a garfield jumper i knit for my friend! overall i'm very happy with it, although the sleeves are a bit long (which is a recurring problem, but easy to fix).
[ID1: a light purple knitted jumper, with garfield's face on the front.
ID2: a close-up of garfield's face. most of the colourwork is intarsia, although some details are emrboidered on. end ID]

chart for "lesbianism is a blessing". rewrote it from my very messy original notes, i hope it makes sense.
[ID: A chart for the letters L, E, S, B, I, A, N, M, and G, all 16 stitches high, on square paper. written notes read: Lesbianism is a blessing. Double knit, 20 stitches by 183 rows (question mark) - cast on 40 stitches. 1 row between letters, 7 rows between words. 10 rows at start and end, 1 stitch either side of letters". end ID]
("cast on 40 sts" because it is double knit, so there are two stitches for each apparent stitch, one on each side.)

i finished my culture vulture jumper!! the arms are a bit long but i figure i can easily shorten them in the future if i want to. made with a combination of 100% wool and acrylic scrap yarn. it is very comfy and warm!
[ID1: The front of the jumper, featuring a vulture wearing glasses, reading a book. the background is orange hills against a blue sky.
ID2: The back of the jumper, with a cow skull and ribcage . the background is orange hills against a blue sky, with three black birds flying between the hills.
ID3: The orange sleeves, with a simple white hare and green komodo dragon. end ID]

[ID: a garter stitch rectangle, knit in messy, chunky handspun yarn. the yarn is brown, with bits of white, orange, and blue throughout. end ID]
i tried spinning for the first time! and then used that yarn to knit this rectangle. it was not very good yarn but i have since researched and am looking forward to the next time i try it :)

hell yeah! lesbianism is a blessing!
i do want to add some length to the sides at some point, but the main design is done.
[ID 1: a double-knit scarf reading "lesbianism is a blessing" in dark blue against a mid-blue background. the scarf is folded in on itself to form a Z shape, showing both the front and reverse of the design.
ID 2: the scarf laid out across 3 photos, showing the full right-side of the design. end ID]

lesbianism is a...
[ID: an unfinished double-knit blue scarf, with the words "lesbianism is a" in dark blue against a mid blue background. end ID]
so this is supposed to be a scarf, but im quickly realising that its not going to be very long if i stick with the original plan ("lesbianism is a blessing").
i dont know whether to:
finish the double knitting as planned, and then add some length to both sides with something simple (eg garter stitch)
or
continue the double knitting, adding a labrys (or similar symbol) and then a second phrase
id prefer option 2 aesthetically, but double knitting is basically twice as much knitting for the same result lengthwise. if anyone has any thoughts id be happy to hear them (i have wayyy too much yarn, so thats not an issue at all).

my first attempt at double knitting is this scarf- in-progress. it will eventually read "lesbianism is a blessing" (from an old pride march banner), but for now it just says "lesb".
[ID: a double-knit scarf with a cyan blue background and dark blue capital letters that read "L E S B". end ID]

(oh and theyre made using upcycled fabric! so more eco friendly)
[ID: white and grey fabric patches showing the faces of laika, belka, and strelka in a vertical line. their names are written in cyrillic above them. there are also some five pointed stars around them. the print uses black ink. end ID]

been replaying the last of us (and watching the hbo show, of course) and oh boy i forgot how many thoughts this game makes me have
[ID: a digital sketch of a “clicker” from the last of us. she is old, kurdish, and has fungal shelves growing on her face and neck. the fungal growths are larger on her right side. the lighting of the sketch mirrors this so that her more infected side is more shadowed than her other, more human, side. she looks calm, and her left eye is visible and open (but clouded). end ID]

How long will you survive?
silly concept i came up with while out for a walk today. i would love to turn this isnt a simple browser-based game one day, if i have the time.
[ID: a sketchy, digital drawing with text annotations. Handwritten letters read “Hostile Environment: The game” at the top. The game involves: the best powerchair you could afford (plus one pissed off disabled passenger) versus: bad parking, people not paying attention, shit pavements, ridiculously steep driveways, poorly placed wheelie bins, and no curb cuts. Each obstacle/ “enemy” is shown as text with an associated quick sketch representation, and the powerchair/ “player” is shown as a folding powerchair. end ID]

decided to try make a traditional(ish) abaya out of this cool fabric i found at a charity shop. its thick enough to provide some warmth but still nice and soft, so wont bother me :)
[ID: colourful patterned fabric, consisting of a mishmash grid of circles, triangles, and rectangles. on top of it are fabric scissors and a tape measure. end ID]
