Finnlo ask! What do you think was the most important thing Finn had to overcome when he accepted Kylo as his personal bootlicker? Was there heavy resentment or just straight up anger or overwhelming disinterest being around Kilo Ron? Also, which of Finn’s friends would he work through his emotions with?

🙁 um well first off I wouldn’t describe kylo as Finns “personal bootlicker”. Kylos just really really committed to Finn bc he loves him in his own weird screwed up way and he doesn’t know of any other way to show loyalty than to like Do what he does best in canon which is like kill people and be scary. And he wants to redeem himself even though he knows he can’t

My main version of finnlo is one where they had a relationship in the past before the events of tfa and Finn defects and he leaves kylo bc he knows he is not like him..finnlo w bendemption would have Finn trying to work through his feelings toward kylo bc Finn knows him really well and he can tell he’s being sincere and it’s all just really confusing there’s times where he is really mad and he honestly will never forgive kylo for his past actions or think of him as Ben and if kylo was written correctly he’d know he could never “be Ben” again either this is where it gets a bit uhh problematic and where I fudge it all a bit for an imperfect happy ending bc kylo should be punished for his crimes and the people he murdered and the way he hurt Finn and Finn should kill kylo! so yeah canon verse is weird. Any regular non murderer kylo he’s some freak who steals and doesn’t know how to talk to people so finn is a bit weirded out when he finds kylos awkwardness charming and he does go to rey and paige and Poe who are also weirded out and confused but somewhat except the hulking white guy as part of their group when they see how happy he makes Finn...

I’ve done a few of these but I never went through the whole graphic-true intro dance! Reminded me too much of roleplaying, I guess! Anyways, hello, hi, my name is Yah Yah, and I’m a Black surrealist-horror author. I’m twenty years old and I’ve truly been writing for as long as I can remember. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do! I like speculative fiction and horror, science fiction and fantasy. I love thrillers and dramas and all sorts of things to give me the willies! I hope what I write gives you all lots of heebies and jeebies as well!

My writing is very much influenced by Shirley Jackson, Toni Morrison and Margaret Atwood, as well as Zora Neale Hurston and Charlotte Bronte. We love a gothic vibe, we love a creeping terror!

I have a collection of short stories to be published with @minimalistgrufti later on this year, and a novel ON SUNDAYS, SHE PICKED FLOWERS coming out this June. I have so many short stories here on Tumblr and Medium, and so many works in process it’s crazy! The best I can do is point you to my writing tag and cross my fingers that I’ll get better at tagging out all the WIPs!

messing a lot with Wakandan tribes/family structure and that line on structural power is what strikes me. doesn’t have to be perfect but autonomy/inheritance laws that don't suck go a long way

a lot of matrilineal societies are still patriarchal but husbands don't hold structural power over wives because property is passed down the female line. so a wife can tell a husband to fuck off, but the most powerful member of the family is the brother. my expertise is khasi matriliny tho! you can look into that too if you're interested. and a lot of work done on the khasi tribe is by Indians. less colonial gaze-y.
