he brought the conversation back to what she had said about him murdering something or someone and chuckled before shrugging, “I’d have asked you if you replaced that blender first and then I’d have thought about it,” she told him with a grin before they walked along just trying to see what they wanted to have but she was honestly so overwhelmed by everything that she didn’t think she’d be able to decide easily. “I bet it’ll be better but honestly my senses are overloaded with the exposure right now—so you decide on something and I’m going to trust you tonight.”

Jai: Oh mera Ranjha, kidhar hai aaj kal?
Jai: You've ditched me yet again. What happened to watching the Miami F1 race on Monday?
Jai: Also, you still haven't given me your personal view on this contract. I do want you to meet her though. Samara is a cool lady, I think you'd like her.
Jai: Not as much as me though... even if you ditched me. Again.

Jai: I've got my team on it - I'm being serious about this now. I'm sure you'll be told eventually once all the details are sorted. Oh man it's going to be great, you'll enjoy it.
Jai: That's totally cool Mara; you know yourself best and that's all that matters. Thanks for the support, you're a good ally <3
Jai: ...um oops? But lbr, you're the one for me cutie. How can I resist those big eyes, that beautiful smile?
Jai: Does that mean I'll have a plus one to the premiere of Zaroorat in the next couple of months? Pleaseeeeeeee?
Jai: Are you giving me the option? Because I won't say no.
Samara: Acha okay, sounds good to me. Ooh a joint photoshoot would be perfect! That would pretty much get everyone onboard. I love the way you think.
Samara: Maybe you're right, I just haven't really felt the need to discover that part of myself, if that makes sense? But I'm filled with support for whatever you need or choose.
Samara: HAWWWW I was about to be super offended Mr. Jai Malhotra, I hope you know that. But good...I will not let someone steal you from me this quickly.
Samara: Like I said, I've been a fan. 😉🥰 Awww you're so cute.
Samara: That's probably true...But I feel like I'm an easy girl to keep around so you really wouldn't have much trouble if that was what you really did want.

Jai liked that Samara had no problems with being touched, or touching. It was refreshing to the actor and yet he couldn't deny how internally pleased he was at his cheek being pinched by her. The model had something about her that made it so easy for him to relax himself around her - even though this was technically their first official date. "You're too cute Ms. Puri, bas kar, nahin toh tere pyaar main naa jane kya karloonga," he chuckled.
It wasn't until they were immersed inside with all the inviting smells and sounds that he responded to her teasing queries, having been distracted by the delights that awaited him— them. "A night of debauchery?! Woman you're killing me here... woh bhi ho jaayenge ek raat... ya din ko. Waise, let this be an evening of culinary debauchery. Whatever you would like to eat or drink, it's all here." He looked at her in surprise as she looped her arms around his neck and instinctively his own arms were wrapped around her waist, steadying her. Jai couldn't stop how good it felt to have her in his arms, even if it was only for a moment.
"Anytime babes, anytime. Their only rule is no social media posts tagging them - but definitely share the food. Something about wanting these stalls to generate bigger business outside of Khazana." He let go after a moment, and took her arm underneath his to lead her towards his favourite section - all the South American foods that never failed to tickle his fancy. He wondered if she would be interested in trying some tamales or maybe even an empanada. In any case, the night was still young and there was plenty of fun to be had.
"So Mara tell me, if I had murdered the blender, would you have reconsidered dating me?" he teased, nodding towards some of the stall owners who recognised him. While he knew it was more likely because of who he was, sometimes he liked believing it was really due to how much he enjoyed what they had to offer. It was also why he wanted to bring Samara here, to let her enjoy something new and understand a little more about it. "Oh, and feel free to point out something you want to try. It'll be much better than that... whatever restaurant offered."
Tumblr media
Samara watched as Jai parked the vehicle they were both in expertly well before he came over to where she had waited after exciting the car. He gave her a smile and so she smiled back at him before taking his arm. It was true that she had no idea where they were or what they were doing here. But something deep inside of her told her that trusting this man wouldn’t be a bad thing and so she took his arm and let him lead the way. There was a single light almost guiding them towards it but she couldn’t make out any details of the place they were at and while it could’ve unnerved some people—she found it to be exciting.
“I mean…I don’t mean anything bad by saying it. I guess I just never expected to have a friendship come from this arrangement.” She admitted before hearing his words and frowning before reaching over and pinching his cheek gently. “Arre mera shona babu—sorry okay? I won’t hurt your heart ever again,” she chuckled before looking back his way with a bright smile. She knew he was someone you would very easily become important to her and while it hadn’t happened yet—she knew very well that it would be inevitable.
Samara continued walking with him and watched as he quickly typed something on his phone, making her curious enough to suggest murder before she heard his words and laughed before raising a brow. “Yikes—you ‘murdered’ your blender then? That’s pretty violet Mr. Malhotra,” she teased before shaking her head, “phir kya hua? Did you end up getting a new blender? Or someone to make the smoothie for you?”
She ignored the slight tingle that went down her spine as soon as she felt his arm around her shoulders, reminding herself that they were friends and so this type of action was alright between friends before she glanced his way. “I’m ready for a night of anything—but just so you know Jai, the way you asked…it sounded like you were going to ask if I was ready for a night of debauchary, for which the answer might’ve been yes too, just saying.” But she followed him into the warehouse, taking a look at everything around them, truly feeling her senses become overloaded with just how breathtaking the place was. “Khazana? I think I’ve heard of it—oh my gosh, this place is incredible.” She turned and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Thank you for bringing me here…and don’t worry, no Russian food will be on our menu tonight.”

Jai: Norway is fine, but I've been wanting to witness the Northern Lights from Iceland. I'm thinking of going in October, wanna join? I'm sure we can work around our schedules. Maybe even do a joint photoshoot together? ...I trust you girlfriend. A lot.
Jai: I think there's a bit of queerness in all of us. But there's no pressure to push your boundaries if you're not comfortable. I'm glad we're talking about it, even if it via text.
Jai: If Nitish is as charming as you, then I'll have to really think about it. But LBR, you're the only one for meeeee!
Jai: Wait, have I really worked with that many actresses? I think you seem to know my filmography better than me. Which makes me pretty happy - my girlfriend is a fan! Helps that I'm a fan of yours as well.
Jai: Getting a girl and keeping them are two different things. But keeping you to myself wouldn't be that difficult. I know the way to your dil. ;)
Samara: Please do, I think we'd have fun going to some place and just chilling. Also--why would Iceland be a different story over Norway? Wahaan kuch special hai kya? Of course I won't change my mind Jai, itna bharosa toh rakhte hai log aapni girlfriend pe.
Samara: Achaaa, haan haan bata doongi as soon as he's back in Mumbai.
Samara: Ayeeee thanks boyfriend, I appreciate the compliments always. Also yeah I guess that makes sense? I've always been...heterosexual I think? But bi-curious? Just never taken the plunge..so to speak. But I appreciate you saying that. Never thought I'd be having conversations like these with you via. text.
Samara: There's a lot of ladies you've done one hit wonders with but I've always appreciated your work in each one.
Samara: Oh wow--I love that idea. I think it'll be fun for sure but please if you're planning on casting me aside for him, koi baat nahi hai bas bata dena..okay?
Samara: I'm trying my best here. But kya kaare, you just know all the right ways to get a girl.

Jai: Oh yes, Indore. Let me get the schedule from Tanya - she keeps mucking around with it to annoy me. She was trying to send me to Norway out of all places and for no reason. If it was Iceland then different story. But now that you've offered... mukhar mat jana. You'll break my heart into chotu tukdas *sniff, sniff*
Jai: Hey, even if you're not romantically involved, he's still a good friend hai na? Toh phir I just want to make sure that as another friend, your good friend won't get upset.
Jai: You're not an ass, but you do have a cute one ;) I guess you can call me bisexual, but gender isn't a big thing for me. I think it's called pansexuality if I to identify that way. I'm glad you are good with it - most people think I'm just mucking around. Waise, whatever you identify with is fine with me. This is a safe zone yeah?
Jai: I'll tell you another day. Or maybe they'll make it obvious, who knows. Hint, I've never done another movie with her.
Jai: I can appreciate that Mara. Nitish sounds like a good mate. We should all hang out one day, it'll be good for PR right? But really, I just want to meet him LOL.
Jai: Mara... just don't fall in love with me. My jokes get pretty bad, pretty fast and definitely not as pretty as you. :P
Samara: That's adorable, and I feel lucky...also I'm sorry but main Indore mein thi yaa, aur tum toh yahaan pe the na, shooting pe? Warna pakka kehti tumhe join karne ke liye.
Samara: In fact, send me your schedule for the next month or so and we'll see if we can make time for a trip or something together. You're fun to hang out with and the PR teams will also love it.
Samara: I'll tell him but honestly I don't think he'll have any blowback. We're not...romantically involved really. Also--so much I don't know? Are you--gosh I feel like an ass asking this way but I want to know, are you bisexual? Because that is a-okay with me 🏳️‍🌈
Samara: I'm so tempted to ask who but damn that's crazy--someone who can't stand you? Aisa toh kabhi ho hi nahi sakhta lol but like you weren't at fault so she should've known better.
Samara: I get it, and you're not Jai. I just wouldn't feel right. If this think with Nitish was romantic I'd never have agreed to this contract, you know?
Samara: This is true and you always make me laugh sooo there's that.
