Do you think Tord would notice if Matt had a spell of like...self concious...trauma induced stuff, like he goes quiet and stuff. I hope that makes sense. :3

Note: I turned this into Tord being uncaring when he realizes (gaslights himself into believing) it isn’t his fault.

Matt is, in my opinion, the type to shut down, let it get bottled up, and then explode.

At first Tord notices Matt becoming silent. Normally this ginger fuckhead is ALWAYS YAPPING.

Matt also does work at a very very steady pace. Something that would raise suspicion in Tord’s mind is when Matt is finished with his workload early, and asking for more things to do.

Tord would give Matt more and more things to do.

Matt would stay up late getting things done. And after Matt hadn’t slept for 2 days, Tord would just lie and say there wasn’t anymore work to do.

But Matt gets angry at this??

“You’re gonna fall behind. Patryck has work to do still, and I should lighten his load.”

Tord decides to question Matt’s lack of sleep, to which Matt just brushes off and says he’s been taking naps so it’s fine.

“Maybe you should take a break, Matt. You’ve been working so hard, and I appreciate it. However, we need you to be your best self.”

“Oh? Am I not my best self? Who’s fault is that, Tord?”

Like a drama queen, he storms out.

Tord has Patryck talk to him. He knows the two are closer.

Patryck doesn’t have any luck, and decides it would be best to take a little more extreme measures.

So they lock him in his room with orders to rest.

That’s when Matt throws a fucking fit.

“SURE! LOCK ME UP LIKE ALL OF MY OTHER FRIENDS. YOU PIECE OF SHIT! YOU CREATED THE WORLD WE’RE LIVING IN NOW! This is all YOUR FAULT.”

He’s banging on the doors, screaming at the top of his lungs. Hands pulling at his hair, scratching at his metal jaw.

“Sir-“

Tord holds a hand up, silencing Patryck.

“Matt, where is this coming from?”

Tord sounds concerned, worried for his friend on the other side of the door.

“You made me- you made me organize the supply for- I’ve been- YOU FORCED ME TO!”

Matt’s breaths sound labored, voice cracking with anguish. Pat’s face seems to flush, which doesn’t go unnoticed by Tord. Everything clicks together.

Recently Pat had assigned Matt to track and certify certain shipments of medical supplies. One specific shipment contained items for Tom. It was obvious that Matt knew what they were for. And Matt was forced to approve the package, and bring it into the base, where he knew Tom would suffer.

Pat and Tord give each other a look, not knowing what exactly to do. They both wait on the other to do something. Pat is closer with Matt, but Tord knows more about his friendships and life.

“Im sorry, Matt. That was something I overlooked.”

In reality, it was in fact Matt’s job to do what Pat told him to. But he was also his friend, so it made situations like these complicated.

“I’m going to give you the next 3 days off. We’ll talk about this another time. But there’s nothing you can do about Tom right now. Just try to rest.”

Pat looks over at Tord in shock, wincing as Matt starts cussing them both out. He had expected Tord to be a bit softer.

“Pat. He’s your problem. I have things to do. He helped us get ahead of schedule, so fix this.”

He is absolutely an animal crossing guy. Patryck doesn’t have a lot of games, but he has Animal Crossing.

He also definitely has scribblenauts, Minecraft, and Tetris.

If he had a DS he would play tomodachi life and make his fellow soldiers into little characters. Definitely would keep Tord updated on all the romance and arguments happening in the game.

Btw, this is kinda like prologue. You don’t actually meet Tord in this part. I PROMISE IM WORKING ON THE NEXT PART. This just started feeling way too long for me.

You were born 8 years after Tord was born.

Growing up with him was filled with bickering, but also a scary undying loyalty from his end.

God, you wish you could go back in time and relive those days. He was your go-to for almost everything. Your best friend.

He moved out to search for apartments when he was 21. You were just about 13 at the time.

House after house, apartment after apartment, Tord had trouble getting on his feet. But throughout your teenage years you stayed in contact. You two stayed very close.

Until one day, when you were turning 18, All of Tord’s social medias seemed to just disappear. You had decided to reach out to him, blowing up his phone, but he never responded. You asked his roommates what happened.

They said he just left in a hurry. He packed his things and was gone.

For a long time you obsessed over finding him. You gave up after a few years.

You moved out when you were 20, able to find your own apartment and get on your feet relatively easily.

You had never forgotten about your brother. The way he abandoned you. Left everything behind.

You knew he wasn’t kidnapped. He obviously took the time and effort to wipe himself off the face of the internet.

And sure, you cried and screamed and threw a fit for a while, but eventually you decided to put it behind you.

Plus, all that is the least of your worries when you start to notice a car outside of your apartment. Tinted windows. You couldn’t see inside. It would park on your street and stay there.

For the next week things felt off. The whole town seemed tense. You would occasionally see strangely dressed figures lurking around town in blue trench coats.

Eventually, someone got out of the car. And they came to your door.

It was a man with an upside-down name tag, you could barely make it out.

He explained to you that your brother wanted to see you. Tord wanted to see you. He explained that you could go willingly or go fighting.

A part of you was curious, but this was certainly an odd way of reaching out. You didn’t trust it.

But still, you complied. Plus, this dude was carrying a gun.

He told you to pack your things. Personal items and any medication. He explained that all toiletries, clothing and food would be covered by Tord.

Something twisted in your gut. Something was wrong. Something told you that you weren’t gonna see this place again.

While packing, you decided to call the cops. The phone call didn’t go through. Actually, nothing seemed to go through to anyone. You tried to reach out for help, but all your communications were seemingly cut.

The man seemed to notice these attempts, but didn’t say anything.

After about 20 minutes, he was ushering you into the backseat of the car. There was another man in the driver’s seat.

He looked serious and mean. Cold. He didn’t even give you a glance.

It was a long drive, and any questions you asked were just met with silence. You tried to open up your door at one point, but it was locked. Child safety or whatever.

Eventually you pass out. It gets late, and you’re just being driven on empty roads.

Of course, eventually you do end up at the Red Army base.

And it isn’t likely that you’ll be leaving anytime soon.

Can I ask a question about ur Eddsworld AU, so does Tom ever find out that Edd’s been captured and like- interrogated? Will the two somehow come into contact? (Also I absolutely love the au aaaa)

I’ve been thinking about this ask for so so long actually and my brain is so stumped HELP.

I think, eventually, they would come into contact again. Edd would be a prisoner for years, and Tom would eventually be made a member of the Red Army after good behavior.

I think, Tord would totally dangle the idea of seeing Edd again over Tom’s head.

Tom and Edd need couples therapy so bad btw omfg. They used to care about each other so so much. But then Edd abandoned them, never even called or brought them into the rebellion.

Tord controls pretty much every aspect of Edd’s life once he’s captured, so he’ll only see Tom when Tord allows it.

By the time Edd and Tom finally see each other again, Tom is already somewhat loyal to the Red Army, as is no longer a prisoner.

Hello! This is how Tord feels about everyone! I’ll probably do more characters another time :3

Starting with how he feels about Edd.

Tord never really had any issues with the guy. He was a pleasant roommate, and they used to get along pretty well.

Even when coming back, Edd and Tord are pretty chill!

But everything shifts when Edd forms the Resistance. Tord was honestly ready to just take Edd in, make him a solider, and keep tabs on him. Tord really did plan to treat him well.

Despite Edd actively trying to destroy the Red Army, Tord genuinely admires his determination and wit.

Tord does in fact feel betrayed by Edd, but assumes the other also feels betrayed.

Okay. Tord HATES Tom.

Kinda

Thinks Tom is stubborn, stupid, rude, unpleasant, unmotivated.

But SO insanely strong. Especially with the monster abilities.

Tord does feel a bit bad for all of the experiments, but he really can’t be bothered to try and make Tom feel at home.

Unless Tom decides to start cooperating. Maybe then Tord will let up on him a little.

They never got along in the first place

Tord genuinely cares for Matt. And Matt has seemed very accepting of the idea of joining Tord.

Matt doesn’t seem to have any internal drive or heavy ambition, but he can get tasks done pretty well.

He’s always been kind to Tord. He has a great personality, and always lightens up the mood.

Overall, they’re friends.

They just don’t talk about Matt’s face. Ever.

Tord is besties with Patryck.

I’m not even exaggerating when I say besties.

They are genuinely best friends. Pat has been there for Tord over and over and over again, always providing emotional and mental support.

Pat is always taking tasks and work off of Tord’s hands.

Tord admires Pat in every single way, and is immensely inspired by him.

They are literally two peas in a pod. They are tight as fuck.

Tord sees Paul as an older brother/mentor figure.

Tord has INSANE respect for Paul.

Like will literally stand at attention with the rest of his army if Paul is commanding.

Paul took Tord under his wing. It was rough and stressful at first. Physical discipline from Paul hurt. Tord had been hit before, but holy shit Paul had a strong hand.

Tord is loyal to Paul until he fucking dies.

Hi again mootieee... I wish I was kidding when I said this blog owned my brain a bit. How do you think it'd go if Tord found out Matt visited Tom a lot? May be a platonic yandere opportunity. :3

This isn’t really a Platonic Yandere thing. Maybe kinda? IDK MAN. It’s just dark. But oh em GEE! This was so fun to write.

NOT proofread. Might do it later.

CW: Violence, Threats (kinda?), non-consensual drugging (Tom gets Tranqed), Electrocution (also Tom), Heavily implied interrogation, implied starvation if you squint VERY hard

Tord would NOT be happy at all.

He’d start to notice Matt missing during lunch. So he’d check the cameras, only to find Matt slipping off to the lab. Apparently he had stolen a security card

Tord storms to the lab, making his way to Tom’s cell. He really didn’t know what he was more angry about. The theft, sneaking food to Tom, seeing Tom at all, the secrecy.

Things here ran a certain way. He couldn’t have Matt fucking anything up. Only authorized personnel were even allowed in the lab. And Matt was sure as hell not fucking authorized.

Matt is sat down in front of Tom when the door opens behind him. They conversation stops immediately.

Tord storms in, two workers following him. One confiscates the food while the other electrocutes Tom with what looks like a modified cattle prod. Matt can hear the crackle of the shock as it rings the the air, and Tom can’t even choke out a scream before Matt gets dragged away.

Matt is certainly kicking and shouting. He just saw his friend get absolutely leveled for doing nothing wrong at all.

Tord has an iron grip on Matt’s upper arm, dragging him away from the lab. He tries not to hurt Matt, but the amount of struggling becomes annoying. It only adds to his rage.

So, he throws Matt into a nearby wall. Matt seems to try and get up. Tries to get out of this. Tord grabs a fistful of his hair and slams him to the ground.

This man is FUMING.

Tord doesn’t really yell. He keeps his composure. But not here.

“MATT! I HAVE EXECUTED SOLDIERS FOR MUCH LESS THAN THE FUCKING- VIOLATIONS YOU ARE COMMITTING!”

Matt seems frozen. On the ground, Tord towers over him which a gaze so disgusted that he feels like he’s about to get ripped limb from limb.

Tord takes a minute to breathe, running a hand through his hair to try and calm himself down.

“You are lucky I like you. If you were any other soldier, you would be dead. I can make your life a living hell. But I don’t! I treat you well! This- THIS is the kind of shit you pull?”

Tord sounds furious, disgusted, almost hurt?

God, if this were any other soldier, they would be taken in for questioning. They would be tortured. And once Tord had the information he wanted, they would be publicly humiliated and executed.

Tord seems to say something into the mic connected to his earpiece, before looking down at Matt. And Matt can see the switch in Tord’s eyes. From emotional to completely business.

“We will talk about this later. I have things to do. Patryck will retrieve you and escort you to your room.”

Matt takes a shaky breath, standing up. He looks at Tord in confusion. A few moments ago he thought he was gonna get shot. Now he’s just getting sent to his room?

It’s almost as if Tord reads his mind.

“You’re on probation indefinitely. You will wake up and wait at your door until Patryck retrieves you. You will work with Patryck, eat with Patryck, and be escorted back to your room by him at the end of your shift.”

He pauses, turning around to leave.

“I won’t hesitate to put you back in a cell Matt. Do not forget your place here.”

Aftermath Snipbit

Tord and Matt do in fact talk about it. In the form of Matt being handcuffed to a table in their interrogation room.

Tord makes it very clear what exactly would happen to Matt if he were anyone else.

But they also come to an agreement.

With good behavior, Matt will be allowed one 60 minute visit with Tom every 2 weeks, all supervised and recorded by Patryck.

Poor Patryck, has to babysit the ginger.

But hey, new work buddy! They actually become pretty good friends.

And oh ya, Tom totally got tranquilized after getting electrocuted. They were so “scared” he would get so angry that he would turn into his monster form. (They really just don’t give a shit. They treat him like a rabid dog.)

Idk what to call my AU, but here are some character descriptions and hcs.

CW: mentioned war, mentioned torture, mentioned suicidal ideation, imprisonment, isolation.

General

When the main 4 were living together, Tord was 25, Edd was 25, Tom was 24, and Matt was 23.

Tord moved away when he turned 26

And then 3 years later he comes back, now 28.

And within a month, He is kicked out cause all of the events in The End.

The invasion happens a year later. When Tord had time to regroup.

Tord

Doesn’t show his face. He wears a very silly red armored mask.

5’8

He’s an inventor, engineer, scientist. This man is SO smart.

He knew about Tom’s Monster form for a while. Even before he moved out. He just didn’t say anything.

More focused on work than romance or even friendship.

Absolutely no restraint or hesitation on the battlefield.

Very much addicted to smoking. It’s to the point where he claims he can’t think straight if he doesn’t smoke.

Really wishes Edd and Tom were just random people instead of old friends, because now he feels guilt and remorse hurting them.

Paul is like an older brother figure to him.

Patryck is someone Tord met when he moved away originally. They totally met at the gym.

Paul

In this AU, Paul is actually a HUGE behind the scenes guy.

The Red Army was his idea originally.

In fact, he was going to be the leader.

But he met Tord, and saw CRAZY potential.

Convinced Tord to move away and train underneath him.

Listen, this man has like maxed out charisma. Convinced this little red guy to leave his entire life behind.

Tord is the face of the Red Army, and the one making most of the decisions. Paul is like his advisor.

Didn’t actually like Patryck at the start, but they work as fine coworkers. They can get along pretty well now.

Paul is 5’10

In his early 40s

Patryck

Patryck was a regular dude going to college and studying Supply Chain Management and Information Systems.

This guy is a businessman through and through.

Tord tried to convince him to join the Red Army, but Patryck insisted that he finish college first.

And he DID!! But during college, Patryck would train with Paul and Tord. He learned how to handle melee weapons, firearms, etc.

In his early 30s.

5’11

He really likes video games. Keeps a Nintendo Switch in his room at the Red Army base.

Really wants to grow out his hair, but Paul and Tord have instructed that it can’t be longer than shoulder length due to safety precautions.

Normally has his hair in a ponytail or man bun.

Tom

Okay so Tom’s monster form is like 20 feet tall.

While in his monster form, he isn’t really conscious.

He can kinda control when he turns into his full monster form, but can’t control when he turns back human.

Has this half human half monster form? But it varies. The more monster-like he is, the more foggy his brain gets.

REALLY bad suicidal ideation. He tries to remain strong and tough, but after about a year of being in a lab, it starts to eat away at him.

5’10

The most notable traits of his monster form are razor-sharp claws, teeth, a spiky tail, horns, and purple literally everywhere.

He isn’t allowed to talk to Edd. Isn’t even informed that Edd is captured.

Ever since experiments started, Tom’s craving proteins a lot more, and eats a lot more food in general, since he has to maintain his monster form for longer.

Once Tom starts cooperating, he gets little rewards! Like being able to talk to Matt, extra rest time, comfortable clothes, longer showers, even gets to go outside sometimes.

Edd

Oh boy.

When Edd abandoned Matt, he ran to start the Resistance.

Edd REALLY misses Tom. Regrets not staying around for him.

REALLY good with melee weapons.

Unmatched rage towards Tord. Towards any Red Army soldier. And now that Matt joined the Red Army, only proving Edd right, he now has unmatched rage for Matt.

If Edd and Tom were actually able to talk to each other, they would plan their escape.

Like actually HATES Tord. Hates him more than anything.

5’9

Really misses how things used to be.

Regrets ever letting Tord back in their home.

He feels like all of this is his fault, and that he could’ve prevented it.

Constantly replaying his past in his head, thinking about what he could’ve done differently.

Stays in an isolated cell after his capture. Only a handful of soldiers are allowed to interact with him.

Tord keeps him painfully updated on Resistance survivors that have joined the Red Army since his capture.

Matt

First of all, he’s 6’2.

He isn’t imprisoned for that long compared to Tom and Edd. He’s only in a cell for like 2ish months before being let out. This is mainly because he gave up fighting about a month in, but Tord needed to make sure Red Army actually had Matt’s loyalty, and it wasn’t just a lie.

Matt went from the cell straight into duties, becoming an official member of the Red Army.

Matt works as the supply manager?? Idk the right name for it, but he tracks food and water supply. He’s Patryck’s assistant too.

Matt takes on a few other duties here and there. He doesn’t do anything battlefield related.

Matt is also tasked with showing new recruits around the main base.

He has a room right next to Tord’s.

Sneaks away to bring Tom food or to just talk with him.

Matt cares a lot about his friends. In this timeline, Matt actually becomes close friends with Tord and drifts away from Tom and Edd.

AMAZING at teamwork. Always looks out for red army soldiers, and makes sure any allies feel safe and welcomed.

Animal lover

Stops by Tom’s cell just to talk to him or sneak him food.

Very supportive, positive, and encouraging.

Organized.

Is against doing violence! This man will NOT go and fight for Red Army. (Doesn’t care if others are violent though.)

Actually advises against torturing Edd and Tom..

Too Bad to be considered Good

Completely indifferent to what Tord is doing to Tom.

More focused on what the Red Army has done for him, rather than what it’s doing to others.

Doesn’t believe in second chances.

Holds grudges forever. If you cross him it’s a one-and-done deal. (Lmao he is NOT helping Edd when he gets captured.)

Understands that Tord is awful, but Tord is nice to HIM, so he doesn’t really care.

Condescending and COLD ASF.

Brutally honest. Like in a mean way. He’ll just say shit like “That sucked.” , “Do better, that was awful”, or “You look disgusting.”

Very self-centered.

Being paraded in front of a crowd—dragged behind a horse maybe, pulled along by a length of rope around their wrists

Whumper forcing Whumpee to walk behind them on a leash

Whumpee’s hair being forcibly cut or shaved

Forced to walk barefoot, or without any clothes at all

Public trials or executions

Public mock executions, where Whumpee can see for themself that no one will help them. The crowd cheers for their death.

Being whipped, caned, birched, or belted

Being restrained in a way that leaves them vulnerable to the whims of a crowd—the stocks, the post, a stress position, or simply being held down by a few guards

Public demotion or exile

Forced to complete humiliating tasks as a form of entertainment or punishment

Forced to kneel or bow to/beside Whumper

Eddsworld Future HCS

This is actually based off of my Matt Angst ask tbh. I think I’m just gonna roll with this timeline for a lot of my works.

Anyways, here’s how each character ended up getting captured by Red Army.

CW: Vague starvation, guns, blood & violence, imprisonment, implied torture, gore, depictions of war

Tom

Tom was the first of the three to be captured by the Red Army.

He left the makeshift shelter he made with Matt. They needed food. They hadn’t eaten in a few days, and Matt wasn’t looking good. So, Tom was the one who had to go out to get food.

Nobody knew about his monster form. But having it gave him a bit more energy.

Of course, using that extra energy meant exposing some of his monster-like features. Claws, tail, purple scaly skin. It was a last resort, really.

He had tried to disguise himself best he could. Long trench-coat, hiding his hands in his pockets, hiding his face underneath a hood.

Things actually became a lot easier when he took out a stray Red Army soldier and stole their uniform and gun. Apparently, a protein bar in the solider’s pocket was enough to tide Tom over. He didn’t have to maintain a monster form anymore. At least for the next little while. He needed more food.

But when someone that looks to be a soldier is found away from their station, questions arise.

And when that stray soldier attacks another soldier, normally backup is called.

The Red Army soldiers stationed in Tom’s general area were all called to hunt him down. Obviously, Tom shifted halfway to his monster form to run. He would’ve shifted all the way if it weren’t for him being so malnourished.

The chase didn’t last long. At least no bullets were shot, as the men had been instructed to not hurt Tom too severely.

Although, a taser and a tranquilizer was enough to get Tom on the ground, groaning and heaving as soldiers approached him.

Black spots littered his vision and the world was spinning. He could hear shouting, feel hands in his hair, metal click around his wrists. Just as he felt himself being lifted up off the ground by his shoulders, he was out cold.

Tom is transported to a lab. It’s more like a prison cell with medical equipment.

Matt

Matt is captured maybe a week after Tom is.

Matt had been eating scraps out of trashcans to get by.

The one time he braves a walk into a rundown abandoned convenience store, two strangers try to force him to the ground, talking about how much money they’ll make.

They seem to be in their own worlds for a second, and Matt takes that opportunity to get up and book it.

He could hear gunshots and shouting. Adrenaline fueled his every step.

Up until there was a loud bang and a flash, and Matt was on the ground. Nothing even hurt yet. He tried to scream, but all that came out were gurgles. Matt didn’t even have the chance to register his missing jaw before he was unconscious.

Soldiers caught up to the two bounty hunters. But upon seeing the state Matt was in, the bounty hunters were detained as they waited for Red Leader to arrive to the scene.

The moment Tord saw the state Matt was in, the two bounty hunters got bullets straight to the face, no questions asked.

Matt was rushed to a hospital. Tord’s best doctors got on the job of keeping him alive and implementing a prosthetic.

Edd

Edd is the last one to get captured. It takes two whole years for the Red Army to track him down. Tord assumed he was the leader of the resistance, but could never pinpoint where he was.

Edd continuously works to fight against the Red Army. The resistance is certainly smaller than the opposing army, smaller than most factions, but it’s nothing to scoff at. The resistance is ruthless. Merciless to soldiers.

It actually takes several spies to organize an ambush on Edd.

They get Edd while he’s sleeping. It takes five soldiers to restrain Edd. They take him out to the front of his bass, as he is forced to watch as Red Army soldiers capture every resistance member who surrenders, and kill ever member who fights or runs.

After enough blood is shed, and Edd is shaking with grief and rage, he gets knocked in the back of the head, and everything snaps to black.

He’s transported to a cell for interrogation. And he won’t be leaving for a long time.

Hi it's me again :3 give me angst hcs for a Tord x Matt pairing maybe?? Or for Tom x Matt!

Maybe I will do BOTH.

In this ask, everything is set in a timeline where Red Army invades very soon after The End. Like a months or two after Matt, Edd, and Tom move into a new apartment.

Note: I LOVE this ask guys. I didn’t really capture the angst like I could have in a fic. But I certainly described it!! Also, I didn’t implement any romance….. if you want that I can make another hc list :3

But NORMALLY I do platonic stuff.

CW: Gun violence, mentions of war, implied torture if you squint really hard, gore, near death experience, implied kidnapping, body horror. Let me know if I missed anything!

Tom & Matt Angst

For this, I’m honestly thinking about Matt and Tom getting separated first. Red Army invades, all 3 run, but Tom gets separated from Matt and Edd.

I think Edd would abandon Matt pretty quickly after feeling like Matt is slowing him down. Matt would have trouble swallowing his fear of what’s happening in the start, and Edd wouldn’t stick around with someone who he thinks could shift and join the Red Army, or surrender.

Matt would have to learn how to manage things on his own and fast.

Tom and Matt would regroup at some point, probably after Tom fends off some soldiers trying to attack Matt.

Maybe on his knees, shaking, with a soldier’s gun to his head. And then he sees the dude drop dead right in front of him. Tom runs up to Matt. THATS when they regroup, and Matt explains how Edd left. This totally won’t cause Tom a long-living grudge and hatred for Edd! I’m sure!!

Things will certainly get difficult when WANTED posters start showing up everywhere they go, and radio stations start to broadcast a description of Tom, Matt, and Edd, expressing the Red Army wants them to be turned in ALIVE.

There are different bounties on each of them. It seems like Tom is the one most sought out by the Red Army.

Matt certainly tries to convince Tom to surrender. It’s hard to get by on little food and shelter. Matt expresses that maybe Red Leader is trying to help them. Tord wants them alive. Not dead, not even hurt.

Tom inevitably gets kidnapped first, probably out to sneak by and steal food, leaving Matt at their current shelter.

Matt thinks Tom abandoned him too.

When Tom is kidnapped, he stands his ground for months. He doesn’t give in, doesn’t talk, withstands torture.

The next time he sees Matt, he’s in a Red Army uniform. Tom feels so betrayed, still being stuck in a cell. It’s obvious that Matt surrendered, gave in. Something else happened, considering the prosthetic face bits.

Their friendship is never the same. Matt is certainly forced to partake in watching over Tom. Tord encourages the idea that Tom abandoned him, so there is a constant feeling of anger between the two.

Tord & Matt Angst

Matt HATES Tord. At least in the beginning. Matt was the one who beat the shit out of him in The End with the robot.

But seeing his beautiful face on posters, saying Tord needed him alive? It put a little hope in his heart. Maybe Tord didn’t really mean to hurt him.

At some point, a while after he had captured Tom, Tord got a call about Matt having been captured.

What Tord didn’t know is that the people who captured him didn’t get the whole “Wanted Alive” memo.

Needless to say, they were both killed on sight the moment Tord arrived to retrieve Matt.

Matt was critical condition. He tried to run from the bounty hunters, but ended up getting shot in the head. Pretty gnarly, took his entire jaw off. But he somehow survived with only a severe flesh wound.

He was in a coma for a while. Tord really didn’t know if Matt would live, and wished he could go back and make the death of the bounty hunters a bit slower.

Tord considered Matt to be a friend of his. Leaving him in the first place hurt. Hurting him hurt. In the moment of exploding the house, Tord was filled with rage and nothing else. It was all meant to be taken out on Tom. Not Matt and Edd.

But afterwards, guilt ate away at him, gnawing at his bones until he was nauseous.

When Matt woke up, Tord stayed by his side for days, letting Paul and Pat take over duties for him.

Matt wasn’t a fan of this. Being cuffed to a hospital bed made it difficult to beat the shit out of Tord for all the awful things he did.

Matt found that he couldn’t speak. Just make noises. Apparently his tongue was still in tact, which was good. But having your jaw ripped off your face kinda inhibits your ability to communicate.

Tord tried to accommodate for this. He wanted so badly to explain everything to Matt. To hear what he had to say. To try and find some common ground. So he gives Matt tablet and notepad. It was his choice which one he wanted to communicate with.

But Matt wouldn’t indulge, and his days were spent moping, crying, and ignoring everything Tord had to say.

Of course, during all of these visits to Matt, Tord is telling Tom that Matt surrendered and is living a life of luxury.

Also, here’s a big kicker guys, Tord refuses to give Matt a mirror. No reflective surfaces at all.

Even after the surgery to implement the prosthetic jaw.

Of course, that wasn’t even the main concern. Getting Matt to be able to use it was WORK. Especially when the only time he accepted physical and speech therapy, the only words that would come out of his mouth were insults.

Slowly, Matt starts to break. He’s allowed out of the hospital room, even eventually allowed to see Tom. Of course, Tord tells Matt that Tom abandoned him.

It makes Matt rely on Tord a little bit. For like, ALL his emotional support. Tord is happy to help.
