I cannot get over this AU idea that me and @hazelhavoc came up with and it lives in my head rent free and I must share it with the world (I got their permission of course!)

Codeburst, Staticflame, Glint, and Hyperdose all belong to @hazelhavoc

We pretty much have this idea that Ironhide grew up in Crystal City and decided to go to school for psychology because he has a big spark for helping people out, but it turns out he is simply terrible at conventional schooling so he failed out before the war. Anyway tough love Ironhide is my current favorite thing to think about. Here’s a little blurb from our roleplay chat about this staring canon characters and hazelhavoc’s OCs!

Ironhide putting on his drill sergeant voice: *stands on a table banging two trays together until everyone is looking at him* Alright! I just woke up from a full 9 hours of recharge and I’ve fueled and showered. Anyone who hasn’t done those things in the last two days needs to go take care of themselves right the fuck now because I’m warning you- I have the spoons and the fucks to give. Codeburst go to bed. Optimus, if you don’t find the will to live right the fuck now and start consuming some energon, I will hog tie you and spoon feed it to you myself. Prowl, you look like you’re on the verge of a logic glitch- drop down and give me a 20 minute break!! Ultra Magnus if no one has told you that you do a lot for this cause and even if you struggle to grasp basic social cues, you are valued and we are thankful for all you do, I’m telling that to you now! Self care! Let’s go people, I can keep going! I wanna see some movement or Imma start singin!

Codeburst: But-- fine. *neglected sulk out of the room*

Optimus: *sighs and grabs full cube with a sarcastic eye roll knowing that he can and will follow through on any threat he has made* Sir, yes sir…

Staticflame: Yeah! Take your energon. I'll help you, Ironhide! Nobody is safe (affectionate)

Optimus: *grumbles and begrudgingly starts refueling*

Staticflame: *smirks and nods, hovering to make sure sure Optimus actually refuels*

Glint: Come on Prowl, if you don't rest your processor I'll go tell Ratchet! If I have to I'll take over your work. I'll get Jazz to help! *Please listen to her, she is very concerned for your health. She gives good cuddles if you need it.*

Prowl: *groans but slides datapad over to Glint* I guess a shower does sound nice…

Glint: **happy cheer and takes it, she'll work extra hard now!**

Hyperdose: Hey, I do that! : D *Extremely supportive to literally everyone unless they do something stupid then get ready for a tender and concerned scolding*

Magnus: *Small blush and grumbles*Thank you, it is nice to hear from different people *reaches for Hyperdose’s hand because they’re an adorable couple*

Hyperdose: No need to thank us darling, you mean so much to everyone and you're important- I should be thanking you! **Let's his hand get surrounded by Magnus', own blue freckles shining from his blush, resting his helm on part of his bicep**

Siiiince this is Theron Thursday, let’s use the Spy Nerds :D

3. When they are having a fight, what is it about and how do they deal with it?

It’s either about Jaaide working too hard(she’s maybe the only person in the galaxy who’s more of a workaholic than him) or Theron going all Lone Wolf I-Don’t-Need-Backup(yes you do, you ninny, last time almost KILLED YOU). The Jaaide working too hard fights usually end with her promising to try and do better bc she knows he’s A) speaking from experience B) worried about her and C) right. She does try, it just never actually… sticks. The Theron Going Lone Wolf fight is one they actually haven’t had since Nathema (maybe he learned his lesson *cough*), but it went pretty much the same. Him promising to do better bc he knows Jaaide is both right and worried about him, trying to do better but not actually succeeding, etc. But he hasn’t done that again since, y’know. the almost dying thing. So Jaaide’s kinda hoping that knocked some sense into him.

(Someday when I iron out the dialogue they may have Words about The Thing, bc trust is super important to Jaaide, Theron knows that, and he’s the only person in the entire galaxy she has never lied to, so. Yeah. But I”m terrrrrrible at arguments, so that’ll be a long time coming)

The only other thing they argue about is gizka. Theron thinks they’re cute, Jaaide hates ‘em. She had to deal with three separate–not recurring, separate–gizka infestations on her ship. They got a lot less cute the second time around. Those fights usually end in a draw. Or a tickle/pillow fight. Sometimes both.

4. Their favorite physical feature on each other?

Jaaide loves Theron’s hair. It’s softer than you would expect with how he styles it(she jokes he’s been doing the faux hawk so long he doesn’t need much styling gel or anything, the hair just stays that way on its own. Theron is not amused), so she loves to comb her fingers through the back, or play with the top part when she wakes up before him. And ofc I’ve already mentioned my headcanon that when/if he grows his hair back out following Nathema, she likes to rub the peach fuzzy stripes.

Theron loves Jaaide’s face. Her whole face; eyes, nose, lips, freckles, scars, implants, all of it. Being that he’s not great with emotions etc he hasn’t yet connected that that’s because he associates her face with safety and home and all that lovey-dovey couple stuff from romance movies. (I’m not explaining this well rip)

8. What are their most prominent memories of each other?

Well, I mean. Rishi’s a pretty big one. Everything from that planet, but especially the convo surrounding their first kiss. Even more than the kiss itself. Just the whole idea of being honest with each other and all, despite(supposedly /cough) being on opposite sides. The first ‘I love you’s (and I mean the ones I did in Liar Liar, not the game-canon ones). Oh, and the acquiring of Keke, Jaaide’s orokeet, was adventure enough to turn into a fond memory.

On a darker note, also pretty sure Jaaide’s never gonna forget Vinn kriffing Atrius jamming a lightsaber pike through Theron’s chest. And, flip side, Theron’s never gonna forget Jaaide’s face on that damn train.

13. How do they react at being away from each other?

They handle it pretty well(occupational hazard). They might get moody or introspective thinking about their partner, but they can both get moody or introspective anyway, so it’s not a big difference. :P

17. Their ways of expressing their love.

For Theron–*glances at Crisis on Umbara-Nathema Conspiracy*–apparently mean it when he says he’ll do anything to protect her. Even if it’s stupid and risky as hell.

For Jaaide, trust him–despite massive evidence to the contrary–while he’s doing anything to protect her. Yell at him when it’s stupid and risky as hell.

25. Share any headcanons about their relationship.

They’re another pairing I think I’ve ficc’ed pretty much every headcanon I have about their relationship? I think. Oh, except their reactions the first time they see each other in formal wear. But I still plan to write that one, so [redacted] >;3

29. What are your favorite moments that happen between them?

I wanted to doodle for every and each of these asks but lately my hands won’t cooperate and I’ve left them to collect dust long enough, I think (sorry about that)

More things about Beth include

she knows how to play a bunch of instruments, but her fave is the bass

she’s short but got a type of presence to herself that makes her look ten feet tall always

she’s the one person Chris looks up to the most

she cuts and dyes her own hair

back when these kids still had a story she was a focal point in Chris’s plot and, subsequently, in Josh’s too. I don’t know how much I’ll keep of that side of it all, so I can’t say much about it, but she goes through some shit and comes out of it, if not better, definitely stronger and more in control of herself

she a swordsman! ties with the original story’s plot a lot, and since I’m gonna mention something about it later I decided to give you this small info about my girl too

Okay, so, at the moment the kids are, like, Schrödinger’s characters, at the same time part of every universe and none at all, because I ripped them off the original story they were born for and still haven’t gotten around to plotting something new

So we want them to be normal college students, we can have that! We want them to be the new team voltron? we can do that too! They’re at the same time elves and hobbits and just a bunch of teens trying to get by, explorers of every galaxy and mythological creatures, maybe Leo can actually be a ferret, whatever, everything’s valid atm - which is very freeing for me and it’s making me give them a lot of traits and trivia that in the end will be irrelevant, but it’s incredibly enjoyable nonetheless.

Of course, that means that as of now they have no actual age, nor race, nor anything that would set them in a definite universe in a set time, but I’ll get to that next ask

As for why Leo and Josh train, that comes from the original story, in which they were soldiers of a sort. Leo used to be a really good close range fighter, which turned into him being really good with throwin kicks and punches as a general character trait, and Josh used to be generally good in everything since his actual focus was magic, which turned into him being an all around athlete as a general character trait, and being kind of weirdly in tune with nature too. Max gets being really good at self-defence, because that was all he had learnt in the original story, and my boy Chris still keeps his admirable aiming skills from back when he was the group’s sharpshooter and bearer of a really big bazooka when he wasn’t feeling the precision rifle. Which was, like, most days. Good times.

Most of these things might still be a Thing once I settle on a proper story! I don’t know! I’m emotionally attached to those traits because that’s the way the kids were born, as fighters, but that really depends on where the story will bring me. Can’t wait to find that out! I’m having half a mind of keeping the traits but twisting it a bit... I’ll see

Okay first things first, I’m not exactly sure how to answer that Terushima/Chris part! Uhm, I guess I just generally enjoy that type of character? If we’re talking about the physical appearance, that’s actually the style I myself enjoy the most, so I’m kind of naturally drawn to them (Miya from HQ falls under this category too), but if you’re talking about the overly-enthusiastic, bright, positive personality I’m actually really. Really. Really into that type of character. That type of character is always between my faves.

If you’re asking me whether Chris came first or if it was my soft spot for those characters that brought me to give Chris life, I... literally have no clue. I’ve had Chris too long to remember why I made him like that - he kind of came to me that way? Sometimes with my OCs I feel more like they’re already there and I’m just putting them down on paper, which makes it hard to tell you the whys and hows of when they happened? This makes zero sense, I’m sorry

Anyway, as I mentioned in the previous answer, as of now the kids have no set universe so they don’t have any set nationality either - and the original story was set in a different universe, so no nationality there too. What I can tell you is that Leo has mediterranean traits, dark hair, dark eyes, fifty shades of skin colors depending on how much under the sun he’s been. I can tell you that Max is definitely caucasian, ginger with pale eyes, somewhere between green and blue, and that he burns fast. Josh’s hair is pale blond, his eyes a deep black, and somewhere in his family line many many races have mixed, but his skin is asian pale, if you need to give him a color. Chris’s hair is natually black and white, and so is Beth’s, but she’s always dyeing it. They have icy blue eyes, a lot of moles, and the color of their skin has changed through the years so many times that right now it has no canon. One day I’ll sit down and properly color them, and you’ll be able to decide where you want to put them~

In the original story Leo was the leader, more for an appointed role than actual position, though - back then Chris was the only one actually under him, the others just happened to be appointed to his group for the length of the story. Max loves Leo very dearly so he didn’t mind him being the leader, while Josh being Josh, he followed him only because he likes rules and order more than he likes being right. Imagine the most sarcastic way one can say the word boss, that was how Josh called Leo always.

that said, now the boys have no literal leader anymore, and even though Leo is still the mom-friend and the worrywart of the group, they work too much like a single organism to actually have always the same person taking the lead. It’s about situations and occasions, depending on the moment everyone has their time to shine.

then again, the sarcastic boss is still something Josh does. No one will ever take that away from him, I think

About the college/uni, let’s say that in a world where they are only people trying to get by they’d definitely frequent college/university. Aside from Leo. He’d probably try, and then decide that it’s really not for him, and then he’d start working everywhere and anywhere to see what actually does fit him.

Even keeping a normal-world setting, they’re all pretty firey kids, so the fighting question is actually hard to answer - Josh has a lot of anger and a lot of will to fight, so one would guess it’s him, but as I mentioned he likes order and he likes rules, and he doesn’t need people to know when he’s right as long as he himself knows, so probably not him. The thing is that as long as it’s about themselves they know how to walk away without getting involved, but if it’s about people they care about all of them are ready to break some bones. Max too. Angry Max is scary, and you don’t want to deal with him when he’s like that.

If they lived a life in which they had need for cars, they still wouldn’t have any - Josh moves solely on public transport, Leo has a motorbike, but he’s always so sleep deprived that he doesn’t trust himself on it more often than not, Chris insists that he can walk everywhere, he prefers his cars and bikes in front of him ready to be disassembled and put together again, thank you very much, and Max really, really, really wants a car. He also wishes he had the money for it, though.

No tattoos on any of them! Between freckles and moles and scars, they are marked enough as it is haha

The first one out of the group I put down when I was... thirteen? Which is eleven years ago, and that would be Leo! He had a different name and a stupid story and he was more of a comfort character than anything else (still is, really, all of them are), but it was him in all the important parts. Max was... eh, something like Max was born around the same time as Leo was, but he changed so many damn times and so much both in personality and appearance that it was between four and five years later that I managed to settle on him as he is right now. Between finding Leo and settling on Max, first Chris and then Josh were born too (pretty much at the same time, but Josh at first was really in Chris’ function, you can see it in the way a lot of his traits complement Chris’, and it was enough time before Josh was his own person that I can fairly say Chris came first). I was... between fifteen and sixteen when they came around, so nine or eight years ago. They’re old.

AKA OHH BOYYYY BUCKLE UP DDDDDDD:

001 -AsaDai

When I started shipping it if I did: Like how many episodes did it take for Asahi to appear? That’s when :D

My thoughts: HAPPY HAPPY FEELINGZ ALL AROUND T.T I ship this ship to the ends of the world and back and it’s both my second favorite pairing for Daichi and Asahi. Because my first favorite pairing for BOTH Daichi and Asahi is AsaDaiSuga and I would die for all of these boys.

What makes me happy about them: That they exist??? Okay, so basically I love how insanely and completely Daichi trusts Asahi and how much he relies on him. Like how there seems to be 0 doubts in his head about Asahi backing him up and holding his ground in his stead and of course we mostly see that during games, but since this is a sports anime games are pretty good parallels for their everyday relationship. Asahi is a safety net for Daichi and when at the beginning he was trying so hard to get him to come back, I believe that was as much for himself as it was for the team - like for Daichi to function as well as a captain as he does, he needs to know that Asahi is there having his back, mentally and sometimes physically. Re: when he had to leave bc of his injury. Daichi puts on the bravest and strongest and most driven front for his team but we know that sometimes hes afraid and has doubts and I believe Asahi is amongst the few that are aware of that and are able to give some strength back to him.

As for Asahi, well, it goes without saying that when you are constantly viewed as one thing while being totally different (re: big scary guy vs actual baby kitten), when you constantly doubt yourself and try your damned hardest to overcome those doubts and fears, having someone trusting you and treasuring you unconditionally can save your life. I believe that Daichi loving and cherishing Asahi (either as just a friend or a lover) is a constant source of confidence and willpower for him, especially since he clearly looks up to Daichi in a way. (As does everyone and rightfully so).

TL;DR: It makes me happier than anything how SUPPORTIVE they are for each other, how much they can mutually rely on each other and overall how everything in their relationship seems to be built on mutual and unquestioned trust and love and respect, which in turn makes them both stronger as individuals.

What makes me sad about them: I’ve seen in mentioned multiple times that Daichi goes to Tokyo and Asahi doesn’t?!?!? And I don’t want them to separate?!?! :(((((((( Also the lack of AsaDai random interaction content : DDD

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: THE FACT THAT THE TAG HAS ABOUT 50 FICS?!? Like honestly I’m not gonna get annoyed because characterisation is the freedom of the artist, but I personally don’t enjoy reading about Asahi as this fragile and shy and insecure quasi-princess character. Sure he is mentally fragile sometimes and he gets shy and insecure sometimes, but he is also a strong-minded person, an ace of all positions, and he fights to overcome his fear of challenge and failure so hard. Don’t erase that part of him. Similarly, I don’t really like overconfident and insensitive Daichi either.

Things I look for in fanfic: basically existence? Xd mutual support and love and lots of caring for each other and just silly boys in love :D but then again I look for that in all fics soooo yeah.

Who I’d be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: basically all 4 of the 3rd years (so them and Sugawara and Shimizu) I’d love and support and cherish if they ended up together in any pairing. Other than that I haven’t given it much thought yet I guess? I just want them to be happy T.T

My happily ever after for them: I want Daichi to eventually get a job where he can keep on being a leader/teacher, maybe even a coach later, and before that, play in a uni team for a while maybe too… but I guess I can’t see either of them as Big City Men running around with briefcases. Maybe join one of those neighborhood volleyball teams together for fun… I’d love for Asahi to have his own little something, like a flower shop or a little craft store something equally pretty and cheesy, and Daichi helps out when he’s not coaching/teaching and its the ultimate soothing bliss for him, just arranging bouquets with Asahi, not really talking just being together, enjoying the quiet and the flowers and the company… and living like that until they’re both 200….

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: generally Daichi is the big spoon because even though Asahi is bigger, Daichi is just one of those people BORN TO BE the big spoon. Perfect husband spoon material… but then there would of course be times when he’d just curl up and let Asahi envelope him in warmth and safety and peace.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity: lots of outdoor activities, like hiking and biking and camping? Things where you don’t have to talk a lot to enjoy it, but if you want to, you can have the deepest/ most open conversations without feeling embarrassed. They’d go on these 1 night camping trips, hike somewhere with their stuff on their backs, discover little hidden streams or views from mountaintop, collect wood, build a little fire in front of the tent, watch the stars, talk about memories and future plans, dreams and fears, without having to feel awkward about being honest and vulnerable.

002 - Yamaguchi Tadashi

How I feel about this character: I WILL PROTECT AND LOVE HIM UNTIL THE DAY I DIE AND THEN MY GHOST WILL FLOAT AROUND WHISPERING INTO PEOPLE’S EARS: LOVE YAMAGUCHI

All the people I ship romantically with this character: There isn’t actually that many… YamaYachi is super sweet and lovely, and TsukkiYama is also sweet in its own extremely codependent and childish way :)) I haven’t honestly seen many Yamaguchi ships but basically anyone would be luck af to have Yamaguchi so, yeah.

My non-romantic OTP about this character: I LOVE LOVE LOVE how Shimada teaches him and helps him and believes in him and cheers for him, I love their relationship so muchhhhhhhhhhhhh also I generally see him and Tsukki as a BROTP rather than a couple but yeah that’s a whole different story :))

My unpopular opinion about this character: He is one of the strongest willed characters imo, because he’s technically the least talented and he gets nervous and misses a lot at first but instead of just quitting he struggles to keep up with the team. I was like that once (except I was not simply the least talented I basically sucked xdd) and tho I loved volleyball, I just quit because I hated staying while knowing that I’m the least useful member of the team. Idk what counts as an unpopular opinion since I haven’t read that many posts about him, but it’s certainly a very important one for me.

One thing I wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: the whole stadium cheering and shouting his name as he gets 10 consecutive no-touch ace points in? :D Oikawa saying that he’s great at serving? Tsukki hugging him and telling him how important his friendship is to him and how much he cares about him? Like, i know i know that THEY BOTH KNOW IT and like tsukki doesn’t have to SAY it for Yamaguchi to know, but I still want him to xd oooops that’s not one thing xd

My OTP: uhhh idkkkk as i said i havent seen that many pairings but out of the ones i saw its the TsukkiYama BROTP. Like if i had to choose one relationship with him and someone else that i love more than the others.

My crossover ship:… SO MANY FANDOMS TO CHOOSE FROMMMMMM but just. Limiting it to the few animes I’ve been watching recently (Shingeki no Kyojin amd Free)… he reminds me of Marco, kinda, so maybe Jean/Yamaguchi… AND ALSO CONSIDER: SMALL FRECKLED ANGEL YAMAGUCHI AND GIANT SOFT ANGEL MAKOTO. ALL THE ANGELS ALL THE SOFT.

One headcanon fact: one stolen (from @topftopf ’s BokuAkaKuuroTsukki series, aka the If You Read One Haikyuu Fic Series Then Make It This One as i like to call it): Yamaguchi grows out his hair, gets some tattoos and a bike, and he’s basically The Dream Guy. Hottest, Sweetest, Nicest, COOLEST by all standards. Get yourself a Yamaguchi. And one original: sometimes when he just Cant Deal™ with Tsukki’s shit, he’d go to Yachi and BICH freely about how his best friend is insufferable because Yachi will always listen to him but would never say it back to anyone or hold it against Tsukki and Yamaguchi is always careful around others since everyone talks shit about Tsukki and he wants them all to see and love him as he does, rather than how Tsukki wants to seem. This later develops into free bitching sessions with the two of them where they can let out all their frustration about other people that they’d never say out loud to anyone else. (Like Yachi about her mom, or stupid first year boys that keep obnoxiously trying to flirt with her…)
