My back story. Isolation, closed family culture & Ableism
Written by Ashton Deroy Tonight I learned one of my Autistic Peers from Public school thought I hated them. Maybe I was a bit of a bully. For that I made amends. I was sure to tell them that wasn’t true I could never hate them. DON’T BE A BULLY LIKE I WAS! I explained my ADHD and how I grew up to them. This needs to be said. If you have an autistic child? DO NOT isolate them from their peers.…

An event for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was cut short in Belleville, Ont., today after nearly 100 protesters surrounded him and his motorcade.
Trudeau was in the city to mark the seventh anniversary of the Liberal government's Child Care Benefit, to meet with the mayor and to visit a farmers' market.
Protesters showed up at the market outside city hall as Trudeau met with a crowd of community members and took selfies.
Trudeau was set to meet with about 10 vendors but he couldn't make his way to the other side of the public square after being swarmed by the protesters.
Some of them were holding Trump flags, while others were screaming expletives about the government and the media. [...]

“Belleville Man Says Sailor Was Murdered,” Kingston Whig-Standard. February 16, 1933. Page 14.  ---- W. E. Schuster Gives Attorney-General Information on Russian Incident ---- TORONTO, Feb. 10 — Suggestion that William John Stephenson, British merchantman engineer, who was shot to death by a Leningrad sentry in August 1931 for alleged refusal to halt when challenged, had been watched and "marked” for death by the Russian police for a long while prior to the killing, is embodied in a letter which Attorney-General Price has received from W. E. Schuster of Belleville.
Stephenson's killing, which at the time was aired extensively to the British House of Commons and caused the Soviet sentry who did the shooting to be placed on trial by the Russian authorities— a hearing which lasted but four hours and ended to hi acquittal— has been quietly looked into by Mr. Schuster since then. and his present knowledge of the affair, as contained in his communication reads as follows:
"I am personally acquainted with several friends of the murdered British sailor and their story 1 that Stephenson ' was desperately opposed to everything Russian, regarding the operation of the USSR as dangerous to the world at large. He was an intelligent Englishman and by reason of his opinions, freely expressed, detrimental to Russia, he was marked by the Russia police and when he obtained shore leave from his ship the S. S. Kingswood, he was watched and shot down in the streets of Leningrad. The story of Stephenson approaching the military depot was all fixed up according to his friends’ version. Twenty-five years ago, the British Government would have mobilised army and navy against this murder, but no one blames them for not doing so today humiliating as it may be for British subjects to have to tolerate such treatment of our own countrymen." Disregarded Sentry Claim Stephenson was 59 years of age, lived in South Shields, and had a wife and two children. He was chief engineer of the S. S. Kingswood. The official version cf the shooting as published by the Moscow authorities, upon intervention of the British consular authorities, was to the effect that the Englishman walked straight toward the sentry, disregarding his whistle gestures and spoken warning. The sentry then struck Stephenson twice with his rifle butt, knocking him off the pavement.
Another "red" witness at the trial of the sentry said that Stephenson then moved towards the sentry who retired and fired point-blank after the engineer had grasped the rifle- barrel with one hand.
This is the story that according to friends of Mr. Schuster at Belleville was “all fixed up.” In the light of his communication, it is anticipated that Queen's Park will pass on the information as supplied to the office of the Canadian High Commissioner in London England.
Mr. Schuster is well known to Kingston and he has been prominent In advancing a proposal to barter Canadian farm products for British coal.

It’s always funny to learn that a band is Canadian like, I just now learned that Tokyo Police Club (‘Your English is Good’) are from Newmarket, Silverstein are from Burlington and of course Sum 41 are from Ajax
there’s something in the water in the greater Toronto area that sprouts pop punk bands I guess :O

Roller Blinds
Looking for classic window treatments in Toronto? Roller blinds might be perfect for you. This type of blind is crafted from a single piece of fabric that wraps around a special casing, or headrail, and into the top of the window’s frame. These blinds are known for their versatility and are a great option for all windows because they can be adjusted to fit into any space. For large bay windows, individual roller shades can be placed within each frame.
