after 45 minutes of searching for my contact lenses, id officially came to the conclusion that they weren't going to be found anytime soon. "shit." i mumbled to myself as i blindly searched through my closet drawers then unexpectedly feeling the smooth frames of my old glasses from 8th grade "holy shit!" i laughed in disbelief as i held them up in front of me and sliding them on.
"matt you have to come over, i have something to show you!!" i giggle into the phone as i run a hand through my hair "okay, ill be over in a few minutes." matt says confused, then hanging up the phone.
i scoff looking at myself in the mirror, i havent seen myself in glasses in a good 5 years, and its really throwing me off, these look stupid as f- my thoughts are cut off by 3 soft knocks at my front door "its unlocked matt!" i yell out as i hide in the bathroom out of pure embarrassment.
my bedroom door swings open, "hey baby! what did you wanna show me?" matt says, but he is met with no response "where are you sweetheart?" matt calls out again "bathroom." i say giggling as i sit on the edge of the cold bathtub, matts footsteps edge closer to the bathroom "hey can i come in?" matt asks from outside the door"okay but i look stupid, be warned." i say as matt pushes open the door slowly, he looks at me and a wide grin forms on his face "is it bad? i lost my contacts" i say smiling "what are you on? you look so cute!!" matt says walking over to me and picking me up by my ass with his tattooed arm and smothering me in kisses "you think so?" i ask "i know so baby" matt responds instantly before putting me down carefully on the tiles.
"lets go to my room, its so cold in the bathroom." i say dragging him out by his hands, which are covered in silver rings. "wait matt look i got another book, can i tell you about it?" i say excitably as i shut the bedroom door behind us and leap onto my bed "mhm..!" matt says reluctantly as he sits next to me on the bed, facing me "okay so!" i begin as i tell matt about the book ive been reading for a few minutes, but then abruptly stop "matt?" i question then suddenly matt snaps out of his daydreaming. "are you even listening to me?" i say and matt wipes the side of his face "your just so pretty." matt says softly as he maintains eye contact, but i can see him fidgeting with his rings, my cheeks flush red and a grin spreads across my face "oh mattt, your so precious," i say smiling as i lean forward and pull him into a gentle kiss.

he doesn’t care about keeping distance as he takes his time with you, eyes asking “this good?” as you nod back, taking a deep breath and exhaling out your nose, smiling. “that’s better :3” “ain’t it? feel like everyone’s first couple times should be shotgunning.” he wraps an arm around you as he takes a hit himself and looks back to the tv.

while people are on the topic of finn, a little appreciation for our will byers' actor! noah!
i feel like he could have turned out like a model or something, if you see when he was younger, he was all in proportion and like very pretty boy, a traditional, good looking young man. but now thats he's older and grown into his features a little more - he's not entirely there, that wont happen until they finish growing at like 25 ish, but he is more oddly proportioned now in a nice way. he's EVER so slightly chubbier. he's also mega goofy, but in a different way to finn (although not THAT different actually). he gets away with it more cos he's still handsome in a traditional western way except for the obvious jewish features that im sure lots of bigots hate (see all the toxic milevens on twitter). his teeth are kinda goofy but also cute, but it's his smile that does it. it's kind of contained and shy, down-turned as though he has internalised not wanting to smile too widely, or perhaps just feeling shy and bashful when he's happy. which is VERY will. i think they are more similar than he let's on tbh. i think he's secretly a shy one, just like when he was a kid.
whereas finn seems to burst with light and laughter, then sudddenly realise he's in public and become self conscious again, and his face just turns sour af lmaooooo bless him
mad props to the casting director tbh - these are two performers with faces that are endlessly mesmerising, and acting skills to match. i feel so grateful to be watching their portrayals of this story unfold in real time. the fact that it may break new ground is a bonus, but even if fit doesn't, i've had a ball for the past couple of years! if nothing else, having their first adult scene together could work wonders for their professional confidence. if i was a pro actor, i would love to do an intimate scene with a close friend of mine, we would have a ball and the trust would be unreal.
and lastly, here's a funny little story...
years before i joined the fandom proper in 2022, when s2 was just coming out, my friend (who was very mainstream) showed me some pictures of a photoshoot with noah and finn. we were in our early 20s, fresh from college and no clue what to do with life. and my friend showed me this black and white photoshoot on insta (i think its the one noah recently posted to show his excitement of working with finn again for finn's birthday?), and she was quiet as i looked, waiting to hear what i would say.
and i was like... they look....
*massive pause while I look at her, incredulous and mildly disturbed*
and she said '... hot.'
and I was like YES, WTFFFFFFF
and she was like WTFFFFFF
and we were so uncomfortable and confused! they were young teens! but the fact that it was my mainstream friend who had literally just discovered the 80s through this show, who had a first class English degree from Edinburgh university, who had just started working at a prestigious publishing house in the city, who had a rather gorgeous boyfriend... i mean she was the most down-the-line person you ever met. and i was just so surprised and grateful she had trusted me to say this, and we proceeded to discuss wtf was going on.
basically - photoshoots, esp when the cast were teens, kind of passively sexualised them. im not talking explicit, but rather encouraging pensive brooding stares and poses that are something you would see in a couture magazine. they looked older because they werent smiling, and were emulating these poses that adult men would do.
on top of that, finn esp really reminded me of the first boy i ever had a proper crush on at 13. i remember it so clearly because its not the hair or the skin or whatever superficial stuff, but rather his expressions and attitude (and the freckles). finn, when younger, had this arrogant (and therefore irresistible) teen boy vibe which exactly matched this boy i fell in love with at 13. i realise now that thats all probably from a place of insecurity on finn + the boy's part, but even at 22 sitting in this cafe with my friend, browsing insta innocently, i could remember exactly what it was like to be 13 and my heart was just beating. whenever i think of that crush on that boy, i am 13 again. i am not a grown woman perving on a young boy. i am 13.
so i think, maybe, thats how many of us here connect with spicy byler tumblr.
and now, of course, watching them grow up on my screen (having rejoined the fandom post s4) has been a very... interesting experience for me. i think byler sex discussion on here speaks volumes about how we are all from different walks of life. if i wasn't an art major who has literally been drawing naked bodies from life since I was 16 at school, and a psychology student, i might not understand how to discuss all this stuff. as it is, i've got too much emotional education under my belt, and i know how to embrace my shadow self as long as im not hurting myself or anyone else. (vecna would take one look at me and say NOPE lol.)

p.s. sadly im not friends with that girl anymore, but this will always be a legacy of our friendship (plus the fact that she was so grateful for my pre-existing knowledge of 80s music lol. & we both bought corduroy sheepskin jackets immediately after watching s1, lucas KILLED it. fashion king)

Your cafe story raises so many interesting psychological ideas about the nature of storytelling and connecting to coming-of-age narratives or even writing it/creating it, as the Duffers have done. Even though your story is related to Finn IRL, I'd say a part of writing/reading a story is putting yourself in the shoes of the characters and seeing things from their eyes. And that includes temporarily "becoming 13 again" (or becoming the age of the characters you're exploring). And that's not creepy. It's just a part of the process. Art itself is messy and psychologically layered.
A lot of Bylers seem to believe the Duffers would be creepy for including a sex scene in S5, even with the characters aged up, because they watched Finn and Noah (and by extension Mike and Will) grow up. But really, it's all a part of them engaging with the coming-of-age themes they've set up and "becoming 17 again" to properly tell this story how it's meant to be told, wherever that journey takes them. And in the context of a gay coming-of-age tale, it just might include sexual exploration and discovery. *Gasps*

heyo so i decided to do live notes on me reading this guys backstory. my mom says she literally cried when she read a year before me, and that its really sad so i wanted to keep my live reactions bcs this isnt my first time screaming at the plot twists in demon slayer. i start the live notes in the beginnings of chapter 154 and im also reading the manga in japanese so i might have mistranslated/misunderstood some things lol

You probably read these posts already but they are some of the perfect examples when we say that most jikookers are losing the plot here. They're making theories that are aligned to jikook's everlasting love and kumbaya to make sense of why JK is doing and agreeing to all that shit.
That anon really made it look like JK is doing all that for him and jimin's future. What do you mean JK is just being a hero and making sacrifices for the two of them? So he's a saint now, and that makes it okay that Jimin is being suppressed? JK deserves the massive push but Jimin does not?? JK wants the company to fuck off and he has limited options???? WTFFFFFF????!! My brain is disintegrating, I can't. These people are romanticizing everything just so they can make the jikook ship sail and absolve JK from everything. Oh god forbid the good, innocent maknae can do no wrong. This is gross!!
The answers are perfect and insightful though. JK and JM can be queer and anything under the sun right now but I refuse to get behind that JK is doing all of this for his love for Jimin. Far from it. He's doing all of that for himself; for his goal of being a "giant pop star", and those are his own words. Coming out can hurt your career, yes but no one's forcing anyone as far as we know. Okay, this one's the "Obi-Wan crash lands in middle earth" au! His ship is so thoroughly destroyed that he has no way of repairing it or contacting anyone for help. He tries to get in touch with the most learned people on this backwards planet, but because elves don't see the curvature of the earth they're absolutely no help. (In fact, they don't believe him at all.) He also sounds like he's speaking in tongues, and though he picks up the language quickly, he's either lost in translation or insane, because he keeps talking about flying and stars and aliens and the concept of democracy.
They take pity on him and maybe let him stay in Rivendell to try to heal his mind, because he's clearly crazy and they can sense his deep sadness (his life sucks so much that this can take place at pretty much any point during his lifetime). So Obi-Wan faffs about trying to fix his ship without letting the elves near it, because like hell he's entrusting it to a bunch of flat earthers who've never even heard of space travel and who believe he's off his rocker.
Then while he's in the woods fucking with his ship he encounters a bunch of darksiders chasing down an elf woman holding a child who's been stabbed, so he kills them all and convinces their dark steeds to give him a lift so he can escort them the rest of the way to Rivendell.
Arwen/glorfindel sees some dude kill the Ringwraiths with a flaming sword, and then tame their horses without speaking a word of sindarin or quenya or anything else he/she can understand, and then start chasing them, and loses his/her shit.
Once that gets sorted out, no one at the Council of Elrond knows what the fuck to do with this madman who can kill Nazgul with his disappearing magic sword. He also has plenty of experience resisting the dark side, so the ring doesn't tempt him, and it is not happy about that at all-- like a Sith holocron, it starts trying to hurt him or drive him insane, but it's very clearly not succeeding. Maybe he lifts it with the force so he doesn't have to touch it directly, thus revealing his "magic," and Gandalf is like "what the fuck why is he as powerful as I am wtf wtffffff"
So while they're all arguing about whether they can trust him, Obi-Wan hears that dwarves are good with metal and don't like the elves. He asks gimli to help fix his ship. Everyone hears him talking about a metal boat that can fly and they're like "oh so he's crazy on top of being the most dangerous person in this room. Great. Fantastic."
And then shenanigans. Obi-Wan tries to learn how to use a regular sword and is comically bad at it because he's only ever wielded lightsabers. Boromir tries to poach him for Gondor but a mistranslation happens and Obi-Wan thinks he's propositioning him. Maybe Maul ALSO crash lands and strikes up a partnership with Gollum, because one's obsessed with the ring while the other is obsessed with the ringbearer. Obi-Wan on a quest for replacement power converters, trying and failing to prove his sanity to the rest of the fellowship. All sorts of fun dumb stuff!

Knowing absolutely nothing about Hen, Eddie and buck, I didn’t know how they where gonna interact with the ls characters but it was all too funny
Buck complaining that marjan didn’t follow him back on instagram made me laugh so much
I loved the Eddie and marjan duo, there where cute
When matteo was going on about the cousin I was like this is absolutely  hilarious, but I had now fucking clue that this character was really until I checked the tag, omg that made me laugh so much
