Happy 2019! We are deeply, deeply sorry for the long hiatus. Flu season is getting around, and the crew are still sick, plus I’ve been majorly busy with loads of work now that spring is coming and job hunting season/ visa renewal season for me. But to make up for the long absence, the crew gathered everything everyone missed even while being sick so I will lay out everything. First off, the chapter will resume this week I think as last time, it was left where Zoro gets acquainted with his new friend, Yasu as he brought him to a town of smiles and suffrage, Ebisu town. Everyone was all smile despite the hunger, pain, and illness going around, they still keep a big happy face. Zoro thought it was strange, but understood the hardship they are w/standing. One of the villagers mentioned to Yasu that a Robin-hood hero pass by the village again. Supposedly, this hero brings them food and water to ease the hunger of the villagers. Who could this stranger be? They call him ox-free. Back at Onigashima, MAJOR trouble stirred up! Big Mom showed up to get Zeus back, and brought her whole crew with them. It was chaos! They steer the mother ship towards the water fall almost reaching to the top, but King, one of the big honchos, used his devil fruit, the dragon-dragon fruit, pteranodon style. He turned into a dinosaur, pterodactyl. Anyway, King knock the ship down as Big Mom sinks into the ocean. At the end, Sanji, Franky, Ussop, and Law are heading for the hills to avoid getting caught. Law tells the guys that if they caught, they must not reveal their plans, and to not pick a fight as it would ruined their chance to fight for real. Sanji then hears screaming from the village, and it was none other than Page. Demanding for Sanji to show up, he destroys the soba stand, and hurting the villagers. Suddenly, Sanji kicks Page to the curb. He tells the guys to go on ahead as he pulls out the weapon that Niji left for him back at WCI. Sanji then pulls out his weapon and BAM! The dark knight, Soba Mask, appears! Black suit, family hair do, shades, rocket shoes, I mean the whole enchilada. Apparently, this new suit really is useful and beating Page. At the end, a surprise got washed up ashore. Chopper takes a stroll with Tama, Kiku, and Momo and they spot Big Mom. However, when she woke up, she doesn’t know her where she is nor who she is. EH?! AMNESIA? Will it last? What’s gonna happen if regains her memory? Big time yonkou will clash! What fate will hold for the kingdome of Wano?! GAH! So many mysteries and questions! Guess we’ll have to leave it up to the big man. Let’s be surprised. Also, if you want to read official manga, please use official websites. Do not go around revealing spoilers on any media such as FB, TW, or any other to everyone who are patiently waiting for the official released. It’s rude and messed up. Be considerate. Next, totally behind on the anime, but we’ll wrap it up in one. We finally see Luffy catching up to Katakuri’s level and getting the respect after finding out that Flampe pulled a dirty trick and put that brat in her place. This past weekend’s episode was a major throw down! We finally see Luffy’ new awesome gear 4th move, SNAKE MAN, which it increased his speed of his attacks. Katakuri however was still one step ahead thanks to his awesome observation haki. Both warriors are going all out majorly. The guys pulled their final move into a huge impact of haki!! Meanwhile, Sanji and Pudding wait in an alley. Pudding hesitates to say goodbye to Sanji, but approached him for a final request. At the end, the fight is over. The victor is…none other than our fellow rubber champ, Luffy-kun! Katakuri stands up and asked him if he will beat Big Mom. He vowed to come back and do so. Katakuri finally passed out defeated for the first time. At the end, Luffy leaves his hat on his face as show of his respect and Pekoms shows up. It’s 5 until 1 am. Next time, Pekoms helps Luffy by awakening his sulong form, but will it save our hero? DON’T MISS IT! Thank you, Katakuri for putting up a major fight. We hope to see you down the road. Now on with the goods! First, we received a telegram from Tongari-san as he caught the flu, but will get better in no time. He says that in March, the tower will be celebrating its 4th anniversary, and loads of fun events will be happening. The anniversary week will start from March 13th to the 16th. There will be a special live performance from Kitadani Hiroshi and Ostuki Maki. Details of events and special live will be announced soon. Moreover, check out the new theme for the 4th anniversary. It’s an Alice in Wonderland theme. They’ll be selling new buttons of the Straw Hats including, Ace, Sabo, and Law. The tower will also be having a stamp rally event so more details will be announced soon. The spring event and buttons will be available on March 1st. Next, the tower is celebrating the beautiful Nico Robin’s birthday. Her bday is on Feb.6th. To celebrate, the stores will be selling Robin’s birthday button and key chain, another bday button, art board, tote bag, & postcard set. Also, they’ll be giving out a bromide card if you visit the park, & a free poster if you purchase over 3000 yen. The café will be serving her Flower-Flower Soybean milk pudding. It will come w/ an edible flower w/ a bit of drizzled berry sauce. Delish! The café will also celebrate Vivi’s birthday. They’ll serve her royal white curry udon noodle with some blue jelly and an edible flower. If you order either, you’ll receive a free birthday card. Also, if there are those in the mood to celebrate Valentine, the café will be serving this limited time Mr. Prince’s aka Sanji’s Love choco banana waffle served a glasses sweet crisp shape. 19. Remembrance of Things Lost

1. Student ID

In the hustle of graduating college and moving out of the house I lived in, packing was secondary. My family rented a van to drive there and bring me back home. It’s kind of silly how I lost it after holding on to the same ID for all four years, my face almost entirely scratched out, the card itself no doubt a cesspool of germs. Certainly after being kept between bras and tucked in-between skirts and skins when I didn’t have pockets. The tiny particles of cafeteria food that probably slipped into the cracks. The nights of momentary panic after coming home from a night out without it, only to find the card in my student mailbox the next day. I was blessed with many good samaritans and should’ve lost it sooner. After a couple weeks at home I couldn’t find it and my room was too sweltering to spend much energy looking for anything. It’s unfortunate because I still look twelve. I had a good five years of discounted movie tickets and theater screenings to take advantage of, but I like to think of myself as a patron of the arts so I’ll get over paying full-price for everything.

2. Parrot earring

I buy earrings in bulk because I have a habit for leaving them everywhere. Thrift stores are especially good for this. I mostly like gold, silver, bronze and off-white jewelry now. But At 19 I was on my Vanessa Huxtable shit with colorful floral sweaters and bright tights and earrings with character - literally. The Betty Boop ones were on heavy rotation, just like my parrot earrings were. Those were wooden and painted red, blue, and green. Losing one earring is worse then losing them both. You’re constantly reminded of the missing soulmate. The parrots are too specific to mix with another lost soul. So I keep one. Maybe when I’m ambitious I’ll make it into a necklace. But I probably won’t, it’ll just stay in the same ceramic jar collecting dust.

3. One of Two Goldfish

Nigerians love party favors. You didn’t go to Nigerian party is you don’t come back with a mug with someone’s face on it, or dish towels, or a tote bag with something like “Olu and Mayowa’s Wedding” emblazoned in bold. When I was in high school my mom came back from a party with two goldfish. They were the first pets I ever owned. I was on a real Godfather kick at the time so I named the fish Michael and Connie (after the Corleones). We got them a 10 gallon tank but they never seemed to grow bigger, staying a couple inches long and relatively healthy. I guess I lost my motivation to care for them - yikes, maybe I shouldn’t have kids - because when I ran out of fish food two years later, I wasn’t in a hurry to get more. I figured there was enough algae and shit in the tank for them to feed off of, right? Until the day an old friend came by, looked at my fish tank and said “I think this one’s dead?” Never found the other one. My hypothesis is that Michael ate Connie. I turned over the gravel and plastic rock decoration and did not find the second fish. R.I.P. Connie. Sorry I drove your brother to cannibalism.

4. $50 in Thailand

In high school I had the absolutely wild experience of traveling to Thailand for 3 ½ weeks during my junior year. I went with the theater troupe I was a part of; we had spent the months leading up to the trip at our director’s house Skyping with the Thai group we’d be staying with. Northern Thailand was a colorful, humid, magical time, even though I had the shits for a third of the trip and came back to school with a mound of make-up homework and AP Exams the next week. Each of us were given a daily stipend, but aside from that I brought $150 of my own cash. Towards the tail end of ur trip we spent a night or two in Pai. I stepped out for the afternoon that day and came back to find my clean laundry stacked on my bed and the $50, which I could have sworn I kept somewhere secure, gone. It didn’t really matter then. But I felt it when I came home and was swamped with homework and exams and just wanted to blow my money on retail therapy. Who the fuck loses $50? My absentminded ass. It’s like my brain goes on autopilot when I have to put something important away. I haven’t outgrown that, unfortunately.

5. A piece of molar

The second semester of senior year of college is a lot like home stretch of senior year of high school. Except more illicit substances, angst and skipping class. Anyway. One day I woke up as normal, went to one of the last classes of the year, and found my tongue touching a fragment in my upper right molar that wasn’t there before. It was chipped, like really chipped, like “can’t even root canal this, take the whole tooth out” chipped. I had used up most of my dental insurance that year and had to wait until January for the extraction. I spent 6 months chewing on the left side of my mouth, averting food particles the best I could lest one of them lodge into the cavity and fester and cause a heart-attack inducing sepsis (you can tell I go on WebMd too much). It was odd getting used to the gap where my molar was. Now it’s just smooth gum and hurts a little every once in awhile, if phantom pain from tooth extractions is even a thing.

6. The obvious

I’m not going to get into painstaking detail except that it was fall, but the point in fall where it gets chilly and you’re reminded winter is coming. I was doing a bunch of paperwork to prepare for the following semester I would spend in France, sort of seeing someone, but in that not-too-serious way that happens when you both know that what you’re doing is temporary. The event itself was fine, it took several tries and lots of sweating but ultimately patience won and the deed was done. I didn’t feel too different. And it didn’t hurt at all, really. As I walked home that night I texted my best friend rapidly: It happened! :)

First off, last week’s chapter was totally chaotic as we see Luffy and the gang finally reached the area where Wano kingdom is, but the journey was full of dangerous waves as the gang are swamped by large koi fish and getting pushed around the sea. Oda-san re-created the scene Hokusai’s Sea of Japan storm painting with the koi fish splashing around. GUA! He’s totally gonna input a lot Edo style in this story. Anyway, the koi fish go up the mountain with a stream guiding them. At the end, Luffy woke with a pinch from a crab and encounters a lion and baboon ready to duke it out. Looks like he finally arrived at the destination. What action will he take? Where are the others? Let’s see how it plays out this week. Next, this past weekend’s episode was mind-blowing as we see the gang finally making their gateway, while they run into a familiar homie which was Kingbaum flirting with a female tree homie. Luffy and Nami were happy to see him alive, but Kingbaum was not thrilled to see them at all. So he’s back again being the steed for Nami. Poor guy can’t get a break. Back at the city, all of Big Mom’s crew are taking action to go after Luffy and Bege, but more deadly trouble approaches when Big Mom has again gone through her sugar meltdown, and starts rampaging the city. Perospero was able to calm her down telling her that the wedding cake was stolen by Luffy which is lie to keep the city safe. However, Big Mom threatens him if is lying, she will take his lifespan. He’s a big pinch. At the end, Big Mom flies at a fast speed and caught with them slashing like a maniac. Next time, Nami has a plan up her sleeve that will shake off Big Mom. Will it work? Guess we’ll see. Now on with the goodies! First off, look who came in for quick visit. Yup, it’s our totally fave nakama, Tongari-san. Sorry to make travel in this horrible weather, my friend. So what’s the buzz going at the tower? Tongari-san says that loads of amazing stuff is happening! First off, to celebrate the OP anniversary, the tower will be having lots of talk shows happening for next weekend. They’ll invite many special guests such as figurine creators, game creators of the new OP game, World Seeker, voice actors of the Straw Hats, cast of the PHANTOM live show, and Greg along with some editors of OP. They will give away free tickets to these events. Deadline already past, but if you were able to apply beforehand. You’re good to go. You can invite one friend w/ you to the event, and you can apply once for one show. Winners will be sent an email along with a number. Follow the instructions when you’re given the email. Bring an ID to confirm you’re identity. Schedule of the talk shows are posted up. Next, here are some yummy treats the tower will sell for the summer festival: they’ll have Buggy’s watermelon with pineapple gelatin vitamin drink, his chocolate banana pudding energy drink, Luffy’s citron salty gelatin mineral drink, and Chopper’s small bucket of cotton candy with various flavors. Yummy! Yum! Yum! Next, schedule of photo greet with Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji will be on July 17th, 19th, 24th, 26th, and 30th. They’ll give out lottery tickets with numbers around 6:15 to 7:30. If you see you’re number on the board, you win the lottery. Photo greet will be at 9:00 pm. We’ll leave a link with details for those interested. Next, don’t forget that Corazon’s birthday is coming up and you can still get the birthday bromide card of him if you visit the tower. They’ll also give away free birthday posters of him if you make purchases over 3000 yen. Don’t miss it! Next, new goodies will be sold at the store such as this limited ed. towel of the Straw Hats, and some yummy popcorn with flavors of cheese, caramel, salt butter, and milk chocolate. Great snack if you have the munchies. Next, all Straw Hat stores will be having a campaign to celebrate the Mugiwara Festival. Next week, they’ll give out free bromide cards Whole Cake Island special scenes if you purchase goods over 500 yen. Next, loads of new t-shirts: they’ll sell Chopper’s insignia hat t-shirt in navy blue & hot pink color, Germa siblings colored t-shirts with the double 66 of Ichiji, Niji, Yonji, and black color which I think it’s Judge’s. They’ll also sell, lil’ Sanji no.3 t-shirt that he wore back then. Next, they’ll sell this “don” gold color necklace, clear pouches with the OP logos, and a blue color with the gang on both sides, and this cute blue color OP logo scrunchy. Next, all JUMP shops will be selling awesome new goodies such as these three envelope set of devil fruit designs of Luffy’s gum-gum fruit, Law’s op-op fruit, and Buggy’s chop-chop fruit. They’ll also sell this Japanese cloth of Luffy’s gum-gum fruit good for a curtain decoration or table mat. Next, they’ll sell this neon bar themed goods such as acrylic figurines, water bottles, buttons, pouches, tote bags, Japanese coaster mats, and a big towel. Next, the HELLO OP exhibition in Eihime have more new items such as acrylic charms, a folder, a t-shirt, a mug of Law, and a colorful pencil pouch. Next, Jump WORLD is having a Treasure Hunting event where you try to find as many colorful jewels and you could get a free prize. More awesome the Straw Hat stores will be selling such as these totally rad hats of various jolly rogers characters including the navy hat and key holder hat of Luffy, clip boards of Luffy and the navy, & a long towel of the Straw Hats’ jolly rogers. Next, coming soon in Odaiba, a new OP event is coming up next month called “The Mist” where the gang meet with a mysterious man who ate a devil fruit made him a mist man. More details will be revealed soon. Next, the 50th anniversary of the Jump exhibition will be serving food dishes from popular anime. The OP dish will have Luffy’s favorite food such as chicken drum stick, fried chicken, veggies, and straw hat rice. Very delish! Next, here is the CD cover album the for entire Island Song collection which will be released on Aug.24th. It will have all the characters songs including Big Mom’s Bloody Tea Party. Next, the title for the next book will be Vivre Card Fan Book which will contain fun facts of OP from fans. Also, if you buy either the new OP Open Door books or any of the volumes, you’ll get a free magnet clip, and if you collect them all, it will complete the picture of the Germa theme. Behind it will have a character collage of Luffy and the others. Last, but not least, here is the new DVD cover of vol.12 of WCI arc that has Yonji. It will be released on Aug.1st. One more thing, here is a new drawing that Oda-san made to celebrate the JUMP anniversary. He drew Luffy with Goku. And here’s a pic of seiyuu of Jinbei (Katsuhisa-san), Pedro (Miki-san), Perospero (Uchida-san) Luffy (Mayumi-san) Ussop (Kappei-san), and Nami (Akemi-san). Happy Super Duper Monday, minna-san! I hope everyone had a good weekend. As for us, we are stoked for many fun events happening this summer. The weather is getting a bit warmer so be sure to keep yourselves hydrated and wear light clothing. Well, we done our obligation so we have loads of fun news to share with you. You know the drill. First off, last week’s chapter was EXTRAORDINARY! With the gang finally out of Totland, now they can rest easy now that Sanji is back with them. Meanwhile, all the representatives from the 20 kingdoms are sailing towards to Reviere. We see that Rebecca and Kyros joined with Violet with King Riku. Suddenly, a bunch pirates were plotting to kidnap Violet, but alas, the great marine hero Coby arrives and put a stop to them. He and Helmeppo are escorting the Riku family. Then, Coby reads the news about Luffy and Sanji. He couldn’t stop crying knowing that Luffy is making his name. The whole world reads the shocking news about the attempt assassination of Big Mom. Everyone was shocked to read the BIG BIG BIG NEWS about Luffy. So new bounties have increased, and a new Yonko has been announced. First, Sanji has a bounty of 330 million berries, but was really disappointed that his wanted poster added his family name with it. Once again, it depressed him. At the end, Luffy sees his bounty, but was sad cause it decreased to 150 berries, but Brook told him he misread it. It was announced that the new Yonko is none other… drum roll, please! Da da da da da da! LUFFY!! Yes, is now a Yonko with a bounty of 1 billion 500 million!!! YOWZA! That’s a big increase than 2 years ago when he fought against Doflamingo. The news shocked the gang?! Straw Hat Luffy is the 5th Yonko!!!! What will happen next time?! Guess we’ll see how things will unfold in this new adventure. There is no manga this week due to Golden Week so be patient and wait. Next, this past weekend’s episode was scary as we see Big Mom going nuts to see that Brook destroyed the picture of Mother Caramel. Meanwhile, as everyone tries to fulfill their mission, the Big Mom pirates surrounded the Vinsmokes ready to kill them as they planned. Judge was utterly in distraught finding out that he was played for a sucker for trusting Big Mom. At the end, Katakuri approaches quickly to stop Bege and Luffy from carrying on their plan to kill Big Mom as Brook urges Luffy to show the wrecked picture to Big Mom one more time so that she can screech her lungs out for the KX launcher to kill her. Next time, the fight goes on. Will they succeed with this plan? Don’t miss it! Now on with the news! Look who came to hang out with us for a bit. It’s Tongari-san! Take it away, my friend. Share your enthusiastic news. First off, Golden Week is a half week holiday, and the tower is getting ready to celebrate the future king of the pirates birthday, Luffy!!! His birthday is on May 5th, and it’s a good day. Its kid’s day so all children in elementary school will have free entry to the park. Next, Tongari Store are selling these adorable plush purses of mascots of Kumacy, Chopper, Bepo, and Kung Fu dugong to keep your phone or ticket safely tucked w/o losing it. Next, Mugiwara Café will be giving out picture frame designs for free for customers when you order something from the menu and have pictures taken at the tower. Only available May 1st, 2nd, and 6th from noon to six pm. Last entry will be at five-thirty. Next, the store will be selling the birthday buttons of the character for May. Here is also the new birthday button of Luffy with his cheerful face. Also, if you make purchase over 1000 yen, you’ll get a free birthday poster of Luffy. Moving on, last week, all arcades stocked this new King of Artist figurine of Luffy in Bound Man pose from Whole Cake Island. If you got your coins and game face ready, get on with it, and beat that crane. Next, Mugiwara store are selling these new mini tote bags of Ace, Law, and Chopper with the first letters of their names in bold color. Next, new acrylic straps of Luffy and Sanji have been released. Also, a new t-shirt of Luffy has been released which is his t-shirt from his kid days with Anchor in front and his kid self in the back. It’s a cute t-shirt. Next, they re-stocked more of these button sets of Ace, Zoro, Sanji, Ace, and Law. Next, more new buttons. This button sets of Luffy and Katakuri, and Zoro and Sanji in their Germa suits. You can also find them at the Jump Shops as well. Get it before it’s out of stock. Next, some awesome birthday goods of Luffy will also be at Mugiwara Stores and the tower such as this acrylic art board, tea cup, hand towel, t-shirt, friendly eco purse, and folders. Next, OP game app, Thousand Storm, we mentioned last week that its having a campaign of the Straw Hats in their new look. Pass many levels and get many coins to receive Luffy in his dashing pirate outfit. Next, new updates on the OP Summer event at USJ. First, last week, the website has launched the opening for reservations. You can purchase online or on the day you visit, but I would recommend you buy the tickets online so you avoid standing and waiting for your turn. If you purchased online, be sure to bring an ID and confirmation of your purchase so they can confirm it. The show is at 7:00 so you must be there 15 minutes early so you have time to find your seat. For the restaurant, There are still plenty of openings, but be quick otherwise you’ll have to wait till you visit the park and make reservations in person at the Beverly Hills Boulangerie. The window is located on the right side so stand in line and wait till they take your reservation time. For those who made reservations online, like the show tickets, bring ID and confirmation. You can have it your smartphone or print it out. In my opinion, you should print it just in case technology goes wrong. They have updated the menu they’ll have this year. You’ll be given a free drink such as orange juice at the entrance. For appetizers, they’ll have smoked duck, pastrami beef, smoked salmon, raw ham millefeu, and marinated shrimp and octopus with some delicacy sauce with hearts. For entre, you will have a choice to choose either the beef dish that has sirloin roast beef with layoinasse potatoes, and gratin soybeans. The fish dish has sautee sea beam with mash potatoes and eggplants. Both entres will include bread with butter. For kids menu, they’ll have Buggy’s Watch-Out-for-his-red nose dish. It will have Buggy’s chicken rice with a cherry tomato, fried shrimp with tartar sauce, omelet, chicken nugget, fresh steamed veggies, and macaroni gratin. For dessert, they’ll serve Tokimeki’s Strawberry Mousse. For drinks, you can order these colorful alcohol or non-alcohol drinks. For alcohol drinks, they’ll have Buggy’s “Who the hell you’re calling big nose” drink with an orange and cherry, and they’ll have for “You’re beautiful” strawberry sparkling wine. For non-alcohol, they’ll have “You’re cute” lemon soda cocktail, and Longing for the All-Blue drink with some colorful gelatin fish. If you order either of these drinks, you’ll be given a free random silver spoon of any Straw Hats. You will can also purchase a commemorative sweet dessert gift set of Sanji that will have a chocolate and fruit heart cakes with two tea bags, and a special message from Sanji. Let the cashier know before you leave. You’ll also have a chance to take a photo with the characters. No news yet who will be there this summer, but while you’re dining, waiters will escort you to the line so you can take your photo. Once you leave, you can head outside to purchase your photo frame. It’s a load of fun this summer. Updates on the other OP restaurant at the park and merchandise will be announced later. Also, they’ll have a Water Battle where you can watch a mini show of OP and get wet at the same time. Its oodles of fun, and a way to cool yourself off from the scorching heat. Last, but not least, here is the new cover of vol.2 from the novel of Ace that has Thatch and Blackbeard in it. It continues on with Ace’s story before he joined the Whitebeard pirates.
