I saw this guy in front of me who was a real man. He was solid and he was strong. He would protect me, but he got me. I knew all that when we started dating. But that moment, when I realized how much he cared for Rory, that was it. Suddenly I knew I was ready.

Guys, so I know I've been slacking on my rewatch, sorry, work's been crazy. I'm hoping to catch back up some this week. Anyway, I wanted to share this link because this weekend I went to this Geek Craft Mall Expo in STL and omg it was amazing! I got so much great stuff and I got to support local and small artists who sold their stuff at reasonable prices. This link is for one of the shops there and she's amazing. This dress is specifically GG and I wish she'd had it there, but I did get a Beetlejuice dress (this isn't the best view)
Tumblr media
But she designs the prints and makes her dresses. She has so many interesting ones and she'll even do custom made, she also goes up to size 5XL! The material stretches and is so comfy. So here's the link for GG dress, check her out. She makes not just dresses, but tunics, kimonos and purses and all kinds of stuff. I know it may seem like a lot to pay for a dress, but for something she does all the work for and isn't found in stores it's not bad

“Back off Chevalier!” Maurice Chevalier was a French actor, cabaret singer and dancer. His most notable song is “Thank Heaven For Little Girls”. He served briefly during WWI and was injured shortly into service and held as POW, during WWII he was apparently harboring a Jewish family so the Nazis tried to lure him away from his home on tour. It didn’t work, however he did perform for POWs in Germany at the same camp he had been held captive during WWI and as a result was able to get 10 French soldiers freed in exchange. His final film contribution was singing the title song to Disney’s The Aristocats
“I am the Artie Shaw of harpists” Artie Shaw was a man who did it all y’all. He was a clarinetist, bandleader, composer, actor and an author. He is widely regarded as one of jazz’s finest clarinetists and was most well know for his band’s recording of “Begin the Beguine” by Cole Porter. He was also one of the earliest proponents of the type of music, later known as Third Stream music. It is blended elements of classical and jazz forms and traditions.
“You once told me you love Saved by the Bell” Ok, let me preface this by saying how dare Lorelai make this sound so terrible when it is amazing
Tumblr media
Moving on... Saved by the Bell was a sitcom that ran on NBC from 1989-1993. It took place in Bayside, California and follwed 6 teenagers in high school. Like ANY good sitcom it was cheesy and also touched heavy issues from time to time. It had the typical formula, but it was fantastic! It had such follow up series with the characters Saved by the Bell:The College Years which only ran for 1 season. However, we did get such wonderful 90s made-for-tv movies such as Saved by the Bell:Hawaiian Style and Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas. In case you feel the need to watch of the amazing-ness of SBTB, all of them are available on Hulu!

“Ok, Bob Barker” Take a seat kiddos and let me tell you about the superior host of “The Price is Right”. Don’t get me wrong, Drew Carey is fine and all, but Bob Barker was too legit to quit. Bob Barker was the man who cared for me on my days home from school. Bob Barker cared about my pets being spayed and neutered. Bob Barker also had an amazing cameo in “Happy Gilmore”.
“I’d rather have my face surgically altered to look like that lunatic rich lady with the lion head” Said lady, is Jocelyn Wildenstein who has had over $4 million on plastic surgery to make herself appear more catlike so she could please her ex-husband who apparently had a thing for big cats. She was married to Alex Wildenstein and they apparently had a messy divorce; she catches him cheating with a much younger woman, he threatens her with a gun, rules stipulate she can’t use alimony payments for anymore plastic surgery, the judge receives death threats, she sells their home for millions, and she ended up with $100 million for each year they were married. They were married 12. Rich people
“How about a Polaroid?” I miss Polaroids and while they are kind of making hipster comeback with the “instax” it’s not the same. There was something about taking a picture and having it spit out right there and watching it develop. They were there before the 90s, but they kind of blossomed during that time and into the early 2000s, especially with the fun sticker ones

“It’s Peyton Place.” A primetime soap opera that ran on ABC from 1964-1969 and we can all thank this because it launched the beginning of primetime soaps. It had 514 episodes broadcast in both black and white and color. It had so many major players in the show and was so popular that though it was only supposed to air twice a week, it aired three times. Its cast included Mia Farrow, Ryan O’Neal, Leslie Nielsen and Gena Rowlands. It was based on a 1956 novel which also had a film adaptation in 1957, but the show had vast changes. It went downhill went Mia asked to be written out, at  (her then husband) Frank Sinatra’s suggestion. Apparently she didn’t realize it was going to be so popular and didn’t want to stay on contract. But, for Peyton Place I give my thanks, because without you I would’t have a great many shows

“I’m trying to see if there’s a hunchback in the bell tower” The Hunchback of Notre Dame was originally written by Victor Hugo in 1831. There have been multiple adaptations of the novel from comic, musical theater, ballets, plays, films, television, radio and music. One of the more pop culture adaptations is Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame which was released in 1996 and lort Jesus I feel old as fuck because I remember when it came out.
“I look like that chick in The Dukes of Hazzard” So, “that chick” is Daisy Duke. She wore short denim shorts known as “Daisy Dukes” The Dukes of Hazzard was a show that ran from 1979-1985 and was very popular. It followed the Duke family, most specifically Bo and Luke who are cousins living in a fictional county (Hazzard) in Georgia. They are foiling schemes of a local corrupt politician every episode in their Charger named General Lee. A movie was made in 2005, but let’s just ignore that monstrosity...

“All work and no play, have you not seen The Shining?” The Shining is a 1980 film based off of Stephen King’s 1977 novel. It is about a  novelist who gets a job taking care of a resort that shuts down for a period of months and is left with only him and his wife and son to take care of it in the off season. The quote Lorelai is referencing is “All work and no play makes Jack dull boy” I don’t want to go into too much detail about this in case anyone hasn’t seen this and doesn’t know about it. However, if you haven’t seen it, it is a good film, even if Stephen King isn’t a fan, and I can’t see here he is coming from, but still... I honestly hadn’t seen this up until 2016, so no judgement if you haven’t
Also, per my post, feel free to ask me questions!

Just a note on the rewatch references, they do so many references/mentioning of people during an episode that I only plan on doing the ones that aren't the most obvious references. If you see I watched an ep and didn't reference something, but you have questions, feel free to ask though! I hope you guys will enjoy this and I will TRY and do an episode a day, but I work 2 jobs so it may not always be feasible.
