Danny Fenton is an ectoplasm generator regardless of dimension. Other ghosts are depleted over time without a constant supply of additional/third party ectoplasm.

Danny, like all stable halfs, almost constantly generates a field of ectoplasm around him without special training (in fact, it is an aura - excess unused energy that leaves the body and the stronger the ghost, the more energy it has). Due to the fact that the park of friendliness is teeming with ectoplasm and the entire Phantom team is used to Danny's "aura", no one has yet understood or discovered this feature.

And as far as we know, ghosts are more likely to be born in places where there is enough ectoplasm. So Danny + Gotham = disaster.
