A few moments later
On the isle of Patch, Taiyang was busy putting together a new kitchen shelf when his scroll ran. He smiled as he put down the screwdriver, tapped on the small screen and picked it up.
"Hey, kids, how's everything at Beacon? You two eating right?"
Both of them didn't respond, seeming oddly unsure of something. He’s seen this often when Yang wanted to ask about Raven.
"Everything o-"
"Do we have a brother?"
Yang was the one to say it, watching her dad go wide-eyed. Ruby took the chance to continue,
"We.. we saw someone Yang's age... he's blonde and has blue eyes like you... he got mad today and they turned red... like Yang's..."
The scroll slipped through his fingers.
“DAD!”
The room started to blur a bit, he grabbed onto the countertop with one hand while the other was on his chest.
He’s… he’s alive. My son’s alive.
Twins Au: The Revelation
Presenting my addition to @pilot-boi's Twins AU. This was a section that they already wrote about but I wanted to turn it into a full piece.

There it was again. The faint sting that haunted her since childhood. This time it was on the left side of her face, across her cheekbone. Along with the pain, Yang felt a slight anger build up inside.
Why? Why was she angry?
Was it because of this phantom pain that’s followed her for all these years? Or was this even anger, was it just frustration?
Leaving the Public Relations elective, she chose at the recommendation of Professor Goodwitch and her team, Yang made her away, alongside her partner, Blake Belladonna, to the cafeteria. While it was a useful class, and one that she had openly admitted to needing, one con she faced daily was the journey across the Beacon campus to the lunchroom. Mentally she was praying that Ruby, or their sister team, JNPR had found a place for both teams to enjoy their food.
“-ng. Yang.”
Yang snapped out of a daze she didn’t even realize she was in. She turned and saw Blake with a concerned expression.
“Everything ok?”
“Yeah.” Yang replied, rubbing her cheek. “That stinging pain came back.”
“Ruby mentioned that it’s been with you a while, is it related to your semblance?”
“I doubt it,” Yang sighed, looking forward again. “I’ve felt it even BEFORE dad unlocked my aura. Originally, I thought it was growing pains, but now it HAS to be something else.”
The pair rounded a corner into the main hallway of Beacon. Students were still flowing out of classrooms, signalling to the pair that they still had time before the lunch line closed.
“You might want to consider checking in with Beacon’s aura specialist.” Blake suggested. “Like you said, you had this before you had your aura unlocked. It isn’t that far-fetched to say that those were actual growing pains. This could be something related to your aura or even your semblance.”
“How could this be attached to my semblance?”
“I’d recommend going to the specialist to get a better understanding, but from what I remember, semblances can evolve, by either adding onto or changing how they behave.”
Yang stayed silent, considering that option. It never crossed her mind that it could actually be aura or semblance related. Anytime it was mentioned, it was dismissed due to the pains she felt when she was aura less.
Yang winced again. The pain struck her right hip. Determination was soon mixed in with the previous frustration.
“There it is again,” Yang shot out. “It’s like I’m getting slammed in a brawl.”
“Do you want to head to the infirmary? I could grab you some food?”
“I might go after lunch. The pains don’t usually last long anyway.”
The two were closing in on the entrance to the Beacon cafeteria, when they started to hear a roar and saw other students rush in. The pair looked at each other and followed suit.
Pushing through the crowd, Yang spotted Ruby, and vaguely heard her yell something towards the spectacle. Making her way over she saw what, or rather who, was at the center of attention.
It was Jaune and Cardin.
Of course it was. Conflict followed those two like bad luck to her uncle.
Off to the side of the semi-circle sat the rabbit faunus that Cardin and his lackey’s routinely tormented, Velvet, Yang remembered.
“Vomit boy finally snapped huh?” Yang asked her sister.
“Yeah, although Cardin’s landed a couple hits on Jaune.” Ruby answered, before cupping her hands around her mouth. “KICK HIS BUTT JAUNE!”
“ARC YOU BETTER NOT LOSE!”, came an authoritative voice from beside Ruby. Yang looked over her sister, and saw the Ice Queen herself, hands acting as a megaphone around her own mouth.
Noticing the new arrivals, she dropped her hands, and turned to face them.
“Just because I keep rejecting him, doesn’t mean I want him to lose. Especially to Cardin of all people.”
“What ever you say Weiss.”
Weiss stomped and pouted, causing the blonde to snicker. Yang was pulled from her laughter when Ruby grabbed her and pointed back at the brawl.
“Yang… Look at Jaune.” Came an almost whisper from her sister, as Yang followed her gesture.
Taking a proper gaze at Jaune it was plain to see he was getting his ass handed to him, and someone, either from his team or outside, would need to help him. But that’s not what caught her attention, nor was it what caused the siblings to freeze.
Jaune’s face was bruised, and by the looks of it, Cardin landed a hit on the left side of Jaune's face, judging by the discolouration. Yang raised her hand to touch her cheekbone and pressed on it. The knight winced and Yang pulled away, before following Ruby’s finger and the air escaped her lungs.
It was his eyes.
The ocean blue eyes that both teams were used to, were no longer there.
They were filled with determination, rage, and confusion. Confused as to how someone could hate another based off their race, especially at an institution where they were learning to fight creatures of darkness. Rage at the injustice performed against a classmate and a soon to be comrade in arms. Determination to live up to his family’s heroic legacy, and end the injustice brought on by a fellow classmate.
The ocean blue eyes of Jaune’s kindness, dorkiness, and goofball appearance was replaced by those of fiery passion, to aid in his ability to fight for what’s right.
His eyes…
His eyes…
His... eyes…
His... eyes...
Had turned red.
Not just any red.
HER red. The red of a Branwen.

Twins AU: Mother Knows Best
Bit of a sequel to this piece, credit to @pilot-boi for this AU and the lore.
She found him out in the dunes, sat on top of one and eyeing the setting sun. She only heard snippets of what transpired, dragged through a realm of madness but little else other than the fact her son came back... changed. It was horrifying to think how much it reminded her of the old wizard.
She landed a bit to his side, spreading her wings before closing them again. For a bit they just sat there, neither saying or even so much as looking to the side. Until Yin decided to break the silence.
Jaune: ... Finally decided to be a mother, Raven?
She shifted out of that form, crossing her legs and laying her blade on her lap. She brought it into the sand and pushed herself up. She was pulled back down by her son.
Jaune: W-wait!
Raven finally turned to look at him. How could someone so young look so old. She wanted to look anywhere else. She saw too much of Tai at his worst in him.
Jaune: Does it get easier...?
Raven: Does what?
Jaune: Taking a life.
Raven raised an eyebrow, out of both of her children she expected Yang to be the one to ask her that.
Raven: It's not meant to be easier, Yin.
Jaune: Yet it is to you.
Raven: And what makes you say that.
Jaune: You tried to kill an infant after all.
She walked into that one, closing her eyes as she tried not to give a reaction.
Jaune: Then again how different am I really... I killed one of my sister's best friend...
Jaune wrapped his arms around his knees, laying his head down. Raven reached out, but her arm froze before she could touch him.
Raven: Gods, I'm bad at this...
Raven: When was this?
Jaune: During the trek from Atlas... she, she was wounded. Begged me to take her life, so Cinder couldn't take her power...
Raven: So a mercy kill then?
Jaune: Does that make it any better?
To Jaune's surprise, he heard Raven laugh.
Raven: You really are your father's son.
Jaune: Pardon?
Raven: He and I, we had a mission... Routine search and rescue in rural Vale, got their just in time, but the Grimm were far more than we expected...
She closed her eyes, hearing Tai yell her name.
Raven: The one we were sent to rescue, Beowolf got to her. We managed to repel the horde, but our medkit wasn't enough, and we were too far from any hospital... She, she looked at us and knew that was it, asking us to end the pain.
Raven gripped her sword, laying it across her lap.
Raven: Your father was the one to do it. Her last words were thank you. I don't think he ever stopped beating himself up over that.
Jaune: Do my sisters know...?
Raven: No, but you understand why I told you?
Jaune: Yeah.. Yeah I think I do...
The sun was fully setting as the silence returned. Raven got up, stretching her arms.
Jaune: Do you think this was enough for forgiveness?
Raven: I never said I came for forgiveness... I came as... a concerned mother.
Jaune didn't even respond.
Raven: I know it'll take ye-
Jaune: It's not me you need to ask for forgiveness.
Raven: Excuse me?
Jaune got up, turning to face her fully.
Jaune: My sisters spent a few days in the Ever After, I... I spent a lifetime at least in there. Decades stewing in my own anger, my anger at Cinder, at you, at myself...
Raven: Yin...
Jaune: I managed to let go of many things in there. You abandoning me was one of them... What I can't forgive is what you did to my sister. You want us to be family? Start there.
He started walking down the sands, heading towards town.
Jaune: Goodbye, Raven.
She waited until he was out of ear shot.
Raven: Goodbye... son...

Summer Rose took a deep breath as she closed the door, it hurt lying to them. She clenched her fists as her "partner" for the mission arrived.
Raven: Nobody suspects anything?
Summer: No, and if we can, let's keep conversations to a minimum.
Raven: Summer Rose telling lies and b-
Summer: Don't. Don't you even dare talk to me like we're friends after what you did.
Raven: What? Yin? He was we-
Raven didn't even have time to duck as Summer's fist hit her cheek. Her aura kept the punch from stinging too much. She knew better than to provoke another.
Summer: In a just world, Rae, I'd have a son back there sound asleep and you'd be rotting in some woods. If... If we make it back, I want nothing to do with you. I never want to see your face again. If I see so much as a fucking feather near my house I'll reunite you with Yin personally.
Raven couldn't even look her in the eye, staring at the ground as she silently opened the portal.

Oh it’s QUITE a bit worse
She’s already disappointed and infuriated with Raven for abandoning Tai and Yang when they needed her most. But taking their son, and then leaving him to die because he wasn’t “strong enough”?!
Summer would never kill Raven, even after everything’s she’s done she still means too much to her and the rest of her team. But she’s not sure she’ll ever be able to trust her again
Their meeting for Summer’s final mission goes a LOT less smoothly in this. A shoulder check and some curt words are enough when you know her “daughter” is safe and asleep in the house behind you. But when her son was left to be eaten by the Grimm? A force of evil Summer AND RAVEN swore to fight?

Taiyang knelt in front of three graves, placing a stick of incense by each and lighting them. The last one he placed in front of a tombstone that read;
Here lies Jaune Julius Arc, beloved son and brother
Tai: I... I brought something, wanted to share it with you when you were older…
He pulled out a bottle of whiskey, pouring some of its contents out in front of Ruby and Yang’s tombstones.
Tai: The first time I lost you, I became a lush… To the point I couldn’t take care of your sisters, and.. and I promised I wouldn’t go back to the bottle unless to celebrate you or Sum coming back.
He paused, as if the stone slab was replying. Tears started to form as he kept going.
Tai: And.. and when you did, I missed out on so much… You were basically already a man at that point, who didn’t need his pops anymore… I couldn’t teach you to shave, how to talk to girls, or even play a game of catch because you were too old for that.. But I thought we could share a drink at least, introduce you to the ole’ Xiao Long vice…
There was still no response.
Tai: I should have been there for you, I should have been a better father to all of you, I-I’m sorry, Yin.
He broke down, clutching the tombstone and sobbing into the rock. Freezing when he heard from behind.
Jaune: ... I forgive you.

Honestly, I don’t think it hits him that he lost Yin AGAIN until after he already has him back. He’s too busy grieving for both of them and Ruby to really realize that this is the second time he’s lost his son. He’s too much in shock from losing all three of his children in one fell swoop
When Jaune is back, young and old and young again, and he’s got white in his hair and he looks more like Tai then ever, I think that’s when it hits Tai that oh my god his son died again. How many times is he going to have to mourn the death of his son?
