Not irl, just a TTRPG but...
It's 4am now. How do you tell your best choom that
Your name isn't your real name
Your friendship with him was built on a lie
You're actually working for Arasaka (he was left to die by Arasaka, is anti corp now)
Your big bro was the Arasaka enforcer who interrogated and tortured him
You may or may not have bugged him once or twice and handed over his info to a corp
Wtf when I list out what I have done, I feel worse 😭. I feel like a smarmy two faced liar 😭
My character is grateful for everything her sponsor did for her... but I want to just stop lying for once 😭
Her sponsor is kinda like her adoptive dad, so he'll understand right..? He won't get mad if I want to leave the corp and be free right?
I want out. I don't want to do this anymore. Everytime I sell someone out, I feel like a part of me is dying on the inside. I caused the death of 4 NPCs that were close to my party. I watched my big bro make them disappear
Now my bro knows I'm friends with a potential target. Heck, I'm co parenting a cat with the potential target. I don't want him to retaliate, I have to sort this out eventually
But this investigation will be my last favour for Arasaka. I suspect something is wrong... I'll find out what's wrong and tell my sponsor
There's a rat in Arasaka. And I suspect this entire chain of events is linked to the murder of my parents. I'll help our Exec get his promotion if he helps me get my closure. Then I'm out. I'm done living the corpo lifestyle
Eddies aren't everything, I'm willing to lose my reputation and connections
Our Rockerboy said I'd always have a place with his band and he'll help me out if I stop working for corpos. Not sure if he still wants to help out my character if he finds out the truth though...
But if the offer is still up, my character will take it. She can work as a freelance netrunner for his friend. All fixers need a reliable netrunner

as someone with a guilty pleasure for isekai and time regression stories I am just thinking of a story where Husk dies and wakes up during the height of his Overlord days with the memories of everything that would happen and has just. From the outside perspective become a completely different person overnight and changed his ways (read: the morals he gained during his afterlife he applies to how he, uh... Overlords?).
A Husk whose last soul deal is to get Angel Dust away from Valentino (and offers Angel his freedom, which Angel possibly decides not to take for the time being bc it'd be safer for him to be under contract than not, with Valentino as mad as he is), and who avoids making bets/deals with Alastor like the plague. Starts building alliances with other Overlords (maybe even including Alastor, albeit reluctantly) to steadily create a support network/team (which is also useful when going up against the Vees once they're established), and just bides his time until Charlie and Vaggie open their hotel- which, at the time of his death, he had come to love and support the cause of.
And Husk is ready to be the hotel's sponsor, immediately. Alastor gets there and finds Husk beat him to it (seeing as Husk knows about it before the interview even airs), but unlike Alastor with his ulterior motives, Husk actually wants to help.
After all, he died for the hotel, and its people, once upon a time

In my opinion, the reason the reunion scene was skipped was because the author couldn’t figure out a way to write it non-romantically and gave up after a while
honestly. i kinda agree with you nonnie.
it just. the set up to the scene is sooooo romantic. you have lloyd being absolutely devastated at the thought he's not going to see any of his loved ones ever again and that he's been dropped back into his terrible life, to the place he admitted he'd rather die than go back to,,, and then someone knocks at the door and when he opens it this is the sight that greets him:
his best friend, the person he's closest to, the one he's spent years with, the one he promised a peaceful life at his side, the one he wanted to grow old with, the one he sacrificed everything for, the one he effectively gave his life to save, the one he thought he'd never see again, standing at his door, having crossed literal dimensional barriers to get to him, a soft and teary smile on his face as he tells him "i missed you"
like. c'mon.
i'm all for platonic interpretations, i'm aroace, i love me a good best friendship as much as the next guy, but,,,, isn't this,,, like,,, really fucking romantic??? extremely so??? am i??? reading too much into it?? because it feels really, really romantic to me.
and like you say. where do you go from there. what response could lloyd give that doesn't involve throwing himself at javier and clinging to him with all of his strength. what conversation could these two have that doesn't involve them seeing how truly devoted they are to each other. what resolution does their arc together have that isn't them spending the rest of their lives together, at each other's side, like they so dearly wanted to.
but. alas. that wasn't the story bk moon wanted to tell. and that's very much his right. i just think that if he didn't want me to assume there's no in-character and narratively satisfying version of that conversation that doesn't end with them kissing he should've at least tried to give us something. and not completely skipped it lol
but that's just my opinion too :]

Something that I love about sherliam is that they’re not your conventional ship that you can easily put in situations with out-of-nowhere cheap drama.
They won’t let you, they are too smart and connected for that, and if you dare to do it, they wouldn’t be the same characters.
Like, Person B sees Person A too close to a girl and misunderstands and gets angry/runs away in tears? Not sherliam. They would know what’s up, the only upsetting thing about it would be that random girl bothering their babe.
Person A lies to Person B saying they don’t love them in order to “protect them”? Not sherliam. They would know the other is lying and any of them wouldn’t even try to do something that dumb in the first place.
Person A feels they don’t deserve Person B and leaves them for Person B to find someone better? Not sherliam. They know they mean each other’s happiness, why would they cause the other such despair?
Person A is too proud and can’t stand recieving things from Person B? Not sherliam. They’re reasonable, they take in consideration the other’s feelings, they would understand and appreciate the other’s efforts, and they’d be happy to recieve any kind of love and worry the other offers.
