Like I do every year, I've made a bunch of graphs analysing my reading habits. I read 101 books/30,778 pages in 2023, much much more detail under the cut.

It's because reading's not my only hobby anymore, I also spent a lot of time writing fanfiction (77,798 words) and studying Mandarin Chinese (I'm speaking actual sentences now 😎). Plus embroidery, but I mostly do that while listening to audiobooks so it probably doesn't make a difference.

The Books

Then the 2000s had 5 and the 1980s, 1960s, 1930s and 1920s each had one. The oldest book I read was Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, from 1925, and the newest was A Power Unbound by Freya Marske, published November 7 2023. Every year I see these stats and go "So much recency bias, I should fix that! Or should I? Is it snobbery to value new books less than old ones? I like diverse books and there are obviously far more of those getting published nowadays, and engaging with books as they come out is important to authors. But am I getting caught up in the capitalism machine by focusing so much on what's shiny and new?". In the end I'll probably keep reading mostly new books but maybe aim for a bit of a wider spread, and at least something from before the 20th century.

I had only 9 five star reads this year, and 2 of those were rereads. That's by far the lowest number of five star books since I started keeping track, no wonder it felt like a bit of a bummer year. Hopefully in 2024 I'll find some more books that knock my socks off.

Since the number of five star books was so low, I can just list them here: A Restless Truth and A Power Unbound by Freya Marske (historical fantasy/mystery/queer romance), Warrior Girl Unearthed by Angeline Boulley (YA contemporary thriller about the repatriation of stolen indigenous artefacts), Into the Riverlands by Nghi Vo (from a series of cosy fantasy novellas about the power of stories), Burning Roses by S.L. Huang (fantasy novella about Red Riding Hood and Hou Yi the archer from Chinese mythology as middle-aged sapphics with a lot of regrets), Vagina Obscura: An Anatomical Voyage by Rachel E. Gross (nonfiction dive into the medical and cultural history surrounding the vagina, clitoris and ovaries, the title sounds like it could be some t*rf shit but it's not, there's a whole chapter about the development of vaginoplasty surgery) and He Who Drowned the World by Shelley Parker-Chan (historical fantasy about fucked up, terrible, deeply compelling queer people fighting for the throne in medieval China).

This one is new this year: a pie chart showing the books' status in a series. 53 were standalones, 13 were series starters, 34 were sequels and 1 was an omnibus.

The Authors

It's followed by the UK and Ireland (19), Australia (10), China (5), Canada (4), Singapore (3), France (2) and Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Germany and the Dominican Republic with 1 each. Next year I'd like to read more Australian books, since I am Australian - my own country should be at least in second place.

The Characters

I don't have synesthesia, I don't actually see colors when I hear certain numbers, but I do associate colors with numbers in my head. When I see "57" written on a page, all I see is the black text of the number 5 and the number 7, but in my head it seems like a lime green color with a yellow aura. The number 5 by itself seems green to me, dark green, and 7 is yellow, so putting them next to each other blends them together. I associate the number 57 with the packaging of lemon-lima soda, and I have no idea why.

Each digit to me has a distinct color, and the different combinations shine through in different ways.

Neutral; it doesn't have a color of it's own, it just takes on the color of the numbers next to it. I guess by itself it appears black.

Pinkish red, somewhere between magenta and red (approximately 255,0,128)

Blue, but not dark blue. Not light blue either; not sky blue, not cyan, just a nice standard deep blue

Light purple, perhaps mauve or heliotrope

Green

Orange

Yellow

Dark blue

Very dark purple, more blue than red, almost black

0 is like 1, it doesn't shine through at all. It has no color, not even black, just clear, invisible, nothing.

I tend to group numbers into pairs, with the leading digit taking charge. The 20s are all pink-red, but if I imagine each number individually they present themselves differently. 20 and 21 are standard pink-red, but 22 is very bright red because of the double twos. 23 is a pink-red 2 next to a blue 3, but 24 is a purplish-pink as if the 2 and 4 blended together. 25 is red and green like Christmas. 26 is a salmony orangish-pink. 27 is a bright artifical red like cherry flavored candy but the 7 stands out as a yellow highlight (27 reminds me of ketchup and mustard for some reason, no idea why). 28 and 29 are like 23, each digit standing alone without blending together. I don't know why some colors blend and others don't; there seems to be no rhyme or reason as far as I can figure.

For 3 digit numbers, the leading digit takes precedence, so numbers in the 300s are all blue, but the second digit can sometimes shine through. 367 is a teal 3, a ruddy orange 6, and a mustardy brown 7. 305 is blue with a green tail. 399 is dark dark dark blue. 311 is regular blue with a black tail.

For 4 digit numbers, the leading digit again tends to take over, except for 1000 to 1999, in which case the second digit is the strongest. I imagine years as being colored by the century; the 1700s are yellow like old parchment, the 1500s are a brownish green like dense foliage on a jungle floor, the 1900s are dark dark purple, etc. Within each century, some decades shine through better than others; the 1860s are dark blue and orange, the 1770s are muted mustardy yellow, the 1970s are purple and electric yellow, the 1950s are just purple with no green at all, the 1920s are purple and pink, the 1490s are light purple with a dark purple tail, the 2000s and 2010s are pure red-pink because the leading 2 takes precedence over the 0s and 1s, but the 2020s are very loud cherry/fire engine/flaming cheetos red (especially 2022).

5 digit numbers and on are nothing to me. They're just strings of digits, plain black text, nothing shines through. MAYBE the leading digit gives the string a weak glow, but I don't picture it broken down into pairs like I do for smaller numbers.

Pi is blue, slightly darker than 3 by itself but not quite as dark as 8. 3.14 is a gradient from blue to purple. 3.1415 is the same gradient with a green tail. 3.1459 has no green in it at all, it's just a gradient from blue to dark purple. 3.14159265358979323... is just dark blue. After a point, the digits stop influencing each other and the leading 3 is all I see.

Euler's number e is red, with the same ketchup and mustard association as 27.

The golden ratio phi is not golden to me at all; if I imagine the formula for it (one plus the square root of five, all over two), that's a dull brown, like the green of the 5 and the red of the 2 mixed together, but if I imagine the decimal expansion then it's orange because the 6 in 1.618... shines through brighter than the reat.

Give me a number between 0 and 9999, and I'll describe how it seems to me.

For those particularly daring or wanting to try something wild, our ‘Drink & Kink’ challenge is the game to play. In this game the bartender will make you a mystery shot to drink. However the mystery of the liquor inside the drink is not the focus of this game. It is the drug that spikes the drink.

Every D&K shot is spiked with a mystery drug that when consumed with the drink, will create a temporary kinky change to the drinker. These changes will be emotional or perception based and are only temporary, effects usually lasting from a few minutes up to an hour. Once they fade away there is no lingering side effect or harm to the drinker.

Once you have been served your shot you will take the drink and do a /random roll. Once you have your random roll number you will then proceed to the page linked below to reveal what effect your PYP shot drug gives. I suggest eating fat burning items or low fat items and also low calorie items too so you can eat a bunch of them and not have to worry like fruits and veggies! This was just my foods list also the calories depend on the brand except for natural items so i didn’t include them. I usually try to stay under 300 calories when i’m not fasting. I also suggest eating more than i do and allowing more items i’m just strict on myself. 🍇

🏋️𝙒𝙊𝙍𝙆𝙊𝙐𝙏𝙎 💪

This is my personal but i like to have a total net of -1000 or -900 calories (because i’m so young this doesn’t even burn but 3-4 pounds a week), i suggest more like 300 a day net 😅

What i like to do to burn those calories are:

✨ My 500 calorie workout- You can find this in one of my 30 day thinspo challenges.

✨Take cold baths- For my average time i’m in the bath I burn around 399 calories check out one of my older posts on how many calories you burn when in the cold bath for a certain time.

~Also I exchange for every night (because i lovveeeeee hot baths) so i take a hot bath one night but i do 2 rounds of my 500 calorie workout and then if it’s a cold bath night i do one 500 workout and a cold bath to burn 399 calories, also that’s on fasting days. On my restrictive days i burn 300 (look up ways there’s a bunch) and then a cold bath and one workout or two workouts and a hot bath.

Days with none or lack of food can feel extremely lonnnggggggggg or can be extremely boring, here are something’s i do when i’m hungry, craving, or bored and trying not to eat~

“What about my hair falling out?”

👒 If your hair is falling out i would suggest to look up ways to keep thinning hair in good condition and also buy hair strengthening products if possible. 👒

“I can’t do this!”

💞 DO NOT i repeat DO NOT DO THIS IS YOU DO NOT WANT TO! but if you want to but believe you can’t, just remember to stay strong and you got this!!! 💞

“Is it bad that i’m so cold always?”

🧤I mean it’s going to happen, it’s a symptom of not eating and also a symptom of being thin so it’s gonna happen. I suggest just putting on a jacket or a few layers of clothes on your cold area🧤

“How do i dodge meal time?”

🍽 Dodging mealtime is the worst struggle for me like ever! I just can’t do it! I also feel awful wasting food but if it comes to being thin, there’s no choice. I usually say i’m going to the bathroom and start up a conversation before and continue talking about it while leaving so they don’t notice i’m taking my plate to the bathroom and i just put it in my hiding place in my room (that’s right next to the bathroom) and if your room isn’t close to the bathroom then find a hiding place in the bathroom wether it’s putting a container under the towels or in a shelve i’ll find a place but then take a little longer and if they ask what took so long say you were fixing your hair (if you say this do it but fast) or you were trying to clean under your nails with soap, if they notice less food say you got hungry while fixing your hair (i recommend the hair one)🍽

“Why isn’t the ABC diet/Rainbow diet/other diets not working for me but others do?”

👎🏼This is because either you didn’t count cals correctly or because you didn’t workout enough but a lot of the time these are just not not for some people like a lot of diets aren’t enough for my preferred daily weight loss or are too high calorie for me to lose anything. 👎🏼

“How do i answer questions or comments my friends and family make?”

“Have you lost weight?”

-I suggest answering like “Not that i know of” or maybe “I’ve been sick” but for that one make sure your parents know you have recently so if one of them are asked by the family member who asked they say you were or lastly “I don’t think so, but i just started putting more effort into [sport you play or are practicing] recently so maybe but if any just a little.”-

“Are you okay? I’ve noticed you’ve lost weight?”

-I would say “Oh i’m totally great! I don’t think i’ve lost weight?”-

“You look great! Have you lost weight?”

-I would reply with “Oh thank you! Maybe a little, I’ve been eating healthier lately so maybe that made my skin clearer and me a little slimmer that’s all.” and the always “Not that i know of but thank you so much! May be it’s my new [clothing item], I think it flatters me!”-

“Are you sick?”

-I would say “No, I wouldn’t be at this gathering would i?” say it in a laughing tone not rude.-

“Jeez you’re a stick”/“Oh my god you’re so skinny!”

-I think you could just roll your eyes at “Jeez you’re a stick” and say “What?” at the second one.-

“Do you have an Eating Disorder?”

-This is very risky! I would only make an excuse if you are just not ready to get help yet. Please receive help if you can! but my excuse would be “What’s that, never heard of it?” and if they explain just say “Wow thats really weird i wonder why people would act like that?!”-

“Eat.”

-Classic “I already ate.”, “No thanks maybe in a bit!” and lastly “I had a big [meal before].”-

🦷 𝙃𝙔𝙂𝙀𝙉𝙀 🧼

Here are some eating disorder hygiene issues that and i will provide ways to prevent or deal with these.

•Lack of bodily functions (urination and excretion/defecation) ✨:YES I KNOW DISGUSTANG!!! as you should know under eating and drinking (which sometimes people under drink during eating disorders?) will have the effect of lack of these practices. i don’t think there are any healthy ways to prevent this if you are restricting and i DO NOT promote laxatives they can kill you! although i would deal with this simply by just not caring and maybe eating fruit which can help lol sorry i understand this is disgusting.

•Dental Hygiene ✨: as some people know the act of purging is common which can effect your dental hygiene and can even rot your teeth. i do not promote purging (or any other disordered eating acts BUT ESPECIALLY NOT PURGING!)! it is going to hurt you physically and mentally so if anything maximum restrict. but as we know you can’t just fix it by saying that so here are some tips to prevent teeth rot from purging~ {1. Don’t brush your teeth right after! this dissolves the enamel even more! 2. •Body Hair ✨: I understand this is also gross too but people who don’t care enough i want you to at least have good hygiene so if you starve enough to get lanugo (excess hair growth caused by cold temperatures due to starvation). You can keep these hairs or remove them i would advise to shave so you can appear nice but if you don’t care and would like to stay warm keep the hair!

This is something i find very sad because it’s very exclusive. so many POC are struggling with this evil illness are rarely seen in thinspo and if so they usually aren’t just modeling by themselves but with another pale person. I suggest that if you have a certain amazing attributes to you and your body look for thin people that are like you, and also the lack of curly hair in the industry is disappointing as well. I’d also just like to say most models are white, with blonde or brown hair and blue eyes but that literally is so exclusive so please just somebody find a diverse page. Guide Leveling Crafting by Work Orders

A legionmate dug this up and shared on Discord, so I’m reposting here from the archived page just in case. Originally shared by Rockeh in the AionSource forums:

This is a list of the requirements for all of the work orders for the crafting range as well as their costs. To follow this guide, start work orders 5 skill points after they are offered. For example, start the lvl 10 work order when you get to skill lvl 15, start the lvl 20 work order when you get to skill lvl 25, start the 30 work order when you get to skill lvl 35, etc. NOTES

This also takes into account failures, which may or may not be the same for you, this is just a guide.

Costs may also change depending on taxes and such on the server.

If you buy all of the items ahead of time, you will end up with extra items. This is due to the fact that you will be rewarded some materials for completing the work orders.

This is written for Elyos. Some professions (cooking) have different ingredients for part of the work orders.
