[He is too young for Ned during the books at the start of the series at 32 but is around the right age for Ned in season 4 at 36/37. He has a long face, long brown hair and has a somewhat closely trimmed beard. His hair from season 1 is more accurate to Ned though. He unfortunately has light eyes of the wrong colour. He wears Norse ish clothes.]

[He is a couple years too old for book Ned at 37/38 but I think he’s still okay because Ned is said to look older with the grey in his beard. He has long hair but it’s more grey than brown and his eyes are light blue. He does face a long face with a brown and grey beard. He has a wife that looks like Catelyn but is too young for book Catelyn but has a daughter perfect for Arya.He wears 14th century clothes.]

stark family fancast / ned stark edition

1.) Charlie Vickers in his role as ‘Halbrand’ in the show, Rings of Power. Even though Sean Bean’s age wasn’t accurate to Ned, i can’t help but compare and i feel like Charlie IS his younger Ned

2.) Alexander Dreymon in his role of Uhtred in the Last Kingdom.

What i love about this fancast besides my usual spiel of matching the character description is that in the first season, Uhtred marries a beautiful redhead for duty’s sake and has a son with her, sound familiar?

3.) Orlando Bloom in his role as Balian in the film, Kingdom of Heaven. He has northern features and I think he really portrays the feeling of a 19 year old Ned fresh off having lost his father and brother and essentially his sister and now he’s going off to war . and Orlando and Kit look so similar especially when they’re brooding.

4.) Viggo Mortenson in his role as Aragon in LOTR would fit great for an older ned at the start of the book series or even during the greyjoy rebellion

5.) François Arnaud in his role of Cesare in the show, The Borgias. He has the stark look and hey, jon had to get his broodiness and great hair from somewhere

6.) Aiden Turner is his role as Ross Aiden in the show, Poldark is one of my favorites for Ned because his co star in the show, Eleanor Tomlinson playing Demelza is a great fancast for my fave, Catelyn

Seriously this will make the wait for Season 8 Game of Thrones more bearable.... I’m so so happy. I love the series since the beginning and season 2 was even better than season 1. In a way, it’s similar to Thrones but more rooted in real History during the time of Alfred the Great. Give this a try while you wait for GOT. I think you might actually like it.

Of course love! I’m assuming by Brandon you mean Rickon’s son, so as they are brothers I could pretty much suggest the same faceclaims for them, as they are supposedly looking like each other. I could suggest Alexander Dreymon, Eoin Macken, Orlando Bloom, Ben Barnes, Chris Hemsworth, Sam Claflin or Gaspard Ulliel.

It has been wonderful for me thus far!! I hope it has been for you too! Now, important question, why did you decide to write Brandon?

It has been fantastic! I got very good news about something that had been worrying me a lot, so I got my Christmas wish early! 

As for why I write Brandon…well, I’ve always been drawn to minor characters, the ones with just a few character traits and a bit of history to work with, something for me to build on but also not be too restricted by. I always ADORED the Starks and loved the parts of asoiaf where we got glimpses into Ned’s young life with his brothers and sisters - but why muse came for Brandon more than Ned or Lyanna or Benjen I’m not really sure? Partially that I started watching the Last Kingdom and Alexander Dreymon struck me as the perfect Brandon. 

And I’m generally too insecure as a writer to write very popular characters so. There’s that too. 

But more than anything Brandon struck me as a fun muse to have, being impulsive and charming and a bit of a shit. Plus he’s incredibly different from any other muse I’ve written,  and very, very different from me, and I like that challenge a lot. 

I feel like I rambled, but? That’s the best answer I have. Thank you for asking Santa, and I hope you’re having a great day! Only 3 weeks until Christmas!!
