I have a HeadCannon that Karasu use to be one of the Royal Generals. Being the guardian, eyes and messenger of the old king, him and barb was consider the most trust worthy guards in all of the kingdom. Once the old king was put to rest he had no issues helping barb help raise the little prince. However...seeing how the prince Diavolo started to become extremely different from his father, Karasu started to be rebellious. Not accepting the new ideals of things being brought together especially with the celestial realm. He retired from the royal guards and begin going against the kingdom.

Rivaling barbs powers they know they can't simply just capture him. Which gives him his cocky attitude as he enjoys teasing barb and causing trouble for Dia. Catching wind of the exchange program, he already had plans to cause trouble. What he wasn't expecting was one particular human to have very special powers. And was a good candidate to cause hell(hah a pun :P). Karasu magically appears on your phone and aids the MC on their journey. Giving them a somewhat all seeing eye. Mostly why MC can read messages that don't belong to them and get the full view on whats going on. Help giving them tips on how to strength the bond with the demon brothers and increase their powers(woohoo glow sticks) Even though karasu seems like he is doing good in MC eyes. His only purpose is to see chaos happen. And all the brothers to be rebellious towards the kingdom for MC instead of standing with Diavolo. He just want to see the new kingdom fall and a better dark ruler take his place.  

Small side note Him and Mammon gets somewhat along. More like allies then friends. Criminals know Criminals after all lol
