Title: The Actual

Photography dealt with the actual, I happen to photograph these two incredible models that allowed me to connect my vision with their personalities, but all is a process and I have to said that the central act of photography, the act of choosing and eliminating, forces me to direct them in order to complete this act which happens to be the most necessary ingredient to create these images. Perhaps the photographs seems to have a special connection with reality and independence of the photographer’s intentions. In the continuation of the movement Black lives matter I am grateful to feel free of saying that color does not matter, what matters is who you are as human in the world.

Photography is the mirror, more faithful than any actual mirror, in which we witness at every age, our won aging. The actual mirror accompanies us through time, thoughtfully and treacherously; it changes with us, so that we appear not to change. There is noting else that fulfill my life other than my family and photography. I can always go back and look at this mirror that show me how they look then, my two little strong want to be.

The close connection between what the photographs show and what exists in the world is a transparency of the photograph. In truth, photographs can be far from objective in how they present a subject; as a photographer my choice of camera angle, lighting, and framing all influence the way in which the subject will be seen. My perspective in photography has become clear I am influence by art and all the images I created have always the attempt to look like paintings, but always allow to show the imperfections.

Female body and mind have strong creative sides, it seems unpredictable, unaccountable, brilliant, mercurial, moody guided by inspiration and genius, that is what helped me to create these photographs that maintain the contemporary art that not only reflects, but actively gave a clear vision of how fashion influences the work of these images which the only purpose is to simple show the freedom and the strength of a woman.

The advertising industry is full of images, these two images I created it for a project. The project requires to recreate and create your own advertising. The portraits include one friend of mine and myself. Digital photography is quicker and more complex than conventional photography, but it is certainly not the site of new issues and problems in imaging and representation. The digital  work for every image has a meaning always deeper for every photograph I develop, the goal is always to create cohesive work to maintain the art and the style, my style.

The collaboration between the artist and the subject is essential, these photographs have the evidence of an instant in time that is irretrievable, lost forever, and at the same time, a protection against the total loss of the instant. The process invite us to purse the permanent image, to hold on something we will always remember. In world of fashion the female figure must recreate a moment for herself and for the audience.

I was so grateful and excited to see my work on the walls of the museum. The University Art Museum in Long Beach California has been creating exhibitions where artists and future artists present contemporary art. My piece with title "Solitude" was part of the Insights student art exhibition and as a immigrant artist I can only feel more inspired to continue this journey.

Solitude

The color red represents protection in some cultures, passion, its connected to our blood deep guttural feelings that we cannot escape. The ocean gave interminable sound through the waves that reflects a feminine cycle, I stand here on the shores asking for protection, solitude is what guides me to fulfil the world I live in for periods of time without my mother to convey in almost a spiritual ceremony.

I am exploring the psychology of a self-portrait, not just simple reflections or reproductions of the camera. I didn't decided to be a photographer, I just happened to fall into it. 

These images were a conceptual healing process, gratefully after I submited them they were selected for the University Art Museum and The Miller house exhibition.

The process of art is the effort to turn the invisible into visible, it is the result from the creative process of a given individual. I have started to present my work in this platform because I do need to believe that a Mexican woman is capable of represent herself, her country, and her culture. Title: The Alice Inside of Me

I am into the tale of Alice in Wonderland, while I was growing up my mother decided to bought a vinyl record where we used to hear stories, Alice was one of them and that was my first and only form to know the story, I was forced to use my imagination. I happened to believe that Alice was with brown hair and brown eyes. The importance of the specific project was and still is the opportunity to represent with myself my own take of the story which made me learn how to go through the stages of feeling vulnerable, confused, and becoming confident.

Title: Eleven Paintings and One Photograph

Here is a part of my series based on my role model and inspiration artist, Frida Kahlo. I have been learning about her work, and I honestly do not have the ability to draw, but I painted myself with light. I replicate her work, but I did my own version as myself not as her. I have my own emotions, struggles and pain, I have several surgeries and my health is not the best. I know that everything I have been through has happened to make me grow stronger and have perseverance. I am my own muse and I see a reflection of myself through her work.

The Darkness is Fragile

The images I am presenting to you allowed me to grow as an artist. We all go through situations that sometimes are hard to explain, with my images I have the opportunity to show the strength side of myself. In the water we all can feel vulnerable but for me I happen to find the way to create art with the waves and feel unassailable.The project is base on a legend from my country, and gratefully was selected to be part of the Photo LA exhibition were I presented in a 11x17 size and framed.
