Pan Am Flight 103 was a flight of a passenger airliner operated by Pan American World Airways (Pan Am) that exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, on December 21, 1988, after a bomb was detonated. Following a three-year joint investigation by Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), arrest warrants were issued for two Libyan nationals in November 1991. In 1999, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi handed over the two men for trial at Camp Zeist, the Netherlands, after protracted negotiations and UN sanctions.
In the year 2001, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, a Libyan intelligence officer, was jailed for life after being found guilty of 270 counts of murder in direct connection with the bombing.

Megrahi was found guilty of playing a central role in the bombing
In August 2009, he was released by the Scottish government on compassionate grounds after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. He died in May 2012 as the only person to be convicted for the attack.

@castlemaine123 Wait until you see “Lockerbie” with Colin Firth which began filming last February in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
@castlemaine123 Yep! ! The actors are in interesting projects. The wait for Outlander 7.2 and season 8 is losing interest. BOMB's new actors will surprise, showing that SH is not the only Scottish actor in Scotland as his fans think. He may continue to make profits in his new career as a door-to-door alcohol salesman and posing as a barman.

AMERICAN ASSASSIN (2017)
Starring Dylan O'Brien, Michael Keaton, Taylor Kitsch, Saana Lathan, Scott Adkins, David Suchet, Shiva Negar, Sydney White, Göksun Çam, Kamil Lemieszewski, Kiera Bell, Navid Negahban, Evie Wray, Chris Webster, Trevor White, Andrew Pleavin, Michael Wildman, Alaa Safi, Joseph Long, Bentley Kalu, Khalid Laith and Joost Janssen.
Screenplay by Stephen Schiff & Michael Finch and Edward Zwick & Marshall Herskovitz.
Directed by Michael Cuesta.
Distributed by CBS Films. 105 minutes. Rated R.
Since his comeback a few years ago with Birdman, Michael Keaton has been on one hell of a winning streak. He’s made one good film after another, following his Oscar-nominated Birdman role with another Oscar-nominee in Spotlight, then the underrated Ray Kroc bio-film The Founder. Just this summer, he played the most interesting and nuanced comic supervillain in years in Spider-Man: Homecoming. He even did a voice in the hit animated film Minions.
He was due a clunker.
American Assassin is that clunker, though this is through no fault of Keaton. In fact, Keaton is pretty much the main reason you would have to watch this over-busy, over-violent, muddled action film. The movie is not very good, but Michael Keaton is very good in it. His character is pretty much the one interesting character in the film, and that is due in great part to Keaton’s natural charisma. He takes a bad part and makes it better through sheer force of personality. And because he is there, the movie seems stronger than it really is.
Not that Keaton is the main character, sadly. He is just a supporting player in this filmed video-game. Starring in maximum-glare mode is the normally reliable Dylan O’Brien, his usual charisma on low, mumbling through millions of rounds of submachine-gun fire.
American Assassin is a spy drama, though its espionage plot makes little or no sense. The film starts when a group of heavily armed mercenaries, led by Taylor Kitsch, inexplicably massacre a bunch of tourists on a luxury beach resort. One of the few survivors was former soldier Mitch Rapp (O’Brien), who of course had just proposed to his gorgeous girlfriend moments before she was mowed down by dozens of rounds of artillery.
Flash forward a few years, where Rapp has become a jaded vigilante mercenary, trying to go undercover in the group that killed his fiancée. When he is captured by the head of military intelligence (Sanaa Lathan) and Rapp’s loose cannon former CO (Keaton), they all make a tense alliance to bring down the terrorist group.
What happens next? Beats the shit out of me. Lots of car chases, thousands of rounds of artillery are shot, there are lots of explosions and many, many people die. There is something of a story to keep the carnage going, but not really. It’s all just an excuse to kill lots and lots of people.
Some people will undoubtedly find American Assassin action-packed and stimulating. I found it deadening and mind-numbing, like spending two hours passively watching someone else play a video game.
Michael Keaton deserves a lot better. And honestly, so does Dylan O’Brien.

King Abdullah II entrusts Rifai with chairing Royal Committee to Modernise Political System
10 June 2021
King Abdullah II sent a letter to Samir Rifai, entrusting him with chairing the Royal Committee to Modernise the Political System. The committee’s mission will be to put forward new draft election and political parties laws; look into the necessary constitutional amendments connected to the two laws and the mechanisms of parliamentary work; and provide recommendations on developing legislation regulating local administration, expanding participation in decision-making, and creating a political and legislative environment conducive to the active engagement of youth and women in public life. The committee is composed of 92 members from diverse political, ideological, and sectoral backgrounds. (Source: RHCJO) Following is the English translation of the letter:
“In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful, Your Excellency Samir Rifai, Peace, God's mercy and blessings be upon you, I convey to you my greetings and best wishes of success, having known you for many years as a Jordanian devoted to the homeland, who has worked diligently in various positions and devotedly shouldered the responsibility, out of a belief that Jordan’s interest is your one purpose and compass. Today, with Jordan on the threshold of a new phase of progress and modernisation, I hereby entrust you with chairing the Royal Committee to Modernise the Political System. Its mission will be to put forward new draft election and political parties laws; look into the necessary constitutional amendments connected to the two laws and the mechanisms of parliamentary work; and provide recommendations on developing legislation regulating local administration, expanding participation in decision-making, and creating a political and legislative environment conducive to the active engagement of youth and women in public life. Your Excellency, Modernisation and development are characteristics of active states and peoples, and our dear Jordanian people have always been at the forefront of those seeking progress and reform. I am proud of what our nation has achieved over its long history, and I feel duty-bound to continue the process of development to guarantee Jordanians’ right to engage in a parliamentary and political life that enhances their democracy and way of life and contributes to fulfilling their aspirations, as our state embarks on its second centennial. We are determined to bring about a qualitative leap in political and parliamentary life, in a manner that guarantees the objectives and aspirations for the future. We expect you to come up with a legislative framework to set the grounds for effective partisan life capable of persuading voters with its platforms, leading to a parliament built on platform-based blocs and currents, and establishing for an advanced phase in the way the executive branch exercises its responsibilities, in accordance with the Jordanian Constitution. It is of importance to us that your honourable committee pay attention to the role of youth and explore means of motivating their engagement in partisan and parliamentary life, while empowering women’s active engagement and promoting the values of good citizenship—in terms of rights, duties, freedoms guaranteed by legislation, and the full adherence to the rule of law. Here, I find it necessary to underscore that the seven discussion papers I put forth for public debate years ago, and the attention they received, could guide your efforts and contribute to mapping out the future of our country and people. I guarantee before all Jordanians that my government will adopt the outcomes of the committee’s work, and will submit them to Parliament immediately without any interventions or attempts to alter or influence them. Your responsibility today entails putting forward consensually agreed on draft laws that guarantee gradual transition into the full realisation of future goals and the fair representation of citizens across the nation, while serving citizens in current times and foreseeing developments in their lives and their future. Today, we take our first step into the state’s second centennial, and we want our national history to record that it started with a dedicated, earnest national effort towards further development and progress. Your Excellency, I am awaiting the outcome of your work, which shall include the recommendations and proposed draft laws, provided that their date of submission would precede the convening of the next ordinary session of Parliament. We have selected Your Excellency to chair the Royal Committee to Modernise the Political System that shall include the following members: 1. Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs 2.
