Okay the thing about space marines is like. they are huge mammals, practically bear sized, active primates. On top of the normal caloric needs for a large animal to be active and fast for so long, their bodies are constantly bioactive- they produce corrosive salive, they're conatantly healing from horrible wounds- those proteins are expensive and that mass has to come from somewhere. And don't fucking "oh genetic engineering they're so perfect" me, you can only be SO bioeffecient, these are still modified humans, presumably you're not recreating their biomolecular structure.
They have to eat a TON right? They probably have the caloric and vitamin demands of a pregnant tiger, and there's hundreds of them on these ships. Are there spaceship cows tgey're slaughtering? Do they just guzzle gallons of reconstituted protein paste?
And I think this caloric need, if emphasized, only helps accentuate the fact that a Space Marine is only as good as his supplies, as the labor done by the citizen-slaves of the Imperium- whether their work is tithed to loyalists or raided by traitors. And the inequality is the point, the irony that these superhuman gods NEED the work of hundreds of human laborers to survive- that's so important! That's the evil of the imperium, the hypocracy of power!
Space Marines should be ravenous little fuckers. Show them eating more.
This applies to warhammer as well (and I have been kind of guilty of it too).
There is this reverence for people who have been in the hobby for a long time that is just undeserved. So many of these guys act like they are loremasters just because they have read the same twelve memes over and over again for twenty years.
Im here for the lore, I looooove the stories. And I much rather talk to a noob who has the spirit and passion about 40k than the old bitter dude with nothing interesting to say.
So if you feel like you are a noob and dont really inow much, that is ok. The journey is so much more exciting then getting stuck in the mud and refusing to move :D
Tell me about something you recently found out about 40k, it doesnt matter if its new, just that it was new to you.
Also including an AU where Lilith pursued the priesthood. The brilliant brainchild of tech priests employing cats to keep rats away from the cables belongs to @darka-art & @holylustration respectively.
Tŕansonic blades vibrate at the same frequensy of armor, allowing them to pass through it

Are the rule writers stupid?
I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times more; The tabletop game is an approximation of setting lore and function through the lens of mechanical balancing and miniature production. It should not be used to gauge the interactions of... basically anything in the setting.
As an aside, this is why if you ever see anyone approach lore by going "But on the TABLETOP-" you are legally allowed to hit them with one of those inflatable mallets.
The Konrad Curze flashbacks in the Night Lord series are so funny, Curze is just sitting there sobbing into his hands going "I hate all of you so much" and Talos is just standing there making a 🥺 face thinking "You Are My Dad"
The thing I love the most about Perturabo is that he doesn't really hold grudges, despite his temper, his grumpy demeanour and all that, he is waaay to forgiving.
He didnt keep a grudge for his foster brother Andos when Andos beat him in the art competition(despite in his rage destroying the artwork, and his relationship with his brother). And not only that, he openly admitted to other people that Andos was better than him, at art, and as a human and was surprised and disappointed that Andos wasn't named Tyrant after their father's death.
Perturabo forgave Fulgrim for lying to him and almost killing him and stealing his soul. He forgave him enough to fight beside him at Terra. He wasnt happy about it, but he didnt make a fuss.
He has been forgiving Abaddon time and time again and has helped the war effort of the long war
Perturabos reputation as unforgiving and cold is undeserved. Just let the guy mope for 15 minutes and he will bounce back.
I do wonder if he even truly hates Dorn or if he just wants to challenge himself enough to beat him and is too uncharismatic to express himself.
