Can i say something. I hope not... Me when i make the new kleptomaniac character related to the guys with family in romania. But if i understood correctly he's an orphan so im guessing rei somehow comes across him/ becomes some sort of mentor figure? I havent seen the voicelines translated yet, just his first idol story, so im missing that element. He will probably be relevant in the next sakuma family ritual of the year is my guess though

I rly hate the Satanic Panic & the moral panic surrounding violence in video games in the 90s, coz it's now impossible to talk about the social implications of violent video games in a realistic sense.

No, violence in video games does not create serial killers in the way most people imagine it would.

However, it's very important to notice how after 9/11, a lot of violent video games pivoted their content from silly gratuitous cartoon gore to more realistic military shooters set in the Levant from a US American lens. It's also important to notice the connection of these games & their toxic online multi-player voice chats to Gamer Gate in 2014.

It's obviously not as black & white as it was presented in the 80s & 90s, I dont think everyone who played early Call of Duty games is a white supremacist who wants to join the military to kill people in the middle east, but I think it's dangerous to pretend like video games or any media can't have an impact on the way people think about violence.

I think what makes all the difference here is how that violence is portrayed, what the message behind it is, what the motives are behind the people who crafted that message, who the victims of that violence are, how they are portrayed & the greater cultural context that surrounds it.

Hm... i do wish it was normalized to talk about how yes you can have an interesting meaningful story involving characters with ocd coded or intrusive thoughts towards younger characters and it can be an important character trait that doesnt define them or one that is indicative of a set of values etc but you as a fan need to simultaneously be aware of the context of the story. Why do you think i lament being forsaken to like gacha games stories. The choices are made with intent to sell and appeal to an audience that will pay. I just think it's important to keep it mind that, and it pains me to see people who express concern at intentionality being labeled "freaks cuz they thought of that in the first place" i promise you theyre not the freaks for being concerned. So while i do think HE is definitely trying to appeal to new younger audiences with modern teen characters and the use of tiktok, it is important to keep history, audience, and possible further interests in mind too. Well from the bottom of my heart i hope none of the new characters ever get cards like that one hyena aira 4* but it is always good to stay cautious. I dont understand how ppl parrot being "critical of the media we consume" but then not being ok with talking about such fanservice that is undeniably there. Yet i understand reluctancy to admit you're not the target audience, and the willingness to just ignore anything you dont like... i might've been guilty of it myself at points.

Which circle shuffles are you most looking forward to? For me it’s gotta be Dramatica (because it’s Dramatica), Tea Party Flavor (Eichi and Hiyori singing together), Biblion (Nagisa and Tsumugi singing together), or Craftmonsters (Rinne and Shu singing together is something I never thought I’d get to see but here we go)

You literally named them already! Although rinne and shu were in endless vide together already werent they? I think in addition to these im excited for the confirmed pretty 5 one, then hopefully mystery researchers will get something too... oceans and animals... niki's kitchen :3

My next shuffle unit theme proposal: Lady Gaga's 2011 hit song Born This Way.

Synopsis: Eichi legalizes gay marriage under Ensemble Square, announces it to the outside world through a new queer anthem that promotes ES as THE place to be for LGBTQ+ people.

Members: Eichi, Arashi, Shu, Himeru, Chiaki.

Shenanigans ensue when Chiaki thinks he's invited in the role of straight ally. Everyone turns around and starts whispering "Does he not know he's bi yet?" "HiMERU thought he was dating a guy for as long as HiMERU has known him" "Yes I invited my old hospital friend out of an affinity that we're both dating a blue haired member of the 5 eccentrics" "Are we sure Kanata is a man though maybe that's where the misunderstanding lies" to be continued

Wasn’t Natsume also a part of AtoZ, the first shuffle in the first round of shuffles? It’d be funny if Natsume is just gonna be a part of the first shuffle for however many rounds of shuffles they’re going to do. I am okay with this.

The difference in mv quality between AtoZ and Ringing Evil Phone is craaaazyyyy though im so curious how much theyll improve by the last one in this series...
