Izuku absolutely deserves to have his birthday become a world-wide holiday. Of SMT/Persona I've only played DemiKids Dark and Persona 4 Gold. Oh and faint memories of playing Strange Journey.

I've heard mixed things on Soul Hackers 2 but I've heard nothing but love for Persona 5. Would you rec either of them?

Oh I can never rec Persona 5 enough, although I would say get the Royal edition as it's the most complete version of the game. It's hands down one of my top 5 favorite games ever

The name getting shortened thing is SO fucking real. When my dad immigrated here they butchered his last name. Originally it was [father's last name] de [mother's maiden name]. But when he joined the military, they made his legal name [mother's maiden name][father's name] all in one big word. (It's also funny because apparently he's got a warrant for a traffic violation on him in his actual birth name ((from when he first came ove)) but since the military changed his name and that's what got put on all his legal stuff it's not something he can actually get arrested over)

The way that immigration can do this kind of thing can be both tragic and occasionally hilarious, and also capable of getting you out of traffic tickets so, silver lining?

Not a family name thing but want to know something funny with given names and the expected shortening of them? In my family a lot of guys are named Antonino. You'd expect them to be called Tony, yeah? Nah, every last one goes by Nino. Little Kid Me was so confused when got told niño meant boy as every Nino I knew - uncles and cousins alike - was an adult.

I've been living with my sister lately and tonight I had the house all to myself because she and my brother in law went out on a short vacation and since I was alone I slept with the music (like, various soundtracks with no singing) and? I had the best sleep of my life?? Istg I just woke up and I've never felt this rested before, I fell asleep in like 10 minutes? When usually I toss and turn for at least a couple of hours?? How am I meant to go back to sleeping without music when my sister comes back (I already tried wearing airpods but I move too much in my sleep and they fall out and I risk crushing them with my own body, I know because I lost my previous pair exactly like this)

maybe try either over the ear headphones or just turn the volume way down?

It's kind of weird to see someone complain about Italian names. The whole nitpicky of it all is just... dude chill out. Not every "common experience" is necessarily what others experience.

The inciting commenter is also forgetting (or purposefully ignoring) that people can immigrate to other countries in Europe before immigrating to America in a later generation. So an Italian family could move to England and then move to the US, and through it all still stay connected to their family's roots.

Also? It's fiction! A world of superheroes! If you're gonna flip out over an Italian-English woman's surname then boy howdy are you gonna be ripping your hair out over extraterrestrial aliens looking human or anything to do with the X-gene.

It was giving very 1-dimensional "this experience is the only correct experience" kind of prejudice vibes to me?? Which, to be completely fair, I obviously don't know the commenter so it could have just been a miscommunication of tone but still.

And yeah of all fandoms and fics to do it on they pick the superheroes and aliens fandom and then the mermaid AU
