i dont personally think the age gap was significant enough to be as big of an issue as she thinks it was (she dated 32yr old John Mayer at 19 but it’s Jake that’s the center of the age gap discussion? weird) and she said one of the songs about him was about “a guy who was never there”, so it sounds like he probably didn’t put much effort into the relationship and clearly lead her on bc it sounds like she didn’t mean a lot to him at the time (from things he’s said in interviews), so mostly just that. I think he’s the least bad of the bad exes, though.
