Your finding that fic was super special to me because you were the first to dig into seeing and the sound who wasn’t like, part of the original concepting for 70s au. "Is it truly so dire?" Ferdinand didn't know why he asked. Of course it was. He had been out in those missions to the over-run villages and the carnage that ensued... (And the black stain that spread across his skin like spilt ink in the days that followed. How many more among them found themselves marked?) Or truly, what he expected to hear from Seteth at all.

"So dire that even Flayn would be sent to the far reaches of Leicester..." The Leicester border. He would be there too. "Do you worry for her?"

Seteth had been conducting some last preparations for his stay in the monastery when the young noble approached him. Still busy, he continued to organize supplies and documents- but spared Ferdinand a glance of acknowledgement. "It is a dire situation, yes. And even if our actions are so far a bit of an exaggeration...it is best than to face it underprepared. But fear not. None of you are being deployed with your lives on the line." Or so he deeply hoped. Seteth did everything he could to ensure each and every member of the expeditions are safe and well equipped, but fate oftentimes had other ideas.

At the mention of Flayn, Seteth's ministrations stopped. "Deeply so." His voice was quiet- almost a murmur, followed by a long pause as he slowly returned to his work.

"Ferdinand." He cut through silence, although not sharp- rather, gentle. "I have an important favour to ask of you."

It was a dangerous game to play, but there was nothing more for him to do. "You are in the same group as Flayn, as my documents say."

We share the same blood. "I ask of you to please look after her. Just make sure she is safe and healthy." The man finally turned to face Ferdinand. "I suppose you are capable of such task. I am asking you specifically because after much thought I have deemed you trustworthy enough. She is a classmate of yours, after all."

I am putting an immense amount of trust in you. Do not disappoint me.

{~🌹  Dimitry can’t help the subtle wince as he tries to finish getting the blood off him, he needs to wrap them as soon as possible. Not actually any deep flesh wounds, but one of them held a knife and got some slashes in, but he was quicker on his feet than people originally think.

  Still a few blows to his head, back and chest took a lot out of him, and the lack of air as he ran caused bruises as well as scrapes on his knees. 

  Aching all over, still, he  makes sure the wounds are at least clean before starting to drain the water, grunting softly he moves to stand when a hand moves out to grasp his arm to help him out.

  Rusty eyes shift quickly toward the other, and he looks at the other in almost shame at being found in such a state. 

      “Ferdinand. I-I’m sorry.     I’m done, I can take care    of this on my own.”

  Giving the other a subtle smile, the split lip on his lips making it look swollen and red.  🌹~}
