you loved him.
the boy seating right in front your canvas was your muse. the reason to your sudden will to draw, something you had stopped doing years ago.
it was just a hobby, after all.
however, now it was much more, you loved him. you loved drawing him, getting every detail right, from his loose curls to his lashes and the shading of the ambient, you made sure to pass it down on every painting how much you loved him.
you always seemed happier when drawing him. it didn't matter if your back ached and killed you because of the awful position you choose to draw him, you loved him. you memorized every frame, every scar, every birthmark.
you met him at the art academy, he was doing a favor to the teacher and had to pose naked for the class, of course, jot entirely naked, more like covered in a white silk fabric like he was a greek god.
and fuck, he looked so pretty, you were the last one to finish it, everybody on the class was gone and you were still drawing him, glancing over your canvas as you drew him, as you put in detail everything that your eyes could get.
your wrist, your back and your shoulders could feel painfully terrible on you, it didn't matter, you were almost done with your painting, what was supposed to be a sketch was, now, a complete painting of him despicted as a greek god.
"fuck, you did all of this in the last two hours?" a voice behind you asked, making you jump and scream in surprise, the pencil on your hand meeting the bastard's face with green paint and
fuck. it was him.
"oh my god i'm so sorry! i'm sorry, i didn't- i thought you were still sitting there-" you said, trying to desperately brush off the paint on his cheek. he laughed at your despair.
"it's fine. i'm the one to put at fault for scaring you like that. at least the paint didn't get on your painting" he said, looking over your shoulder, closely to the painting. it was beautiful. he was beautiful. he could tell it was him by the dozens of birthmarks you captured on his body, his face looking down at a lake while he sat on a greek ionic column. "you're so good at painting. i'm glad i was a muse to you."
his words seemed to woke you up, you looked at him with a desperate twinkle on your eyes, holding the brush tightly.
"can you... can you keep being my muse?" you asked, to his surprise. and to your surprise, he accepted gladly.
so now, seven months ahead from that moment, your boyfriend was sitting across your seat, posing naked to you.
"darling," you called, looking at him with a smile on your lips. there was paint on your cheek, a bit on your nose and a lot on your arms. "i've finished it."
your announcement seemed to make him wake up, looking at you with those bright blue eyes as he walked to you, wrapping the towel around his waist.
however, he didnt even look at you, too preoccupied with kissing you than to look at the painting.
"wait- don't you wanna see it?" you asked while he took you on his lap, hands on your thighs as he kisssed your neck.
"i don't need to see it, i know what you're capable of, darling. i'm sure it's as beautiful as all the others you did, but it's never gonna be prettier than you." he said, sweetly, and you melted away on his kisses and honeyed up words, giving in to his kisses as he took you to your room, his hands brushing on your cheek and smearing off the paint.
ah. you loved him too much.

[ work hours ] 
“stop sulking. time is ticking.” kafka’s voice echoes throughout the empty corridor once she felt your presence. her heels clack along the metal floor of the ship, only to stop when a projection appeared in front of her. you groaned at her words. “easy for you to say. i got held up by two trailblazers after leaving wolfie to go here. seriously, what am i? a stellaron hunter or an overpaid teensitter?” kafka lets out an amused sigh at your antics. 
“23:47:15 system time. very punctual, kafka.” a glitchy, robotic voice spoke, in which you rolled your eyes out. “can’t say the same for you, y/n.”
“i don’t answer to a child.” 
“you–”
“enough.” kafka’s voice was stern with a hint of mirth. “y/n, why don’t you.. entertain our guests from the astral express for a little while silverwolf and i look for the stellaron.” 
“i’m only gonna agree because the guy in green is cute.” you turned away with a wave. grinning ear to ear, already anticipating the little dance with the infamous cloud-piercer.

[ babysitting hours ] 
“kill me now.”
“i can’t do that. if i kill you, that means i’ll be left alone with them.” blade shrugs off your complaint, focusing completely on his phone as he answers a message from kafka. you look at him with judgment in your eyes. internally berating him for looking like a very suspicious criminal wearing a black beanie with black tinted glasses that he probably stole from one of the blind mice. 
it's one of the days where you guys don't have any work to do. you planned to just stay in bed and sleep the whole day but a certain gamer brat decided to drag you out of the comforts of your bed and instead make you stand watch over her while she plays a rigged game in an old arcade. seems like your plans are ruined now. clearly.
"but we've been here for nine hours! who even spends nine hours on a claw machine?!" you bang your head in the arcade machine beside him.
"kafka's right. you do sulk a lot." blade hums. 
"shut up, old man."

[ the doc is in ]
"greetings, patients. your beloved doctor has arrived." the trio collectively sigh as you enter the infirmary. 
they just got back from a mission. from what you heard, the mission was a success. however, with what you're seeing now, you'd conclude that the mission was a.. partial success. silverwolf has gashes all over her legs and arms. kafka is laying down, completely fatigued. and blade is bleeding, cuts all over his arms, probably from his own sword. 
"are you guys.. feeling better?" you mused with a light grin. you stifled a laugh when you heard blade groan from the left side of the room. you walked towards silverwolf first and started to patch her up. 
soft sighs and the whirs of the air conditioner were the only thing audible in the room. it was clear that all of them were tired. so as the greatest doctor ever, it is your duty to make sure they'll be able to rest easily and without any pain.

if you think spending nine hours in an arcade with silverwolf is bad, clearly past you hasn't been informed of almost a twelve hour shopping spree with kafka. in general, it doesn't sound bad. i mean, a shopping spree with a very fashionable stellaron hunter? sounds like a dream. yeah, that was what you thought too. until twelve hours has passed and you're still in the coats section. 
"you have bad eyes, we should get that checked." kafka tuts, frowning at you with the coat still on her hold. you gape at her accusation. "it's the same black one. all coats you try on are black. how am i supposed to know the difference?"
"through the material of the coat." she walks away to the cashier, silently urging you to push the cart of coats on her wake.
"i'm not really a fabric person!"

forever grateful to you for sharing your musings, as if the book writing weren't great enough and hard work enough, you truly spoil us and i love you.
I'm popping in here to ask if you would like to talk about how you see Dumbledore. Sometimes I feel his manipulative side is abused in fanfiction, depicting little more than a heartless chess master.
And well, I guess I'm curious to find out if Lionheart Albus has a heart and will we get to see it. Maybe the more generous glimpses you give us of Snape and his interactions with him will shed some light on his hidden depths? Or will his appearances remain fleeting and enigmatic, always far and above all the little people we do know and adore?
Sorry, I know you can't possibly be completely balanced in your portraying of the whole cast, or they would spread too thin. I am here for the plot, for the Dramione and the Blacks, but I deeply enjoy all the character building (I truly live for all of them, not only our loved ones, I even cherish Warrington with sincere hate and am waiting for his comeuppance ) so I thought I would ask if you wouldn't mind a few comments on our opaque headmaster.

Dumbledore has a relatively minor role in Lionheart for a few reasons — chief among which is, as you point out, that we just don't have time for everybody to get the same level of characterization the mains do. I have plot justifications for that, but it'd be disingenuous to suggest otherwise: Dumbledore's minor because I'm less interested in him than I am in Snape and Narcissa, and Lionheart is much more about Draco's sphere of the world than Harry's. That being said, I think some people forget how small Dumbledore's role is in the original books. He pretty much exists to deliver exposition and tell Harry how to beat the final boss; dude doesn't even get a gesture at a backstory until he's already dead. In fact, it's kinda weird to me that everyone (including a lot of people in the series) treats Dumbledore like he's some kind of guardian for Harry, especially with respect to the decision to keep him at the Dursleys. I know it's set up in the prologue, but if I'm Dumbledore, and I'm catching strays for Vernon Dursley being a piece of shit, I'm gonna be like:

The TLDR on Dumbledore is he's blamed way too much for stuff he doesn't do instead of the stuff he does. People seem to blame him for everything bad that happens to Harry because he's a competent adult in the general vicinity of the kid. But with the possible exception of hiring Lockhart — a bad decision I attribute to Early Installment Weirdness and, just maybe, a certain scarcity of applicants for a position where the last dude Literally Fucking Died — there's not a whole lot of shit that happens to Harry in the first few books Dumbledore could've prevented. Plus, he does in fact have Other Shit to be Doing. Is he a really powerful wizard who probably could've saved Harry's ass in a lot of the fights he gets into? Yes. Does he also have a whole school to run, a secret guerrilla group to direct, a Ministry full of political enemies to placate, and — oh yeah — a snake-faced immortal evil sorcerer he's playing 4D chess with at all times? Yes!
The whole lamb-to-slaughter thing with Harry is admittedly quite dark, but I don't read it as machiavellian. For one, Dumbledore obviously comes to this conclusion after a lot of deliberation, and to his death, he refuses to tell Harry about it, because (one assumes) he never intends to kill Harry himself. He's willing to hinge the fate of the free world on his respect for Harry's autonomy and/or his faith that Harry will make the "right" choice. That's pretty humane, given the circumstances. And he holds off on telling Harry about the horcruxes because... he doesn't want to inform a literal child that he'll eventually have to kill himself for the war effort. Oh, GOD, what a SCHEMING MONSTER. Surely this is motivated by menace, and not the grieving reluctance of a seasoned veteran who wants to preserve whatever few years of happiness this kid can eke out of life.
The areas where Dumbledore is morally shady come out most in his interactions with other adults. His conversation with Severus in 1981, for instance, is the one time in the books where I was legitimately frightened of him, because it's a rare time he's completely without mercy or grace. "What will you give me in return, Severus?" is a character-defining line, because Snape has just told him that two twenty-somethings and their infant child are about to be murdered, and Dumbledore's hit back with the subtextual equivalent of: "Tough shit. Why is it my problem?" Which is COLD AS FUCK! And we can kind of infer that he's not in earnest here, that he's manipulating Severus by making him think Dumbledore won't protect the Potters (even though they're Order members, which this theory requires us to assume Severus doesn't know) so that he can get him to work as a spy — but we don't know that for certain, right? It's all inference. We hope that his implicit threat isn't genuine, but what would happen if Severus said no, and walked away? How much did Albus understand about Snape's feelings for Lily, and what kind of person does it take to bluff like that in front of a known Legilimens? That line is intimidating as fuck whether or not Albus means it.
It's bits like these, where he's talking to people that he actually dislikes, where we get hints of the real Machiavellian Albus Dumbledore, and it's absolutely fascinating. He's the veteran of two wars, going on three when he dies, and you can tell in how he conducts himself. That includes, by the way, his gentility with children and his respect for innocence. But he's not just Good Funny Grandfather Dude or Crafty Mastermind. He's a general. He's been waging wars from the back lines since his twenties. That does something to your brain, and it doesn't leave a lot of you left over for anything else.

Raccoon City was silent and still, safe for the soft whisper of the crisp, cool wind carrying the leaves that allow gravity to claim them in the finality of their life cycle. Coloring the roads and sidewalks in an array of different browns, reds, and oranges. Adding onto the aesthetically pleasing decorations that hung throughout the neighborhood, celebrating the festivities of the spooky season. However, the night that now blanketed the city was calm. No children running up and down the cement paths with their candy buckets, laughing and chattering with excited delight to receive their treats or to show off whatever muse they chose to dress up as. All was quiet.
For the worst reasons.
Like the ripple in a pond when a stone is tossed, the still tranquility is suddenly disturbed by the echoing clap of shoes against pavement. Harshly kicking the leaves up in a frenzy as they rush by, searching for anything that will bring them safety. The owner of the frantic footsteps is breathing heavily with clear exhaustion, while struggling in vain to lock down another sob, yet she knows she can't stop. Even if her lungs burn and bile rises in the back of her throat, even if her legs ache with mountains of fatigue, even if it feels like her heart is about to explode if a break is not given. She can't stop. You cannot stop.
That's exactly what he's counting on.
You don't dare to take a chance and look back, you know the consequences of that action would be very grim. Not like you need to anyway, you know he's still there, just waiting for you to slip up. You swear you still see him out of the corners of your eyes as you scan your surroundings in a feeble attempt to make sure he won't catch you off guard, as that will be your death sentence. His obscured face floats within the darkness like a phantom. An evil spirit. The Devil.
Leon.
It's like he's taunting you, yet he doesn't need to utter a single word. But perhaps the feeling is mutual. History repeats itself- he was so close but you still managed to slip away again after all these years. Which feels like an insult to him, personally. A disgrace on him for you to try and beat him at his own game again. It pisses him off to no end but excites him all at once, for Leon loves a challenge.
You're the only victim who's not just gotten away, back then and now, but has also put up this much of a fight tonight. That's what calls to him, what draws him to you like a great white shark when blood is spilled in open waters. What drives him to continue playing this gruesome game he'll never grow tired of.
You're not getting away this time, he's waited for this moment for too long. Dreamed of it on too many occasions when he was locked away from the world within the confines of that godforsaken hospital. Simply biding his time, letting them get away with adorning his being with their petty shackles they fully believe will save them from his gruesome wrath in the end. Allowing them to poke and prod at him. See what aligns with their research they're so confident in that they'll scream whatever nonsense they want about the 'ailments' he holds. Because of fear.
Because they don't know what he is.
If Leon ever decided to speak, highly unlikely of course, he could almost admit that there's some form of irony in there somewhere. They label him as so many different types of crazy, complete mental disturbance. And yet would still waste their own time and money trying to figure him out. Not even fully understanding what they would gain either, besides some brief recognition perhaps. The stupidity is mind boggling, but he never cared, it was always so funny to watch them try anyway.
Chained down to his chair in his padded cell, hearing but not listening to the white noise of specialists, drawing on and on. Studying him as if he was nothing more than a tiger trapped in a zoo. When behind his blank expression, hidden deep within those cold blue eyes. He was laughing at every single one of them.
Because he knew he'd be free again. Free to finally pick up where he left off. Answer the curious questions he's often wondered. Like, what would your flesh look like up close once he's carved into it? He knows it's soft, easy to give. Easy to scar. Oh how he longs to scar you deeply. Make you his. Obsessed with the idea of knowing what your blood feels like when it finally gets to stain his hands, what it looks like when mixed with your tears. He would bet it's beautiful, something close to poetic even. You were always beautiful, maybe that's where his attachment lies.
You're this perfectly blank canvas for him, the horridly sadistic artist. He wants to break you. Like a pretty porcelain doll just for him. All for him. That thought alone almost pulls the ghost of a smirk onto his hidden lips as he keeps his steady pace not far behind you. Waiting. Until you finally give up, or your body makes you stop. He's not picky.
You finally collapse, letting out a shrill cry from where you lay, pitifully shaking like a little bunny, desperate to get away from the starving wolf. You're praying your adrenaline will give you another boost, one last great effort. Your breath comes out shaky and full of fear. Hearing the sound of Leon's boots slowly step off the sidewalk and onto the asphalt. Oh God, he's right there. You have to move now.
MOVE!
Forcing your lungs to take in a large gulp of air, you immediately spring back up and dart for the nearest house. You're certain you hear a small huff escape him, coming out muffled by his mask. Whether out of amusement or annoyance, you don't care. You just want to get away as you leap onto the porch, quickly throw the front door open, then lock yourself inside. Hoping he'll leave you alone now. Though that's only wishful thinking, you know he doesn't work like that.
You sink to the floor where you quietly sob, begging for the world to swallow you up so he can't get you. He got Helena, Ada, Jake and Piers didn't seem like they were going to make it either. You don't have a damn clue where Chris, Claire or Sherry could be. Is anyone looking for you? And if they are, will they just eventually find your corpse?
You don't want to think about it. Instead you force yourself back to your feet to lock down the rest of the house with one priority- keep Leon Kennedy out. Hoping to hold your ground until help comes. If it ever does. You bolt to the living room first, checking all the windows to make sure they're secure, then run to the kitchen next to look for any possible entries you could cut him off from. Along with the back door, that definitely gets blocked.
Once those are checked and dubbed safe, you move back to the front of the house with the intention of heading upstairs to barricade everything up there. Only to freeze dead in your tracks. Unable to make a sound as your heart leaps into your throat just as your stomach drops like a weighted block of ice. The front door you just locked…
Is standing wide open.
The lock clearly busted as if it was nothing more than tinfoil to him. Yet you never heard a sound. A weak cry falls from your lips as you plant your shaking body to a wall while your eyes frantically search around you. He's not in the living room, or the kitchen from what you could see. He's probably watching you right now, when you can't see him at all. That thought alone throws your mind into overdrive.
The door is still open, maybe he couldn't find anything useful to block it before you came back around. You pray for that to be the case, because you know Leon is crafty. Always thinking three steps ahead. But you're so tired, you want to go home, let this nightmare be over with. And with freedom practically staring you in the face, you can't help but take it. So you quickly push yourself away from the wall and race out the front door. To help, safety, some actual hope that the end of this horrific tunnel is finally within sight.
The universe works in such unimaginable ways though, and perhaps someone up there is just really testing you, or doesn't like you at all.
When that hope is stolen from you in the form of Leon's hand suddenly clamping down onto your arm before you're even fully out the door then swiftly tosses you back into the house.
"NO!" A scream rips from your throat as your back meets the hardwood floor. One of anguish and betrayal, then terror when Leon steps inside after you. The holes of his mask bore into you, like staring into the depths of an abyss. Staring straight into Hell. His hand reaches up to shut the door first, then wedges a small decorative table underneath the mangled knob and lock. Forcing your mind into the horrific realization that you did not make a fortress to keep him out.
It's your own prison with him.
Your sobs are pained and terrified as you force your aching body back up to run upstairs, unfortunately you're not quick enough. The burn of sharp steel piercing your outer thigh and slicing along your leg, almost to your knee, has you yelping as you drop again before you could get up the first mahogany step. Your death is looming over you, yet you still don't want to give in.
Picking yourself up enough to run the first few then quickly crawl up the rest to reach the second story. There you try to get back up to your feet, however the large red stain that sticks to your leg and the pain that shoots through it, reminds you of just how difficult that's going to be. Forcing you to resort to hobbling towards a hiding spot instead. Once in the 'safety' of a bedroom closet, you hastily rip off your shirt to wrap it around your thigh to put pressure on the wound. Stop the bleeding or slow it down significantly at most.
After it's tightly wrapped, but still with room for circulation, you focus on trying to calm your breathing and heart rate. Easier said than done, especially when Leon's boots echo throughout the house as he makes his way up the stairs.
Step.
Step.
Step.
He's close by. And after watching your blood drip from his knife, admiring how beautifully crimson it looked in the light, Leon's patience is wearing thin. His prize is so close. Just within his grasp, he wants it now. And he's hellbent to get it. One way or another.
You jolt at the sound of hinges busting off their frame as Leon forces his way into a room down the hall to search it. A quaint little guest bedroom. There's some promise here, maybe you're under the bed, or behind the window's curtains, perhaps the closet even. The man moves fast in swift, long strides to cross the room and pull the curtains away first. Nothing. Given his mask covering his features, as well as his strong rigid stature overall, one would think he's unbothered. However by the way his large hand bears a death grip on the hilt of his blade would suggest quite the opposite.
Leon then turns around to raise his foot and kicks the bed away. You're not there either. So he storms over to the closet and nearly rips the doors off the frame before shoving clothes away. Corner to corner, full of shirts and coats but still no you. A sharp exhale leaves the man as he stomps out to raid the next room then. The bathroom is a rather decent size but still not big enough for you to properly hide in. Not even in the bathtub, he would spot you immediately. He's quick to leave and search the final room.
Which instantly sends your hands flying to your mouth to stifle your uprising panic when the master bedroom door creaks open, oddly calm compared to the first couple of times. Then those God awful slow, calculated steps.
He's in here with you.
Whatever possesses him, whatever he is. Is powerful and sinister enough to send the iciest chills down your spine while you fight to keep your breathing steady and silent. Yet you're still plagued with one scary thought- wondering if he could hear your heartbeat. How it pounds in your ears like thunder, it wouldn't surprise you if he does catch on to the sound. But you don't dare move, only clamping your eyes shut and curling into yourself more as metal scrapes against wood when the bed is shoved away for the monster to peer underneath. Then the curtains, before snapping his head over to look into the little bathroom area on his right. Negative on both. That is…
Until Leon slowly turns his head to stare over his shoulder. At the last spot he hasn't checked yet. Ah, a rookie mistake on his part for not looking there first. Yet also such a classic choice in this twisted game of hide and seek. It was fun listening to you scream again, watching you run once more, fighting for your life that was already within the palm of his hands from the beginning. It's over now. He finally gets his reward.
Not without giving you one last shot though.
That one silent, evil thought resting in his dark consciousness leaves you clueless and beyond afraid when his body casts his ominous shadow over the closet doors as he stalks by. Then silence.
Surely that can't be it. Surely he knows you're in here, is he toying with you? Did he finally get bored? You can't tell anymore. It feels as if you're simply delaying the inevitable at this point. Maybe your life was just meant to end this way. Maybe you just need to make peace with that. Hope it's swift. Even though you don't want that as your fate, then again who really does when met with a situation like this? You're outmatched, with no options. Other than to just brace for it.
Another sob wracks your frame, the dam already broken to let the tears fall. Flowing down your cheeks as you slowly stand up on shaky legs like a newborn fawn and push the closet door open. Of course he's not there, and the door is open. Giving you a clear view back into the brightly lit hallway. You know better.
So, as you mentally write out your final goodbyes to your loved ones, you move towards the door to grab the knob and slam it shut. Revealing the man right behind it. Who doesn't waste a second as he lunges forward to pin you to the wall by your neck. A small grunt escapes before your eyes open to meet a strong chest cladded in dark navy blue. Your gaze then slowly travels upward past broad shoulders until you find yourself peering at that same haunting white facade that stares right back at you.
Honestly, in Leon's mind he feels rather disappointed. He was expecting you to try and make another escape, continue the chase. However, from the looks of it, it seems you're done. Tragic. You're exhausted, body still trembling, quietly sniffling amongst the little silver streams that blanket your face. It's so pathetic. On the other hand, he's pleasantly surprised by your little streak of courage when you stepped to him like that, even though he knew you couldn't do anything to him. Not to mention, the view he's been granted.
Seeing your shirt wrapped around your leg, leaving you in your lace bra that conforms and moves with each quiet, shuddering breath you take- that he allows you to have, for now. It stirs something he can't place at the moment. But it's something that burns hotter when he feels your heart practically beating in his hand as his thumb presses harder into your pretty skin, right onto your pulse point. Amused with how it flutters like a trapped bird.
Even more amusing to see your dainty hands quickly reach up in an attempt to pry him away. At first, Leon's almost tempted to just snap your neck right here, right now. It would be so easy. But that wouldn't be fun for him, not whenever he's finally got you after all this time. He wants to savor this moment. You still haven't changed a bit it seems, matured physically perhaps, but still so weak, soft, and delicate. Like a flower.
Whose petals he's going to rip off until there's nothing left. You're staring rather defiantly at his towering form however. Interesting. There's still a fire in you, even if it's merely a spark. Letting your hands move down to unclasp and peel your bra away then unbutton your jeans. Once they're out of the way, you glance back up at the blonde man. And would've laughed some at how his eyes shift between your breasts, his expression is unreadable however, either he's looking for the most vital spot to stab you in or he's actually admiring. It's difficult to tell but you would hope for the latter.

GUYS, I CAN NEVER TELL WHAT MORAL ALIGNMENT THIS LIL' SHIT (Eluvias, my lovely little problem child) IS. I'm putting the rest under a read more because I know it's gonna end up super ramble-y.
So first, the way I look at the alignments is loosely this: - Good = Would save someone in trouble without promise of reward. - Neutral = Would leave someone in trouble to their fate. Might intervene for reward. - Evil = Would harm/kill/otherwise detriment person in trouble. and then: - Lawful = For principle - Neutral = For necessity - Chaotic = For impulse
And I can never tell if he fits best as true neutral, chaotic neutral, or neutral evil. Which...look, I know that technically no character should fit perfectly into an alignment. Different situations, and pressures, and whatever else could always make a character act outside of that alignment after all-- if they didn't, it would make the character kinda flat and predictable. (Plus, examining what would make them act out of that "norm", how they would do it, and how they would react to it afterwards is one of the most interesting parts of writing a muse imo)
But with Luvi, it always just feels like he decides how he's going to react to everything on a whim. Which...immediately points me toward chaotic. But good and evil don't really fell like they completely fit him, so I always sway towards chaotic neutral.
Except that he has done and will do some really fucked up shit. Sometimes just because he felt like it. Other times because he felt it was what he had to do, or even because it was what he should do in that situation.
And sometimes it's a little frustrating when I write him, because I feel like he can come off so all over the place at times that I worry that he doesn't come across as a consistent muse...like he does whatever, because...well, whatever. Which wasn't the case when he was still in Elyki.
Noticing that is what made me realize that it's because of that, that Luvi is so unpredictable now, though. Even if Zahine spoiled the hell out of him when he was young, he still grew up under very strict rules. Pretty much everything he did was heavily regulated. (With Zahine, it was for Luvi's health and wellbeing at a time when he was very frail and weak. With Mattias later on, it was just because Luvi was a tool that was potentially very dangerous to everyone in Elyki as well if he wasn't...essentially "holstered properly")
Now that he's away from that, he's suddenly bombarded with choices that he's never had to make before. He wants to be nice, and good-- partly because that's what he views his older brother and Zahine as being, and partly because he wants to make friends. (and then not have to worry about feeling like he has to or wants to hurt them)
His upbringing with Zahine taught him more that he needs to watch out for himself, and that-- while he should be cautious of others, he shouldn't hurt them unless he actually has to. That, as long as it won't detriment him, he should help people in dire need, but to generally let those in lesser need take care of their problems on their own. Kind of a good/neutral bordering.
But his upbringing with Mattias also taught him that...essentially, the lives of others that he doesn't know shouldn't ultimately matter to him. And that if he wants or needs something, he should just take it, regardless of how he has to get it. That if someone slights you even a little bit, or even if you just don't really care for someone. They annoy you? You can get rid of them.
And so really, he's just caught in this really confusing limbo where...kind of like a child that's just trying whatever comes to mind, seeing what happens from there, and deciding "Wow, that worked out pretty well!" or "That went really poorly..." from there.
Io and Zai try to help him with all of this, because they know he's overwhelmed, but neither of them can (or should, since that was a bit of an issue in and of itself; Luvi's obsessive nature definitely didn't help any of this) be there to hold his hand all the time.
Anyway, all of this is pretty much to say that I don't think I can put Luvi in any alignment, at the moment. He's got too much learning to do.
It also makes me wonder if Io was ever that way too, but I honestly don't really think he was. Not only was he old enough when Zahine went missing that he remembered a lot of the things that Zai stood for, but he was always especially defiant with Mattias. So while there might have been a little bit of figuring things out in that manner when he was taken under Pythius and Rhezar's wings, it wasn't anywhere near what it currently is with Luvi.

Buddy Daddies Finale Theory
I can't say what I'm really basing these thoughts on. I also am not sure if this is an actual theory or just my hopes/musings. But here we go:
Kazuki, Rei, and Miri will all make it. Kazuki or Rei might get injured, but nobody in this sweet, little family is dying on me!
However, I do think there is going to be a loss and after the end of Ep. 8, my bet is on Kyutaro (though I hope I am wrong!)
For a variety of reasons, all of which are valid, Rei, and perhaps Kazuki too, are gonna go after Shigeki and Ogino. If not outright killing them (perhaps symbolizing that Rei and Kazuki have changed and are different from them), they will somehow be out of the picture, leaving Rei as the head of the Suwa family/organization
Rei and Kazuki will continue to stay in that world or business, possibly to try and change the practices of the Suwa organization or still feeling too tied to it. So, Rei will step up to become the head of the Suwa organization, except he's doing things a little differently from his father. Rei will be handling that during the day while Miri is at school. During the same time, Kazuki will somewhat retire from missions and instead take over Yadorigi from Kyutaro, maintaining the place as both a cafe and location to exchange/gather intel. (Just let this man cook and be appreciated for his food/drinks)
Like Rei said in Ep. 8, his home is the apartment where he, Kazuki, and Miri live. And that's gonna stay the same. Their apartment will continue to be their home. Nobody is going to move to the Suwa manor and that place will instead become like an office or workspace for Rei. While they may all somewhat spend their day apart from each other, this little family always comes together at night in the apartment for dinner and family time.

Not fully related to the above, but also just wanted to throw my two cents into the conversation about this: I don't think we've crossed over into the present yet (or, we're still in the flashback). I feel it would explicitly be said when the show jumps back to the present or there would be overlapping events that clearly allude to the merging of the two timelines. I haven't watched a whole lot of anime, so I do not know if this is a common story technique or not and if there is like a trope or narrative device used in these situations.
I do agree, given Rei's growth and development in the relationship he has with Miri, going back and rewatching that first scene, Rei's reaction seems a little out of character now (like he still does not really care about Miri). But, and I saw a post about this earlier (sorry I forgot your @), if it's not actually Miss Anna calling, and instead Kyutaro or someone else with the voice changer, this could explain Rei's response. If this call is being made to lure Kazuki and Rei into a trap, and Miri does not actually have a runny nose or fever (I kinda forgot the specifics), then Rei's seemingly unfazed or uncaring reaction could be him simply trying to appease Kazuki's overprotective papa dramatics. Rei's "I guess" could be he truly didn't notice anything wrong with Miri because nothing is, she's just being used as bait. Regardless of the how the organization gets its info on Kazuki and Miri, they will know how much she means to both of them and what they are willing to do for her. That is why calling them and saying Miri is not in outright trouble or danger, but simply needs the love and help of her papas will quickly draw them to wherever the organization wants them.
I could be completely wrong, but just some of my thoughts about how the rest of the season may play out. I think the wait for next week's episode is gonna be a lot harder for me than previous waits.

( Hey everyone! Since Sons of Theseus is basically a fic, I wanted to make an author's notes sort of post explaining some of the things going on in it.

Too Long; Didn't Read:
Bryan: After being trapped in a false reality for over a year, Fury had difficulty grasping if he was actually free of his perfect dream or still stuck. He found Dragunov during the eighth King of Iron Fist Tournament. Due to their shared history, Fury made him his basis of what was real or not. Sergei died during Azazel's rebirth, causing Bryan to rampage across continental Europe, Dragunov's corpse in tow, to the HQ of the Gold Raptors. He witnessed Sergei's resurrection and went with him to the Battle of Yakushima (after all, who was gonna stop him?). He panicked when he perceived Sergei on the brink of death again and intervened in Dragunov's fight with Victor. Sergei was only enacting a ruse, however, and attacked Bryan instead. Their tussle was interrupted by Devil Kazuya. When the dust settled, Bryan realized Dragunov is just as strong as he ever was, and thus knows now for certain that he is in the real world, and it is his for the taking.
Sergei: An attempt to give a graduation gift to his younger sister was hideously misinterpreted, causing him to lose his temper and have a painful coughing fit. He was dispatched to the King of Iron Fist Tournament to represent Russia and defeated Shaheen. Part of the Coliseum collapsed during Azazel's appearance. He was crushed under rubble and killed. At the instant of his death, the Gold Raptors captured a snapshot of his being down to the quantum level and reconstructed him, minus the cancer in his lungs and throat he did not know he had. The Major, leader of the Raptors, sent him to the Battle of Yakushima, where he fought with Victor. He feigned an injury to catch the Raven off-guard, but Bryan "rescued" him before he could follow through. Outraged at the lost opportunity, Dragunov attacked Bryan instead, stabbing him in the thigh. Devil Kazuya brought the entire battle to a fiery halt. Initially despairing over what he thought was a complete failure of his mission, Sergei realized that he had almost killed Fury without much effort. If he could do that fresh from the grave, then his future potential is limitless.

Stuff I Want to Mention:
The thread's title, Sons of Theseus, refers to the Ship of Theseus thought experiment: "is something still the same thing if it has all of its original parts replaced?" Both Bryan and Dragunov go through some hefty changes through the story. Fury gets his entire perception of reality rocked, deeply disturbing him for possibly the first time in his life. Sergei gets it worse -- he is literally rebuilt from the ground up.
There are two songs embedded in SoT: Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo, and Silent Running by Gorillaz. Both have lyrics relevant to the story.
Dead Man's Party:
I was hit by something last night in my sleep It's a dead man's party, who could ask for more? Everybody's comin', leave your body at the door Leave your body and soul at the door
Though I mostly used this song to go with the jovial atmosphere of Bryan's dream of Hollywood stardom, in his first post, he is hit by something in his sleep: Dragunov talking. The sheer shock of this is enough to snap him out of it!
Silent Running:

This song was a HUGE inspiration for SoT as a whole. These lyrics practically happen. Why?
Because Sons of Theseus is fix-it fic. imo Bryan and Dragunov have a lot of potential. Yeah, I know, I get it, T8 isn't about them. But blizzardrush and unbrydledfury are! With any luck, I gave them a compelling narrative to go along with the canon story.
Speaking of which, the entire thing, like most of my fics, was the result of brainworms. I didn't get T8 right out of the gate, and though I tried to avoid spoilers, I heard that the losers of the KoIF tournament would be killed. Since Bryan and Dragunov are villains, I assumed they would likely be goners. How was I supposed to write them if they were canonically dead? This wasn't the case, of course, but I liked the idea of actually killing one of my muses. Sergei drew the short straw because I was having trouble deciding how his character was developing. Now he has a blank slate! What a lucky guy!
I didn't want his resurrection to be an ass-pull handwaved by oh the Foundation Raptors are ~*~spooOOooky~*~ military mad science, but then I remembered there is precedent for them doing shit like this :^)
Bryan being stuck in a lotus-eater machine was the result of much brainstorming about how to keep a nearly-invincible cyborg subdued for over a year. Turns out it's easy -- you just target the ego. Fun fact: the duration his black box reports was the length of time between that post and the last post I made on unbrydled :')
Finally, there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it reference Bryan makes to a "thing in Vegas". He's talking about the three-way thread between him, Dragunov, and icecoldwilliams' Nina, in which they're chasing down a lost nuclear bomb before someone sets it off. I love continuity in my RP blogs; I feel like it gives them more weight.
So there you go! That wraps up SoT. Bryan and Dragunov are officially updated and back to regular programming.

Ohh, yes !! I think I have something that fits for both questions for Al right off the bat kinda. If I could make art of the stuff in my brain it'd be over but since I can't, yeah, I'll have to just talk about it. I really imagine Alastor's true demon form to be something grotesque and horrifying, more so than what we see in the show since I don't imagine that as his complete true form. My Alastor's true form would be a nightmarish amalgamation of the creature in Antlers, the Xenomorph Queen and a hint of the gaping dragon in Dark Souls.
He has monstrous features of a huge, "rotting" stag and something more crocodilian because another, I guess, "unique" feature of my take on Alastor is that his deer aesthetic is very off putting, this is very much in the realms of the "not deer" rather than an actual deer and I personally also relate him to a crocodile more than a deer internally so thats kind of a dual/hidden motif for him. This is kinda the supernatural representation of Alastor appearing to be a kind, charming gentleman but actually being a savage, unnatural killer underneath that.
Tbh, I've gone back and forth on it because I think the fanon of Al having a little deer tail is super cute but I don't think mine has one. His true form has a tail, but its long and reptilian and not deer-like. So I guess if I give my Al a little hidden tail it would more reflect this and instead of being a cute deer tail it'd be more like a velvety nub, so not cute and fluffy like the way the fandom depicts it.
It also kinda ties to Al's swamp aesthetic and I personally have an idea that Al's "serial killer name" or at least one of the nicknames that the public gave the supposed perpetrator of his killings was "the bayou beast." So yeah, that all kinda ties and links together for me but since this is my first time getting to actively write Alastor I haven't been able to really explore any of that too much until hopefully now ! Something I'd like to also go into is the esoteric / occult aspects of him but I'm sort of waiting to see what the canons gonna do with this first.

Also, as far as Dabi's concerned I tend to go against fanon with him pretty hard in general, and yeah, no, I'm def someone who likes to make this clear and obvious as possible. I understand a lot of it got popular before the major background reveals but to be honest as someone who watched and read the series with no spoilers my headcanons and thoughts about him developed pretty early on so I'm still kinda left baffled as to where and why fanon developed certain ways for him, like, outside of people just being wildy horny, kinda stereotyping alternative people in a grossly negative way and just sort of lacking narrative awareness in general, I guess ? So actually I guess I'm not baffled, more just irritated by it, actually. While Dabi IS alt, and I portray him as majorly a crust punk personally, the fandoms take of Dabi's altness is very shallow/inauthentic and focuses on shit that has nothing to do with punk/alt subculture or no more to do with it than mainstream culture ( Like being a junkie/drug addict and a sex fiend fuck boy ). So yeah, I pretty much headcanon Dabi as the complete opposite of what is popular and expected of him in fanon.
As for things to explore ? I'd love more Todoroki fam stuff !! And more stuff with the LoV, like just general stuff honestly but this can kinda tricky because both the LoV and the Todoroki family outside of Shoto can be hard to find as muses. The threads I have with the Todo fam rn are so special to me, I love them so much but I do hope the fandom livens up in May maybe.

for the write poll tag game, won by the roy kent wip (dear god what have i done)
this fic was born out of me knowing jack shit about football, so watching ted lasso was an experience. but also roy kent <33 and i thought of playing a little bit on that (transl. i was being self-indulgent)
i've never written for him before so the characterization feels a bit off, and it is a wip in its very early stages, coming directly from my notes app so be kind please. also i'm not 100% sure i counted the votes right (i failed maths three times let me be)
“no! i mean—i didn't mean you, i'm sorry,” she said, alarmed, then pinched the bridge of her nose. “i wasn't calling you an asshole. i was calling him an asshole—sorry.” “you said that already,” he mused, and watched her press her lips together in a harsh line, as if keeping the next 'sorry' trapped between her teeth.
“that was a first date? jesus.” “charming, right?”
“ah, shit. love's gonna kill me.” “what?” “uh, nothing. well—my friend lent me this dress,” he looked at her, still puzzled. “her name's love. she actually set this up, thought it'd be funny if i could say 'love brought us together'.”
“good. well, it was nice meeting you, but i'm exhausted—i'll see you tomorrow,” she pointed in roy’s direction, a mock warning tone. “sure,” he sighed. “bye, keely.” as she walked away, roy saw her turn around and, from behind the woman's shoulder, give him two thumbs up and a wide grin. he scoffed.
“so, where are you from?” “well, huh, not here.” “are you fucking with me?” “sorry,” she laughed this time, leaning a little bit closer with the ripple of it. “it's just—i don't know- it's stupid. i'm always extra cautious during first dates with what i say about me,” her eyes widened then, quickly glancing at him. “not that—i mean this isn't—fucking hell.” “it could be,” he shrugged.
“well, i better get—” “can i get your number?” roy asked, hands stuffed in his pockets. she was already turning away from him with a smile, and stopped mid-step. “i thought i'd ask.”
“roy kent? like the footballer?” she asked, looking at her phone screen. “i—sure. that.” he chuckled, and a pout took over her lips. “why are you laughing? is that not his name?” “no, no, you're right. just—didn't realize how much you're not from here.”
good, he typed. and then: do you want to go on an actual date? - depends. know any decent place with actually very good food? that is very specific. - i don't like fancy places, but i do enjoy a good meal alright then. i can cook for you. - oh, so you're a serial killer and i'm your next victim you asked for a good meal. - you own a restaurant? no, but i own a house. - see? serial killer. inviting me to your place on the first date. technically second. he hurried to add the next text. would you prefer yours? - god no, this place won't fit both of us, let alone the good meal you're promising roy let his fingers hover over the screen as the three dots appeared, disappeared, appeared. - alright then. but i will send love your address in case she doesn't hear from me after a couple of days now i know my time limit to make your body disappear. - dang it. a pause. oh, well. i'll take that risk.

First of all thanks for the chapter it was a very good one and I appreciate your work , and sorry for the multitude of questions
Second, I was thinking in the past few days about how much shiki could change things and a sudden though hit me, shiki could possibly kill mahogara right? And if she did so, would that mean Megumi is getting slapped with a special class rank? (And if she did that, how would satoru and the others react)
Third, I was thinking about the balance between the 3 great families and well, I can't really understand why the kamo are among them, like , the gojo have the six eyes and infinity, the zenin have the 10 shadows and mahoraga, but what do the kamo have? Blood manipulation, don't get me wrong it's a cool as hell technique, but I don't think it measures up to the other two(like choso and the death paintings are an exception because their curse blood gives them both poisonous/acidic properties and allows them to turn cursed energy into more blood), idk what do you think?
Fourth, I can't stop imagining geto watching shiki's dance during obon, like I can imagine him being far away enough so satoru doesn't find him, but I can't take the image of geto just being there watching things unfold out of my head
Fifth, do you plan on continuing your Tokyo ghoul or your One piece stories? And i heard you're gonna move your works completely to AO3 , is that true?

1: To my understanding, in order for the user of Ten Shadows to add a new shikigami to their roster, they must summon and defeat it by themselves.
Quoting Fushiguro from c.117: "You can exorcise a shikigami with multiple people, but doing so nullifies the technique's effect after the exorcism is done."
So, they can pull others into this ritual -but it's a 'useless exorcism,' as the sorcerer won't actually be able to summon the shikigami even if it's defeated. (Unless the shikigami is summoned for a similar purpose as in Fushiguro v. Shigemo, in which case Fushiguro wasn't actually trying to subdue Mahogara.)
TLDR: Neither Shiki nor Satoru can defeat Mahogara for Fushiguro to gain it as a shikigami.
2: I mean... given that the three clans are all stated to be descended from the Three Great Vengeful Spirits, I'd assume that means the three clans all have powerful sorcerers? In some ways you could argue that Blood Manipulation seems to fall short of Limitless and Ten Shadows, but maybe it also has to do with the situation as a whole. For example, say that there's a generation where there's only a Limitless user without Six Eyes and no Ten Shadows, I could easily see a sorcerer with Blood Manipulation from the Kamo Clan come out on top.
If there was ever a blood manipulator at some point in the past who could also manipulate other people's blood in addition to their own, I'd imagine that would be quite terrifying as well.
3: I don't think Geto would've taken the risk to watch Shiki's performance during Obon in person, but he definitely would've learned of it in short order.
4: left hand upon a mirror is discontinued; I don't see myself picking it back up and continuing it. and much madness must make is complete, with a nonzero chance of random au updates if the muse strikes in the future.

i think a recurring theme for rhys from beginning to current state of his character arc is that he always feels he has to be Something More. handsome jack was a goal to strive for in his years with hyperion (and adapting to hyperion work culture was necessary for him to survive), and then after that he tries so damn hard to match the borderlands' idea of megacorporate culture. of course he's incapable of completely drowning himself out-- he still made friends while with hyperion, and he still does a lot for sustainability tech/general philanthropic work with atlas instead of just focusing on weapons-- but rhys will always end up compromising himself some way or other. just because that's the nature of the world he wants to live in. in his head he has to do even the things he doesn't like to maintain the power and position that allows him to do the things he wants. by nature of having "things he doesn't like" it also makes him feel he doesn't fit in with the rest of the megacorp CEOs out there who presumably have no issues doing what has to be done.

quintessential rhys song, and the title of my blog's desktop theme for almost 2 years lmao. even after killing thousands on helios and killing even more after, even after all the pain and trauma the guy he latched himself onto parasocially for years put him through, man's just gonna keep going. i think it's meaningful he was there for some version of his hero's last moments and then got to conquer him himself; he never needed to model himself after anyone to succeed, anyway.

corporate baby turned corporate dilf rhys! i think his arrogance will always be part of him, even though the events of tftbl humbled him. and despite the lessons he learned he doesn't have enough grit to completely turn the tide of the megacorp culture in the borderlands, either. he is a prisoner of a system that existed before he even knew about it, but he's trying his best within it anyway.

embarrassingly my favourite track to listen to when i'm doing shippy/smutty stuff with rhys (and my #1 played song according to spotify for the year 2022, wtf). he sacrifices a lot of normalcy/living a relatively ordinary life for his Big, Big dreams, but it doesn't stop him from falling in love headfirst and wanting simplicity, anyway. he tells himself he knows his priorities and work always comes before everything else-- especially considering the work that he's doing and how many lives he's improving-- but the selfish romantic in him will Always Exist, much to his annoyance. he's mature enough to let love go if he can't have it, but "he misses it, every now and then".

rhys is so fucking lonely by the time of BL3 and by extension new tales from the borderlands, but it won't take him off the path he's chosen. yes, he has friends. yes, he always has people to talk to. but everyone who knows him as Just Rhys are all scattered across the galaxy, and he can't even contact a good number of them, and this knowledge of the friends he can no longer see will always quietly hollow him. it's got to be worth it, of course-- he's making his dreams come true, he's making up for shitty things he's done, he's making it big... but sometimes he'll wonder what if he just stayed with fiona, sasha, and vaughn? what if he really escaped the corporate world and just became a regular guy? he didn't owe promethea anything when he chose to save it after atlas 1.0 destroyed it to high hell, he didn't have to do it. rhys doesn't necessarily regret his chosen path, that said, but it doesn't stop him from wondering what could have been when the loneliness really hits him.

"Embarrassing moment? Me? Preposterous. I am one of Ash Legion's most skilled centurions. I don't let myself get into such situations, it's unbecoming of me." Igna scoffs, as if her very image were directly struck.
"But... Hmm." She muses, a claw to her furred chin. "There is a shame I hold, embarrassment for another perhaps."
A stern look adorns her features, one with a hint of contempt. "Once, I had a very short relationship with an Iron Legionnaire who turned out to be... Rebellious, let's say...."
Her gaze suddenly shifts to be like daggers aiming for a kill. "These next words do not leave this room, understand?"
"...I got close with that legionnaire, for he was suspected of treachery to the Legions. But I found his skill... Captivating. Though he was not a man of commitment, I still earned a cub from that brief association."
"He was shortly apprehended, and I saw naught of him again. Time passed and I bore our cub, he was the spitting image of his sire, and truthfully? I could not stand it." Her voice seems to hold little care, in fact, it's more disappointment twisted within it.
"But, my duty as a mother came first. I named him Allius. I raised him for that first year, assuring to teach him in ways that he would not end up like his sire. I would not raise a traitor to the Legions."
"By the time I sent him to fahrar, by all means he should have excelled. His sire, though a criminal, was an exceedingly skilled charr. And I, his dam, brought yet even more skill than he." A small snarl accompanies a quiver of her fang-baring lips. "And yet he could not stay in a single warband! I don't know how many times I heard about him being removed, falling behind all the other cubs!"

And I shall bear no more, I would have better served Ash that year I was away taking care of that cub. And I will adhere to this from now onwards." At this, Igna seems complete in her answer. She turns around and holds her arms behind her back, standing dignifiedly.
"That will be all I say on the matter. Dismissed."

it's my blog i get to be as self-indulgent as i want!!! messy and unorganized talk about ran and kids down below but tldr ran adopts a kid (later on, not during the verse itself) in the final timeline✌️
i read this comic a while back and i keep thinking about it... you know that feeling when you find a piece of art that perfectly aligns with your headcanons about your muse? yeah... yeah........
summary:
while ran watches kakucho take care of the kids at the orphanage, he wonders what's so good about raising children. one kid in particular always likes to ask ran to play with him, which confuses him. ran asks if the kid's gotten used to life in tenjiku (the orphanage). he says yes. he gets to eat every day, and kakucho and izana are kind, but izana can be really scary when he's angry. when the kid first arrived, he said he was an unwanted child, and izana got angry and told him to never say that again the kid says ran is really nice. he's always bringing snacks and games, but ran disagrees. his "kindness" is only out of selfishness. ever since he was little, ran has felt as if there's a "scary monster" inside him, but he didn't hate it. no matter what he did, rindou would always follow him, so ran didn't care about what the monster made him do. ran did whatever he wanted. he thought that maybe one day the monster would go really far... but then he met kakucho and izana. for the first time in his life, he found something that he "longed for". izana and kakucho were unreasonable and extreme, but they were good guys. "when i'm illuminated by that light, i can keep being human. that's why, for my own sake, i'm kind to them." the kid, understandably, doesn't really get it, which ran wasn't really expecting him to. but then he asks ran to squat down and gives him a hug, saying, "when i’m not feeling okay, izana and kakucho do this to me. there, there. it’s okay, it’s gonna be okay." ran thinks to himself that funnily enough, by trying to raise a child, he ended up being raised instead (aka by trying to teach a kid a lesson, the kid ended up teaching him one instead).
that bit about the "monster" is something i've had as a headcanon for ran for the longest time (in less childlike terms anyway lol), because ran is... usually apathetic, doesn't care about anything except himself and rindou. i doubt he cared much about killing that one guy when he was 13. he lives his life in a neutral kind of numbness and needs something to keep him entertained.
i do blame wakui on not properly utilizing the s62 guys and just making them lose to make toman/south look better LOL, but i really don't think he took any of his fights seriously, simply because he couldn't be bothered. he had no stakes in any of them... until kakucho and izana got shot. aside from situations with rindou, that is the only time we see him show genuine emotions as opposed to him just being there acting nonchalant, mocking, or wearing what i call his fake bitch smile.
he says so himself: somehow he came to respect kakucho and izana, which i would say was the very first time he came to care about other people (and listen to what they say), ever. these two singlehandedly pulled ran back down to earth when he's always believed himself above everyone else. if he hadn't met them, he would have stayed completely apathetic to everything that didn't involve rindou. in a way, they do keep him "human", even if it's not by the normal moralistic standards.
this is especially true in the happy ending timeline, where he and rindou settle for a relatively peaceful life being club owners. though they didn't follow izana to work for his non-profit org, i KNOW for a fact that ran visits the orphanage frequently to give tons of gifts to the children there and they love him for it LOL. this, too, isn't because he cares particularly about children, but because he's still looking after izana and kakucho in his own way... also he likes to look good and these orphan kids adoring him makes a good impression for him lmao
.........and i loved this comic in particular, not only because of how well it portrayed my headcanon, but because i'm very fond of tired old men being worn down by a cute optimistic child who they end up directly or indirectly adopting <3 which means i'm half-stealing the comic's kid and making him my oc to incorporate him into my ran's final timeline verse <3 (half-steal bc the kid is just a stock character with no name LOL it's free real estate)
i don't really see ran with kids, but i also don't think it's unlikely. he's very much a family-oriented man, so it can go either way depending on the timeline tbh, but personally i always saw him with a daughter who inherited his diva attitude because of how much he'd spoil her rotten LMAOOOO but i see her existing more in a bonten-like verse tho, so for the happy end, i wanna give him a kid who also "keeps him human."
i'll have to make a whole entirely different post for their relationship and their history later, but for the final timeline, ran is very close to this boy from the tenjiku orphanage whom he ends up adopting years later and naming ren, obviously to match with him and rindou's names because being more "human" doesn't mean he's more "humble" LOLLL

Sorry I would have copy pasted the question but I am on mobile and as we all know tumblr is excellent and efficient on mobile so I can't but
I HATE TO BRING UP FIONA'S KIDNAPPING BECAUSE IT'S SO OBVIOUS AND REALLY ALL WE SEE OF HER LIFE IN THE GAME BUT
I do think one of the most interesting changes she goes through is her perception on killing to survive. With Debilitas being the only stalker you can go through the story without killing (unless you're on a new game+), regardless of whether or not you kill him, you see Fiona going through the same arc of hating this place and feeling horrible for what she's done
And then feeling a little more numb over it, musing on how death must be painful but not really addressing her guilt in Riccardo's case
And then by the time you get to Lorenzo and she's finally able to escape, any hint she might feel bad about that is gone, and she even goes as far as to call him a bastard, the only time Fiona swears at anyone in the game.
Like, I'm not gonna say that this turned Fiona into some badass action ready hero, but I do think it was interesting to see the shift in how she felt about killing to defend herself, and I think the characters she killed in particular definitely helped that part of her arc along
Like, Debilitas was the most innocent of the stallers. If Fiona kills him she laments that she never meant to hurt anyone, an easy perspective to relate to given that I'm sure the majority of people don't ever want to have to go that far just to survive, and made even worse from the fact that Debilitas was the one who had the most innocuous intentions
Then when Daniella dies she expresses a similar sense of shock and guilt, and adds how much she hates this place and the situation she is in
Then when you get to Riccardo's corpse she muses that it looks painful and death must really be... well, painful. There's a somber reflection here, but no real moment of disgust that she did this (understandably, because fuck Riccardo)
And then with Lorenzo you get the full completion of that. "I lived, I survived despite everything you tried to do to me. And you're dead". It's framed in a triumphant light
So yeah I think that is the biggest overall shift and change in Fiona's character through the game. You know that once she leaves that castle she might not be okay, but at least she'll be completely ready to do what it takes to defend herself.
