Ok I just got to the end of chapter 1 of Cyrus's story and what the fuck did I just read.

Therese really thought that spreading a rumor about Cyrus being in an "illicit" relationship with an underage student would somehow get Cyrus to pay more attention to her?

Girl, your logic isn't logicing! Who the fuck thinks like that!? How did you NOT expect this to go in the one direction this could've gone!? And why is Cyrus going along with this!? WHAT KIND OF ACADEMY IS THIS!?

God this is reminding me of these teenagers on Twitter who are WAY too comfortable with threatening to dox people. Really glad I didn't start with Cyrus's story.

Anyways, fuck Therese. This insecure dipshit just soured Cyrus's entire story for me.

I've put about 15 hours into Octopath Traveler, and I'm still on the first chapters for every character. I'm almost finished, I just have Cyrus and H'aanit left, but dear god this is taking awhile.

This downtime is really good for grinding, though. I managed to find some of the subjob shrines and I've already specialized my main party for their ideal subclass. Olberic is an Apothecary, Ophilia is a Dancer, Tressa is a Thief, and Primrose is a Scholar.

One thing I was not expecting was the characters to actually change clothes when they adopted a new subclass, but I REALLY like the change. Especially for Primrose. It honestly looks like she's wearing an entire scholar jacket OVER her new black dancer duds. It's such a dumb design but MAN it looks good on her! Little mad that the change doesn't apply to the overworld sprites, but its whatever.

Primrose has quickly jumped to being my favorite character, and that is due in large part to how much of a fucking POWERHOUSE she is. We stan a woman on a quest for vengeance.

Please let the rest of her story be good. Don't fucking break my heart with shitty writing.

You never know true power until you figure out how to loop a boss and turn it into a pushover.

I've read that the Guardian of the First Flame is a roadblock boss for a lot of people, but I figured out that all of my current party members have something to break its shield, so I looped that motherfucker every other turn! And THEN I finished it and its Dark Wisps off with a boosted Luminescence from Ophilia!

Is it cheap? Yes, but DAMN that felt good!

Sidenote: I picked up Alwyn and Therion as temporary party members until I have access to everyone, and I find it absolutely hilarious that Therion's story lets you break into a manor, murder the guards for EXP, and then leave without a word.

So while reading up on Octopath Traveler, I found that Ophilia is one of the better healers/sorcerer's in the game, and I decided to go get her once I was free from Sunshade.

Imagine my surprise when I realized that Primrose's story literally just takes you to Ophilia as part of chapter 2.

That's neat!

So that Starfy post turned out to be prophetic because I started a brand new save file and made it to World 6 in under a day.

I am DETERMINED to finally finish the story mode for this damn game!

So fun fact: Years ago, I actually played The Legendary Starfy long before I ever even touched a Kirby game.

I was around 10 years old and I remember adoring the gameplay and the world. I must've poured 40 or so hours into the game, exploring the levels, searching for treasure, fucking around in the minigames, and...getting stuck on the bosses.

Yeah, I never actually managed to finish The Legendary Starfy. I managed to reach the penultimate world of the story mode, but I just...couldn't figure out how to get past a particular puzzle. And after getting frustrated with so many of the bosses, I just put the game down and haven't touched it since.

What sucks is that the old save file I used to have is long gone, so I'd have to start from the very beginning anyways if I wanted to play it again.

And y'know what? I really do want to play it again. Mainly because the few Starfy spirits in Smash Ultimate reminded me of the game's existence.
