Sebastian: How do I deal with my enemies?
Darquesse: Kill them.
Sebastian: That's a bit extreme, I was hoping for a more passive solution.
Darquesse: Kill them only a little?

To think that Val gave him skull cufflinks for Christmas out of all things makes me giddy.

Most of the time I forget how absurdly cursed Skulduggery Pleasant really is and then I see a reblog reminding me how Darquesse gave birth to herself and I remember. That really happened, huh.

not so much a redraw but a complete rework of/inspired from this old art, since it got a small burst of notes. and also i wanted to mess around with stupid colours

Okay, just cause I love hearing the responses, another question. Which villain from the series do you find the scariest? Not your favourite villain, or the one who does the worst thing, but the villain who just terrifies you the most. Is it a threat they made? An atrocity they committed? Is it the very idea of them? Or something else entirely? Really interested to hear the responses!

Okay but the best timeline - Darquesse managed to fool people into believing she was Valkyrie for a little bit longer and decided to Be Good For Good. Shenanigans happen and?? She's a god, she can make a body.
And so Val, Darquesse and Stephanie all get to exist, no one has to die and they can just be triplets and it's all great. Melissa and Desmond are confused but eventually warm up to "okay, we have two extra daughters now" and Gordon isn't erased and ----
Don't mind me I was just thinking of ways Stephanie could have survived because I reread LSoDM and Dying of the Light and I'm back on my Reflection Bullshit

Sometimes I will be having a normal day and then I will suddenly laugh as I remember that Darquesse hit Mevolent with a whole ass horse after he tried to kill her, and then just go back to my normal day.

I’m reading this book painfully slow, but at least it gives me the opportunity to appreciate lines like these.

Do you have any guess for why Melancholia's eyes were glowing red in Death Bringer but turned fucking black on Devastation Day? Because your guess is as good as mine, Lardo never gives any indication of what the hell the difference was, it's also weird because Mevolent's, Darquesse's and Argeddion's eyes etc never seem to glow, Necromancers have a monopoly on scary eyes apparently
Are they described as glowing red in Death Bringer and as black on Devastation Day? Or is that a reference to the official art?
In the official art Melancholia always has dark eyes with the exemption of one pic (I think the red eyed pic is the back-art for one of the earlier editions of DB but I'm not sure).
And Darquesse's eyes do glow blue on the white DotL cover.
Not sure if her eyes ever glowed in the actual books tho. Personally I only recall Valkyries eyes glowing white when she uses her lightning powers.
