now i've watched a fair amount of d&d i've started to pick up on the differences between dm style i think

like brennan IS all the bad guys. every game he dms is brennan vs the players. he makes npcs and battles that make his friends throw things at him and he smirks the whole time. he makes them tell him their worst fears and then he makes them do it. and it's awful and amazing and really funny

matt IS exandria. his characters and battles never feel written or constructed, they just feel like things that already existed in the world. it's all about verisimilitude with him, and he's amazing at it. he tends to fade into the background and let the players react to the story and it makes everything he does incredibly cinematic

aabria dms like she's just another player at the table reacting to the story, right up until someone gets lulled into a false sense of security and tries to fool around and THEN she throws a curveball by making them deal with the consequences of their choices. she's like oh you think that's funny?? then i'm about to be hilarious, bitch. and she keeps getting away with it bc she's just that good!

basically, brennan's an evil bastard, matt's the world, and aabria's the queen of consequences

I wished to indulge, so I commissioned one of my favorite artists in the fandom @spectra-bear to do a sketch of Replica Donnie and Casey Jr. Just look at them! I’m still crying! Azzy did such an amazing job! Can’t wait to let these two get some time together in the comic, at least via Omega! People ask me if Donnie will even have an impact on Casey like he has in Cass' timeline and I can assure you, the impact will be there.

Azzy is doing commissions again as of posting this so I highly recommend getting one while you can. Quality art!

But he is lying through his ass because worms are slimy and gross and if you turned into one he would try to pick you up for five minutes and then when he works up the courage to actually do so he would scream and drop you because you started wiggling and then you would fall to your death.

Isagi: (takes two hours to think about the logic and reality of raising a worm lover before replying) yes :) ofc! (Has nightmares about taking care of a worm. Can you still communicate with him? Are you a human in a worm body? Do you have a worm lifespan or a human one? What if you forget him and leave him for another worm?)

Bachira: Worms are cool!!!! He would be a worm with you :3 !!!! But if you turned into a worm and he didn’t then he would misplace you after about thirty minutes and then accidentally squish you because he wasn’t looking. Rip worm you.

Reo: Yes. Absolutely. He would buy a nice enclosure for you with lots of dirt and premium worm food and imported vegetation and he would put you next to his bed and greet you every morning and hire top expert worm researchers so he can take care of you (he thought about buying a garden for you to live in but gets paranoid that you’ll run away and he won’t be able to find you).

Nagi: Actually has the audacity to tell you that he would prefer you as a worm because worms are easier to take care of than humans.

Ness: He would literally worship worm you. He would spend all of his paycheck on buying you nice worm things and carry you around in a little jar in his bag and start screaming if anyone tried to touch you. He says unironic shit like “i would die for you so you could use my corpse as worm nutrients :)”

Kaiser: Super pissed at the idea of you being a worm. What the fuck. How is he going to kiss you now? He is NOT bringing his lips anywhere near a slimy, wriggling creature. This is inconvenient and very weird. He would demand for you to turn back into a human or he will break up with you (you have to remind him this is a hypothetical situation).

Sometimes I go to reblog a post with a counter opinion but then I realize that it is not worth it and people will continue to interpret media the way they want until the end of time and i should just make my own post.

Anyways I do think it's important to remember that they film these seasons in quick succession. The PCs have not had 5 months to grow attached to the NPCs like the audience has. It's been like 2 weeks for them. Also yall are acting like this was the finale. The season isn't over until it's over, we still don't know what will happen. They could lose for all we know, Brennan has been prepared for that in past seasons.

#also i get trying to not look at this meta wise #but its hard when you are the one playing the game #like oh i didnt realize what the dm said until it was clarified or else i would have done something different or vice versa #anyways i do think it's a little rude to take everything in bad faith because a pc doesn't like your favorite npc #or isn't interested in their backstory or motivations #thats just the risk you take when you write npcs to DM #you put a lot of effort into them only for the PCs to never interact with them #i mean ivey was pretty much irrelevant the whole season because the PCs did not interact with her #ive only dmed once and even i get the pain of npcs getting ignored #fhjy #fantasy high junior year #d20 #dimension 20
