Just My Thoughts Pt. 34
If you discuss growth in FT characters and leave out Lucy/Wendy then you’re so wrong. These two girls have started at the lowest level and grown up so much. Quickly summing up Lucy’s growth from a celestial mage that started her magical journey at a very late age (compared to most of the other FT members), she’s the holder of multiple golden Zodiac keys, knows several spells including Gottfried and Urano metria (and of course the new ones in the 100 YQ), can use one of the grand fairy magic (fairy sphere) and has Star dress. That’s just the major parts of her growth as a mage.
Now for Wendy, she’s grown so much as a person and a wizard. I love her commitment to FT. I wonder how often she remembers her old guild because that was a very emotional moment for her to realize they weren’t truly real. I am so glad to see her dive into her dragon slayer magic (her dragon force mode is peak I love the design) alongside her enchantress powers. This is one thing I am so happy Mashima added because it’s perfect for Wendy. She’s truly power considering how young she is and how much potential she has.
For the remainder of the 100 YQ I would love to see more of her enchantress abilities, casting spells and enhancing her magic. Maybe a unison raid with Natsu. Honestly any unison raid would be acceptable. It’s something I thought would be more common but was put on the side like everything else I had high expectations for. Lucy and Juvia need to do another one since they were very first example. So maybe Natsu and Gray can have one or even Natsu and Lucy (to satisfy my NaLu needs).
Back to Wendy, I would also like to see more of her relationship with Sherria. Speaking of which, how’s her return to magic going?! I am sure Wendy does her best to provide as much support and positivity as she can. I would also like to see more of Wendy, Lucy, and Erza as almost a sister bond and wholesome moments between girls who went through so much together that’s not a battle or anything violent. Maybe a filler shopping spree or lunch outing just to relax and enjoy the moment. It’s something Wendy (and all the others need) since she’s still a child. She needs to have the positive vibes too.
I’m just going to add Happy and Carla on here because I just have one major thing I need from them. Did they ever realize the other Exceeds were their parents? Did they ever go to interact with them? How are they doing?! Honestly they could’ve had more involvement considering their flight is very useful. I just want to Happy to know his parents are proud of him and love him. I want Carla to know her mother feels sorry for what she did in the past and that to some extent an actual princess.

Sue me all you want; I have a good lawyer.
But Gale and Shadowheart are meant for each other. From their stories and character traits to their wishes for the future and even their symbolism, everything about them points to Galeheart being canon. I don't care what the fandom has to say; they were made for each other. Periodt.
Their relationship is the healthiest pairing to exist. They grow through one another, for one another, and with one another. Despite facing indoctrination, grooming, abuse, and other traumas, they still stand strong. When they meet, they learn from each other, grow together, and become one. They defy Mystra, Shar, and Selune with their love and happiness.
Imagine them in a quiet, domestic life: Gale teaching his students while Shadowheart tends to their animals and garden. In the evening, they cook together (keeping Shadowheart away from the kitchen), play with their kids, and enjoy family time. Gale reads her favorite poems on their terrace in Waterdeep during sunset.
Shadowheart, having lost everything—her family, faith, and home—finally finds what she's always wanted with Gale: a family, a home, and love.
She shows her love for him daily, while Gale surprises her with night orchids. Their life together is wholesome and filled with happiness.
They're endgame, they're canon. Thank you for your attention; you can continue.

Melinoe calls Hecate headmistress... And they've said it's a sequel. So I'd like to think that Zag knows he has a sister, that he actually spent an unusual amount of time at home babysitting like a totally smitten big brother. And then eventually Melinoe was sent to magic boarding school. Whatever went wrong must have happened just before they sent her, or during her stay there.
That's my headcanon to justify Zag flying baby Melinoe over his head while running down the halls full speed.

okay wait laughingstock concept Incoming: so im imagining some of the neighbors (maybe Julie & Frank) noticing that Barnaby & Howdy are a lil fruity, yk yk. and Julie's like damn, i guess we have to play matchmaker here.
so naturally they wind up getting the whole neighborhood involved. everybody's a wingman here. Poppy's dropping hints when Howdy drops off groceries, Wally is constantly asking Barnaby to go get him things from the bodega, etc etc. Howdy and Barnaby are facing this sudden change in town-wide behavior with slight concern and bemusement
eventually - lets say Julie, Sally, and Wally - get Barnaby into the bodega and then abruptly leave like "don't have too much fun without us you two *wink wink nudge nudge*". once they're gone (read: very obviously hiding outside & watching through the window) Barnaby & Howdy turn to each other like:
Barnaby: you think we should tell them we're already married?
Howdy: let them have their fun - they'll figure it out eventually

I'm curious if you have an idea on how they will portray Mario and Luigi's relationship in the movie. Do you think they will be close? Will we perhaps see a flashback of them as babies? 🥺 Will we get a clear sense of how strong a bond they have?
Based on what we got from the 2nd trailer I'm hopeful, but there's a part of me that is worried the ending will be bittersweet, with Mario getting praise and Luigi being in his brother's shadow. Just like in the games. I really wouldn't want that because it's not fun to see a character treated that way. The games did it for too long imo.
Sorry for rambling a bit there, but as I enjoyed your last answer so much I was curious if you had any other thoughts.
You know what would be really cool? What would be really nice and sweet?...
If near the end, after the big victory, there was a moment where citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom and other realms would gather around Mario with joyful cheers to congratulate him; and Mario, briefly stepping away, would reach sideways for the person standing next to him (until now left mostly ignored). Cue a surprised and visibly puzzled Luigi, who obviously wouldn't be used to finding himself in the spotlight. Patting his shoulder warmly, Mario would then look back at the crowd and tell everyone what Luigi did. How he helped defeat Bowser and save everyone. And as he would talk, describing how brave, kindhearted and selfless he his, his gaze would drift to his brother meaningfully, affectionate and genuine. Asking that his brother be treated with the same regard as he is... because he couldn't have done it without him. 💞💫
The relationship I see and feel for them in my heart is one of endless support, trust and love. And nothing would make me happier than to see Mario share that taste of triumph with his younger sibling. To really include him as an equal and look at him with sincere admiration, because Luigi both needs and really deserves it. 🥺💚🌈

I havent really been into the current state of the JJK manga for a while, im at the point where its ending might hold some value for me as someone who was already invested in the characters but largely aside from seeing how a few things pan out I just really really couldn't care less.
that being said I have to thank gege for every new chapter giving us more and more good looking Gojos. the more feral and covered in blood the better, and hoo boy am I getting that.

accidentally browsing a (very niche) female-dominated gaming space and seeing people TEAR into people who want an option to change the player character's pronouns to he/him or they/them without changing anything else because it'd invite men to invade a safe space. For a game purely about dating men. Like, I've been through plenty of female-dominated spaces where queer people and similar-interest straight men are welcome (in this case it'd be bi men but yknow), so it's just this one community, but jeez. The amount of fear that anyone who isn't explicitly a femme female would come in and A. hit on the faceless women there or B. taint the game by making the devs add designs of men who they don't want to date?
I got such a strong terf-y rhetoric from that community, like we can't have anything in common with people who aren't like us going on. All about taking 'our' things. And a lot of people contradicting one other but not trying to find out what the truth is because they have the same conclusion. Like two people saying A>B or B>A and no argument arises and no one shows interest in which is true because both people conclude C.
A lot of people even saying that, likewise, things that appeal to female or queer audiences should NOT be added to mainstream media just like queer content should not be added to female-oriented media. These hard walls around what belongs to who is like...they were raised by toy companies or something.
Like what is (paraphrasing so it isnt searchble) "I would never come into a male dominated community because I feel like I would be invading their safe space, so I don't get why men would want to come here and talk about liking men." At least the people who are scared of sexual abuse are warranted, I've seen tons of abusive language towards people they think are women in male dominated online spaces, but what is this fear of even...sharing interests with men? I know we've been in a new era of gender role enforcement with the tradfem movement, but jeez. And as for these last two points, they both are ones that were contradicted. People also said they do believe in diversity BUT just *this* shouldn't count.
Some people even said it's not fair that they get pushed to be more inclusive when mainstream media never does. Which makes me wonder if they're so deep in their niche 'I only experience content made by and for exclusively straight women' content that they haven't noticed any of the movements in media going on over the last 1.5 decades. Like it's true that we haven't made that much progress, but how do they think that no media gets pressed to increase diversity? The more rigid/right-leaning male audiences of tons of media have been complaining about forced diversity for years in exactly the same way (and sometimes, when it really WAS forced diversity, everyone complains because it's not representing anyone really but yknow). But I guess they wouldn't know that if all of them avoid mainstream media?
Also...what is the fear that gay men like men in a 'wrong' way...(and again, the unargued contradiction being plenty of people saying that they also like media about gay characters, but just they shouldn't make these characters gay)
And like I do get it, in the sense that being marginalized makes you skeptical and fearful of things you don't understand in its own separate way from how being in a privileged class makes you skeptical and fearful of things you don't understand. There's a lot more fear of exploring things different and new because the possible retribution feels/has been higher.
Honestly, this post isn't actually about a couple hundred to low-thousand women in a small community for niche games. Not like, I think it's important, I want to actively make them change. It's not that big a deal, not that surprising in the grand scheme. It's similar rhetoric to things i've seen before (Tradfem/terf). I've seen screenshots of, like, facebook mom groups before. And I've seen way bigger communities be way more open and welcoming, it's just a little outlier.
I'm just writing this because I'm a bit shellshocked because I forget how much that those kinds of people are not just the older, tech-illiterate generations, and not just shallow influencers who will say anything for the clicks (or because someone behind the scenes is funding it), their views behind the camera up in the air. Like I think I cultivate the people I interact with a bit too well. Too many of the people I actually interact with or witness the thoughts of regularly are queer and have flitting relationships with gender and then I remember the other side of the coin has people who think they're being progressive by suggesting that everyone who is different be segregated and therefore safe from each other with no room for intersectionality.

Queer ppl who rag on The Owl House and other kid show's representation bc they're more wholesome are so weird to me. Like I get you want more than wholesome and sweet queer couples, I do too, and I don't think they should be standard
But that doesn't mean it's "bad," you know??

Reading the new comet event (spoilers sort of?) and I could've sworn I'd read it before, but no!! I realised that it was because MC going to Satan after he shut himself in his room reminded me of that scene in the Minecraft chapter where IK finds him on the iceberg! Just a cool thing I thought I'd share
oo funky!! i haven't done the new event myself (planning on speedrunning at some point before it ends), but it looks interesting! i like that they're trying something new, and focusing each pop quiz around particular characters should definitely make them more interesting, esp if they go for actual mini-arcs with them like it sounds like they are
