HideDuo HCs bc we are going through it
The March drought is getting to me y'all. I don't know about all y'all but the anniversary isn't the best thing ever, especially with the Hatsune Miku incident.
I think we deserve a little treat for being dedicated to our favorite roommates. Hence these ramblings.
The following applies to the OSMP characters, not actual streamers themselves. This is gonna be very all over the place, overall cursed, and is projecting. I hope yall enjoy-
Fit:
Can play any sport, but hates all of them (except for ice skating, he fucking loves it but he'll never admit it and he can't skate for shit)
Has read fanfiction before
Knows about dreamsmp lore but doesn't know what it all means in context, very much "Did you know a guy fucked a salmon and had a fox as a child?" "He started a country later? The fish fucker???"
Is into more fru fru coffee drinks than he lets on. Like- fuck yea 9/10 times that mother fucker be drinking that shit black, but he loves some good pumpkin spice- tooty fruity-cuchie deluci frappuccino. He'd only give in around sunny tho.
Was a smoker for a hot minute, quit tho when the ashes nearly lit a TNT. Hasn't picked it up since
Is a slut for pig step
Has read The Art of War
Had a celebrity crush on Philza. He still has it but it's defo diminished since he knows him personally.
Showers daily. I don't care that he's a war-torn mf, that man loves taking showers and will never pass up the opportunity to get one.
Has a poster of Miku Binder Jefferson. Someone gave it to him as a secret Santa present and he has no idea who or what to do with it. He's tempted to burn it but he's kind of afraid of it. It's so cursed that it shows up in his nightmares.
He thinks about Forever a lot more than he wants to admit. He's afraid of the possibility of turning into a monster since he was exposed to the black concert a lot. He understands the fear is irrational since it was long ago but the intrusive thought lingers.
He's thought about marriage in general and with Pac. He'd never admit it but he planned out everything from the venue to the music to the vows. He'd easily swipe it all away if Pac said he had an idea of what he wanted it to be like.
is fluent in Morse code
Knows sign language
Hearing aids mf
Has a family somewhere out there, one that he lost or left only to be dumped into TB2T
Loves crosswords, especially during breakfast and right after Ramon goes to bed.
His favorite smell is cinnamon and cocoa butter
Believes in Herobrine
Can't do long division to save his life
Hates the sound of Velcro
Pac:
Likes the Pacman TV show
Smells like cinnamon and cocoa butter
Has too many scars from the cats he's owned over the years.
Married Mike for tax reasons in the past. They play it up that they're bitter divorcés from time to time
Doesn't shower as often as he should, not because he hates it but because he has a long routine and enjoys baths far more
Enjoys tea and coffee equally
Was a homestuck fan (yesIFUCKINGDIDTHATTOHIMWHATAREYAGONNADO???)
Gay awakening was Rufio from Hook
watches Reading Rainbow as an adult
paints on his prosthetic all the damn time
Has a Post-it note collection. He barely uses them but he has a rainbow of them and each color represents a member of the island.
Has a sticker collection
Always carries small snacks for his pocket dude (I heard about this through the wiki, apparently Pac has a pocket boy? If not then he does now lmao) mostly gummy bears and crackers
Is afraid of the ocean. Idk why that just sounds right for him and if it is it recontextualizes the date he had w fit lol
knows Morse code
Knows some phrases in American sign language (fit is teaching him / is learning for fit, whichever is cuter)
Has hacked into a government-locked server, left lobster porn in place of any files he took. Idk which government it was or why he did it, but he did and they haven't recovered since
Is the type to listen to Jon Bellion and Talor Swift. No, i will not elaborate
Has very vivid daydreams. Aside from drugs and PTSD, he has some really nice ones all on his own. Mostly about Fit tbh.

For people who are trying to get into writing fics of the quality and length of the tacomlu, do you have any tips?
Oh dear.
Okay I'm going to be totally honest. The TACOMLU was not supposed to be as long and convoluted as it is now. Originally it was going to be a trilogy- one story in each of the major SMP's. That very obviously changed, and for a few reasons.
I think what's most important outside of the writing aspect, is to have someone just as coco bananas about the source material as you. Without @chambers003 ,I never would've done all this. The story would've stopped at OLS. But they gave me so many ideas, and opened up all sorts of possibilities. So get yourself a friend who'll hype you up.
For actual writing though, my biggest problem has always been a lack of source material. There were a lot of droughts between streams on the DreamSMP that made writing it difficult. That's how the In The Heights arc happened! It's one of my favorite arcs!
So don't be afraid to get creative, snd pull inspiration from random places. Irl experiences, TV shows, books, something you heard from a friend, anything really.
Don't be afraid of big words, simple words, or flowery words either.
Writing is a learn as you go type deal. My writing from OLS is WAY different to LAYLOM, and I have to remind myself that's a good thing.
Oh! Read actual books! I know a lot of fic authors who read only fic. Believe it or not, I'm actually not a big fic reader myself. I've only read maybe 4 fics? (Passerine, DATD, ATUS, and The Hermit Archives. I'll read dramaturgy eventually). But read ACTUAL books! Graphic novels! Books for 2nd graders! Textbooks! To write, you gotta read.
Also, don't focus on the numbers if you're posting somewhere. I focus way too hard on comments, and get in my own head a lot. Just because not a lot of people comment after you've just had days worth of comments doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. But also it's okay to feel bummed out about it! Just don't let being bummed out define you.
That's all I got homie :] I wish you the best of luck with whatever you're writing! Sorry I'm not too good at advice, Chambers is my logistics guy o7 - Patton

I think, part of the reason I’m quite ecstatic about the Hermitcraft & Empires crossover (The Great Crossover Event) is that...
It was planned and followed through.
Also this ramble got long so there is a readmore LOL ( ̄ ‘i ̄;)
And this little ramble here isn’t a slight against any creator at all, but I first got re-involved with MCYT content with the DreamSMP. I think that using Minecraft as a medium for storytelling is super unique and underrated; there’s a bit of a juvenile energy to it as it’s a kids game, but also as a game with infinite possibilities and worlds it really has no bounds.
What DSMP did in 2020-2021 was amazing. I think that they had such great potential with storytelling and used it without even realizing what they were doing, especially in the early days. One of the reasons I fell out of it (as I’m sure everyone has) is that, for the most part, they aren’t really that organized as they maybe used to be.
And I get it. Life happens, and you lose inspiration for stories, and with COVID-19 NOT ENDING BUT EVERYONE THINKING IT IS OVER ENOUGH TO MOVE ONTO OTHER VENTURES, I’ve been there before. Well, maybe not the last part. I still wear mask everywhere I go.
I can’t help but say that the disappointment of ccs losing interest in the DSMP storyline doesn’t hurt in a way. Call me parasocial for it all you want; but if your favorite book series or movie trilogy never had that final movie come out, or your favorite TV show never had that last season to tie up all the loose ends, you’d be dissapointed too, right? Again, this isn’t a slight against the individual ccs, just at circumstances around it.
But in come Hermitcraft and Empires; Hermitcraft was a series on my radar for years but I’ve always been intimidated by the long episode counts (except for season 8 now lmao) to ever get invested into it, but when Empires S1 came out i was hooked. People using Minecraft to tell stories! And it’s good!!!!
There’s a sort of similar energy from early Empires episodes to early DSMP lore; none of it feels completely planned out. I can’t speak for creators of course, but it feels like both SMPs didn’t intend to get as story-based or lore-heavy as they ended up getting, but they got, eh, lost in ze sauce, as one of my friends would say. They embraced it, and it just so happened that Empires, because it was strictly MINECRAFT creators and not a mix of different types of streamers who also play Minecraft, it was able to keep that storyline to the end. And with Hermitcraft, while some people joke it’s got lore-phobic people on the server who just wanna play minecraft, after the ending of Season 8? Yeah, right, buddy.
When there started to be little pieces & foreshadowing in episodes, I got really excited, but kept my expectations low. Maybe as a response to DSMP CCs, maybe as a I get too overexcited over little things and I don’t wanna over-hype myself, if it doesn’t happen I’ll just make fanfic for it lmao type of thought.
But they didn’t!
They actually went through with it! It’ll be a little mini-arc! They’d been planning it for more than four months, according to fWhip’s video. It’s one of the biggest crossover events in Minecraft history, and it is so cool to see these (grown-ass adults /affectionate) MCYT creators invest so heavily into storylines and “roleplay”. I think for a lot of popular storytellers, like directors or writers of different shows/movies/novels/etc, have become dissatisfied with how late capitalistic society has made “storytelling” synonymous with the dreaded word “content”; its so rare to find a unique work out there nowadays that isn’t just a remake of something else or relies on “meta” storytelling to be funny and original that it just oversells itself and becomes dull in the process (ahem Velma ahem).
But as silly as it is, these MCYTs are putting their all into roleplaying as lil’ block people in a fantasy world. Even less roleplay-heavy creators are finding their places in the storytelling, and idk I can’t help but be appreciative and awed at the fact that they planned something and it actually went through for once.

Things I could probably talk about for hours
The Milgram Project
IdentityV as a whole
The differences and similarities between IdentityV and Dead By Daylight
Mitski’s music
Toxic Stan culture (Specifically focusing on the idolization of singers like Mitski)
Capitalism.
The rise and fall of the DreamSMP
Actually good MCYTs (SMajor, Grian, LDshadowlady, Gem, Cleo, Mumbo, and the rest of those guys)
My hatred for Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift (similar but very different reasons)
The history of my main ocs (one started as a Kipo (Netflix series) oc, then a MHA oc, rinse and repeat like 5 more times)
My main oc storyline (basically Miraculous Ladybug if it was more mature and just… better…)
TikTok’s tendency to hype up creators and then discard them (HEAVY ON PENELOPE SCOTT)
Victorious, the Nick TV show. (TRINA WAS THE VICTIM I STAND BY THAT FOREVER!)

Actor au stuff but it’s all Ranboo .
•Tubbo kept hearing about Ranboo and just brought him on set one day since he was a fan of the show
•Wilbur and dream liked him and invited him on after a few auditions and discussions with his family.
•Ranboo was a part of community theatre projects but never did anything big like the DreamSMP before.
•Tommy and Ranboo’s first interactions stay true. Tommy interrogated Ranboo just to be frustrated with the answers he was given.
•Ranboo can drive, hardly anyone else can. He soon started running errands. (Getting coffee and lunch for tubbo and the sbi, helping the stage hands and getting them paints and stuff when needed)
•Ranboo dyed his hair for the part without his family’s knowledge. Fundy and Tubbo make fun of his mother’s reaction.
•The gold digger/husband bit has become very common. Ranboo grabs Tubbo and the gang coffee, Greeting Tubb with “hey gold digger, got you coffee” and Tubbo says something like “oh thank you loving husband.” They get lots of weird looks from Tommy for this.
•Quackitys jackbox streams translate to him bringing board games on set. Ranboo gets frustrated when people make up rules on the spot.
•Ranboo is very active with his fan base and has a Snapchat where he documents particularly interesting days on set
•Nikki and Tubbo showed him around the set his first day.
•Tubbo and Ranboo travel together, going as far as to share hotel rooms for weeks on end when they get stuck.
•Ranboo’s least favorite part about being apart of the show is the SFX makeup. Removing it, to be more specific. Him and Tubbo struggle with latex ears and horns after recording.
•Wilbur wasn’t sure if he like Ranboo at first, but when he saw how he fumbled around set as Tubbo and Nikki dragged him along he knew that he’d fit right in.
•After being compared to techno for months, Ranboo was most nervous to meet him. ESPECIALLY ACT WITH HIM. Once Phil told him that techno and him were going to be neighbors he went on a nervous rant to Tubbo. Tubbo reassured him that techno is just as nervous, and that he’ll be fine.
•Tommy asking Ranboo why he had a post about punting him. That’s all.
•Ranboo geeked out about having an actor chair with his name on the back.
•when he brings coffee, Tubbo had to protect Ranboo’s so fundy doesn’t steal sips.
•I can imagine the Panic room scenes with dream in super cool costume and makeup, and ranboo just looking like a disheveled mess.
•the flirty scenes between dream and George are completely improv.
•there’s an actual blooper reel at the end of each episode.
•the Shlatt and ranboo interaction happened off set, but it seriously means a lot to Ranboo.
•Ranboo’s character dressed in a suit for the first couple weeks on the show, but once he joined techno and Phil, he started wearing a sweater vest over a white button up. This was because it was getting harder to find suits that fit him.
•Ranboo was excited to meet Sam! They could share the struggle of being inhumanity tall! And then they met! And then sam was average hight. Ranboo was disappointed in him, to say the least.
•Seeing tubbo in public ment that Ranboo was not far, and vise versa. It became a meme that the bee duo were just always together. Tommy ‘confronted’ Ranboo about stealing his bestie.
•Ranboo listens to music when doing tasks like his makeup, managing social media, etc. he sometimes hums along to the song. The crew has been trying to catch him sing for months. So far, only Wilbur had caught him. (And told him that he was good, despite Ranboo’s embarrassment)
•Ranboo wears his mask and glasses in public, but once he dyed his hair all attempts to be stealthy gone out the window. (ESPECIALLY WHEN HE STARTED GOING EVERYWHERE WITH TUBBO, the two were stopped like 5 times during a supermarket run)
•They film in the UK, but techno and ranboo took tubbo+ the sbi to America
•Bbh and Ranboo love the feeling of taking off stilts/platforms
• speaking of platforms! Ranboo already towers over everyone in the cast, when he told them his character was even taller,,,, let’s just say they were shocked.
•Ranboo and Tubbo order pizza directly to their hotel rooms. Well not pizza, Tubbo orders pasta every time and ranboo orders plain cheese pizza like a MONSTER.
• Ranboo hits his head on the metal detector at the airport.
•When Tubbo works on his passion project (his own tv show) Ranboo try’s to sneak peaks, even if Tubbo says not to.
• everyone just goes by their stage names. When introducing his family to his cast members, Ranboo couldn’t tell if he was supposed to say “Mom, Dad, this is Dream!” Or “Mom, dad, this is Clay!” So it came out “Mom, dad, this is Dray!”
•Tubbo makes Tommy and Ranboo call him Toby. Ranboo has a particularly hard time with this.
•there are moments when Ranboo forgets he’s in the show, goes to scroll through fanart and fandom stuff, then hears himself act and is confused for a moment
•Someone has called Ranboo Ranby at some point and he hates it.
•Ranboob is also another nickname that’s very prevalent in this au.
• Sapnap and Ranboo did that pirate thing together and sometimes call eachother matey
•Tales of the SMP episodes are like holiday specials
•they have a wii in the vanity room.
Oh happy Valentine’s Day btw

My opinion on the different Dream manipulating someone storylines.
Disclaimer: This isn't meant to shit on anyone as a creator or anyone's acting. This might be kind of negative but isn't meant to be offensive to any DreamSMP creator especially since the main ones I'm talking about are minors. This is just my thoughts and you can obviously disagree. I don't think that Dream as a person is a manipulative person so whenever I mention Dream I mean the SMP character unless I state otherwise.
This is mainly based off of my own experiences as someone who was manipulated and gaslighted for a lot of time by several people and as someone who is doing a human psychology degree.
First thing I want to say is I love Dream as a villain and will be a bit annoyed if they try to redeem him like in every cliché film or TV show. The only redemption arc I will accept is Dream being possessed by a Dreamon from way back since that storyline was set up before Dream was considered the main villain. However if the Dreamon storyline is used as a Dream redemption arc it has to be flawlessly written otherwise it will come off cringe.
~~Here's the short version: From best to worst storyline based on my opinion is Ranboo, Tubbo, Wilbur, Tommy, Ghostbur and Techno~~
So the first manipulated storyline I want to talk about is Wilbur. I love the fact that Dream used Wilbur's already messy mental health to play him and turn him against everyone and made him the villain. I think it was the original starting point of Dream's biggest villain trait being a manipulative person. I think it was mainly used to be a lead up to Dream manipulating Tommy and Tubbo. I would call this the Clingyduo test run. If Dream can turn Wilbur against Tommy then he can turn everyone including Tubbo against Tommy. It also helped to explain how Wilbur managed to get all the tnt and how he always managed to sneak into the L'Manberg to set it up as well as clearing up mainly plot holes. The acting was fairly decent especially since it's not scripted and wasn't an intentional plot point. I like the fact it was more behind the scenes manipulation since nobody knew how much Dream was actually controlling Wilbur and most people just assumed Wilbur was just going insane. It made it so nobody was weary of Dream as a manipulator which made the Tommy exile arc more impactful since nobody knew this side of Dream.
Next up is the Tubbo being manipulated by Dream storyline. I like this one mainly because it was from a different angle compared to Wilbur and Tommy's. Dream pretended to be Tubbo's friend to get the disc whilst simultaneously manipulating Tommy to suicide in exile. Dream would talk about how Tommy's been (obviously lying) and saying how much better Tommy and Tubbo are doing apart. Tubbo was getting gaslighted more than straight up manipulated. Dream was saying how much calmer and safer L'Manberg was now that Tommy's gone. Dream's aim with Tubbo was to make him see how much better things were without Tommy and how when Tommy's around Tubbo gets pushed about and Tommy being all of L'Manberg's problems like the wall being built because Tommy burned down George's lesbian mushroom cottage. At the same time as feeding all these ideas and thoughts to Tubbo he playing nice by helping build things, playing games and respecting L'Manberg rules. It's a very sly manipulation because Tubbo obviously told Quackity, Fundy and Ranboo about all his conversations with Dream and it made them slightly less weary of Dream as well as making them think worse of Tommy. It was a good way of showing different kinds of manipulation and how it isn't all painfully obvious. Also Tubbo having a storyline that doesn't revolve around Tommy is an instant win in my book
3rd storyline is Techno and Ghostbur. I'm grouping these together because they were smaller storylines and were similar in tactics. Dream told Techno about The Butcher Army as well as where to get a totem to hold a future favour above his head. Dream knew Tommy was at Techno's but chose to let it play out knowing that Tommy and Techno had very different morals and end goals. Even if they didn't end up butting heads Dream could use his favour to separate Techno and Tommy either by getting Techno to do something to upset Tommy (killing Tubbo) or getting Techno to appear like he's using Tommy to destroy L'Manberg. Making Tommy see Techno as another powerful manipulator. Dream used Ghostburs lack of memory to his advantage. Ghostbur didn't remember that Dream and Wilbur were teamed up or that Dream was using Wilbur which meant that Dream could once again manipulate Wilbur but as less insane, kinder Ghostbur. He used Ghostbur by pretending to be his friend and offering him thing such as food, friendship and shelter to get Ghostbur to trust him so when he tells Ghostbur that he'll (Dream) deliver Tommy's beach party invites Ghostbur sees nothing weird or wrong because to him Dream is helpful. Then he tells Ghostbur to go for a walk so he can make Tommy think that Ghostbur has abandoned him making it so Tommy only has Dream left.
Next is Tommy. Dream used the discs to manipulate Tommy for a long time. When the opportunity of exiling Tommy making him truly alone appeared Dream took it. Then the whole exile arc was Dream manipulating Tommy to the point of him being so isolated and alone he relied solely on Dream until Dream stopped playing games and was ridiculously blunt with Tommy making him want to commit suicide because his last friend wasn't even his friend and he'd lost everything and everyone. I think in my personal opinion this was one of the less believable manipulation arcs nothing against Tommy but it came off as a very textbook/TV show manipulator story where the victim gets close to death only for the manipulator to switch up and start exposing themselves. Manipulators are smart and people around them don't know someone's being manipulated. Yes I enjoyed the storyline but I think it dragged on for too long with no changes and the immediately shifted tones. I would have appreciated it if instead of Dream snapping at the community house and revealing everything in front of everyone, if Dream would start to slip up and Tommy started to notice then Dream slips up Infront of Techno and Phil, then Infront of Tubbo and other L'Manberg members. So it was a domino effect of people realising what was happening instead of everyone finding out at one and having no time to process. Everyone finding out at once because Dream told them sort of ruined it a bit for me. I still think it was an excellent storyline and they both acted their hearts out it just went from a cool individual storyline to a cliché villain speech where they reveal everything in time for people to stop all plans. (However bonus points for doing the non canon chill streams with Drista and Mexican Dream in-between)
Finally is Ranboo's. I absolutely love the irl Ranboo and irl Dream dynamic. They are both incredibly good at portraying their characters down to the little details of Dream changing his voice to Ranboo stuttering and shaking. I think it might be my second favourite storyline out of all of them (first being Egg because it's the only storyline to be mainly og members like Sam, BBH, Ant and Punz). I appreciate the amount of work and details that have gone into the story so far, including doing the prison but of a different server so they could use special effects and coding. The story has a very structured and strong foundation compared to every other storyline which is helped obviously by Ranboo being new. Going to be honest the streams sometimes trigger me because of how realistic they are from Dream being the manipulative voice in Ranboo's head to Ranboo having to question what's real and what's fake. Ranboo's convincing himself he blew up the community house purely because of the Dream voice in his head. The fact that both Dream and Ranboo gave had to do content warnings and trigger warnings should be enough to explain how good the acting is. Honestly where are their awards. (Yes this is me praising Ranboo and Dream but I genuinely love this storyline so much eventhough it's another Dream manipulating a minor storyline. It's done so well and you can tell how passionate both Dream and Ranboo are about Ranboo's lore and storyline. Favourite child much)

i think that unless the piece of media is inherently harmful, analysis and any other kind of interpretation shouldn’t be FORCED. but there are two sides to that argument:
1) genuinely teaching people how to view arcs and characters in a scrutinizing lens, alongside comparisons to actual significant stories and cultural elements, is Really Good.
saying this as someone that was online during the whole “english class is stupid for color symbolism, the curtains are Just Blue”, seeing the fandom as a whole peel back the layers of writing technique to analyze dialogue from allusions to in-text (“””text”””, i say loosely) parallels is a world of improvement from taking something at surface level and manipulating canon however one wants, not caring if the characters had deeper motives or if there was a significant message being expressed by the creators.
the exponential amount of growth i’ve seen in fandom since around wilbur’s pogtopia era is phenomonal, and i think it’s legitimately influencing people to think about media they consume in a meaningful way. the lessons this fandom teaches about knowing context, following plotlines, referencing other pieces of media, and more, are crucial for experiencing books, TV shows, podcasts, or whathaveyou, and those sort of lessons are going to stick. it’s amazing to see such a gigantic amount of people actively engaging in discourse as the word was initially meant to be used.
2) on the other hand, this level of perception should never be expected. yes, it can be enjoyed, and will definitely make fantastic practice for real-life application, but nobody should HAVE to do this. at the end of the day, we are watching minecraft streamers on twitch dot tv, and if someone wants to watch it with a lighthearted attitude, only following a handful of perspectives when they feel like tuning in, obviously they should be allowed and encouraged to do so.
will they have difficulty participating in fandom behavior if they don’t enjoy analysis? yes, but that’s why the tagging system exists. they can just filter neg/c!antis/discourse and carry on ingesting fanart and other apolitical content.
truth be told, not every dreamsmp viewer is going to take such a deep dive into the inner workings of c!wilbur’s brain, or allot time into watching the prison arc streams from an awesamdude-sympathetic perspective.
-
i think this fandom is most definitely an outlier, and the ulterior reason for this other than quarantine is how minecraft and dramatic plotlines draw in a lot of neurodivergent and theatrical people. the dreamsmp is a humongous amount of content, and at that a highly enjoyable, ever-created, relatable, attention-grabbing and stimulating one, and tons of people hyperfixate on it. this propagates the belief that to participate in this fandom, you MUST engage with discourse, as the majority of theatre nerds or hyperfixating people pull it apart piece by piece on the daily.
however, analysts and people just here for a calm time have to be able to coexist. and that’s why people should Tag Their Shit.
WOOOOOOOO i dont have anything to add, you've got it

im sitting here
feeling genuine stress at the idea of dream/whoever else has rights to the dsmp would be willing to let some company like netflix turn the dream smp into a tv show that is simply unable to fit what the dreamsmp is all about. even with competent people working on the show, it simply would be impossible to make it the same. and the odds are they wont try their hardest to do a good job, and so every character will be reduced to some one-dimensional bs and everything is black and white. any sign of mlm would be erased, and niki would become the Love Interest™ of nearly every guy. the characters would suck, and the sets would suck, the acting may not suck but it wont ever feel the same because it’s actual acting and there are never off-script moments.
and worstly is the fandom. it gets fucking flooded with people who refuse to try and watch the original content because ‘theres too much’ and ‘its less interesting’ because they dont care about minecraft and cant deal w/ the idea of breaks from plot.
it is genuinely making me anxious wtf i dont even have anxiety? this is just too fucking terrible for me to deal?

So, I’ve seen people actively telling other people how to tag their posts. Like, I’ve seen this done when people want Trigger Warnings. Okay. That’s fair and totally understandable. I have no problem with those people.
But I’m talking about people getting angry with the DreamSMP fandom for tagging their stuff as Minecraft. It’s ridiculous. The roleplay literally takes place in Minecraft. Why would they not tag it as such? And even if I DONT tag it as Minecraft, by mentioning the word “Minecraft” anywhere in a post, nine times out of ten it’s gonna show up in the Minecraft Tag because that’s just Tumblr.
I’m not saying you don’t have a right to be annoyed. Be annoyed. Post about it. That’s what Tumblr is for.
But you do not have the right to tell other people to change their tags. Especially since what they’re tagging is not actually unrelated. People tag things so they can find it again and so that others can find it. DreamSMP, Mianite, EpicSMP, Shadow of Israphel, etc: they all take place in Minecraft.
Now if they’re tagging a Youtuber that doesn’t actually play Minecraft as “Minecraft” then by all means, politely ask them to change the tag. Or you could just scroll past, like everybody else. They’re not hurting you on purpose.
I have been on this site for a very long time and I’ve been a part of a lot of fandoms. I cannot tell you how many times a fandom tag gets cluttered with something that is related, but unwanted.
Where were you people when the NBC show Grimm lost it’s tag to RWBY related stuff?
Or when the Slenderman Fandom lost its tag to Supernatural?
Can you imagine how annoyed people were when the Hannibal Tag became entirely about the tv show instead of the original books/movies??
And yet I don’t remember ever seeing anyone getting as upset as I do now. Make a post complaining. Go ahead. I mean that’s exactly what I’m doing right now. That’s logical and maybe people will see it and want to change just for you.
But personally messaging them and trying to make them change their tags is kinda silly. I haven’t seen anyone get straight up hateful just yet, which is good, proud of you guys. But you can’t police an entire fandom. If you wanna try, that’s fine, more power to ya, I ain’t telling you what to do. Send all the messages you want. Just don’t expect everyone to see it the way you do.
I’m sorry you’ve lost your tag. But that’s Tumblr. Welcome to the Hellsite. Shoulda been here for the Misha-pocalypse.
Be grateful they’re not Pornbots. That era was a nightmare.
I believe Tumblr still has a blacklist option. Just blacklist DreamSMP and any other youtuber you don’t want and ta-da! Problem solved.

For the ask game: 3 (although I feel like I know the answer), 14, and 15 :)
Tumblr media
You two have the same brain I think it's the discord brainrot. Anyway y'all actually made me think for this one.
3. Favourite mcyt friend group?
Well I mean.... Tbh if you want specifics then it's Team ZIT permanently or the IDEA boys in season six. I miss em.
14. Favourite animation/animatic made by the fandom?
I'll admit, I don't actually watch too many animatics - though I've started for DreamSMP. But I picked two anyway because fight me :)
The first is Boomers Commercial Thing by Hoshi on YouTube. I came in too late for Boomers but this is literally the cutest and I love that it's done in a reality TV show style,,,, and I love how everyone is drawn. Really good animation & humour.
Then the next is Quality Hermitcraft content by SpicySav because it's so stupidly funny and I love the sonic fandubs and I love UGS and they shoved em together. And again, I love their designs, amazing artwork. All of the expressions are hysterical.
15. Favourite fanfic, if you read them?
Well clearly I don't, it's my alter ego, my main's username lmao. Nah, I've already mentioned Lost in the Void's Embrace (but also go read that) so for this one I'm gonna say The Parting Glass by Sekrap. It's a really good story that explores Doc's origins, the NHO, the jungle, season six, Bdubs & Keralis rejoining... Just so so good. Genuine horror with a lot of found family and really great world building. It's part of a trilogy, of which I have only read two, but I'd have to say this is my favourite, though I believe it was written last. Just went and reread it again because of this hkgfs. Hopefully I'll get around to reading the third one soon too!!
