I got so sick of the cheesy Christmas playlist at work so I snuck in a version of All I Want For Christmas Is You where half way through the vocals change to Welcome To The Black Parade

Watching the customers slow down and squint in confusion is giving me life.

So I started my first DnD session

And so far its been. An experience. Long story short; I’m playing a druid “Like you would expect a rouge” according to my DM (See someone running down the street? Just jump down three floors to follow them.), and my DM HATES my rolls. Also I have a pet raven and i love it. The story so far: First encounter was a wolf pack. My other players makes a ton of bad rolls and almost dies. I  climb a hill, take a running leap, roll a nat 20 to make an acrobatics landing onto a wolf then make two critical failures on my duel wielding attacks. I take critical damage, manage to make another acerobatics save into climbing a tree, I heal, then kill two wolfs by throwing a bottle of oil at them and setting the ground on fire with produce flame. I use Healing word again to save my other player, he tanks two more kits before getting knocked down again, then I kill the alpha with my melee. So far so good. We get back to town, my DM starts actual lore stuff/ world building. I manage to intimidate a shop keeper three times into paying my almost twice an items value.  My raven likes to fly around the market and pick up shiny things. This is where my roll start getting frustrating. The next day my and the other player do to a Temple, every time I so a perception check, history check, arcane check, etc, I manage to basically roll a nat 20 or manage to make a high enough roll that my DM has to reveal all the lore and secrets hes planned so far. We easily solve the puzzle because of this. Then combat starts, i roll more failing throws and almost get killed by an awakened bush.  Next part of the temple, more history/arcane wins. My DM at this point is getting frustrated and tries to intimidate us with a big bad monster. More perception check wins, its only an illusion. I set an ancient war god free. The DM tried to just blow up the temple at this point. More saving throws. We escape. We get back to town, DM introduces new plot. My character makes more History, perception, and arcane check wins, uncovers the entire plot in like a few hours. My GM is pissed at this point because at this point, were both only at level 1 but have managed to skip like 7-8 of the quests he planned out to have us learn stuff gradually, and at this point are near the end game of what he had spent a week planning out. So at this point, were two days into our adventure and have unleashed an ancient god which is tied into a cult thats trying to fame a powerful exiled elf for local murders to draw attention away from their plot to control the local government. The elf is seeking revenge on the cult for cursing him several hundred years ago, resulting in his exile. My characters reaction? Return to his room at the local, cheep inn, insult the bar keeper and get served a poisoned bowl of food (partly in an attempt to kill him off so we can just restart and fix this mess.)  My character makes full saving throw's then cures him self with a nat 20 medicine check. My DM has given up.
