I don't really feel comfortable with the term 'Safe, Sane, and Consensual' to be quite honest – or indeed with any term that seeks to define what 'sane' is. There are similar issues with people trying to be the judge of what "safe" and "healthy" look like. And unfortunately I see people increasingly use this term to define kinks they personally like, while relegating anything they don't approve of as "crazy" and "unsafe" and therefore morally corrupt – even though some of the most common and tamest kinks have a major element of risk in them. I far prefer to use the term 'Risk-aware Consensual Kink'. Because when people start seeing some kinks as fully "safe" and "sane" it allows for a framework where you never actually look into and seriously genuinely consider the risks involved in your more socially acceptable kinks, at the same time being able to abhor consensual activities between adults as being too 'insane' to be acceptable if you don't like them.
I'm suspicious of any model where we use ideas of health – be it physical in the sense of ""safe"" kink (which btw funny how many people don't see choking and spanking as unsafe because it's commonplace) or in the mental sense of ""sane"" kink (which means God knows what for people who aren't considered 'sane' by neurotypical standards) – to allow or disallow consensual and autonomous activities, or indeed to grant ideological legitimacy to them.

everyone's problematic!! yes, even that one, yes even you. that's life etc. i could've probably made this and include every actor from spn but i want this to actually be useful to people, so i made my own (i guess slightly biased cause that can't be avoided) decisions in that. i tried to make it as lighthearted as i could but unfortunately some actors have really made a mess of things so read with caution if you're easily triggered

again, i trust you to draw your own conclusions and do your own additional research. that also applies to actors i didn't include here. i'm not gonna tell you where to draw the line and who you should or shouldn't support. a lot of newbies get lost sometimes and this is for them

I've only been on newgrounds recently but it seems ok and I haven't seen people say anything bad about it, what's rancid there that I haven't seen yet? Also what is this new cohost site everyone is talking about? I can't tell if it's more like twitter or tumblr, or if it's gonna be like pillowfort where everyone forgets about it eventually
i am 28 years old and used to go on newgrounds every day in middle and high school and i have no desire to do so anymore. you're allowed to use it. many people do. i know the type of Big Name Internet Personality that comes from newgrounds, the kind of people who never quite outgrew their south park phase, and that's not the crowd i like to hang around. i also think that so many nsfw artists moving there after the tumblr porn ban is foolish when everyone knows the userbase of newgrounds is mostly teenage boys. and frankly, as an artist, i hate that it still runs on having people write 1- to 5-star reviews on your submissions. i do not need to see that one drawing of mine got 4.55 stars while another got 4.6. that is meaningless to me
cohost is being pitched as a place for twitter refugees to go right now because of the musk buyout and because most users heard about it via leftist twitter, but it isn't really designed to be a replacement for twitter. it was designed to be a "fourth website" - a low-pressure, slower-paced, more chill site with no algorithm and no ads that you can check from time to time on top of the sites you already use, with a layout inspired mainly by tumblr. it reinforces this vibe by hiding most stats from view. follower counts are hidden like on here, but so are note counts, with the only visible stat being the number of comments on a post so that you can tell if someone added a new one. you aren't encouraged to constantly refresh to watch the numbers go up, there are no trending topics, there's no endless scrolling, you can just post and share what you want to and check up on it at a couple times every day
the staff also understands how people actually use these sites in practice and how certain features shape user behavior, so it cuts down on features that end up being tools for harassment. there are no quote tweets, just tumblr-style reblog comments and replies. people can't @ you randomly to put unhinged shit in your notifications. people can't dig through your likes for dirt. the search feature only lets you search tags, not post body content, so there are no term searchers. there's currently no ask box or DMs. (i enjoy answering tumblr asks, but it'd be insane to deny how much they've been used for harassment throughout the history of this site)
i'm not the most active on there currently, but it's refreshing imo. it's small scale, but that's the point, and it's already developing a culture of its own. for example, they let you put custom css and scripting in your posts (within reason), so people do wacky stuff like making the text go diagonal or putting a playable game of minesweeper in the post. this has been described as a "cambrian explosion of posting" that imo helps elevate it beyond the many attempts at Tumblr 2.0

Tumblr (seems to be) Actively Censoring Pro Palestinian Posts
So as many people who are invested in the genocide happening in Gaza right now have noticed, Tumblr seems to be actively censoring any posts that are pro Palestine. There's the evidence we all seem to be aware of, such as the suppressing of related tags and keeping them from trending, but I've noticed some smaller things as well.
(Also, if you're wondering why it's "seems to be", it's because I'm very sure that's what's happening but I don't like to speak in absolutes. So take this as "I'm 100% sure it's being censored but I can't literally read the code rn or anything so MAYBE-". Giving them the benefit of the doubt I suppose 😔)
So the first thing that's really been noticed is how many times the pro Palestine tags are suddenly gone from trending, even though they're definitely being basically flooded with posts and reblogs and whatnot. They'll be trending and pretty quickly, (like sometimes within a couple hours?) even though the amount is still high, it'll suddenly no longer be on trending. Definitely take my timeline here with a grain of salt because my perception of time is wack, (it's the autism) but I've seen many people point it out so I know I'm not completely losing my mind.
There's also the fact that many accounts supporting Palestine seemed to have some shadow ban issues. This has happened with a few different stances/issues with this website and I didn't see it a whole bunch for Palestine (though I'm like 85% sure at minimum that's simply because I'm not the best at noticing the accounts regularity of posting or anything so if it wasn't pointed out to me I wouldn't have noticed them being gone. This is also partially the autism, what you gonna do 🤷‍♀️). Shadow banning is, in my opinion, one of the most despicable ways to attack a cause because information is of course one of the most important things for this sort of thing. To shut down a source of info simply because you don't agree with it is terrible, (especially if the info is true,) and to do it quietly so either no one notices or if they do notice, the info provider can't explain why or what happened is, again, despicable. Especially when some of the info providers are currently in an area where people are legitimately being killed daily, no, HOURLY, so for all you know they've been killed. I definitely don't want to be seen as overreacting or anything, but I will say that not too long ago, an account I kept tabs on had been shadow banned, and one of the very real worries I had was something bad had happened to them. I'm not getting into any specifics but this wasn't even related to Palestine, and maybe I have a penchant for drama or overreacting but I know people worry, and people care, and I'd rather people care and nothing bad have happened than people be apathetic and something terrible happen.
I've recently discovered a new way Tumblr seems to be censoring, and that's claiming a post contains filtered tags. I have a few tags filtered, completely unrelated to Palestine or Gaza or Israel or even politics, and yet I've seen Tumblr claim multiple posts have tags I have filtered on them. I've also only got like 2 tags filtered, for reference I guess. 2 of the at least 7 posts Tumblr has claimed I have filtered, that were in fact not something I have filtered, were not related to Palestine. TWO. That means FIVE of the posts WERE related to Palestine, and all of them were pro Palestine of course. This is the tactic I'm least sure on, because it's totally possible it's coincidence rather than causation, (I keep track of lots of pro Palestine stuff so it's more likely they're gonna get the broken tag thing,) but the thing that's making me lean towards it being deliberate is that issue/glitch didn't start happening until AFTER I'd been invested in the Palestine stuff, for a little while in fact.
So, Tumblr. Do what you will with this post. Maybe you'll ignore it because I'm a small poster. Maybe you'll try to punish me for it. Maybe it'll even get taken down (which I believe some pro Palestine posts have as well but I'm far less knowledgeable on that so I'm not going to get into it.) I used to avidly support you. I used to be remorseful about being too poor to support you. But as sure as the sun will rise, the rivers and sea fill the land with green, the Palestinians survive, know that regardless how much you censor, people will keep talking. They'll talk, and protest, and SCREAM into the void if they have to, because this is wrong. Try to keep people quiet, they will never stay that way.
(PS. I don't currently have any pictures because I'm too silly to remember to screenshot things but I'll add them if I get some.)

So, this is awkward- My main blog @gunsli-01 has been shadow banned. Speaking up on this blog may very well cause the same thing to occur. However, if it does that's confirmation enough for me that this fandom has become an incredibly toxic place. Plus, I've kind of got to say it here so the people whom it concerns can see it. If you're here for Pandora Hearts stuff feel free to ignore.
TL;DR: Since this happened, I will not be continuing to make Milgram content on my side blog. So, anyone following me for Milgram edits may just want to leave.
Now, a lot happened yesterday evening. I recognized that my ability to message people on my main blog had vanished at around seven while looking over an ask I received. Before saying anything, I decided to try to investigate the reasons this might be. Even bringing up the issue within a discord server I've been a part of for years now.
Tumblr media
I couldn't find anything. In a state of upset I posted about the situation in the ask sent to me regarding the fandom in question. At first, I believed this was happening because a person in said fandom reported my main blog as a silencing tactic. Then I was informed by my fiancée that it was a glitch which had been affecting people all over the website.
However, through further investigation it seems more likely that this is not a glitch but an abuse of the reporting feature. From what I've gathered through Tumblr many people have had this happen to them some multiple times.
I've been on Tumblr since 2013 through my main blog. I've made friends and flitted in and out fandoms without ever encountering this issue. This is something that seems to have only occurred because of my more active and vocal role within that fandom. Something that if I try hard enough, I can understand. It is not lost on me how what I say on my main blog can come off to others.
I was messaging someone within the fandom about this before I lost the ability to message or even look back on my messages. I can see how my opinion and feelings regarding Milgram could make me dislikeable. Since a lot of what I say is stuff that certain people might not want to hear.
However, falsely reporting someone's blog as spam is not okay.
Since my blog has been shadow banned, I can't reply to comments on my own post, tag people in posts, message, even if I answer asks sent to me there's no guarantee the person who sent it will be notified. It will look like people can message me, but I will receive nothing. Star can't even look up my tags on my blog anymore. On my end it will look like I liked a post and I can still reblog things but my interaction won't appear in the notes of the post itself. I've even had past comments of mine on my own posts vanish.
Tumblr media
I can at least still see my activity but for all intents and purposes interacting with anyone on Tumblr is now impossible for me. I'm not gonna say this isn't meant to call out this fandom because it legitimately is. Like if someone actively and maliciously did this to me fuck that person. Also, since this happened, I will not be continuing to make Milgram content on my side blog.
So, anyone following me for Milgram edits may just want to leave.
Because this happened and none of my posts from my main blog will be in tags for the unforeseeable future- The Mikoto essay has been delayed as well. So, if anyone was looking forward to that well sorry that's tough but I was looking forward to being able to message my fiancée posts and having all my Tumblr functions. A lot of times in life we don't get what we want, we get what we get.
Secondarily given the content I was posting concerning Milgram before this occurred, I believe if my blog was reported for spam that it was more than likely a Mu supporter who did it and they know who they are if they did. Now if I were a pettier person, I'd go report someone else's blog as spam right now to check if I'm right.
However, no one deserves to have this happen to them. Plus, I genuinely can't be bothered over something so actively petty and sad. Oh, Futa is bad; well at that point what does that make the person who did this?
Overall, I don't know what will happen with either of my blogs from this point forward. I just know that if this is the reason behind my current circumstances the Milgram fandom should be ashamed and start reflecting on the conduct it's willing to allow.
If this is how it treats people writing theories it dislikes, then maybe not saying anything is what's best for everyone.
This is probably the last time I will be speaking on this topic, and I apologize for any discomfort my volatile or crass response may cause to the fandom.
I truly believe this is what happened, but it is still my speculation, and it is considered a glitch. However, the fact that there are people who have experienced this glitch before and gotten it resolved just for it to occur again. Tumblr's vague statements regarding the matter; them only referring to the issue as a glitch and fixing it without elaborating further on what caused it to happen or what staff is doing to make sure it doesn't happen again.
One of the only concrete reasons I found for this occurrence offered by the user base was people stating that before it happened to them, they updated their app. Yet, in my case this is impossible. Because it not only occurred when I was on desktop but the app on my phone did not update that day. All this has led me to believe that the most logical conclusion at this time is that this glitch is a result of a malicious misuse of the report feature and the only tag I've been consistently active in has been the Milgram one.
Feel free to draw your own conclusions but if this is the case it sets a dangerous precedent for the future of this fandom space and many others. If this is the treatment I am receiving on my main blog, then I do not wish to and will not be creating more easily consumable fan content like edits for this fandom anymore.

hiii i'm new ( in a way ) to twitters rpc and idk how to ,,, exist here ??? like ,,, idk hiw to explain it 😭
hi my angel! do you mean twitter or tumblr? because i have exactly zero experience with twitter, but i'm also gonna be presumptuous as hell and assume it's tumblr! so here we go! i'm going to add a list of terms and definitions below the cut, so bear with me, and i may do a part 2 of this bc like. lads. ladies. legends. the tumblr rpc is terrifying and complicated for new friends. it's still terrifying and complicated for everyone, really, but we just adjusted! i digress:
literally everyone you will ever meet on this site has been where you are. it's a daunting experience to try and exist on a new site, especially if you have limited experience or contact with friends on this site, too! i knew one person who helped me adjust to the site, and after that, i was on my own!
i spent my first six months figuring out rules, icons, and my bio page for my character. that seems like a long time, but i started my blog, recklessly, during my first year of college! it took six months to figure out what rules i wanted for myself. did i have any triggers or squicks? did i have any banned fandoms or characters? i explained my limited activity, i added my age, my alias, my timezone, and basic things like that, but most of my inspiration actually came from reading other people's rules pages!
whenever i followed new people, i made sure to read their rules page first. now, nobody is going to expect you to remember EVERY SINGLE RULES PAGE you ever read! that's crazy! you might read a hundred different lists of rules and more, and you're human, so you will forget things! but the rules pages often include an age limit lately. so, "don't follow if you're under eighteen/twenty one/twenty five/etc." is a popular thing, you absolutely HAVE to obey that, and if they add more requests, like "don't follow if you're part of X fandom, or if you use these face claims, or if you write this character", or "don't follow me if you write with these blogs". you do need to follow those, but here's the good news: you make that decision the minute you see the blog. you don't need to remember those rules further down the line, aside from the banned blogs, and then you just look back over some rules. but i firmly believe that nobody should be taking offence over people forgetting some of the rules they read. i have 300 mutuals on my blog; you think i'm gonna remember 300 rules pages??? not a hope!
now. once you follow someone, and they follow you back, you are mutuals. you are NOT mutuals if you follow them, and they don't follow back, or if you don't follow them, but they follow you! similarly, you are NOT obligated to follow absolutely everyone who follows you! follow the people you find interesting and who have good vibes! don't let the rules pages scare you away; many people use a different tone of language in their rules pages to express the seriousness of following the rules, but beyond the rules page, they're actually perfectly lovely!
now! for things like icons and graphics? you don't actually need them. you don't need a promo, really, either. fortunately for us all, tumblr is entering an era where icons are just like, a nice extra bit. they don't really do anything. they're just pretty pictures of our characters to add a little something to our replies in threads. (again, my beloved, these definitions will be below the readmore thing, so don't stress yourself over the definitions!)
and now for the actual roleplay bit! so on this blog, and many other meme source blogs, we provide short and long lists of writing prompts for the rpc and writers to inspire some threads or passages of writing. in addition to this, there are starter calls! they're very useful, you just make a little post that says "like this post and i'll tag you in a starter!" and then if someone likes the post, you can write them a little starting point for a thread. so, my other blog will be used as an example: if @soulprompts liked a starter call, i would write them a little thing (it can be a one-liner or a paragraph or however long you like!) and tag them by using the @ button, and then their url. so in this case, my url is soulmemes, their url is soulprompts, so it's @soulprompts . like that! then they reply, and i reply, and the resulting series of replies will be called a thread!
now! my final addition here, before this post gets too long, is this: many people use features known as @xkit-extension-blog and @new-xkit-extension to adjust their experiences of the dash. you should download both of them, and you should download "EDITABLE REBLOGS" on the normal xkit, and "MUTUAL CHECKER" on the new xkit. it's very easy to do that! these just make it easier to trim your threads and to see who's following you back, respectively. i can add another post if you want me to, my angel, this is very rushed and i'm worried it's too much information at once!
GLOSSARY!
RULES PAGE: a page where you keep your rules for your blog! many people use google docs for this, and add a link to a pinned post at the top of their blog for ease of use. these rules are variable and depend on your preferences! they should include an age, an alias, maybe some pronouns, and any off-limits content. so "i don't want to write angst", or "don't interact with me if you write any characters from this fandom" or something like that. honestly, if you read other rules pages, they're very very useful in terms of guidance to making your own page!
BIO PAGE: a page where you provide information about your character! if your character is an original character, i.e. your own creation, not found in any public lore, then you need to provide information so people can educate themselves about your character! it doesn't need to be overly long; you can list the important things and add to it as you go along!
VERSES: so most, if not all characters have different verses. so if you take shrek as an example, some verses for shrek could be "before the first shrek movie" or "during the first shrek movie" and so on, so forth. many people get very creative with these, so you could have your character enter new fandoms! so, to keep using shrek as an example, shrek might have a marvel verse, where he's a mutant who turns down an offer to work with professor xavier and proceeds to tend to an onion farm in his swamp while more mutants turn to him for help. it can be wild and wacky or it can be serious, it doesn't matter, once you like the verses!
MUSE/MUN: you are a mun! a mun is the person behind the blog, the real life person who turns on their computer and logs into tumblr. i am also a mun! your muse is your character! so in this example, my muse is hypothetically shrek. some people write on multi-muse blogs, where they write more than one muse!
ORIGINAL CHARACTER/CANON CHARACTER: canon characters are characters who are established in publicly available lore. like shrek! shrek and fiona are canon characters! but if i decided to write another muse in the morning, shrek's sister, re-shrek-a, then she's considered an original character, because she is not established in the public lore of shrek. she is made up entirely by me, so she's my original creation, hence an original character, or OC.
ICONS/PROMOS/BANNERS/GRAPHICS: basically some people are insanely talented at photoshop and whatnot, and they make little images of their character's face claim or some banners to title their posts with. icons can be any size at all! icons and other graphics aren't necessary, if you don't want to make them, that's fine! some people run commission blogs where you can give them money and they'll make you icons and banners and promo graphics for you, if that's more up your alley!
STARTERS/PLOTS/SHIPS: a starter is the starting point of a thread, a plot is something that takes place between you and your writing partner where you decide what will happen in a thread together, and a ship is a relationship between two muses; it can be platonic, romantic, enemies, anything at all! starter calls are posts you make where people like the post and you can make those people some starters. plotting calls are the same, but if someone likes the post, you can chat to them to discuss some plots together! shipping calls are the same, but instead of starters and plots, people who like the post are free to discuss the possibility of a ship with your muse!
MEMES/PROMPTS: finally, memes and prompts are the same thing. they're lists of writing prompts to inspire threads with new friends! i write a bunch of them here and on @soulpromptsts ! there are many meme blogs, however, such as @leneemusing and @ohisms and @nightprompts to name just a few!

I have to go to sleep soon cause they have to go to work in three morning. So I'm gonna put my question here and if you don't like questions you can pretend I didn't. Ok? You seem nice and your a grown up so you know stuff. Do you think littles should be allowed to have their own tumblers alone? Cause I don't wanna share. But the grown ups say I can't have my own. Because it's not safe and cause they don't like logging in and out all the time
Hey - sorry for making you wait! I’ve been busy lately with work and school, so I’ve been waiting for some free time so I could think over this question.
Anyways... I personally think that littles interaction with social media / general Internet should be monitored. To some extent, of course. Ultimately, however, this is all subjective. What one system thinks is safe for their littles might be considered too lenient for another. Some systems outright ban littles from posting online!
So I feel that if a system decides that littles shouldn’t have their own blogs online, that’s a valid choice to make. Because it was made to benefit themselves and everyone else in the system.
However, I definitely see why you don’t want to share. You already have to share a body and mind with so many different people! I think most people would feel fed up or annoyed with that situation.
But the adults in your system are right - it isn’t safe for young children on the Internet to be left completely alone, especially for children in systems. Outside grown-ups may not always have the best intentions for you and your system, so it’s important to keep yourself safe online.
I would like to offer some suggestions that you and your system can consider, because you do deserve some place for yourself.
1. Have you ever thought about making a personal diary or journal? It can be a place where you can write down your thoughts, feelings, draw, share memories if you have them and even do some fun scrapbooking! Unlike social media, this’ll be completely private from others!
2. Sideblogs on Tumblr can be set as private (at least for desktop viewers), you can turn off popping up in Tumblr searches or google results and you can make all of your posts completely private or turn off replies / reblogs. Maybe you can have a short amount of time on this extra-private blog as long as one grown-up is there with you!
(Also, one thing we do for a blog meant for some of our younger members is that we’ll go through SFW tags and add a bunch of stuff we think they’ll like to the drafts, then we give the kiddos the draft as a makeshift “Dashboard” for them. So you don’t have to worry about NSFW jokes or adult media popping up for them!)
3. Make a cozy space outside of headspace if you can! Whether you make a blanket fort or make a special nook in the room for yourself, you can set an area for your own personal time. Enjoy spending time on what you like to do instead of fixating on social media!
- Mod Primarina.

Tumblr Now
://INITIATE_GREETING Alright so Tumblr. The Tumblr. That one. The one that bad people thought was the antichrist itself in 2015. In my and others' effort to have actual plan Bs in case of Twitter doing what we think Twitter is going to do we're coming here despite the memes of keeping us out.
I suppose that I should open by saying that I have a pet peeve for superhero and urban fantasy shows to such an extent that they are the bad guys in my self-insert lore.
Now that I have torpedoed my attempts to gain a following on this site I should say that I actually remember liking it here. Getting all the formatting stuff right is going to be a little adventure on my part but hey I did some coding stuff in Uni (I did not finish Uni). The only real reason I never made an account here is because, well, exactly the time I would have made an account happened to align with, you know, that time where a lot of the people I would have been following were banned for posting lewd stuff. I understand they have reigned that back and allow it if it's properly tagged- which it should be- but I'm gonna have to comb the fine print there before I push it.
I will confess that at this point my knowledge of the state of this site is vague to the extent that I'm mostly here to follow people who went here before other places, especially considering I seem to be the sole VTweeter that is not on Insta or Tiktok. In fact, as most of my output is art, I may end up frequenting art sites more often. In fact, I was met with decent traction on my backup acct immediately.
On DeviantArt.
Like a week before they did their shit.
Yeah it's probs Newgrounds now even if I'm not quite doing numbers there yet. But I'm likely to crosspost everywhere when possible. This may end up partially replacing my current Wix blog if I can get it to display info in the encyclopedic format I want for the sake of loreposting.
There'll be a better intro later- this is me getting my bearings and asking for help with that from friends. Tumblr is my most likely outright replacement for Twitter once I learn due to it having a similar capacity for being able to scream into the void and have your friends say "lol" beneath it, even if at a glance Newgrounds is my more likely portfolio site and Wix is gonna be where a lot of long-form posts end up. Will twitter collapse? Well one of my friends, who is a mushroom, she is cool, thinks not- that the businesses that rely on Twitter will be waiting like vultures to pick it up if Elon steps down. This makes sense- the brands all find value in Twitter because it's popular. It's a feedback loop they exploit for outreach.
But Elon does not make sense.
Why did he launch a car into space? It was because it was an easy way to get haha funny internet points. Why did he buy Twitter? And why might he, I believe to be in the cards, destroy Twitter, out of spite, at his own loss?
It's not like I'm sitting here weeping, the follower grind I had to where I'm at aside. Like I'm at 282 last I checked, that's pretty nice, and I hope my regulars are checking my new sites. I don't think Twitter was some sacred grounds as a lot of strawmen are painted. It was just convenient and cool people are there. Were there. Half expecting it to be gone when I tab back over just out of sheer jinxing lol. I really should have done all this earlier. Got pretty complacent with the idea that the situation had stabilized. Alas, Society.
I am, as with all sites I am spreading my high-aspect-ratio membranous wings into, eager to check this out and meet new people. I just hope I don't have to start from zero.

Note
https://www.tumblr.com/findroleplay/717692107061624832 - i don’t want to start anything but i’m registered blind and this screenshot format personally doesn’t work on my screen reader. can it be a general accessibility rule that people just copy and paste their ads? i know it’s not harming everyone and i’m shouting into the void but it just seems like a two second job for people to do :/
(I'll be honest, I'm on mobile and I have no idea how to open this link at all. I tap and tap on it but nothing happens and I can't even copy and paste to use in a browser. Since I just posted a screenshot a few minutes ago I assume you're talking about that.)
I made this blog with the intention of keeping this as rule-free as possible. Not simply because I wanted to give people a place where they could look for content that may not be allowed elsewhere, though it's part of the reason it has nothing to do with this, but for other two reasons. The first is that I find Tumblr to be different from heavily-moderated spaces like Reddit (or God, Amino), the only problem is that the content is much harder to find. With this in mind, I wanted to make a blog that makes it easier to people to find RP ads, but I didn't want to run it giving it a direction and moderating it like a Reddit mod. I just wanted to give people a place where to post what they would normally post on their blog but where many roleplayers would gather and hopefully would gain more traction. I want them to be able to just hit send without having to doublecheck the rules, just like they would on the general tag. So, just like it wouldn't feel right to message individual blogs and ask them to use a certain format, I'm a bit hesitant to do on here too. The second reason I made this blog is that many others, at least at the time I made this blog, were run as if all the content posted, with no exceptions, had to be a reflection of what the mod - and with time, of the followers that interacted because it allowed/banned certain things - wanted to see and nothing more. They had so many rules it was rather suffocating. With the exception of things that I won't post because they would put the blog in danger of breaking Tumblr's guidelines (for example, if you send an ask with a NSFW picture as decoration), or rules I set to keep the blog itself running (like avoiding spamming and cluttering) I wasn't planning on setting any rules at all. If I don't 'blacklist' anything from the kind of content that can be posted it's easier to stand my ground when people demand I don't allow minors, or rpf, incest and then start to nitpick about what constitutes incest to begin with until they have me ban many subjects - that maybe they have a valid reason for not wanting to see, like trauma. I don't want to start a slippery slope of setting reasonable rules that end up being a chain of absurd ones. Clearly, all of this caters mostly to people who send the asks, not people on the other side. All these good talking points mean jack to you if you can't see the asks, they may as well not be there at all so it doesn't make any difference. And I realize that. That's why I'm thinking of something else that doesn't put rules on people who post but at the same time doesn't keep them inaccessible for people with screen readers. Maybe writing a TLDR in the description of the image when I tag would suffice? Although this would mean that the ask could sit in the inbox for a while until I have time to do the extra writing, and I'm not sure it can be done on mobile. For now I'm not gonna change the rules, but I'll take this into account and think of a way to have it both ways - on this note, I also accept suggestions if anyone has some.

So! With all the tag bans and everything on iOS, there's been some posts going around encouraging people to switch to android next time they get a new phone. What I've noticed in the notes is some people being concerned about switching because of apple phones having certain accessibility features. We've never had one so I can't say but our phone has some really good accessibility features so I wanted to make a post about it for really anyone who might be apprehensive to switch phones because of accessibility features.
A disclaimer, of course, that not all phones will have what ours does. We have a pixel phone, specifically a 4A, so this is just what we have and obviously isn't universal to all phones.
As well, we haven't personally used all these features and thus can't verify how well they work but we have used a few and I'll tell you which and how I feel about them as we go along!
Okay, let's get started!
I'm gonna start with the things we use and then go on from there and tell you everything else the accessibility portion of settings has to offer.
The main two things we use are our phones sound amplifier and auto caption feature!
Auto captions are exactly what the name says. It shows up as a little black box that you can place wherever you want and it'll automatically transcribe any audio it detects. It can be kind of fiddly but it's really useful because it works for pretty much anything? Personally I usually use it when someone posts a video or something without a transcript on Tumblr or when I'm annoyed with YouTube auto captions but it should work anywhere.
The sound amplifier is something we always have on. It only works with headphones but it is really really nice. You can adjust the settings separately for each side which we really like because our hearing is worse in one ear than the other. Not by a lot much so we still need it pretty high but it's enough to be really annoying when things aren't balanced, you know?
Things we haven't used but are similar!
You can change the audio balance outside of the amplifier if that's not something you need/want to use but you still need/want to change how loud something is for one ear vs the other.
There's something called real time text for phone calls? I'm not 100% sure how to describe it because we haven't used it but it seems to be something that allows you to type with people in phone calls. What you type or someone else types is, like the name implies, visible to everyone on the call while you're typing so it's a little different to texting. Something that caught my eye in the description is that it's useable for emergency service numbers as well which is really really great because you can't message some of them/it might not get attention until it's too late
That's all for the audio section of accessibility features on our phone so next I'm gonna talk about screen readers and on screen text
There are two screen reader options from what we can tell.
One is select to speak which has you select a particular thing on screen that it'll read out.
The other is talk back which is a lot more complicated? I'm not sure how to properly explain but it seems like it will just read out everything rather than needing you to select a particular section.
Below those two there's a little part for the settings on the text to speech where you can change the pitch and speed.
That's all there is for screen readers but there are still more things I want to point out.
You can change both the font size and display size on the phone.
There's also color correction and inversion! Basically you can change how difficult colors appear on screen!
There's an accessibility menu which will give you different shortcuts to access certain features. I haven't tried this out myself yet but I am planning on it at some point so I'll let you know how that goes if you'd like!
There's also something called switch access which seems to be a similar way to control features on the phone more easily
A few more things it has!
Navigation controls! Basically it allows you to change between swiping to navigate and using buttons! Personally the buttons are way easier for me but for someone else swiping might be better!
There's a few I don't really understand at all but! The last one I can explain changes kind of how you're alerted to things? Basically you can change between audio for calls, notifications and touch feedback I think is the term or vibration for those or both!
Hopefully all that makes sense? I just wanted to put that out there because I hadn't seen anyone else talk about it yet

Woop-de-doo, it's Lord Scarlet stuff part 2
This was a post I planned on making WAY sooner, but I accidentally lost the original draft so I didn't even bother to try doing it gain until recently. And just now something happened that changed everything; and I mean what both DID and DIDN'T automatically give me the right to post this. I almost deleted my first post at that, and here's why:
In the first post, I mentioned that when I initially found out Vic was lying to me, I was quiet about it and just stopped talking to her out of fear, and then when I asked for help on what to do I was told to leave without a word. I don't think that was entirely the right thing to do in the long run, because it may have been the easiest way out but I'm better off with proper closure.
And the thoughts she left me scarred with never left my head. Time and time again, I'd find myself crying myself to sleep again at the thought of Brock forced to hide romantic feelings for Master Frown and not know who he was anymore while Frown was left unaware and in love with someone else, even if it wasn't Lord Scarlet.
And the pain sometimes came with a want to confront Vic one last time and open up to her about how I wasn't blind anymore, and how much she really hurt me. But I, again, wass scared she wouldn't care and would cut me off.
So when the pain got worse, I did what any coward would do: tell everyone else about my pain.
Now I DID tell friends of mine other than the Unikitty Amino staff about what happened, and they were all sympathetic and understanding about it. But then I told almost everyone, and then made my vent post on here (as well as Wattpad). As much as I wouldn't want to call them call out posts, they might as well have been. I didn't want people to harass Vic and make her mad...but at the same time I kinda did. I was too scared to face her that I was hoping that someone would do it for me. I even tagged accounts of Vic's. Not cool of me at all.
Now the Tumblr and Wattpad posts got me pretty much more of the same: sympathy, and acceptance that I had moved on. No one came after Vic but we could still agree that none of her actions were justified (I even got @careeningle's attention...sorry about the aneurysm)
Now comes the next important thing that happened, because I mentioned @friffinx kinda being responsible for me getting back to the Lord Scarlet Amino to write the message that I did. In it, I said that after I sent the message I did I would leave the Amino again & for good.
Well...I lied. I still checked in every day for the same reason I started venting: I kinda wanted Vic to see my message. Even if she'd ban me, I wanted to see if she'd ever notice my message. And that would've been the end of it if it wasn't for Brook.
I briefly mentioned Brook in the last post. She was another OC of Vic's, and was exactly to Brock what Lord Scarlet was to Master Frown; a carbon copy love interest. Except Lord Scarlet was far more developed and drawn & written about more. Brook didn't even really have a distinct personality, she was a girl Brock and that was it. But with reptilian overlord eyes. (To be fair, Vic drew Brock like that sometimes too)
(I didn't include Vic's art unless it was in chat bgs or whatever in the last post, but for the sake of referencing/proving a point, this is what Brook looks like)
Tumblr media
No one really paid attention to her for the longest time. She was there in the fanfics because according to Vic, "Scarlet needed a friend." And like I said in the first post, Brook wasn't said to be canon so I never found a reason to really care for her. Plus I can only recall someone giving Vic fanart with her, and it was with Scarlet (@plastic-papercuts made it, go follow her she's gr8).
But then one day, for some reason, something in me clicked. I actually thought of a story idea for her. Somehow this bland cutout of a character had potential in my eyes, and I weirdly started liking her because of it. She suddenly felt...more real. I got pretty invested in my idea and newfound interpretation of Brook, and describing it would make this post way longer than it is so if anyone asks about it, I'll probably make a whole other post about it.
Anyway, I came up with a little plan: draw out this idea in the form of a comic and post it to the Lord Scarlet Amino. And see if Vic gets suspicious and checks out my profile and then maybe bans me. It felt a bit better than total silence and she'd probably see that someone gave a crap about Brook after all.
So I started a new chat called "It's Brook" to share my progress with the other members of the Amino, which there weren't too many of but we had fun in it. It was basically me, @friffinx , @soapycocacola, @plastic-papercuts, and a few others who aren't on Tumblr (or at least don't think are) chatting about how awful Vic was and calling out her lazy art tactics like tracing and using assets/clips right from the show. And of course me sharing the comic progress I was making. Again, this doesn't make anything we did right but it felt good getting everything off our chests. We were like a secret rebellion against an absentee dictator. One time Vic came online as we were chatting and even viewed my profile, but nothing happened. And it stayed that way until I opened Amino up one morning. For those of you who don't have it, the menu shows all the communities you're in when you open the app, and all of mine were there except for the Lord Scarlet Amino. I assumed I must've been banned overnight. But I wasn't banned from Vic's other Amino so I commented on her wall on that one. For Vic's sake, I won't show how the conversation went (and I'll explain why at the end) but here's how it went:
Me: Did you ban me from the LS Amino?
Her: There was drama in one of the chat rooms and I'm not having it. I didn't want to do it and it's not a big deal It's just an amino and you're still on this one AM I RIGHT?
Me: Yes, but I assume you read my updated bio. As I hoped you would.
Her: Nope.
Me: Oh. But you know what? Ban me from here too for all I care, I feel like you deserve to know why I left and came back: *insert me finally telling her how I know she lied, that she hurt me, and what I did was wrong here*
Her: Lol ok be that person but keep in mind that I'm one of those people that doesn't gibe a fuck lol
And then she banned me from that Amino too before I could type and submit a fitting farewell reply.
At least I finally got all the built-up emotional pain out of me, but it did help me realize something important: we never really were friends. I wanted more of her content despite all her red flags as a person so I tried enduring them, thinking it'd be worth it, and she only kinda cared about me when I was being a yes man. She never kept any promises and didn't respect me the same way I did her. So I could at least feel confident knowing she most likely didn't care at all when I first left.
@friffinx and the others didn't get banned, though, and Friff even started another chat on the LS Amino called "It's Brook 2" where they talked more about Vic being a terrible person. And it didn't take long for her to shut that chat down too and ban everyone from it that time. Friff sent me screenshots of what happened next (which again, I'm not gonna show), where Vic basically had a meltdown. She changed her username to "Little Miss Guillotine", and made a post about her being "finished with the bushit". In it, she announced that she didn't even like Unikitty! anymore but was still gonna keep/use Lord Scarlet because she wanted to. The part that made my blood almost boil wasn't her views on the show, she's free to have her opinion and I couldn't care less about it. What DID was that she acknowledged that she lied the whole time because "she didn't care anymore" and said that it was "our faults for believing it in the first place" and that "we needed to grow up"/"stop brining it up"
Ooooh boy, victim blaming, my favortie...
Since then she changed the Lord Scarlet Amino's theme to make it about The Penguins of Madagacar (again, fine with me). Either way she was still a narcissist and I thought she'd, sadly, likely never change. And my friends and I all thought that was the end of it.
Until a few hours ago...
I was browsing the Unikitty Amino and saw a new member named BlueCat. Didn't think anything else of it until the user PMed me. And this is what happened:
Tumblr media
I didn't know what to think other than "I thought this day would never come", I was that shaken. This was so left field-ish that what else could I do but believe her? It didn't even seem suspicious or like she was trying to be a suck up, that wasn't Vic at all.
But the one thing I knew I had to do was ban her because even if she meant well and did it for the right(?) reasons, but I still asked if I should in the staff chat. @girly-glorious (also amazing so pls check her out :D) told me that yes, it was ban evasion so since I'm a leader too now I could to it on my own. But I knew I had to message Vic first and Girly told me to be careful, so this is what I sent:
Tumblr media
And then I banned her, the end (not really)
Now I don't understand how or why this sudden behavior change happened but I don't know if I should question it in case it's personal. But again, I at least want to believe that she's really being genuine and had a change of heart because never in a million years could I imagine her being this mature. Again, she didn't demand that I forgive me or probably even expect me to. But the message still does leave me feeling sorry for her.
Now I thought that was the real end of it until I see the Penguins of Madagascar/old Lord Scarlet Amino on my sideboard.
She unbanned me.
Tumblr media
Now I don't know where we'll go from here, if anywhere. I'm not too sure if I can really let my guard down around someone who hurt me so badly just in case she does it again. So I may not talk to her again, but if she really asks something from me, I might try and build up courage to ask her more about how she came to apologizing to me. Plus she followed me on Wattpad too.
But this is why I didn't show our conversation right before my ban or her "f.u." posts. Because I don't want people seeing more of Vic's past behavior and possibly embarrassing her about it if she ever sees this. But that's kinda why I felt like it was 100% necessary to finally make a sequel post in the end; I'm hoping people at least acknowledge Vic has changed and don't keep thinking about based on what I shared out of attempts to gain sympathy like a crybaby.
So before I go: PLEASE, DON'T GO AFTER OR HARASS VIC. I KNOW YOU PROBABLY WON'T, BUT THIS IS SERIOUS. ALL THE PROBLEMATIC LORD SCARLET DRAMA IS STUFF OF THE PAST AND NEITHER OF US WANT TO KEEP LOOKING BACK ON IT.
I hope this helps whoever's reading as much as it did me.

okay so funny story
Today was a horribly shitty and depressing day
But then I get an SD Gundam kit in the mail, and here's the thing: I love SD Gundam kits. Cute little chibi robots always make me smile.
So I figure, okay, I'll bulid it. It won't take long. Then I open it and take out the parts, and I'm assembling it, wondering "huh, this seems pretty bare bones, pretty familiar, like I've built it before"
When I get to the last frame, and see a spring, and some spare parts, I'm like "Oh for fuck's sake"
I built a version of this kit back in high school--a kit from 1988
This kit is from 1999 THEY LITERALLY RERELEASED THE OLD KIT WITH A NEW CREST AND BACKPACK AND AK-47 and I showed it to my Gundam-loving friend and he's howling
and I'm like "huh how could this have happened"
and I check the gunpla wiki
ALL OF 1999's SD KITS WERE FROM 1986-1992
RIGHT DOWN TO THE MINI BB GUNS.
here's the box art. note that the backpack is purple.

the amount of callouts on this site over the pettiest bullshit is proof y’all never learned jack shit from the Satanic Panic.
Let me give you a short lecture as a horror fan.
Back in the 80s, the entire US got whipped up into a frenzy (and to an extent, in other countries too) about mass-murdering satanists. Who were apparently everywhere! It was like QAnon, but if everyone took it seriously.
Play D&D? Satan. Watch Saturday cartoons? Satan. Horror movies? Rock Music? ANYTHING NOT APPROVED BY THE PURITY POLICE? SATAN.
And you know who was driving all this shit? Terfs. Homophobes. Con men looking to make a buck. They shoved themselves into every discussion to try to get people to turn on whatever they didn’t like by making the wildest fucking accusations, all while no one was looking at their ranks (which turned out to have, shock of all shocks, a whole slew of pedos and abusers.)
So here I’m seeing people starting shit over not liking a fucking fictional character or an unpopular ship and READING ENTIRE FUCKING BLOG ARCHIVES FOR DIRT TO JUSTIFY SOME SALEM BULLSHIT.
Like no. Fuck you. Go outside and deepthroat some fucking grass. Just do it. Dee Snider didn’t insinuate Tipper Gore was into kinky shit in front of Congress when she was trying to get Twisted Sister banned for y’all to just start going “I saw Goody Proctor not simping for tumblr sexyman/girlboss #234324.”
THINK FOR YOURSELVES.
(Now obviously I’m not talking about R. Kellys and Weinsteins of the world. BUT YOU AIN’T GONNA FIND THAT IN A PERSON JUST BECAUSE THEY SAID YOUR WAIFU WAS SHIT.)
