FIRE CASES in CEBU CITY (2021)
Tumblr media
Fire prevention should always happen even when it’s not March. In a tropical and humid country like the Philippines, a man-made—and sometimes natural—disaster such as fire is always rampant and timely. It doesn’t just destroy properties, but it also ends the lives of many people.
Seeing data based on a research of fire cases from January to September 2021, the most affected by the fire are the residential areas, followed by mercantile and automobiles. Residential area cases aren't even a surprise to me anymore. A lot of urban poor communities in Cebu have houses made of light and wooden materials, and most houses are what we call in Filipino term "dikit-dikit" or houses that are very close to each other and a large number of affected household types are single or two-family dwellings. Most cases were also caused by electrical ignition caused by arcing, overloading and loosed wire connection—all happened by accident, but with one intentionally made, and unresponded. Most causes like children playing with fire, unattended candles, stoves and other home appliances are also rampant. But most fires are already put out upon arrival of alarms, and most affected structures per barangays only have one damaged establishment.
We see and hear news about fire almost often that we sometimes outlook the graveness of this phenomenon. The most important lesson here is to always be careful and ready for anything disastrous happenstance that could happen even in our safest abode. Always remember to turn off appliances, gadgets and corrosive materials before going out of the house and before sleeping time. Take care of our children, and don't allow them to play with fire or any material that might cause a fire. Learn emergency actions and mitigating factors in case you're trapped in an establishment that is on fire. Don't be too lenient. Be aware and educated. Because prevention will always be better than cure.

CONTENTS I WANT TO GO VIRAL People who know me personally would know how invested I am in watching K-drama and reading fiction books. With this favourite past-time of mine, I'd like to share to a wider audience my craft, and what inspires me on doing it all the time. I've been thinking of making podcasts, blogs and fan-made videos (FMVs) about my love for Asian movies, Korean dramas and the books I've read. Before, I've been doing a lot of those things on my Twitter account. I edit photos of my 'oppas', make short fan-made videos about them, and sometimes give movie reviews of the movies I've watched. In terms of audience, I noticed that most of the accounts I interact with on Twitter are Millennials and Gen Z, and most are girls, who are also avid viewers of k-dramas and avid readers of books. I think my way of making it known and viral is through Twitter and Facebook, given that I have many online friends I connect with within those social media platforms. Of course, when making podcasts, blogs, FMVs and even discussions, one should consider the uniqueness and relevance of your content in the contextual time. The main platform I'd use in disseminating my content would be Twitter. Twitter is where I engage with a lot of book lovers and k-drama fangirls in its community called #StanTwitter in where all 'stan accounts' interact with people who also idolize and admire their muses and idols, either an actor or a pop idol.
I think the biggest challenge for me would be how I'll be consistent in posting content that is in line with my agenda and goal as a content creator. My cardinal self only functions on formulating ideas, but I need further improvements when it comes to consistency is realizing those ideas I have in mind. There's no greater luck in doing a task that you also happen to love, so while I still have the chance to enjoy creating content about the things I love, I'll make the most out of it.

Content Creation is fun, but when we correlate fun with the expectations and demands of the client, the fun might be joined with stress and pressure. Content creation is not just a leisure and light activity everyone thought it was. And so here we are to find out more about the few things I learned about Content Creation.
Have you ever heard of how content creators and big companies find out about what’s ‘in’ for the people? These three tools are probably one of those that are a great help in knowing more about their audience through keyword-related data.
1. BUZZSUMO
Tumblr media
Buzzsumo is a platform where it helps content creators discover the current best engagement opportunities in social media. It lets you discover new keywords, most asked questions by customers and what’s trending, while still in line with your brand’s image.
2. GOOGLE TRENDS
Tumblr media
Google Trends is an online tool feature by Google that helps users determine the people’s timely search behaviour within all Google’s web-based products such as Google Videos, Google Images and Google Search, and Youtube. It even lets us find out how specific searches are made over a certain period of time.
3. ANSWER THE PUBLIC
Tumblr media
Answer the public is a customer insight keyword tool that shows people autocomplete data, search optimization, using keywords, to find out what currently most people have been asking around from Bing to Google.
All these online search tools are optimization that helps content creators and other professionals and expand knowledge about general information of anything timely and relevant about their target market, their competitors, and anything that could improve their brand image or reputation. Instead of using surveys that would probably take time, these online tools are heaven-sent and a type and clock away. With the use of keywords, most searched words and questions, these data could be of great use, especially by content creators. It would also help them in keeping in line with their company’s brand agendas and goals, fill in to which areas there that needs improvement, and these tools help them build strategies in audience engagement, and lean more into content relevancy from the audience themselves.
Indeed, with the advancement of these online tools, it brings great help to companies, and content creators in mitigating the means of gathering relevant data from their target audience.

Tools I use in Content Creation
Tools I used in Content Creation
At the height of Social Media’s influene in all our lives, content creation is not new to us anymore. The platform had given content creation to have a stage to play and attract audience even through digital screens. From everything we see online, we encounter numbers of products and information through content creation. From small businesses to big companies, content creation is one of the best ways to share and promote one’s product, and content creation is also a means for advocates to share their advocacy, for institutions to share knowledge, and for big media personalities to share their craft. But does content creation apply only to professionals?
The answer is, no. Even students like us can be content creators. As long as we are shharing information through creative means, with a goal in mind and skills to play, we can be content creators.
In fact, I believe I’ve been doing content creation way back then without even realizing it. School activities such as video making for environmental health awareness, poster and slogan making inetended for social issue awareness, and even contests such as digital poster making intended to promote our school have just ben a view of my content creation journey. I’ve been lucky enough that I’ve lived through the age where content creation is already accessible and easy online, than of those before the digital age.
Here are the essential tools I used in content creation:
Photoshop
Canva
Photo Editor
Picsart
Lightroom
Giphy
Grammarly
Capcut
BackgroundEraser
Tiktok
Tumblr media

Though one might need to pay to enjoy the over-all experience in Photoshop, it has been one of the best application in editing, reworking and correcting the photos you used for your content.

Tumblr media

A personal discovery which I kept my little secret since highschool, this application is only available for Android. This is basically the simplest, yet very handy tool especially on making book covers for online books and stories. This search engine let’s use search and embed short funny looping videos without a sound. Very useful especially in sharing funny online posts.
Tumblr media
Grammarly
This platform have helped me not just for creating content, but my whole student life as well. Not everyone can be pro in English and grammar, and that’s why Grammarly is here for. It let’s you locate which part of your narrative needs improvement or which one is poorly written. It also gives you suggestions on what to replace on your mistakes.
Tumblr media
Capcut
As a broke student who still doesn’t have a means to purchase pro-versions of video-maker app, Capcut has been my bestie. No need to pay to enjoy it’s superb and amazing features and tools, because all is free! Very user-friendly especially for making videos on your phones and tablets.
Tumblr media
BackgroundEraser
For some who can’t afford to pay for Photoshop, or for beginners, BackgroundEraser app is a life-saver. It let’s you erase a certain image’s background for your liking. This is very useful for graphic content starters.

about myself: introduction for digital publishing
Hi! I’m Adrianna R. Tampus, 21 years old Communication in Media student who loves leisure reading especially novel and poems, which influenced me a lot in my life. Watching asian films and series has always been a great pass time of mine. I’m a fangirl by heart, and I put great pride that my creativity is inspired by fangirling, and my day-to-day interests. I love making fan-made videos (fmv) of films and series that I watched and music is a healing for my soul. I sing, dance and act, and I play ukulele and guitar. After I graduate, I just want to have a job where I could still make use of my passion which is literature, film and media, while earning money. I took up this course to improve, learn and have an educational platform where I could channel more of my creativity.
Looking forward to learning more about digital publishing and of course, enjoy it while learning new things
