Adidas – AdiClub Member’s Lounge As @gravityistanbul , we created a social club which sits on 200m2 area for AdiClub Members on the 7th floor of Adidas Store Beyoğlu. With this design, we aimed for a transformable and flexible lounge for multiple functions. What was required is to separate the whole floor for entertainment purposes, gatherings and meetings. All furniture is designed in modular systems. When needed, all modular furniture can be brought together for larger groups of people and social activities. Different zoning functions can be achieved by curtains and glass separations if more privacy is needed. Adidas – Water Station “Refill Your Bottle” As Gravity, we were asked for a %100 sustainable production design which will be located on the base floor of the Adidas Store Beyoğlu, where all customers will pass by without exception through the store circulation. The main idea was to create clean water fountains for customers to refill their bottles, in regard of causing less plastic waste. Sustainable materials, such as moss plants and natural wood were used to cover the surroundings of the custom-made fountains. A glass wall is placed in front of the moss wall to recreate the waterfall sensation. When Charles Darwin arrived in Rio de Janerio in the early 1830’s there was a chronic lack of drinking water.

He also observed the complete deforestation of the hills around Rio - the same ones that today we see as lush native forest.

With the coffee boom in the 1600’s the forested hills and mountains around Rio were completely cleared apart from the very mountain tops and coffee was planted en masse.

The area city soon ran out of drinking water and soil eroded.

In the 1800’s it was decided the hills needed to be reforested and workers were sent high into the few untouched mountain top forests to collect seeds and seedlings. Over 20 years 40 km2 of forest was returned and the rivers and streams flowed again.

This forest now called Floresta da Tijuca is said to be the largest man made urban forest .🌿🌿🌿
