okay so, i've been contemplating this for a few minutes and i can't actually place it down to just one specific driver. so i'm going to ship you with two! im so sorry im so indecisive sometimes lol

first, i do think you would mesh very well with carlos sainz. although, your zodiac signs aren't the most compatible, i do think he would really adore your extroverted, adventurous personality; and he would admire your passion and intelligence - always encouraging you to push harder and achieve what you've set out to. i also really think he would be beneficial for times when you're anxious or feeling soft and just need a lil extra loving, he'd be more than happy to sit around and listen to you play piano or learn how to surf for you (also carlos + a dog lover is a thing).

IDK much about the Taylor situation but I've been a Sabrina fan for almost a decade and she has really worked her ass off to be where she is today (and ironically the person she gets compared to the most gives me strong industry plant vibes, and my uncle who works under a subsidiary for Republic Records even said she probably was one) so I just wanted to point out that her label is bankrupt. Olivia O'Brein (an artist under Island) said artists had to pay for their own song promos last year :/

literally yeah... to be honest I've never doubted her activism was performative given that she was always so famously silent on political issues (cynics would say in order not to alienate her republican fans who liked her country princess roots) just to go full 180 during lover and then... never addressing any of that again? but like, her dating a racist does not personally affect me in the slightest because she is neither my misguided friend nor a role model to me. i just wish she wouldn't victimize herself constantly in the songs. i'm soooo mad that the production of but daddy i love him (one of the first part's rare highlights) was wasted on such immature lyrics.

the reason her trademark romeo and juliet star-crossed lovers act doesn't work here is because she is no longer a teenager secretly seeing an older rougher guy her parents disapprove of. she is 34 years old and publicly dating a misgoynistic classist pig who gets off on black women's pain. it just feels incredibly hypocritical to pretend to be all for #girlpower!! and women in the industry and female friendships and then stay quiet when your boyfriend mocks your collaborator and friend's body and ethnicity on a podcast for all the world to hear. just like it must feel like a tremendous slap to the face for all her fans of color to be tricked into believing she cares about their cause, and then endorsing someone as vile and virulent as him. like i'm sorry, you absolutely ARE the sum of the people you hang out with, and her showing off her new man while he's actively saying shit like that is proof that she cares little enough to brush these comments aside as "mistakes" or worse, normal. and the real nail in the coffin is that she's treating her fans' extremely valid hurt and feeling of betrayal as nothing more than haters making noise. "bitchin and moanin"? "vipers"? be so fucking for real right now taylor. you're THIRTY FOUR years old, take some accountability.

she's built her entire artistic brand upon her transparency and relatibility and easter eggs and decoding lyrics and secret meanings (who else garners this much speculation about their songs' muses? why don't we dissect other popstars' songs with the same fervor?) to fuel this parasocial spell her most avid fanbase is under, but then snaps at people when they ARE parasocial and express discomfort with who she associates with and what she stands for. it's very bizarre and this whole album is painting her in a very bad light without any real admission of fault, kinda like when your friend rants your ear off about her mess of a love life hoping you'll say what she wants to hear but halfway through you realize she's kinda the problem. she's coming off as disconnected, extremely self-unaware (yet all her works are drenched in introspection, it's like she's avoiding the elephant in the room), haughty, and childish.

which some swifties will immediately counter with "but that's the point!!!! she's a tortured poet!!!! she's antipathetic!!! she wrote this during a manic episode!!!!!" and like yeah, I get it to an extent, but that doesn't make it good lmao? the whole album is stream of consciousness and way too long and convoluted and overwritten and monotone and it SO would've benefitted from a good bout of editing. someone said "there is a good, great even, 40-minute album trying to escape this 31-song behemoth" and i couldn't agree more. it's giving first draft, it's giving throwing shit at the wall and seeing if it sticks, it's giving notes app poetry, it's giving you should've gone to a therapist with this. like im so so so serious, from a human perspective, ttpd should NEVER have been an album she puts out into the world to appease some kind of voyeuristic codependency she has with the audience (we need to see her, she needs to be seen by us), but notes in her therapist's journal. taylor has said before she's never attended therapy because she finds songwriting therapeutic instead, but that doesn't mean she has to share it all with the world.

the swiftie to swift-hater pipeline is something so interesting because I've been on both sides.
