what if! i post art to tumblr again? :o this is Hazard-13, my guardian from destiny 2, so i guess this is technically fanart? pff. anyway, @artnyarn asked me to tell her about them, so i guess i’m doing that hereeee.

there’s. a lot to talk about with destiny. but to start, Hazard-13 is an exo, which is the robot race in destiny. they were all once people who had a snapshot of their brains taken (a fatal process for the body) and uploaded into a metal chassis. the process was created by, tbh kind of a mad scientist some 600 years before game canon time, and afaik, the only exos left in the world are either those still functional since then (the process was meant to make people immortal, after all) or those raised as guardians.

guardians are the pcs of destiny. they are people (human, exo, or awoken, which is sometimes described as “neo-human”) who were raised by ghosts, the lil flying robot talking to Hazard. they’re generally shaped like this:

Hazard’s ghost is called Crowley and he’s got a little paper bat hat. the ghosts are lil machines created by the Traveler, which is a giant orb and may or may not be a god. it terraformed nearly every planet and moon in the solar system, allowing humanity to spread out and technology to advance wildly quickly.

the Traveler is currently hovering over the Last City, named so because it’s essentially where most of civilization on earth has gathered, under the Traveler’s protection. now. the Traveler uses/has/is made of (???) Light, which the ghosts use to find and raise their guardians. guardians weaponize Light to fight enemies with, basically, magic abilities (and also guns pff). the story is also moving less toward light is good and dark is bad, so guardians are now also making use of Darkness, which is neat.

anyhow, when a ghost raises a guardian to fight for the Traveler, that guardian is from then on effectively immortal, able to be revived by their ghost whenever they die. guardians end up forming very close bonds with their ghosts, and it goes both ways.

oh also! when guardians are raised, they don’t have any memories. the idea is kind of that being raised is a fresh start. tho, there are both ghosts and guardians that go rogue, so it does mean that anyone is incorruptible.

without getting too deep into that point, exos have numbers after their names to show how many times they’ve been reset. literally. there’s various reasons for resets, the main reason being that existing in a metal body is hard on the mind and exo would sometimes start to lose their minds. there are a multitude of reasons, but the first iteration of an exo is always Name-1. so Hazard has been reset 12 times before they were raised.

no one in current game canon has full access to the workings of exos (that mad scientist guy definitely died 600 years ago and took most of his work with him), so they’re pretty mysterious.

guardians are also forbidden from looking into who they used to be, based on the premise that they were raised to be given a second chance, so it no longer matters who they used to be. this is obvs frustrating, and hazard occasionally gets annoyed with how many mysteries plague their existence.

onto the magic part! Hazard is a warlock class guardian, so that means they’re abilities look more like what you would expect magic attacks to look like (mystical floating, summoning fire, that kind of thing). Hazard uses a lot of solar abilities, so that’s a lot of fire damage. those glowing gauntlets they have are called sunbracers, and they amplify their solar power.

there’s. a lot. that goes on in destiny, but Hazard themself is kind of aloof and annoyed most of the time. they like hanging out alone with Crowley, or with a few close friends. they don’t mind the chaos of the world so much, but the repeated deaths and mysteries do wear on them from time to time. and, there’s rarely a time they’ll turn down a request for help, even if they sound annoyed they whole time.

this is very long!!! tbh, it’s interesting to have a character with no actual backstory, so most of their story is the plot of the game or what they’re reactions would be.

not sure if anyone still remembers me but i thought i could just give this a go.

i haven't written something in so long haha...i use tumblr once in a while but med school has really taken a toll on me. i don't know when i'll come back to writing, it's never really about me losing interest in writing since writing is just something i love to do but it's just me not having the leisure to just sit down and write. my semester breaks really just consist of me volunteering for experience purposes. never got the chance really to catch up on any of my hobbies when all i'm doing is work, study, work, study on repeat for the past 3 years.

i will admit that i've lost interest in kpop quite a long time ago and just found other interest and going through different phases. exo however will always be my #1 but at the same time i haven't been in exo planet for a good year. don't really know what's going on there haha but hopefully all is well with the boys.

if any of you guys ever see me dropping some writing it's just a way for me to get a sense of normality in my life or easier to let at east 12% of stress out. i feel like a robot getting lost in all these research papers and charts but it's what i signed up for so i can't really complain can i..

i definitely miss those days (pre-university days) when i would write freely and interact with my readers but things change right, i definitely know that some of my old mutuals here have probably move on from writing or just not on here anymore and that's okay honestly, good to know that some of us are just growing up and pursuing other things.

it has been a good 6 years or more...don't really know when i started this blog but i remembered having another blog before moving to this one so could be a decade actually. i made a lot of good friends here and became a part of different communities which i can say have gone inactive as well but you can never forget the good times can you. truly a blessing to have this experience.

don't wanna be a sap but at some point writing on here was all i did and quite a huge hobby of mine.

What’s they’re story?

It's a post-apocalyptic story I've had going for a couple years but can't seem to write.

To try and be short about it, the story takes place on Earth. The better part of the planet is dry clay or sand, populated by your typical hardy/heat-resistant plants and animals. During the night the temp falls enough that there's snow. The land around the north and south pole are lush with greenery, trees and stuff but also ravaged by intense storms, that travel down around the globe as temps fall in the night, bringing rain. Mankind (or the ones that can afford it) have left Earth for bubble cities on Mars. Those that chose to remain, or didn't have a choice, remain in the cities not swallowed by the dunes, working underground farms.

The characters in the pic you linked are Four (the tall one), Twelve (the yellow one) and Jonathan.

Jonathan doesn't have any recollection of his past, having woken in a hospital gown just off the coast, burning under the sun. Eventually he gets found by Twelve and Four, while Twelve accepts him as their friend real quick. Four remains sour and guarded, hinting at knowing Jons past but refusing to tell. As they slowly get to know each other and bury the hatchet, Four still refuses to tell him who he was, but for other reasons.

Four is of a brand of man-made creatures, designed for fast healing and organ regeneration. From an early age his kind are used for organ harvesting. With humanity ditching Earth the project was shut down due to questionable ethics, leading to him being adopted by the personnel remaining on-site when he should have been terminated. He's now living on his own with his younger sibling, scavenging and helping out the locals to qualify for monthly food payouts. Four comes off as pretty bitter, crooked under the weight of local social structures and norms. Pretty defensive overall, very protective of his family. Twelve is Fours younger sibling, they're pretty optimistic and upbeat, childish just to offset Fours general pessimism and bitterness. Sometimes they play it up to lighten their brothers mood, but mostly they're just out there having a good time, getting spoiled by their brother (and Jon). They're pretty protective too, in a chihuahua kind of way, but they're also very creative and are getting free use of all the walls within the lighthouse that they and Four live in.

Jonathans goal is to find out who he was, while Fours is just to try to keep his family alive. Sometimes those two goals clash. There's some drama but in the end, the story is more leaning toward post-apocalyptic feelgood. Thanks for asking! I think I've got more in-depth descriptions under the tag character intro.

Today, we will talk about recent exo planet and star discoveries. A brown dwarf with the mass of approximately 70 Jupiters has been discovered with a atmospherical temperature of approximately 7700 Celsius, making it the hottest planetary object ever seen anywhere. It’s at least 2000 kelvin above the temperature of the sun and is referred to as irradiated Jupiter. Next, the longest continuous observation of a planet orbiting its star has been seen. This is because of how absurdly bright this planetary object is while being just below the size of a brown dwarf at 12 masses of Jupiter and 63 light years away. It was observed for 17 years in continuous orbit around its star

Eris opened the same argument that the astroid belt did, or more the discovery of just how many TNOs there are did.

Much like Ceres, Pallas, Juno, and Vesta before it Pluto and Eris became the prototype for Trans-Neputunian Objects. Ceres became the prototype dwarf planet.

Pluto is a Trans-Neptunian Object not a Planet because it fits better into that grouping, not because it doesn't fit with being a Planet.

FAQ:

"it's because they'd be too many, kids would start hating astronomy like they hate chemistry!": this is just a joke? it's actually because categories are useful in astronomy.

"it's because Eris would have to be a planet otherwise!": given Ceres, Pallus, Juno, and Vesta were planets before it's not like there's not historical precedent for defining planet that way.

"they should have a new term": major planet.

"i'm gonna call pluto a planet anyway you can't stop me!": I can't, but if I peer review your paper I'll reject it on that as it's a settled matter. but people who come out of the woodwork to decry that pluto is a planet are almost always responding to anybody saying it isn't.

"what about other solar systems?": we'll deal with them when we get to them. for now we have trouble finding exo-planets the size of our sun. it's unlikely we need to deal with subcategories of exoplanet for a while. if you want to figure out what to call bodies in sci-fi then that's fiction anyway, go hog wild.

"Are exo-planets planets?": no, they're exo-planets. planets is a term we use for objects orbiting the sun. this is likely to change but for the foreseeable future it's useful to clearly distinguish the two.

I don't really watch variety shows but if I have to name something I'll name shinee's hello baby, the vacation show they had and BTS' BTS run I could add bon voyage too

I like those shows because they're funny and entertaining, also I like to see ppl traveling lol

Funny thing about shinee's hello baby and BTS run are the shows that made me stan them even more

I'm a sucker for fandoms names honestly, but I love more the ones that are somehow related to the group name or have an abbreviation that somehow matches with the group name or the meaning is almost linked to their name like SHINee world for SHINee (in my mind we're still a planet and not a country in kwangya) or onces for twice, army bc BTS are the bulletproof boys (i know is adorable representative MC of youth but they really thought how the abbreviation would work) idk

『EXO PLANET #2 - The EXO'luXion IN JAPAN -』では、迫力ある様々なステージ演出の中で、EXOの魅力が全開のパフォーマンスを披露！そのひとつ、『Machine』『Drop That』のステージでは、巨大なDJブースが登場しました！見上げるほどに高いDJブースでパフォーマンスするDJチャンヨルの掛け声に合わせて、会場のボルテージも最高潮に！メンバーがステージから大きく手を振って客席のみなさんをあおると、会場のみなさんもたくさんの熱い声援やジャンプで答えてくださり、会場がひとつになって盛り上がりました！"

And finally, for a fourth consecutive year, on 11-13 October for 'EXO PLANET #5 - EXplOration - in JAPAN'!

EXO has visited Fukuoka quite a bit so there are plenty of memories to share! ^^

Starting off with 'EXO PLANET #2 - The EXO'luXion IN JAPAN -', we have quite a bit to share as it was such a powerful concert that showed off all of the members' charms! One thing that stood out was 'Machine' and 'Drop That', the latter of which utilised a giant DJ booth!

Chanyeol pumped up the energy as he rocked out high above the other members in his giant DJ booth! The members waved their hands to the beat prompting fans to follow along and get hyped with the music! It felt like the whole venue had really become one!"

"『EXO PLANET #4 - The EℓyXiOn – in JAPAN』では、福岡公演最終日がちょうどクリスマスイブということで、アンコールではトナカイやサンタクロースの帽子を被りながら『The First Snow』を披露♪"

Translation: "The final days of 'EXO PLANET #4 - The EℓyXiOn – in JAPAN' were held here, in Fukuoka. The concert happened to fall around Christmas time so the members celebrated by performing 'The First Snow' and wore raindeer antlers and Santa hats. ♪"

そして、ライブの裏側では、毎回EXOオフィシャルブック『PLANET』の様々な企画に挑戦しているメンバーたちですが、この日はクリスマスにちなんでクリスマスツリーの飾り付けにチャレンジ☆ 星型のオーナメントにはEXO-L-JAPANのみなさんから届いたメッセージが書かれていたのですが、メッセージをひとつひとつ手に取って読みながら、分からない日本語はスタッフに聞いたり、「クリスマスという大切な日に僕たちに会いに来てくれて嬉しいですね！」と話したり^^ とっても嬉しそうに飾っていました。"

Translation: "'We're all on Christmas date together!^^' The members said with bright smiles on their faces. ☆

Usually the members play a game or take up a new challenge for the Official EXO fanclub members' magazine 'PLANET', but this time was a little different. In keeping with the Christmas theme the members decided to decorate a Christmas tree!☆ The members also took their time reading the messages that EXO-L JAPAN had written on star ornaments for them. They made sure to ask the staff to help them with any Japanese they didn't know. 'We know Christmas is an important holiday and we are happy that fans were willing to come out and see us during this holiday season', the members shared, as they happily decorated the tree. ^^"

Translation: "Next we are going to share a little bit from behind-the-scenes of the challenge EXO did for 'OFFICIAL BOOK PLANET vol.5'. The members took these photos backstage for their 'EXO PLANET #3 - The EXO’rDIUM in JAPAN' concert. ^^ If you recall in our previous installments of 'Let’s relive the fond memories from EXO’s concerts!' Translation: "D.O. is quite a fan of Ochazuke and as a result was quite particular when making it (hehe). He realised if you pour the tea from high up, the tea will splash and cover more area, making the perfect Ochazuke (hehe). After their little meal D.O. said, 'I'm full!' ^^ Xiumin was quite impressed with the topping selection, he would ask, 'What is this?' and 'What does this taste like?'. After hearing the explanations from the staff, Xiumin carefully selected his toppings to create his original Ochizuke. In the end, he decided to add even more toppings. ♪ Make sure to look forward to the Hiroshima edition where we feature Suho, Lay, and Chen where they try their hands at calligraphy! ✩

Right after the concert finished up it was time to celebrate Lay's birthday which was on 7 October! Lay got a special unicorn cake backstage! "
