Was recently rewatching The Lion King and thought of a Legends Arceus AU where Volo successfully kills the player early on and the player’s Pokémon eventually have to take their place in saving Hisui. Since I don’t have the heart to actually kill Akari, I made a this short and sweet comic instead, featuring Professor Laventon being the best dad in Pokémon!

Hey, what do you think of dad Ingo? Like the au's where Ingo adopt Akari as his daughter

Thanks for asking!! I think I’ve mentioned my thoughts on this before, but I don’t personally vibe with it. Ingo doesn’t strike me as a dad (watch lore come out at some point saying he was before he was pulled to Hisui LOL) and so I don’t personally see him falling into acting like one for Akari.

I will say that this is probably because I jumped right out of the self-destructing TLOU fandom into PLA when it came out. I was really into TLOU for Joel and Ellie’s relationship. Joel very much was a dad to Ellie. And so probably jumping right into PLA and taking that relationship I liked so much and applying it to Ingo and Akari for catharsis, some things changed. Because I did see Akari like Ellie (and I did write her more like Ellie initially, it’s more obvious in the first chapters of HFBE). But I did not see Ingo like Joel. Everything that made Joel a dad felt like it wasn’t in Ingo’s character at the time, so I did not see him as a dad, and I suppose first impressions stuck lol because I still don’t.

But I do like the thought of a connection between them which is why I like calling him a pseudo-uncle. Less involved than a dad, partly because I like to characterize Akari as pretty independent. I don’t think of her as ever looking for or needing a dad-figure in Hisui, so Ingo just never takes that position.

BUT I do like seeing other people’s renditions of Ingo being a dad!! They’re so cute!! AND I am also very appreciative of the people who say they make act Ingo like a very big brother to her too.

Rolling around a modern au where Ingo never got yeeted to Hisui and Akari still isn't dawn, but she does look an incredible amount like her. Akari works at gear station with the twins and bc she looks like dawn people often mistake her for the Sinnoh champ. Akari is the youngest of the gear station crew so everyone is constantly looking out for "the baby" (affectionate) Making sure the baby has her lunch, making sure the baby has all her hygiene needs, keeping the baby safe from people who want dawn's autograph or a battle. Akari left her family at the first chance, so the support of the gear station crew means everything to her. Maybe someone, a leftover from team galactic or team plasma, mistakes her for Dawn and thinks they'll get revenge on her and abduct her. Except they made a mistake, because they took gear station's baby and there will be hell to pay.

Oh boy, will I ever. :)

So after @fourphoenixfeathers made her Precure AU, that got my own gears turning because of course. I love Precure. It's my jam. I had to make a magical girl AU of my own clearly! But I decided to go for a different route. Instead of Ingo and Emmet being magical boys, I decided to go a slightly more traditional route and have Akari be the magical girl of choice. She has to fight against the frenzied Nobles of Hisui, except:

she has to fight against all of them. they all frenzy.

She's not a time traveler. She's actually native to that time period and is an orphan who works for the survey corps under the guidance of Professor Laventon.

Real dad Laventon hours!!

She transforms using the ArcPhone.

She has a team that consists of Sylveon, Finneon, Blissey, Lilligant, Togekiss, and Gardevoir... but has one extra Pokemon beside that. It's not native to Hisui.

It's a Floette. That can talk. He's her fairy partner! He's verrry helpful.

The Floette is Emmet.

Arceus voice: So you want to see your brother again, and you'll do anything for that?

Emmet: Yes. Wait. Why are you looking at me like that.

Arceus: WOE. FAIRY BLOB BE UPON YE.
