Something that I'd like to explore more with Yuta is his current mental and physical state/health. Both his position and his technique take a way too big toll on his mind and body, evident by how tired and sick he always looks. Due to his cursed technique he struggles a lot with keeping food down and constantly throws up, which has him being too thin and almost scrawny, always looking too pale and sick, with sunken features and unhealthy coloration to his skin. And the whole psychological aspect of the consumption of flesh, whether human or curses', is not much better. That combined with the dirty work he needs to do for the higher ups, being basically their glorified hitman, the blood in his hands, has his mental state in shambles. He's honestly suffering from depression and needs to take pills to be able to sleep some, permanent dark circles around his eyes. Of course, he's aware he's a mess, but there's nothing to do about it. He's gotta keep going, because who else is gonna keep everyone safe? Satoru already proved he's not gonna be the one. Yuta intends to keep pushing himself further and further until everything is said and done, and only then allow himself to process everything and break down.

PSA/HC faceclaims and appearance stuff.

So I know there's some confusion regarding my use of icons and faceclaims so I thought I'd make this small post to clear that up. I only have a handful of icons for Satoru that I got from a free source and most of them have him wearing his blindfold, so emotions just do not convey the same, so I've got other multiple faceclaims for when I need to convey expressions better. Plus it also works with the detail of them being trans enby and having some different physical features in comparison to canon.

So I've got like, 5 of these. Just young Toru, student years, still learning about gender expression and stuff.

Then I use these for slightly older Toru, around 3rd year 18-19 yo. The hair length and the slightly more feminine appearance are the canon to the portrayal. They mostly dress up like a tomboy girl, shirts, short pants, high socks, etc.

These are for young adult Toru. Early twenties to 27yo. Very female presenting, female clothes, make up, long pretty hair, breasts and hips bc hormones treatment. Dresses up very nicely and attractively bc they're a haute couture model for some important brands, so, dresses, tights, high heel boots, long coats, etc.

Then canon icons for 27-28 yo Toru, after Suguru's death. Back to short/male hair, more male presenting, wears exclusively black and mostly gender neutral or male clothes but still does their make up a bit, and ofc the female body characteristics are still there. To this point they don't do brand magazine modeling anymore but mostly important catwalks and make up advertising. This is also a consequence of their mental struggle with their blindness and it getting worse to the point they struggle with basic tasks.

28/post canon and aus. Just Toru with slightly longer hair once they decide to let it grow longer again once coming to terms with Suguru's death, as they initially cut it as a sign of mourning. They go back to wearing colors and female clothing but mostly dress up soberly, like a rich aunt. Megumi helps them out with their make up and clothes as they're legally blind by then. These are also the icons I use for Suguru-is-not-dead aus since that would probably be the appearance they would have.

So those are the main points but also sometimes I'll change faceclaims mid thread bc I don't have the right expression/emotion so, sorry about that ✌️ hope this clears things up

Thinking thinking thinking. About the fact that at his core Megumi is just a good kid that has suffered way too much. He's not a saint whatsoever, he doesn't care for strangers like he does for his family and friends, but at the end he's always doing his best to help because he's too kind and has a good heart. And yet all of his life is suffering, has been from the moment he was born. He tries and tries but it doesn't matter because it all always ends up the same way with the people he loves being hurt for loving him back. All he ever wanted was to be a normal kid, have friends, fall in love, grow up into an adult his dad can be proud of and help animals and have a family and just be happy. But he can't have any of that no matter how much he tries or how much he's helped, he's cursed to suffer till the day he dies and drag everyone down with him. His sister, his dad, his shikigami. He just keeps losing and losing until there's nothing left. So please do not blame him if he's unable to fight back, because he's got nothing left to do it for.

Don't hate me for this but-- Yuta actually likes Naoya quite a bit. They've worked together quite a few times by now, and it's always efficient and straight to the point. Each one does their part without questions, they communicate what they need to do with barely a glance and then just meet afterwards. For someone like Yuta who's used to work solo, that's exactly what he needs from a work partner. And also-- they're both hardcore gamers. They've spent time outside of work both talking an playing videogames, just drinking and messing around. They're-------- friendos. Yeahh 🤷

Thematic headcanons.

Not exactly a sport, but Yuta's martial art of choice is Neo Engolo, an African martial art taught to him by Miguel and practiced with other boys from his clan. It is a precursor to Capoeira and as such it is heavily focused on leg movement and lower body strength, and follows the rhythm they mark with every footstep. Yuta resorts to it when not using his katana, and wakes up early every morning to practice the movements.

Haise is extremely adept to tennis, a big hobby of his. He will drag Arima and Akira to play with him from time to time, if only once a month or so, and take immense joy even when he loses. It is also definitely a must do when it comes to dates. If his partner won't play tennis with him then there's not much hope for a lasting relationship.

Many random Yuta headcanons.

Although Yuta greatly respects Satoru as a sorcerer and does have a certain fondness for him as a relative and the one who initially helped him, he does find him somewhat lacking when it comes to teaching. He considers Miguel and Kusakabe as his mentors instead, calls them Sensei, and greatly looks up to them and respects them.

He calls Satoru simply by his name, without honorifics nor other suffix, although he wouldn't be able to put into words the why. Probably something to do with a desire for closeness with the one family member he seems to have left.

Most of Yuta's old anxiety and shyness was beaten out of him thanks to Miguel training and mentoring, but it still can sometimes come out in very specific situations. He was also the one who enforced on him his now usual poker face as to help him never give away his thoughts or next move.

Yuta is a quick learner when it comes to other languages. He's fluent in English, and moderately fluent in Swahili and Yoruba, taught to him by different members of Miguel's clan and the man himself.

Yuta normally runs very cold, and the dark circles under his eyes are always prominent, as well as the dark veins under his skin. That together with extremely pale skin usually give him a somewhat unsettling appearance, even if he's pretty attractive.

Due to Rika's influence and Yuta's immense amount of cursed energy, his very presence feels extremely unsettling and creepy to non sorcerers, specially children and also animals. Most children will cry when he's near, and animals will run away, while most adults feel enormously uncomfortable around him. This also happens with sorcerers, although more limited. Most of them just find him extremely creepy and unsettling but their control of cursed energy allows the to ignore it.

When fighting without his katana, Yuta resorts to Neo Engolo, an African martial art precursor to the Brazilian Capoeira, which mixes both styles as well as some stances from Asiatic martial arts. He learnt it during his time with Miguel as well, from various young sorcerers from the clan.

Yuta cut all connection with his family when he was 10 years old. His mother was a heavy smoker and an alcoholic, abusive both mental and physically, his father was not in the picture, and his sister was a small clon of their mother. None of them are sorcerers, and after a particularity bad argument where Rika finally attacked and injured his sister, he decided to take his things and run away. As far as he knows, his family never looked for him.

He spent the next year living in the streets with Rika's aid, stealing to survive, and would be eventually found by child services when he was 11. He would be brought to a children center and remain there until he was 15 years old and Rika's attacks got worse, causing Satoru to finally find him. As a 17 years old right now, almost 18, he still doesn't know anything about he whereabouts of his family, and is not particularly interested on finding out.

Yuta has been approached by different clans with the intention of forming rapports, and sometimes, even arrange possible marriages. Needless to say he's rejected them all.

Yuta did briefly date Miguel's younger sister during his time in Kenya, although it was more of a sensual relationship rather than romantic. They ended things in good terms once Yuta realized he wasn't truly attracted to her. After her, he dated a male friend. Things ended with lots of yelling.

During his time abroad he also picked on the unhealthy habit of smoking, this one by Miguel's mother's influence. He brought a stash of artisanal cigars with him and does his best to make them last.

Due to Rika's death and his own mother, Yuta has a heavy dislike for alcohol. He's unlikely to ever get drunk, and will only drink it in very specific situations.

Also due to his upbringing, he's pretty closed off around adults and mistrustful of them. The only adults he feels comfortable with and can be open around are Kusakabe and Miguel, as he doesn't even feel fully at ease around Satoru.

Yuta is extremely protective of women. He will always aid women with their bags and offer any kind of aid, and will be the first one to interject if he thinks someone is bothering a girl.

Legally, Satoru is his guardian, which technically puts him on line for the lead of the Gojo clan.

Thanks to Gojo's influence he met and befriended Megumi little before leaving. He thinks he's very pretty, but tries not to think much of it. He also probably kept in contact with him during his absence.

He has both of his earlobes pierced, as well as his left helix. He also has a navel and genital piercing.

Thematic headcanons.

Despite being barely 18 years old when adopting Megumi and Tsumiki, basically a kid themself, Satoru was (and is) and incredibly capable and loving parent. They actively made the choice to dedicate their late teens and early twenties to raise the kids, making them their first priority even above sorcerer work. The amount of missions they went on was cut down drastically to only the special grade rated ones so that they would never stay away from the kids too long, and those few times they left them under Yaga, Nanami, or Shoko's care. Only once the kids were reaching their teens did Satoru go back to taking on more missions, out of a need to make income as the relationship with their clan was not great.

Besides of sorcerer work, they also took on a second job as a model for female and neutral wear, which they still do up to this day, and once the kids became teens Satoru went to college and got a PhD on psychics on two years. Only then, with Megumi 11 and Tsumiki 13 years old, they became a teacher at Jujutsu High, as it would be even more time consuming than everything they had done until then. Still, all of that was always scheduled in a way that it happened while the kids were at school. Once taking the decision to adopt them, Satoru also set on learning to do all kind of house chores, read parenting books, and just actively did everything in their power to give the kids as much of a normal and loving childhood as possible.

Tiny Yuta hc. As everyone knows his anxiety was really bad as a 15 yo old. Most of the time he needed to fiddle with something in his hands to remain calm. Someone (either Gojo or Kusakabe) got him a mesh ball and that's what he used most of the time, but upon coming back as a 17yo he's moved on from that. Anxiety is controlled through meditation, and in bad cases, slight self harm. He's developed the habit of biting his hands or arms when under too much psychological stress, never hard enough as to draw blood, but only to leave marks.

Some various Megumi headcanons.

Since he was little, Megumi loves coloring. As a kid he did all kind of children's books, but always finished them too soon, so eventually Satoru got him mandala books and they were the ones that stuck. Megumi would sit down to color for hours straight, and up to this day he still does at least a few pages a week. Back home he's got a shelve with at least a hundred of fully finished books.

Megumi loves animals, especially dogs. His divine dogs were the first shikigami he ever summoned before he even was introduced to jujutsu by Satoru. He's always treated them as his pets and rarely sends them back to his shadow. Wherever he is, the dogs, Kuku and Shishi, are always near by. They sleep in bed with him too. All his other shikigami have names he's given them too.

Due to his love for animals, Megumi always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian someday. However, he abandoned that dream in order to become a sorcerer instead. Given the deal Satoru made with the Zen'in, he knows it would cause unnecessary problems to him if Megumi refused to assist the school. Therefore he will be a sorcerer even if he hates it, as he would never want to become a burden to him.

However, he still intends to go to college once he graduates. Right now Megumi hopes to become a doctor, specifically a neurologist, in order to mix medicine and sorcery to try and find a way to cure Tsumiki. In his dorm room his shelves can be seen filled with books and magazines on medicine, and he often can be seen reading and studying on his free time.

He is gay, and he's fully aware, if a bit defensive about it. Yuta was his awakening, if it took him a while to come to terms with it.

Megumi is a feminine boy. He enjoys wearing make up and jewelry, does skincare routines, and as an all cares a lot about his appearance. He also dresses on commonly female clothes and colors. He and Mai have been close friends since little and bond over these kinds of things.

Megumi headcanons

Megumi doesn't remember his mother, and his few memories of his biological father are blurry and unpleasant. He doesn't even remember his face or his name, and given he and his sister where abandoned by him, he sees the man as little more than his sperm donor and has no interest whatsoever on his whereabouts. He assumes Toji ended up drinking himself dead in a stinky ditch somewhere, and although he's aware Satoru knows what happened to him, he's simply not interested on finding out.

Given Satoru was the one to adopt and raise him since he was 5 years old, Megumi considers him to be his actual father. That also influences on why he doesn't care about Toji, since he already has a caring parent, he's not interested on a deadbeat dad whom sold him away like a thing.

He's not aware Fushiguro was originally his mother's last name, but even if he did it truly wouldn't change anything. He asked Satoru to change his last name to Gojo when he was a young teen, as he didn't want to have any relation to Toji whatsoever.

He's legally Satoru's adoptive son and charge. He calls him dad at home, but Sensei at the school. He' also was brought to visit the school often since he was a child, thus by when he finally joined everyone already knew him.

Megumi was an extremely spoiled child. Satoru's parenting was basically giving him whatever he wanted whenever he wanted it, and never scolding him. He was an absolute brat whom would start breaking things whenever Satoru was paying attention to someone else, and would often ruin his dates or make up stories about Maki or Mai being mean to him just to be a pest. If he was ever called out by someone else, he would break to cry in order to get Satoru to pamper him. He got better as he grew up, but he still has a tendency to ruin Satoru's relationships just for funsies.

Due to Satoru's meddling he's known Yuta from before he started Jujutsu High, as he had Yuta help him train his technique, and asked them to become friends. Due to this Megumi sees Yuta as a reliable figure and close friend, and maybe something else.

He's also visited the Zen'in place a few times as well, again due to Satoru. He does little more than play with Maki and Mai every time while Satoru treats with the adults. He really doesn't like Naoya.

Headcanons. Yuta's outcome.

I've mentioned before that in the events currently happening in the manga Yuta is pretty much at his limit, both psychologically and physically. The main things that cause this are the secondary effects of his cursed technique and the current state of his friends.

To put it in simple terms, Yuta's body is unable to keep up with his technique. The human body is not designed to be able to digest raw human or curses' flesh, which has him facing the same health problems Geto did, but even worse. He already suffered of a eating disorder due to his abusive upbringing, but it now has developed to the point that pills and cigarettes to control his appetite are the norm. In bad days, ingesting normal meals cause him to throw up bile and blood. He's incredibly sick looking, scrawny and shrivelled, his skin sickly colored, his features sunk and his eyes always dark circles. He always smells of blood.

But the physical effects of his technique are only a part of everything. The psychological aspect of consuming human flesh only exacerbates all his symptoms, as well as a chronic depression that has worsened in a way too small frame of time. He's enormously traumatized and utterly disgusted on himself, but refuses to acknowledge it in any way as to not let it burden him. All of his self loathing in shoved in the back of his mind in order to act with surgical precision when he needs to. During his time at Kenya, he was able to find some semblance of comfort and spiritual balance in the midst of Miguel's community, but with having to leave so suddenly once Shibuya happens it's only left him in a bad spot, made worse by what he finds out once he's back.

His main objective was always to become strong enough as to protect his friends, reason he went away to train and left everything on Satoru's hands. However, we know how that goes. Kokichi and Mai are dead, Toge and Maki are hurt beyond help, Satoru is sealed, Megumi is suffering a fate worse than death. Coming to the conclusion Satoru was mistaken on letting Yuji live, he decides to forsake his request to protect Yuji and sets down to kill him instead, making a binding vow with the higher ups to prove his resolve.

Unfortunately, he finds Megumi before Yuji, and his soft spot for him becomes a burden. Yuta offers Megumi a deal, a binding vow. He will give Yuji one chance, and in exchange Megumi will give him a kilogram of his flesh. Eventually, he goes on to find Yuji, and by killing him only to then heal him a second afterwards, he effectively fulfills the vow with both Megumi and the higher ups.

However, even if it seemed like a good middle ground in that moment, this would turn up to be the worst mistake he ever made, dooming Megumi, Satoru, and multiple others. A responsibility he intends to fully take.

Unknown to everyone, Yuta was able to track down the last finger little after parting ways with Megumi, Yuji, and Choso. Yuta ate it, and although normally Mimicry requires of around two pounds of flesh to copy a technique, whether from humans or curses, given Sukuna's fingers are concentrated parts of his power it was enough to allow him to copy both Cleave and Dismantle.

He did this fully aware of what obtaining that triumph card would mean. Even if they were to use Jacob's Ladder on Megumi, Sukuna will still live as long as a single finger remains, and with nineteen gone his consciousness will drift to the single one left, the one in Yuta. Yuta intends to end his life after defeating Sukuna, and it's not something he can postpone. Unlike Yuji, he's fully human, and would not be able to hold him back.

Although this might seem like a bad ending, for Yuta, who's been fighting every moment of his life one way or another, it would very much be a final and well deserved rest. If he can at least kill Sukuna and save Megumi, he would feel he's been able to accomplish something of worth in his life, and would be able to go North hand on hand with Rika with a smile on his face. Megumi freed, he would slit his throat, and die smiling.

Idk who needs to hear this but Megumi loves Satoru so fucking much. He's his dad his teacher his guardian his best friend the one pillar he's got left in his life. His life goal is to someday be able to repay him because he will never stop being grateful to him and feeling like he owes him for his kindness and selflessness on taking on him the burden of adopting him and Tsumiki when he was barely older than Megumi is now. And Megumi knows he didn't make it easy too, Tsumiki was a saint but he was terrible and the fact Satoru had the patience and never gave up and still accepted and loved him as his own up to this day just pulls at his heartstrings so much when he had never before known what a loving adult or parental figure was and

Headcanons. Megumi.

Megumi's first five years of life were spent under negligence and abuse. His biological mother died barely a few months after he was born, which left him with an unwilling father that didn't know how to nor wanted to care for a child. Megumi was 2 years old when Toji married again, giving him a step-mother and a step-sister. Although things went well at the beginning, his tendencies and bad habits quickly created a fracture between him and his wife, with fights starting every day, and he left by himself when Megumi was 3 years old.

Since he was so little back then, his memories only start once he was already under his step mother's care, and he has no recollection whatsoever of the man who was his progenitor. However, even at his young age he realized things hadn't been the best, evidenced by the way his stepmother constantly talked about both Megumi and his missing father.

The way she saw it, Megumi was an undesirable burden she had been left with. Just as Toji, he was just another hindrance in her life. She never showed Megumi any motherly love, and constantly blamed him over the dire financial difficulties the family suffered by extension of Toji. Money was scarce and the woman focused her efforts on the one who was her child by blood, and her hatred and resentment on the kid dumped on her. Megumi was scorned, psychologically abused, and severely neglected, left to fend by himself with some spare change from time to time, which together with undiagnosed autism left him severely lacking on social skills for his age.

During those two years after Toji left and up until meeting Satoru, Tsumiki was the main pillar in his life. She was the one to share his meals with him, comfort him, or help him sneak in the house when he was grounded outside. Unfortunately, that soured her own relationship with her mother, as the woman saw it as a betrayal and didn't take long to start neglecting her as well, to then move on to physical abuse when the girl did her best to protect her brother.

It became a normal occurrence for Megumi to do his best to stay outside the house after school for as long as he could, arriving back late only to then be locked outside for the night, key nowhere Tsumiki could find it. The times he was allowed inside were quick to go sour, with him being punished by being locked inside a closet alone in the dark for hours, something that caused him to develop a deep fear of dark and closed spaces.

It was one of those times, alone in the dark after hours of crying and apologizing, that he summoned his divine dogs for first time. He had no knowledge of jujutsu nor someone to explain it to him, and with being the only one able to see them, he assumed they were imaginary friends, cementing in his head the idea his stepmother was right and there was something wrong with him, just as there was with his father.

He named the black dog, a girl, Kuku. And the white one, a boy, Shishi. After Tsumiki, they became a source of happiness and comfort in his life, his best friends and company. The nights spent locked out of the house became more bearable cuddling up with them for warmth, and the ones locked in the closet more manageable with the puppies to pet.

Megumi was barely 5 years old when (in his eyes) his stepmother had enough of him and left, doing her bags one day and disappearing to never be seen again. Upon realizing they were definitely alone, the children did their best to survive by themselves, with Tsumiki taking the role of the adult and doing her best to learn to manage the house for her and her little brother. This all made Megumi incredibly guilty before his impossibility to help her and the certainty that it was his fault her mother abandoned her.

Without someone to pay the basic bills like are water and electricity, they had been surviving with cold leftovers and expired food for almost a month when Satoru found them, dirty and malnourished. Initially Megumi was extremely wary of him, but he was quick to give in before the first adult to ever show a hint of worry for him. Even more than Tsumiki, he clung to him emotionally to the point of it being unhealthy, in constant need of Satoru in his line of sight for fear of him leaving too, demanding his attention, or simply a gut wretching need for the psychical affection he had been denied. Eventually, he would mostly grow out of it with the pass of the years, but as he is now, a teenager, sometimes he still exhibits remnants from those years in the ways he asks for attention or affection.
