Lyon - ASSE Pregame Thoughts
It's always interesting to me when people talk about Lyon - ASSE as though it is some sort of rivalry because while I will concede you should only wear green in London, the results don't really justify it as a proper "rivalry". For me Lyon - ASSE is on the same level as I guess Barcelona / RM, Chelsea / West Ham (I say, as though I find the WSL of any type of interest), that sort of thing - yeah in principle I get it, but the reality is the calibre of the two teams are completely different.
A proper rivalry isn't just about beating the other team, it's about seeing a part of yourself in them and that is what makes you recoil in horror. Barcelona - RM (fem) just can't be considered a proper rivalry because the reality is RM is just too new as a team. I don't think you can really consider it a Clasico in the way that Lyon - PSG is, or a clash of egos as is Chelsea - Arsenal. Lyon - Barcelona isn't even a Clasico in my sense of the term because Lyon has always beaten Barcelona, and the inferiority complex Barcelona displays when playing Lyon outweighs any real sense of bad blood.
What I am saying, if we're talking rivalry, there has to be a proper sense of bad blood. There has to be history but it cannot be one-sided. They have to be equal in some shape or form. Monsters recognize monsters for a reason.
And ASSE is not a monster.
Well, at least in theory.
In practice it's a bit more complicated, and that's why I am a bit puzzled at people saying that this game is going to be a walkover. Games against ASSE go one of two ways: Lyon stomps all over them or it is their worst performance of the season. There is no in between.
Some of it has to do with ASSE's block: they basically park the bus in front of goal and pray they can hold out as long as possible. And sometimes it works! People seem to have quite the selective memory and forget that Lyon drew 1-1 against ASSE in the 2021-2022 season, and just recently PSG only beat ASSE 1-0. (Does that mean that Man Utd is only as good as newly promoted D1 team? Food for thought)
The point is, ASSE knows how to get the job done, even if it's in an extremely ugly manner. Park the bus long enough, pray hard enough, and eventually frustration will get the better of any team.
But. But ASSE's coach still basically begged Bompastor to field her strongest lineup, and the team selected for this game is basically as strong as it will get with the exception of Cascarino still being out due to injury. This is Lyon's heavyweights, which were missing in the 1-1 draw in 2021-2022.
But will Lyon's fire power be enough to break down ASSE's renown block? That's something I am a little bit more on the fence about. Lyon relies a lot on quick passing and intuitive decision making. Know what you want to do out of sheer muscle memory. The problem is when you can't execute because there is no space to pass to. If ASSE park the bus, as they are known to do, then it will affect Lyon's style of play.
I'm also curious about whom Bompastor puts as the No. 10. So far this season her decision-making has been predictable: van de Donk gets the high-intensity games, Marozsan gets the quieter games.
So which one is the ASSE game? Realistically, it's a bit of both. To keep the pressure on Paris FC's goal difference this needs to be a high intensity game; with ASSE's block the way it is, it's not going to be. Marozsan is the better playmaker in the traditional sense of the term but van de Donk will get the job done, albeit in unconventional manners sometimes.
So it'll be interesting to see how this game plays out. There's an incentive for Lyon to come out and flex, as they are known to do when feeling particularly vexed, but ASSE's history speaks for itself, even if it only in the history books.

— September got off to an amazing start. A 0-1 win away at Chelsea. It was backs against the wall stuff with Worrall and McKenna having really good games. These two get a fair bit of criticism from the fans and I can see why. When they play together in central defense there is always a mistake waiting to happen. I don't believe they are Forest's strongest defensive pairing but I'm not one to lay into them when it goes wrong. Full credit to them on this day. Awoniyi and Elanga combined to get the goal. Awoniyi is off to an incredible start. Having a hand in every goal Forest have scored this season so far. Great to see Elanga doing so well too. He took the goal really well from a great pass but he also embarrassed a few Chelsea players too with his skill. It's a shame the international break had to come after this game. As I think without the break the confidence would have rolled into the next home game and seen a better performance from Forest against Burnley. Burnley are not a bad side. They played well and went 1-0 up but new signing Hudson-Odoi, who had been threatening all night, came through with and absolute class goal, bending it in off the post from 20 yards out. You have to be a bit disappointed with the result though along with the debuts of Montiel and Sangare. Montiel had an incredibly hard time against Koleosho and was eventually taken off. Montiel left too many gaps going forward and was exposed against Koleosho pace and skill. Sangare was just a bit off the pace. It's going to happen. Danilo was the same last season and it takes a bit of time to adjust. On to Man City away. Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City in the first 4 away games. So tough but Forest had acquitted themselves well so far... By 15mins into this game all the Forest fans were fearing the worst. 2-0 down and Man City just cruising. A repeat of last season was on the cards. Cooper had made significant changes. 5 man defense Of Aina, Boly, Niakhate, Aurier and Tavares and a debut for Dominguez in a very defensive midfield with Sangare and Mangala. Gibbs-White and Awoniyi our only attacking players. You can understand this selection. Man City are so good. I believe they're the best team in the world right now and even if you don't they have to be in your top 3. There just Isn't a weak link the side. Forest dug in though and kept it to 2-0 until half time. A minute after the restart Rodri was sent off for violent conduct. It seemed harsh to be fair but the directives are clear and a hand to the throat is violent conduct so the ref had no choice. I wasn't complaining. The game swung in Forests favor and Cooper started throwing on more attacking players sensing the change. Hudson-Odoi and Elanga came on and chances were being created but with poor end product. It was good to see Forest push to the end again and but for a really good save Elanga could have had another goal. I'm not a defeatist but I did not expect a Forest win or even a draw. I hoped they would keep the score respectable and show some fight. And thats how it turned out. 2-0 at the final whistle. —— On a separate note there were 3 more outgoings in September. Giulian Biancone > Olympiacos — Undisclosed Jonjo Shelvey > Rizespor — Loan Emmanuel Dennis > Istanbul Başakşehir Jonjo Shelvey will not be missed but it's shame Biancone never got a real chance at Forest due to his injury. I'm hoping Dennis has a decent season. He's not a Cooper player so it would be good to get a decent transfer fee for him come the end of the season. Thats 28 players that were at the club last season that aren't at it now. If I'm being honest, only Brennan will be missed but with Hudson-Odoi and Elanga doing so well it's hard to even miss him right now. The quality of this squad compared to last season is a big leap forward in my opinion. Cooper should get the time to get them up to speed and the results will come.

I think you know Matthäus, he's a former player who also played for inter. He said this
Despite all the love I have for my former club, I have to say that going from Bayern to Inter would not be an upgrade at the moment. Even though Inter played a great last season, made it into the Champions League final and won the cup, Bayern is the bigger number in Europe. But he (Pavard) wants to play at centre-back in the long run. He has shown that he's very good at it.
I can understand him a bit. They didn't use him as much at centre-back as he would have liked and they won't let him go without a replacement. He was always a reliable, good Bayern player with impeccable character. I also didn't quite understand why they let Stanišić go and are now looking for a replacement for Pavard
I think this makes more sense than what other reporters and commentators like plettenberg have said. oh you're very welcome
I know Lothar! my baba is very attached to early 90s inter because it was around the time he moved here :))
The way he expressed this was at least more reasonable, yeah. Imagine witnessing a bunch of players in their primes going to saudi this summer but drawing the line at pavard moving from bayern to inter? lol a "where's you hunger" moment for someone who made a sporting choice and he's going to play in a beautiful stadium and a strong league, great football in a solid team. O. K. is this some post 2010 ucl final bias against inter or lol
also comparing clubs this way is utter bullshit. You can do that on an absolute level perhaps but then you have actual games and actual players, and actual players don't make choices on absolutes, they make choices based on what's good for them.
so how's inter not good for him lol he plays cb as he wants here, in a 3 back system which is the most ideal fit for him. I think, as bastoni on the other side, he will compliment inter's style of play at fullest as rcb. I've been digging up a lot on his skills these days in my free time and I can see why inter wanted him. he's 27, in his prime but as he gets older it makes sense for him to settle for the football he wants now. and how long has he been playing in bundesliga like 7 years? and won everything with bayern in the last years. Serie a is competitive and if he wanted a place where he's a starter and fans adore him inter is such a fit for him so. even better than man utd if you put everything in context. It's not a comparison about clubs, it's a sporting choice about the player. imagine being more obsessed by sporting choices than money choices lol.

Maybe smaller fields were the reason because??? Or maybe they didn't know how to defend back then (some defenders still aren't sure what their role is 👿) it's so funny with Borussia sjsvahahsjshsjsjs
Weirder shit happened so Ancelotti couching Brazil wouldn't surprise me. If Zidane wanted to stay in France then I'd have to respect it, you're right him leading PSG would be hilarious, but I want him back </3
It was serious for Ronaldo lmao, they should've just fought outside the stadium tbh
Arsenal vs Man Utd was jshsushsjwjsusjs Arsenal shooting 25 times and MU only 6?! Winning 3:2, only losing one game so far and only 2 draws? I'm really living in a different reality rn. Heeeeey why do you want me to suffer? Maybe I'll see Arsenal achieve something in CL too 😭😭😭 Chelsea and Liverpool stand up wtf, it's a bit funny ngl
Yeah the vibes definitely off... good riddance then, this is so fucked. Busquets go away challenge
Also William and Harry are very different so that's important to consider, maybe Charles and Harry just aren't compatible as people, both Charles and Will are more robotic to me skshsjhsjshsavavsnja
NCT's concerts are big strip clubs tbh 😭😅 A BIT overpriced if you ask me... SM needs to stop being a monster of capitalism for one second. Literally what I thought about when the Lisa contract thing came out, they're going the football route.
Right what were they thinking making GOT perform their song weeks before the release??? Most people watch that performance since the MV is just boring. Maybe Girls on Top need more appearances, have variety shows like SuperM, idk DO SOMETHING or end this shitshow
Welcome to the Go Eunhyuk simp nation! 🤌🏻❤

same english football fan here! ty for your answer - v rare that i get to talk with someone who both enjoys football and cares to engage with the context of wider issues in & around the game… i relish the opportunity lol
100% agree about the impact of ‘99 team. i’d say it bled out beyond creating this stagnant image of what the uswnt ‘should’ look like into football more generally. i grew up playing & ‘lesbian’ was one of the worst insults on the pitch - you could see people actively leaning into this hyper-feminine presentation to avoid it (like with tobin…). definitely fucked with my little gay brain, a sport i love subconsciously teaching me i was an insult…
i don’t enjoy alex as a player. at all. some set ups definitely need the player to draw fouls, slow it down etc but i don’t think she’s good enough outside of that? (espec not if you’re going to sideline christen lol) idk comparing her to someone like grealish in eng men - can play a false 9, drawing fouls is a major part of his game but he’s almost stupidly creative on & off the ball. lbr alex’s face fit for the old guard scared of changing dynamics & it’s perhaps kept her more centralised than her talents deserve? (i’m also a bit bitter at her 6 month training holiday at spurs as a former spurs player lol)
could spend pages on christen. watching her play for man utd was a delight - the shift she puts in off the ball, can tell she is someone who gets the game on a fundamental level and reads patterns, not just good w the ball at her feet. agh, so much of your response i haven’t even mentioned - i may return for more football chat lol
first of all i would be remiss to not be like holy shit congrats on playing w spurs?? badass !!
also yah i think that their impact changed women's football in general for sure, but also women's sport more broadly & even just body image for DFAB ppl in general. that sounds like a rly wild claim but i think if we look at diet culture & how the "ideal body type" for women rly started to become a little more "athletic" in the early 90s (e.g., britney spears!) it's impossible to look past brandi chastain's iconic image. & its odd bc that actually has nothing to do with the uswnt itself but it was at the time of this rampant like low-fat, low-carb diet culture rise (i'm sure we all remember the horrifying 100 calorie packs). i think about this, like, every day lol like it’s ok to perform some kind of masculinity (eg sport, muscles, streetwear etc) as long as ur thin, white, wealthy, family-oriented, patriotic, christian, able-bodied, neurotypical, straight, etc etc. it’s just so anti-Black at its core in clear service of the state. i think of it in light of a radical fat politic now & especially during the olympics when its like becoming more & more clear that the surveillance of Black & brown queer femme bodies is more apparent in sport than ever ... the uswnt has this standard that is tied to class & performance & race & sexuality etc. anyway that's a lot but... i rly do think it's true
it's odd too, i think football afforded me the opportunity to perform or present androgyny in a way that my conservative christian family & community deemed okay bc i was just a "tomboy" or, the even more respectable, "an athlete." for me i found an incredible amount of quiet freedom on the field bc of that, even tho i couldn't name it at the time. as i got older i too leaned into trying to be feminine (like tobin) in a way that was just so horrifically dysphoric for me. tobin being a huge homo now is like... soothing lmao like yah babey me too!!
anyway abt football i too don't think alex is great. sure she's scored a lot of goals but like ........ she isn't a wonderful player? i don't love comparing women to men players just bc the game is different in (the best) ways for women but even comparing alex to sinc or viv like... she's boring at best? that's what i could say about her as a player lol. as a person i think she's a democrat so like white women approve of her but she's also so diluted in any opinion that conservatives think she's fine. which is also gross lol
(don’t get me started on how “equal pay” as a crusade without any discussion of a radical, intersectional politic misses the mark so terribly its not even on the same planet but ... )
cp puts on defensive shifts off the ball that are... absolutely nuts. watching her play is truly beautiful bc i don't think anyone in the world plays like her. she's so smart & sees like 20 plays ahead, her finishing is beyond. it's fun to watch her play with tobin honestly bc i think their vision & workrates are so similar but their styles of play are so different (in a fun way tbc lol). i wish we could know what 1v1 days look like at their house lol
anyway pls message me abt football et al anytime!! (if u wanna connect off anon lmk)

It was really funny at the end where viv sprinted back to help defend a counter attack. It left everyone else looking a little lost when they got the ball back and didn't see viv up top waiting for the ball
Loved that - she was determined they weren’t losing this game!
It is funny though, fairly often in matches you’ll see Viv drop back either to cover or to get on the ball. The problem though is that you really want her to be up near the goal! It’s never a good sign when you look at the screen and spot her in the backline like at one point in (I think) the Utd game.
It really frustrates me when people say she doesn’t do anything for most of a game then pops up with a goal etc. She does so much more than people give her credit for, whether it’s drawing defenders away, dropping into midfield/onto the wing, or running back to help defend. It just so happens that she also needs to be up top a lot so if they get the ball to her she can try to score, so in games when the midfield isn’t doing well/she’s not getting much service people seem to think she disappears.
I particularly enjoy watching Viv play in person - you see so much more of what she does when you’re in the stands than on TV. I’ve noticed a few times when I’ve watched a game back after being at the stadium and a lot of the work she does isn’t as obvious, partly because if it’s off the ball work it’s not mentioned by the commentators so your attention is drawn to other things. God I miss going to games...

So can i ask for one w/Bruno please. Basically they’ve only just started dating but her ex is another footballer (can be whoever). United play them in a final and the guy and Bruno are constantly like having pops at each other. At half time, she’s pretty annoyed because she thinks she could have got hurt or booked or something and he says it’s because he loves her he doesn’t want to hear people talk about her. he scores the winning goal in the next half and they have a cute lil celebration on the pitch after Utd win? Thank uuuu xo
You’re mine
It was your first match of his you were going to watch live and you couldn’t wait especially at the fact it was at one of your fav stadiums. Although you were a London gal and your local team was Spurs, you always had a soft spot for the Old Trafford Stadium, loving the atmosphere it brought and the fans it carried. Saying that, your family were indeed strict Tottenham supporters and you were basically forced to support them from a young age, going to most games both home and away, and I mean you enjoyed it and all but you weren’t really arsed about seeing them play the older you got. Oh and they were even more over the moon when they found out you were dating the one and only Harry Winks. You’ll admit the two of you had a good run of a couple years, but like all good things, it came to an end after one night you walked in to find another woman in your bed and I’ll let you take a guess at what they were doing.
—————————————
A year later and here you are, living the Manchester life with a new job and boyfriend who you met in a classy bar one night, the rest being history, and also happened to be a footballer. You swore after Harry you’d never fall for another well known fella, wanting to stay out the public eye, but there was just something about Bruno you couldn’t resist, he really was the definition of a perfect gentleman and husband material. Anyways, you were currently sat in the stands with a few of the other footballer’s wives waiting for the game to begin in a few mins, and you being you didn’t look at the tickets properly so you had no idea who Man Utd were playing in the final game of the season, well that was until you caught glimpse of a face you hoped you’d never see again. Yes, of course they had to be the big Tottenham Hotspur on the last day, at your first game and by god you were shitting yourself about it, wondering how both men were going to be able to keep it together for a whole 90mins. Obviously Bruno knew about you and winks and constantly went on about how he couldn’t wait to play against him and seeing that they were both midfielders, they’d be on top of each other most game, which was going to be a problem.
The first half was decent, both teams two all, so it was all to play for in the next 45mins, Man Utd clearly being the stand out team out the two. Bruno managed to slip out the dressing room a few minutes before kick off to come see you at the bottom of the stands, him wrapping his arms around your waist and bringing you closer, smothering you with kisses which wasn’t unnatural for him and you would’ve been all over him usually, but after you soon realised the stares from Harry who was just across the pitch, it was obvious what he was trying to achieve with this. You shoved him away, one for acting like a jealous kid and two for the fact he’d got booked and multiple warnings through the first half, almost getting a red after just 20 mins played. “I know what you’re trying to do so quit it” you said, annoyed, lightly smacking his chest as he smirked, “what I’m just showing everyone who you belong too” he replied as you let out a small grin, unable to stay mad at him for a long time. “Look just knock it off alright, get through this next half without anymore random scraps with old lover boy over there because I can’t have you getting sent off for my first game watching you here now can I” you scolded, well tried to, your soft voice doing you no favours in trying to create a harsh tone. He nodded sadly before letting go and making his way back onto the field, “oh and get me a goal” you shouted to him, winking, those being your last words as the whilst blew once again.
If you thought the first half was exciting then you should’ve seen the second one, Spurs’ Kane putting a goal away in the first few mins, followed by a mistake from Lloris which gave Rashford the perfect opportunity to smash the ball into the back of the net. So by the 89th minute it was a level 3-3 and the way it was looking, it was going to end in a draw at the Manchester Stadium, that was until the ball landed at Bruno’s feet and he had a screamer of a goal, curving into the top corner no bother. You and everyone else darted up out your seats and began cheering as the final whistle went, the entire stadium going mad and roaring with atmosphere as you rushed down to the pitch, hopping over the barrier and running into his arms, his sticky, sweaty body gripping you as he pulled you in for the biggest kiss, you resisting at first not wanting really wanting a crowd of 70 thousand to see you both. He couldn’t care less though, grabbing your thighs and lifting you up, wrapping your legs around his lower back, before going in for another deep kiss, “I’ve told you, I have to show everyone you’re mine” he spoke breathlessly in between you’re lips colliding against one another’s. “Yeah, I mean show me off as much as you like” you joked, flicking your hair back, “you did get me my goal too, the winning one” you whispered in his ear before gently biting his neck, letting a small moan of appreciation whilst doing so. “Think we should continue this at home don’t you, give me a little treat for my performance eh” he asked, as you nodded, quickly jogging off the pitch, not wanting to waste time, the two of you hand in hand passing by a jealous looking Harry to which Bruno made a big thing of, giving your bum a little pinch and saying some rather dirty things to you just loud enough to earn a glare from your ex lover ❤️

— November was a good month for Forest. After the drubbing by Arsenal, who continue their fine form this season, Forest picked up a good result against Brentford. They battled in to injury time for the 2-2 draw. It was good to see Morgan Gibbs-White get on the score sheet. The next game was against Spurs in the League Cup. They put out a strong side but Forest were more than equal to it. Putting in a great performance winning 2-0 with a corker from Lodi and Jesse Lingard finally looking like a decent player that we all hoped he’d be at the club. This win was followed up by a 1-0 win in the league against a good Palace side. The team finally looks like they are starting to get used to one another. People were worried that the World Cup break might interfere with this form but a League Cup game against Blackburn in the first match back and Forest smashed them 4-1. That made it 3 wins on the bounce. The next game however, was against Man Utd and they waltzed to a pretty easy 3-0 win... Back to everybody getting on at the players for not being good enough. To be fair there is something lacking in our away performances but even still, I think expecting a result at Old Trafford is a bit hopeful. They aren’t the dominant force they once were but you'd swap with what they have wouldn’t you?  I think perspective is needed from fans for this season. Forest have changed pretty much their entire squad (because they had to). This squad, even after spending 150M, is still only a quarter of the cost of the bigger clubs who have had pretty much the last 20 odd years to create a generation of wealth for themselves that we are only just seeing now. The more I think about this season the more grateful I am Forest are in the Prem. It's going to be horrible viewing at times but look at where Huddersfield are right now. Last seasons beaten play off finalists are bottom of the Championship. They lost their manager and players that helped them finish 3rd. (To compound their misery Forest have 2 of their outstanding performers from last season). I’m convinced Forest would be in a similar situation if they didn’t get promoted. We’d have lost a load of players and probably the manager too as well. This season we don’t have to be better than the top 6, we don’t have to be better than the top 10 or 15 even. We just have to be better than the bottom 3 at the end. Looking at Southampton, Everton, Wolves, West Ham, Leics and Bournemouth I think we can be better than 3 of them. I can guarantee that the fans of those clubs are saying the exact same thing about their players not being good enough. The difference is their players have been together for a while and Bournemouth apart have had the benefit of many years in the Premier League. Given a bit more time I believe these Forest players are not as bad as everybody thinks. For the last two seasons fans were giving Ryan Yates so much shit. This season, in the Prem, he’s really kicked on. Sure he’s not Roy Keane... But then again who is?

Arsenal 1-3 Manchester United Analysis - Solskjaer Continues to Impress
Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Cech; Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Koscielny, Kolasinac; Torreira, Xhaka; Aubameyang, Ramsey, Iwobi; Lacazette
Man Utd (4-3-1-2): Romero; Young, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw; Herrera, Matic, Pogba; Lingard; Lukaku, Sanchez
Tumblr media
Both teams were at close to full strength, fielding around eight first-teamers each and a couple of fringe players including their excellent respective backup goalkeepers. Manchester United used this opportunity to give the likes of Alexis Sanchez & Romelu Lukaku a chance, who had both been marginalised recently, and both took their chance to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a selection headache in the coming weeks. Both managers have a decent incentive to win the FA cup; it would help Solskjaer’s case for a permanent stay at United to win a cup, and Unai Emery is under some pressure to match Arsene Wenger’s recent success in the competition.
Jesse Lingard played centrally in a fluid 4-3-1-2 formation for United, which was the same approach Solskjaer took to their recent game at Tottenham, and Lingard would be key to the victory on this occasion too. Arsenal struggled to mark three central attackers, with him playing close to Lukaku and Sanchez in centre forward roles, and Pogba surged forward from midfield to join them when possible. This tactic is reminiscent of Alex Ferguson’s use of Ji-Sung Park in key games. Park was a hard working winger like Lingard but would play centrally in these games to harrass the opponent’s deep lying playmaker and knock them off their rhythm. Arsenal dont really play a deep playmaker - Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka are more functional, combative players, but Lingard caused a 4 v 3 overload in midfield and Arsenal’s centre backs didnt pick him up either.
The opening goal for Sanchez came from good play from Lukaku. Lukaku withdrew slightly allowing Sanchez to take up the central striker position, and a nicely weighted through pass from Lukaku presented the Chilean with a one on one with Petr Cech which he duly dispatched. Had United played their normal formation, he very likely wouldnt have been able to get to this position as he would have probably started in a much wider role. The second goal followed very quickly, Lukaku led a counter attack down the right, Lingard was in his central position and made a good, subtle run inside the box to create space and time to take a touch before calmly slotting past Cech. The front three were very fluid in their positioning, happy to interchange to cause as much confusion in the Arsenal defence as possible.
The home side lacked an obvious strategy, mostly looking to play it wide and overload the opposition full backs who didnt have a winger in front of them to help defensively. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang predominantly played on the right, with he and Alexandre Lacazette interchanging sometimes, so one was always covering the wing to allow the other to maintain a central striking position. Aubameyang showed a good attitude and worked quite hard out wide, tracking back well, but Alex Iwobi on the opposite flank was more effective as a natural winger. Aubameyang, it goes without saying, is rather better being on the end of attacking moves.
Arsenal’s sole response would come through wing play though, Iwobi found Kolasinac on the overlap, who centred for Aubameyang, who had drifted inside and took up a good position for a simple finish. Arsenal could have benefitted from mimicking United’s formation, to a) get their strikers both in their natural positions, and b) to allow a midfielder to track Lingard. Aubameyang is incredibly pacy but lacks the end product to be an effective winger - in this formation he’s essentially just there to supplement Lacazette and allow Arsenal to play with width.
Lacazette switched to the right in the second half - he is more of a well rounded player but this might simply have been Emery trying to keep both players happy by each getting a stint as striker. This is a minor point but I was surprised Arsenal didnt swap their wide players around - theoretically right footers Aubameyang and Lacazette cutting in from left wing to shoot and Iwobi more naturally stretching play on right might have been more effective.
Arsenal lost both starting centre backs to injury and ended up with Xhaka playing at centre back, which is hardly ideal when up against a traditional number 9 like Lukaku who dominates arial battles and physical challenges.
Both players used a number 10 but neither were typical playmakers despite each having one at their disposal (Mesut Ozil and Juan Mata), so a lot of the big chances in the game came from simple counter attacks rather than clever passes. Arsenal introduced Ozil in the second half which was a welcome move, but in removing Iwobi they took off the only genuine wide threat - they could have made a more daring sub especially when in need of a goal.
It would be unfair to say United sat back as the second half went on, but they did take less risks to try to take the sting out of the game. Lukaku and Sanchez were withdrawn for Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who have started ahead of them in recent games, and the latter pair would be more effective with only 20 minutes to go for any counter attacks that presented themselves.
Ramsey didnt make much impact as the central playmaker, in contrast to the impressive Lingard. Emery appeared to agree, introducing Ozil after 64 minutes, who has been on the periphery at Arsenal for a while now. Ozil didnt do a great deal either unfortunately, understandably low on confidence perhaps.
A word for Ainsley Maitland-Niles who played at right back. He had a solid but unspectacular game, looks a decent fit in the role though and will likely be filling in there for the remainder of the season due to Lichsteiner’s advancing age and his struggles when he has played this season. Maitland-Niles was caught out for the decisive third goal for United as he was pushing up the pitch in search of a winner. Martial followed in a Pogba shot from distance for a simple finish, but Maitland-Niles wasnt really at fault - Pogba had dispossed Ramsey in the midfield with alarming ease and Arsenal were left with not enough numbers back in defence, not for the first time in the game. Arsenal’s midfield since the Ozil substitution looked muddled and lacking a real plan, possibly why Ramsey was dawdling with possession when Pogba took it from him.
The major conclusion to draw from this game is that with every game Solskjaer looks more and more like he should be given the manager’s job at Old Trafford on a full time basis. This was his second “tough test” after a relatively gentle start to his return to Manchester, and he passed with flying colours once again. He seems to have settled on a gameplan for games against other top teams, using Lingard in a central role; it will be interesting to see if he sticks with it, and if the likes of Manchester City or PSG can find a way to counteract it in their upcoming games. Arsenal were unlucky to receive two defensive injuries but were carved open too easily on several occasions, and failed to take real advantage of Manchester United’s lack of width given their slightly unusual formation. Emery needs to find an effective way to get the best out of his attacking players like Solskjaer has managed to do so far. It will be interesting to see how Mesut Ozil’s situation develops, with him unlikely to secure a move away from the Emirates this transfer window.

predictz all football predictions
predicting the outcome of a football match ahead of time can be tricky business especially when you consider some of the freak occurrences that happen just like last season when sheffield united went 2-0 ahead of man utd just into the second half before conceding three goals to then only draw three all in the 90th minute so in this week's upload i want to make you a deal you watch this video all the way to the end and i'll share with you the best statistical resource i've found for football prediction why that is which features you want to be using and how you want to be thinking about using them for the coming season by the end you'll have everything you need to spot up and coming trends way ahead of your friends so you can't definitely predict future 100 of  w88co.com the time that's just the truth however you can improve your prediction for future events by looking at past trends the more recent and relevant the information is the better so in this video i want to go through two main areas in play live information and pre and post match statistical analysis so info goal is the number one resource that i'm going to recommend here we'll put a link in the description down below it's only been around a few years but already it's way better than a lot of the other resources you'll find out there and of course it's free now they offer quite a lot on this site they've got in play live stats scores results uh individual statistics team statistics all sorts now we're going to go through the important ones in just a second but i want to suggest their most important feature is one that you can't actually see and that is that the whole site is built around scientific data modelling things like expected goals and factual information rather than opinion which is what you get a lot of elsewhere so first up then in play football predictions what do we need most of all well as i've already mentioned we need live and current information that's clearly laid out and updated as quickly as possible shot maps are perfect for this because they allow us to see what's been happening on pitch with some statistical value based on large data sets of what's previously already happened displayed in such a way that the naked eye can't actually see all within a few seconds of it happening on pitch now when you think about in play football prediction this is absolutely crucial because it gives you clear definable data that displays exactly what's happened it's black and white taking away that emotional element that can often get caught up in your own personal perception as you watch the game unfold now the easiest way to find value in a football match is to compare the current situation recent form with overall averages and trends from the past so for example if the average goal time for a particular team is 43 minutes into a match but the current match is still in play at 67 minutes and there hasn't yet been a goal but the in-play statistical data shows us the team is on form they're playing in line with their potential they've got the xg that is expected then it's fair to assume there's an increased chance of there being a goal soon making your in-play football prediction more accurate than it would have been at the start of the match now i'm sure you can appreciate that's quite a simple example but the important points are the comparison between the two and the factual data that's supplied to us instantly now if you're not familiar with xg then we've got a separate video about this on the youtube channel check it out we'll put that in the description down below too as it can be quite a complex topic in the short term it's not a perfect science just yet and it's improving all the time so it's an up and coming one to keep your eye on so next up let's take a look at pre-match football prediction and data over historical performances in the past but before we do i'd like to ask you a favor if you find this video useful or interesting please consider tapping the like button down below and subscribing for future updates now this part is absolute gold when it comes to picking the right matches for your predictions so pretty much football statistics play a heavy part in it following on from the previously mentioned xg it's important to mention the infogol also got xg fairness ratings which show you the difference between the representative xg score in a match and the actual score in the map it's not all about xg though because you can go back and look at any match in the past historically and see all of the data we're talking about possession attempts on target attempts off target block shots saves passes completed passes corners offsides fouls the whole lot and in addition all that information is stored in line with the current lineup so you can see that down the bottom of the page there another useful way to view the information is if you click on the team's name at the top there then you can see their previous historic performances against other alternate teams also you've got player information down the bottom so you've got player statistics on a personal player level to show you whether they're performing in line with their overall ability now the last couple of things i really want to show you are the slope graphs and heat maps so these relatively new additions that can really help you out with your pre-match prediction so first off slope graphs provide us with simulated league positions based on various data so first of all on the left you can see expected position this is based on points a team was expected to build up from their current season's performance so far in the middle you've got the actual current position being where they are right now and then on the right you've got the forecast position which is based on their current points underlying xg statistics and historical performance to then simulate results for their remaining games showing us where they're likely to be at the end of the season so as you can see that slope gives us a visual that shows us if they're currently under or over performing in line with their xg data looking at this one you can quite clearly see that southampton were actually underperforming compared to their expected data and forecast position now as you can appreciate it's quite hard to pinpoint an exact position as to where they should be so this is why we have the heat maps that show the uncertainty in the current forecast position on the slope graph it provides us with a range of accuracy based on probability the darker the plotted points are the more certain the team is to finish in that position and the lighter the less certain so for example in this one everton had an extremely high probability of coming seventh which is fair because they did that season whereas on the other hand man city were predicted to come between second and sixth and they came third now this shouldn't be used as a definitive conclusion for your pre-match football prediction but these tools do provide different ways to interpret large amounts of factual data that we wouldn't have able to do so previously in the past as a single person making your football predictions more accurate pre-game going into the future i hope they put in more features to display the time at which goals were scored so you can filter them as a group identifying where the average score times will be now if you're looking to improve your football prediction for the purpose of betting i'd advise watching this football betting strategy in the end screen here after you've liked this video

Premier League predictions 2021-22: BBC Sport pundits pick their top four
Premier League predictions 2021-22: BBC Sport pundits pick their top four
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Defending champions Manchester City have won the Premier League in three of the past four seasons – but can anyone stop them this time?
Manchester United were City’s nearest rivals last time out but finished 12 points back and have still not sustained a serious title bid since they were last champions in 2013.
Will United challenge for top spot until the end in 2021-22? How will Liverpool respond after their title defence imploded at the start of the year? Can Chelsea be contenders again domestically after conquering Europe? And will Leicester, Arsenal, Tottenham or anyone else break into the Champions League places?
We asked 20 BBC TV and radio pundits to pick their top four, with explanations for their selections.
Alan Shearer Chelsea Man City Man Utd Liverpool Fara Williams Chelsea Man City Man Utd Liverpool Sue Smith Chelsea Man City Man Utd Liverpool Chris Sutton Chelsea Man City Liverpool Man Utd Rachel Brown-Finnis Chelsea Man City Liverpool Man Utd Matthew Upson Chelsea Man City Liverpool Man Utd Rob Green Chelsea Liverpool Man City Man Utd Martin Keown Man City Chelsea Liverpool Man Utd Micah Richards Man City Chelsea Liverpool Man Utd Stephen Warnock Man City Chelsea Liverpool Man Utd Danny Murphy Man City Liverpool Chelsea Man Utd Mark Lawrenson Man City Liverpool Chelsea Man Utd Ashley Williams Man City Chelsea Man Utd Liverpool Clinton Morrison Man City Chelsea Man Utd Liverpool Michael Brown Man City Chelsea Man Utd Liverpool Pat Nevin Man City Chelsea Man Utd Liverpool Leon Osman Man City Chelsea Man Utd Liverpool Nedum Onuoha Man City Man Utd Liverpool Chelsea Lindsay Johnson Man City Man Utd Chelsea Liverpool Jermaine Beckford Man City Chelsea Man Utd Leicester
Five teams feature in the forecasted top fours, but only City, United and Chelsea feature in all 20.
In terms of who will win it, City are favourites, with 13 votes. Chelsea get seven, while the highest anyone thinks United or Liverpool will finish is second. The overall predicted ranking gives a similar outcome.
1. Man City 2. Chelsea 3. Man Utd 4. Liverpool 5. Leicester 72 pts 62 pts 33 pts 32 pts 1 pt
(using system of 4 pts for a 1st place, 3 pts for 2nd, 2 pts for 3rd and 1 pt for 4th)
Which transfer would affect three pundits’ title predictions?
The predictions were made on Thursday, 12 August, with just under three weeks to go before the transfer window closes on Tuesday, 31 August.
Alan Shearer: Some major signings have already happened, but there are more to come that will affect the title race. I’m expecting it to be much tighter at the top than last time, with four teams in with a chance of being champions, not just City and Chelsea.
Alan Shearer joins Ian Wright and Gary Lineker on Match of the Day this Saturday at 22:20 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website for highlights of seven Premier League games.
Chris Sutton: If Harry Kane goes to Manchester City, then he is the perfect fit for them and I would fancy them. If he doesn’t, I think Chelsea will nick it, because they are getting Romelu Lukaku. I don’t think City will win the title without signing a centre-forward. I know they won it last season largely playing without one, which was remarkable. I don’t see it happening again.
Matthew Upson: As things stand, I’d back Chelsea. It looks as if Lukaku is definitely going there, while things are very different with City and Kane – who knows if that will happen? It’s a big ask for them to win the league again without a new striker but, if they do get Kane, that turns that problem position into a massive positive – and I’d change my prediction.
Sue Smith: Chelsea will have massive confidence from winning the Champions League but if City can get Kane, then I’d put them on top instead.
Guardiola was a ‘massive factor’ in Grealish joining Man City
Pat Nevin: City have already added Jack Grealish, who is exactly the right player for them and there is the possibility of Kane, who is perfect too because he is so creative and adaptable. Arguably he’s the player that Pep tried to turn Sergio Aguero into, and I can’t think of many strikers so well suited to City’s style.
If they get him, they are big favourites. If they don’t, they are just marginal favourites.
Man City – ‘A team of Galacticos’
This is the sixth season running where Manchester City have featured in everyone’s forecasted top four. It’s also the fourth successive year where no-one thinks they will finish below second.
Micah Richards: It’s tougher than ever to call it this season but I am still going to say City, even if they don’t get Kane. John Stones has signed a new deal and, with him and Ruben Dias, the defence is sorted. When you look at their options in midfield and going forward, it’s just not fair on the other teams and, with the form that Raheem Sterling was in at the Euros, they still have to be favourites.
Micah Richards and Dion Dublin are the guests on Football Focus on BBC One and the BBC Sport website at 12:00 BST on Saturday.
Danny Murphy: My gut feeling is that City are going to be really difficult to knock off their perch. They and Liverpool will just about have the edge on everyone but not by much – the top four will be really tight.
Nedum Onuoha: I look at how good City were defensively last season and think they will be strong enough to win the title again. But I think this year will be the first time in a while where there will be more than two teams in with a shout at the very end. City have made an excellent signing in Grealish but their rivals have strengthened well too.
Jermaine Beckford: They are so powerful. Stones and Dias have formed a brilliant relationship and City don’t really have a weakness any more.
Michael Brown: My only doubt is if they don’t get Kane, or another striker.
Ashley Williams: City are the best team and squad in the league. They have added Grealish and if they get Kane then the title is done. Even without Kane, or another top-class striker, as a team they have got goals everywhere and their style of play doesn’t need a recognised centre-forward. I’m expecting a more productive season from Sterling too.
Martin Keown: What I am really excited about is seeing how Grealish will play under Guardiola, after seeing the effect Pep has had on Sterling and Phil Foden already. Now we have another talented English player in his hands, and Grealish has a team of Galacticos around him.
Chelsea – ‘The depth in their squad is scary’
Last season, no-one thought Chelsea would win the title and only two out of 25 pundits thought they would make the top two. This time, seven out of 20 pundits think they will be champions and 80% think they will make the top two.
Pat Nevin: I’ve been at all their pre-season games and have looked at the depth they have got in their squad and it is actually scary – and that’s before Lukaku has arrived. If you add him on top of Kai Havertz, who could be, certainly over the next few years, one of the great players in the world, and look all the way through their squad, then they have got so much quality.
Fara Williams: We saw the impact Thomas Tuchel made in the second half of last season and how hard Chelsea are to beat. Lukaku’s goals will turn a lot of draws into wins.
Rob Green: Their squad is stronger than everyone else’s, even City. Then you add Lukaku, who will bring the best out of everyone else.
Martin Keown: Lukaku is a player you have to keep hungry so I think this is the perfect move for him, going back to a club where he has something to prove.
Ashley Williams: Chelsea made big improvements last season and I think they will be better again. I played with Lukaku at Everton so I know him quite well – his goal record for us was incredible but having seen him play for Inter Milan and Belgium, he’s even better now. It’s as if he has recognised his own ability and strengths more than he did before, and he knows when and where to use them. I still speak to him a lot and he has worked hard on his game – it’s mentally where he has got stronger, because he has always been a beast physically.
Ashley Williams joins Dion Dublin and Jason Mohammad on Final Score on Saturday, from 14:30 BST on the red button and the BBC Sport website and from 16:00 on BBC One.
Tumblr media
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel celebrates winning the Champions League with his family
Stephen Warnock: Tactically, they are so well organised under Tuchel, and it looks a happy camp too. He has created the perfect environment of having the authority that means no-one steps out of line, but the players like him too.
Michael Brown: They have got the belief now too, which is massive. They have gone from wondering ‘where will we finish?’ to thinking ‘we’ve got every chance’. They will be right in the mix.
Rachel Brown-Finnis: Tuchel consolidated at first and made them difficult to break down, now he is adding more firepower as well. If Lukaku clicks with their creative players, they will just be awesome but I just feel they will have the edge because of how hard they have been to beat.
Chris Sutton: Tuchel has not just sorted them out defensively, he has added a really nice balance to their team. Timo Werner will benefit from his first year in England, and Havertz also came into form at the end of the season. If there was a criticism of Chelsea last time, it was that they possibly weren’t ruthless enough but with Lukaku they will have a guy in who is an absolute glutton for goals.
Tumblr media
Jadon Sancho joins an already fearsome United attacking line-up for the new season. Also in their squad are (left to right) Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani
Man Utd – Will Sancho give them the ‘X-factor’?
Last season, 24 out of 25 pundits thought they would make the top four although 17 of the votes they received placed them in fourth. This time, 100% think they will finish in the top four and 11 out of 20 think they will finish third or higher, although only two people have backed them to finish second.
Chris Sutton: United missed a great opportunity to win the Europa League last season, which would have taken the pressure off Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by ending his wait for a trophy. They still had a good season but there is something missing – they have to show greater consistency and be able to take the game to the opposition. The other three top teams have a better balance about them but maybe Jadon Sancho will give them that X-factor.
Nedum Onuoha: If Sancho’s game can translate to the Premier League, then that is a huge coup for United. I can’t wait to see how he gets on.
Micah Richards: United have shown that they can beat anyone but they seem to have too many off-days over the course of the season and for me they are a couple of players short of being a title-winning side – including a centre-forward. Edinson Cavani is 34 and at the stage of his career where he needs looking after. He can’t play every week and they don’t have another striker like him.
Pat Nevin: It feels like Manchester United have been trying to sort out that centre-back position forever and, finally, by getting Raphael Varane in alongside Harry Maguire it looks right. I suspect it will turn out that way too, but let’s hold fire slightly to see – Varane was always lightning quick when he was younger but I have watched him a few times recently and wondered if he had lost half a yard of pace. I will only find out by watching him in the Premier League.
Matthew Upson: There is a lot of guesswork involved here until the season starts but Varane looks a really good signing, and one they needed to make. He and Harry Maguire are a world-class pairing at the back and that is going to make a huge difference for them.
Ashley Williams: You can’t ask for more from a centre-half partnership. My only question is whether Varane hits the ground running or does he need time to settle in. I’ve never played in La Liga so I am not saying there are easy games there but in the Premier League you are tested even by the poorer teams, and in different ways. Varane is vastly experienced but I’m not sure he will have come up against many teams like Burnley who have really physical strikers such as Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes. It doesn’t sound glamorous but they make your life difficult for 90 minutes. He has won everything there is to win, though, so I am sure he will cope with that.
Stephen Warnock: I see it as a four-horse race this year but the only difference between United and the other three is with their manager – I don’t think Solskjaer is the man to win the title. He’s done well tactically in some games but there have been times when something is not quite right and if you had given United’s squad to Jurgen Klopp, Guardiola or Tuchel last season, I think they all would have won the league. I am not sure he is the right man to take United to the next level.
Martin Keown: I have United down as finishing fourth but this title race is as open as it will ever be. They have made two brilliant signings, and they mean business. I am only picking this order because I have been asked to – and if they were to win it, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Liverpool’s only signing so far this summer saw France centre-back Ibrahima Konate join for £36m from RB Leipzig
Liverpool – A strong team but how deep is their squad?
Last season, 52% of the BBC pundits thought Liverpool would defend their title, while 21 out of 25 thought they would finish in the top two. This season, no-one thinks they will be champions, and only three out of 20 think they will make the top two.
Mark Lawrenson: A big factor for Liverpool is hunger after what happened last season. Yes, they had a lot of injuries but by their high standards it was a poor campaign – so they have a point to prove, especially in front of their fans at Anfield where they had such a poor run at the start of the year.
Danny Murphy: It is hugely important that Liverpool get Jordan Henderson’s contract situation sorted out. They have already lost Georginio Wijnaldum, who has been under-rated for the past few years. I do expect Henderson to stay, because he has been so pivotal to their success, but they need to put those concerns to bed quickly. Losing both now would be unthinkable.
Danny Murphy joins Ashley Williams and Mark Chapman for MOTD2 this Sunday at 22:30 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website for highlights of Newcastle v West Ham and Tottenham v Manchester City.
Tumblr media
Georginio Wijnaldum left Liverpool in June and signed for Paris St-Germain on a free transfer. “He is seriously under-rated,” says Danny Murphy. “He is brilliant defensively but great on the ball too and he doesn’t get enough credit for how good he is technically.”
Stephen Warnock: They are still a very strong team and I just think the style of football will be back to what it was a couple of years ago, with the team playing that high press again. Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah look fresh after a break over the summer but it is a concern what happens when they both go to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
Martin Keown: I know people are saying they haven’t really bought but there was nothing really wrong with Liverpool before their injury problems last season. I am backing Klopp to get back the perfection that was there in the two seasons before that, and they can challenge again, no doubt about it.
Pat Nevin: Liverpool still don’t look like they have a big enough squad to win the league, but then I’ve said that about them before. They have got Virgil van Dijk back now, which makes a massive difference, but I kind of think they need another serious striker.
Micah Richards: Diogo Jota did really well last season, and his injury came at a bad time for them. It might take a while for them to work out their best combination in attack, or what system to go with.
Chris Sutton: Ibrahima Konate looks like a decent defensive signing but the issue with Van Dijk is how fit is he? How has he been affected by being out for so long and the injury? We will find out.
Matthew Upson: It is hard to remember Liverpool at full throttle because they had such a disastrous time from the start of the year. Even though they have got Van Dijk fit, I had the same cruciate ligament injury and I’d say you are looking at several months from when he plays his first competitive game to him being back at his best. Joe Gomez is in the same boat really, and that’s the reason I have them down as third.
Rachel Brown-Finnis: I hope Van Dijk gets back to his best because he is such a wonderful player. They need him to perform individually but he also lifts the whole team. I don’t think it will happen for Liverpool without him, because of that knock-on effect. When they are in full swing, they are fantastic to watch.
Leicester – fighting it out with Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham for the top six?
Last season, Arsenal were the only other team to feature in the picks – two out of 25 pundits thought they would finish fourth or higher. This time, Leicester get a mention – but only one pundit thinks they will finish in the Champions League places.
Jermaine Beckford: I am going with Leicester to finish fourth. They are a breath of fresh air in terms of how much they invest in their squad compared to the teams who finished above them last season. They still spend some money of course, but they spend it so well. Their recruitment is absolutely brilliant, and I am a huge fan of the way Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers sets up his teams and gets everyone working hard together.
Ashley Williams: It’s going to be tough for anyone else to crack the top four, and I don’t think Arsenal or Spurs can do it. If anyone can wriggle in there, it is Leicester. They are a really good team and can beat any of the leading teams on their day but as they have already found out after finishing fifth twice, it is tough for them to sustain those standards for the whole season.
Martin Keown: Leicester will push again and they will definitely have a say in who will win the title. Arsenal and Spurs can too, but it still feels more like they are both in transition at the moment. There will be some pressure on Arsenal early on, because they have got some very difficult early fixtures against Chelsea and City in the first couple of weeks. I just want to see some more convincing performances from them, because I think we can see the club has tumbled down the league, and there are other clubs with more resources than them now. They need to be more competitive in games to get up the table, and they also need Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to have a smile back on his face.
Danny Murphy: If anyone might surprise a few people it’s Arsenal – they are not in Europe, and they have got some fantastic forward players. People forget that last season was the first in Aubameyang’s career where he didn’t score a bagful of goals, and nothing suggests to me that is going to continue. They have a tough start but their young players are going to keep getting better.
Pat Nevin: Just purely if you look at the finances and size and experience of squads, it is going to be very hard for anyone outside the top four to get up there again. After the top four, it is Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester, and maybe West Ham who will all basically be trying to be the best of the rest.

The Egyptian had 59 shots on target last season — and was also part of the team that fired a record 23 against Burnley, still coming away with a final result of The man leading that charge last year was unsurprisingly Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who has made his name through his well-timed tackled.
Ladbrokes are one of the bookmakers that offer great todays predictions premier league in these markets on Premier League matches. Last season, that man was Luka Milivojevic of Crystal Palace. They all do it — wandering offside, lazy strolls back into being onside, too eager to get ahead of the ball. Steve's prediction: I've never had a night out in Burnley, premker I had a great time when I went to Newcastle so, on that basis, I'm going with them to win. Even without the injured Declan Rice, West Ham were impressive against Wolves on Monday evening, but this is a much bigger test for them.
Leicester were outplayed by Manchester City last time out, but I don't todays predictions premier league you can really read too much into that - Brendan Rodgers' team are still a very good side. West Ham have shown they are too, and they have done brilliantly to get in the top four, just one place below the Foxes.
It is going to be hard for both of them to stay there, but of the two I think Leicester have got the better get more Info. They blew up from a similar position last season, but this time they have got a better team and a better squad. Steve's prediction: I love the story of how Leicester won the league as huge underdogs in The fact their nickname is the Foxes seals the deal.
When Tottenham beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on 4 October, it wasn't even the craziest result of the day - that was Villa's win over Liverpool.
I'm not expecting the same kind of scoreline this time - since that game, United have really tightened up against other teams in the top six - but I'm still going for another Spurs win. A draw is not much good to Jose Mourinho's side after they dropped points against Newcastle last week, and we might just see a reaction to his comments about their poor defensive display at St James' Park. For a while now it has been just a question todays predictions premier league when Sheffield United are going to be relegated, not 'if'.

A real shame. Like I tell everyone, it was fun while it lasted! Looks like Christopher Harris was right. NBC is screwing over its cable subs a bit more this year. Chris: thanks for the link. I caution people again to be wary of this vendor. Do you want the shock of toay wrongly charged? The hassle epl matches for today and time dealing with an organization that hides its phone number? Whose chat line appears epl matches for today and time Other contact info made difficult to obtain?
Even the investigator writing up the case noted difficulty epl matches for today and time them. Do you have el time and disposition to deal with such problems for such a poor service? Will report outcome. Obviously it visit this site like an error occurred with your experience. Many companies make it difficult to find their phone number. I already pay for Peacock Premium but, unlike every other non-HBO service, it is difficult to watch Peacock outside of the home.
My friend has an old Roku and a Amazon fire stick, so the app is unavailable. And she is a Comcast customer. But if you are paying for it then it should be available wherever you want to watch it. But NBC is making it very difficult for me to share my love of the game with others.
A quick update on my Peacock tribulation. Good news. Thanks to Chris H. The sign up process was clunky, user unfriendly, and I had no confirmation that it went thru. So I tried again but this time more cautiously opting for the monthly, as my confidence in Peacock ebbed. Bingo… access to the Prem!
I received the monthly charge, but later also got charged for the whole year for epl live match video failed sign up. My error was that, in my initial frustration to get activated, I must have entered my email incorrectly. So they were also charging me for that service, feeding to nobody todaj someone lucky! It was the result of a harried fan being careless out of frustration, but why not install a system that would require email validation? Looks like Peacock Premium subscribers have been screwed over??
How greedy is that? Just using it to force in new Peacock viewers!! I hope they lose the next Premier League contract. I only say this because there are many cord cutters that hope this same thing happens — but only so they can actually watch a top level match like this one via a stream only service like Peacock. Not as long as providers know that their traditional cable networks still draw a significant revenue stream, yet also can do so via their separate stream-only service.
EPL is most watched euro soccer league in the US and any provider will do what they can to maximize their revenue possibilities. If you have a later model of the Roku devices with epl matches for today and time latest software you can screen mirror to the Roku. You then control the start and end of the game from your iPad but the video and sound comes from your TV.
I Have just bought a gen6 IPad and maybe this will do better. I pay for Peacock Premium on my old pad, how do I get to install it on my new one without having to pay twice? Rebecca You should definitely be able to see an option to just login to Peacock app with your current profile do not sign up again on the new iPad so as to not itme recharged. Rebecca since Peacock allows multiple streams at the same time your old iPad installation will not prevent you from installing the app from the Apple App store and than being charged again.
Just install the app and provide login credentials like email address and password. As far as your freezing problem is concerned it could be that your WiFi connection to the iPad is not very good. Make sure that your WiFi connection is excellent 5 bars. Other users did complain that Peacock matcnes buffer the stream too many times to their liking. So distinguish between buffering and freezing, buffering will show a twirling circle. I always have to make sure not to connect to my Routers 5GHz connection as somehow that one is not as good as my 2.
If I pay for the product I should be able to access the content whenever I want to, how I want to and at a time that best suits me. LTx In other topics here it was hotly debated what you mentioned. Epl matches for today and time factors contributed to the lack of features in the Peacock App.
There was ofr clear strategy how to present to the matces the games as is evident by the epl matches for today and time the matches between NBC, Mathces epl matches for today and time Peacock and than again a change in strategy by dropping games from the On-Demand Peacock epl matches for today and time. It all reeks a bit of an amateurish approach.
Liverpool v. Now I am this contact form for less??? Makes you dizzy trying to figure it out each week. There is an error on the scheduling. On Sunday the 7th you show Wolverhampton v. Leeds and on Monday the 8th you show Leeds v. Crystal Palace. As s Leicester City fan I todayy miffed there was no game scheduled so went to their site and see they are scheduled to play Sunday v.
Otherwise keep up the good work! Man City game on Peacock will have spanish tjme by the Telemundo crew available basics the first time. Life, for me, is more complicated with Peacock streaming more of the big games.
Do the brave thing everyone and cancel Peacock! Then they will have to implement a different model. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time This web page comment. Competition: Premier League. Saturday, April 10 am EDT. Free Trial. Browse Offers.

England top the group
After a 1-0 victory against the Czech Republic, England finish top of the group and will proceed to the knockout stages of the European Championships. England did not concede a single goal in any of the three games of the group stages. England kept a clean sheet against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic. Two goals were scored and both of them by Raheem Sterling. He’s made a significant contribution to the Three Lions. Two 1-0 wins and a 0-0 draw means that England finish on 7 points which is decent. Obviously 3 wins out of 3 games would have been nice but it is what it is. England are through and will be playing much tougher opponents in the next round. It won’t be easy but Southgate has got the squad to be able to put up a fight. There are some very good sides left in the tournament so it’s going to be very competitive and the games will be more difficult.
England have been mostly good defensively. I say mostly because although they have kept three clean sheets, they have given chances to the opposition. The opposition just haven’t been able to take their chances therefore they have not been able to score. A better team is scoring against England. England are not as defensively solid as they seem. The forward players just need to make sure they can create chances and take those chances, resulting in goals being scored. Having players like Grealish, Sancho and Saka in the starting line up will help to make that happen. It will help to increase creativity and help to increase the speed with which the ball is moved around in the final third. Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice are crucial to ensuring that the midfield balance is stable , which adds extra protection to the back four and gives the attacking players the license to stay up front and not have to track back as the midfield is secure. Shaw and Walker were good as the fullbacks tonight. They did their jobs well and carried out their defensive duties with confidence and assurance. Shaw was also good when he was driving forward with the ball. For Man Utd that has been one of his strong points throughout the last season as he linked up well with Marcus Rashford on the left wing.
It was really nice to see Jack Grealish and Bukayo Saka starting today. They both played well and both had a good game. Grealish was excellent with winning fouls for England as he was able to bring the Czech players towards him and he got the assist for Sterling’s goal. The goal came pretty early on. Southgate was able to make many substitutions during the game. He brought on Jordan Henderson at half time to replace Declan Rice. Marcus Rashford came on for Sterling, Jude Bellingham , Tyrone Mings and even Jadon Sancho all were able to get game time so this was nice to see. I’m hoping Sancho can get more than 10 minutes in the round of 16 game so that he has more of a chance to have an impact. He is a very talented player and is capable of unlocking a defence with his creativity and skill. He has a lot of technical ability also therefore is able to operate well in tight situations where he is surrounded by many opposition players. He uses his quick feet to navigate his way out of the situation and pass the ball to a team mate.
I was quite impressed by Harry Kane’s performance tonight. He was much sharper and useful tonight in comparison to the Scotland game last Friday. His hold up play was very good and he linked up well with his teammates. Henderson put the ball in the back of the net however the goal was not given due to a player being offside.
England maybe could have tried to create more chances in the second half to kill the game off but did not have a really dominant spell in position. There were half attempts and some attacks started to build up they didn’t flow as well as they could have and this is something Gareth Southgate could work on. England were not as dominant in the second half as they were in the first 20 minutes of the match. If England can dominate for the entire game then that will be very good however it is difficult to achieve such levels of dominance over an opponent, especially a decent one. They allowed the Czech Republic to attack and invited them forward. None of these attacks were very dangerous and Jordan Pickford was not really troubled at all by any of the shots from the opposition. England need to make sure that in future games they cut out these attacks with more force and are tighter and more compact in defence. A 1-0 win seems very pragmatic for England. Perhaps Southgate has opted for this approach although some would argue that it is a little too conservative. Maybe, England should take more risks and be braver. As long as it doesn’t come at a cost of course. As long as England don’t concede goals from it. Sometimes, a risky strategy and style of play is needed because it comes with a reward and that is more goals. You just have to keep trying. Winning 1-0 does the job. It is efficient however it shouldn’t be the go to tactic I think. England have the attacking quality and talent to score more than one goal in a game. They just need to try. Declan Rice and Phillips are there to provide protection for the defence so should be able to handle the attacks of opponents when they try to hit on the counterattack. Southgate will however probably stick to pragmatic football as it has worked so far and against harder opponents he will not want to take too many risks. Sometimes in football though, you have to take risks. That’s what Sir Alex Ferguson did. It’s therefore no surprise that Manchester United won so many games due to a late winner.
Sir Alex would not be happy with Scotland as they finished bottom of Group D and lost their final game of the group stages to Croatia 3-1 at Hamden Park. This result means that Croatia finish second in the group on 4 points and qualify along with the Czech Republic in 3rd place and also on 4 points. Luka Modric scored a very good goal which was the highlight of the match.
England will play the runner up in Group F. We will have to wait and see what happens tomorrow to know who the opponent will be for England in the round of 16. Whoever it is, it will be tough so Gareth Southgate and his players will need to be prepared for the challenge. Bring it on!
