congrats netflix for giving another reason for audiences to never become invested in their shows bc we know they'll 100% get cancelled before being finished.

cancelling good shows is now netflix's model. the writers saw this coming (throwing so much of kaz's backstory into S2, completely dropping slow burn wylan/jesper, etc) - and the show suffered for it!

im glad to have gotten my scraps even though i didn't love how rushed it was. what i really hate is that rushing it WAS ACTUALLY THE RIGHT CALL by the writers bc netflix did fucking cancel it!

tv is a fantastic storytelling medium but netflix has really butchered it and is starting to dance on its grave. we've already seen the effects of the SoB writers suspecting that netflix will cancel them - that's only going to become an even bigger fear impacting the work of writers. why bother setting up plotlines that will take several seasons to resolve when you know you'll get cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons?

sometimes cancelling something is the right call (e.g. dont think any1 cried over the 2nd half of the last Divergent movie being cancelled). sometimes a show genuinely sucks & doesnt have an audience.

but that WAS NOT THE CASE here. it's such a fucking joke. when will streaming services learn to respect the books that they're adapting and the hard work that cast, crew, writers, producers, etc put in to the adaptation? you'd think they'd have learnt after seeing HBO's dumpster fire with the end of Game of Thrones...

but nah. they're just gonna continue buying incredible IPs & obliterating them for some quick attention & subscribers. fantastic.

Looking for a Six of Crows/Shadow and Bone roleplay. A few things to bear in mind if you’re interested. I want to characters to be the age they are in Six of Crows books, e.g. Kaz would be 17-18 and Inej 16. I would be the one playing Kaz and I am mostly looking for Kanej ship wise: though I am open to found something platonic between Kaz and the other crows. The other thing to bear in mind I would be playing Kaz as Ace, that isn’t to say I am not open to Romance and I do have a plot:

Kaz finds himself falling for Inej but tries to deny it at first. He is pretty sure he liked her romantically, or is starting to, though it takes him a lot of courage for him to eventually admit his feelings towards her, though eventually he does and the two start dating. Only After several near-death encounters, do they both gradually acknowledge their feelings for one another, inching closer and closer to a romantic relationship.

Also looking for Rp partners for a Maze Runner rp. I would play Newt, I won’t do BxG pairings with him unless it’s solely platonic, I only do BxB ship rps with the character. I am looking mostly for Newtmas for this idea, though I prefer my partner to play Thomas for that ship. I do have a list of headcannons I am working on which I send to rp partners and also I do work from both book and film; I actually have an Au idea for after the events of Death Cure, which is kind of like if Newt ended up surviving, If you’re interested my Pms should be open. I am still working on some information for the way I prefer to portray so I don’t have that at the moment but I do have a start to my head-cannons list. I do have a plot point taken from the films of Scorch Trials and Death Cure I can explain to anyone who is interested.

I am semi-lit to advanced lit but I’m have a higher preference for lit to advanced to advanced lie because I do better with detail. The more detail the easier I find it to reply, and the less detail it he more I struggle to reply. My only real triggers are the death of my character, I don’t mind near death especially if it’s a plot point in the book or tv show or film in question etc. though. I allow Oc’s but more comfortable with CCxCC. If Interested comment here.

- HOBBIES: Writing, reading, watching a lot of TV and movies (sometimes for work, sometimes not), cosplay and fan conventions, fashion (especially luxury accessories and classic cuts and patterns. - LAST FILM / SHOW: I'm currently watching Only Murders in the Building with my husband and we're loving it! A few of my family members grew up and/or lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan so seeing all of the familiar architecture is entertaining. As well as the murders, the character personalities, etc. I still don't believe Steve Martin and Martin Short's characters are heterosexual in this show and it should be 'Selena Gomez and her two gay adoptive uncles' but I digress.

- RECENT READS: I finished House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Maas at the very beginning of February and I've had a book hangover since then! Not that I was 100% satisfied with the ending of Crescent City but it's been hard to get into something new. I've started book 1 in the Crowns of Nyaxia series, The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent, but I haven't managed to finish it or its sequel yet. After that, I'll probably go back to finishing the Letters of Enchantment duology by Rebecca Ross, The Cruel Prince series by Holly Black, or the Hades and Persephone saga by Scarlett St. Clair. I'm tempted to finally dive into some Leigh Bardugo works, some V.E. Schwab, or start Katee Robert's Neon Gods series.

I have 166 books on my Kindle and I've finished maybe 50 of those so far, if it's any indication on how long my TBR list is. And I haven't even mentioned my historical, contemporary, and/or gothic romance picks on that list...

I really love books, y'all.

- STORY BEHIND URL: It's how Sonia wants to be seen by everyone she meets.

- FUN FACT ABOUT ME: I got married in November 2022 but I'm finally taking my honeymoon next month in April 2024. My job takes most of the blame for this, but I'm very close to securing a promotion soon (which means I'll be able to assign some of my work to others!).

That said, a lot of April will be a long hiatus from this blog. I'll be coming back to write when I've returned, but leading up to the trip, two weeks on the trip, and coming back and catching up with everything means much of April will be queued aesthetic posts around here.

That said, I'm so ready for London, Paris, and Disneyland Paris!

fun fact about me: You know when teachers use this as an ice breaker in high school? I was the reason why my teachers stopped using this because in the 8th grade, my teacher asked this, and I decided to answer with "I have a dead organ inside of me." Which is true, I'm a t1 diabetic so my pancreas is essentially dead, but hearing that from a 14 year old in a class of 20 was not on her bingo card, I'm afraid. I did this again in my freshman year of college & ended up giving a 15 minute Q&A about diabetes.

During the week depending on the week I have a SINGLE DAY OFF (due to other responsibilities and obligations), and those days I have little capacity to get anything done when it comes to WRITING / PRODUCTIVITY.

DASH THINGS : I like my dash to clear of SPAM, you can post what you want but it's my decision whether or not I want to see it. Another thing, I will likely unfollow if you post EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS NUDE OR PORNOGRAPHIC IMAGES/GIFS. I'm all for nsfw content to a degree, but content like that I really don't care for it on a writing platform. I write to WRITE, if it's concealed in links that's fine, but out in the open, I have to pass. This doesn't mean I have an issue with some, but if I'm seeing this all the time, and that's all I'm seeing from you, I will soft block.

DISCUSSIONS : I will be honest while I need discussions to write they can intimidate me, sometimes I question my creativity. Interactions ooc give me anxiety, quite a double edge sword. So if we are unable to plot I do love memes, so please send one if any catches your eye!

INTOLERANCES : Roleplay is my escape from reality, SO PETTINESS, DRAMA OR HATE. WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. I really don't want to see it.. TAG 9 PEOPLE YOU WANT TO KNOW BETTER

favourite colour(s): black, purple, dark blue, hunter green

favourite flavour(s): Sweet. I love sweet things.

favourite genre(s): fantasy, romance, angsty things... Love when the romance is more a subplot though... but definitely fantasy. Not too big on sci-fi, because of the science part of it, and I do lean more towards a love of romantasy ;)

favourite movie(s): Um... I don't really know? Disney movies. Star Wars. Titanic is one I can watch all the time, no problem. Harry Potter movies are another that I can just... put on and enjoy for any reason. Oh and Hunger Games.

favourite series: TV series? Book series? What are we talking about? If it's TV... I was a huge SPN fan for a long time. Also The Originals. TVD and Legacies was... okay, but not comparable to Originals. I'm really enjoying catching up on Grey's Anatomy, and watching Yellowstone. Wednesday was also a fun one, and House of the Dragon gave me what I loved about GOT--Targaryens and dragons. hah. And of course, Shadow and Bone.

If it's about a book series you want to know... ACOTAR, Grishaverse, FBAA world are probably my top ones right now. I'm enjoying others, a few standalone things, but I do love the Mortal Instruments and all of those books. I'm just... very behind on them oops.

favourite music: Taylor Swift probably gets the most use, but I generally like country (think 90s-2000s country, like when I was growing up) mostly for the story telling of it. Rock is good, too, but I'm a little more picky there. Classic rock you can't go wrong with hah (and I blame SPN for a good chunk of that, not to mention my dad).

last song: Whatever was playing at the end of s2e5 of Yellowstone in the credits, if I'm being specific. I had my Alexa shuffling "top country" earlier this morning. That was the last of it, but I couldn't tell you what the song itself was.

last series: TV series? Yellowstone. Book series? (that I read or finished?) Read (because I still have more to go) would be the Never After series from Emily McIntire. Finished would probably be up-to-date on FBAA (just not the latest prequel one, ALITF).

last movie: I honestly don't know. I don't watch many movies... Probably Star Wars when it was on TV.

currently reading: Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo. Will probably also start Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco soon. And when I only have my phone on me, not an actual book, I'm reading Glint by Raven Kennedy.

currently watching: Right now? Yellowstone.

currently working on: Trying to find a new job, trying to awaken and figure out my characters for my novel(s), trying to get the muse cooperating on my RP blogs to write them and work on drafts...

Whee ok let me try and catch up on a few things, I’ve been busy. Well. Moreso than usual? I feel like I’ve barely had a breath to myself the last few weeks!

But @keldae hit me up for WIPS a little bit ago back there and I’m not sure I have too much to show since last time I was tagged but lemme see what I can scrounge up in my scribble folders hahaha.

As usual, lots of stuff on the go, at varying stages in the process! A couple of these are gonna take me a good long while but some hopefully will see the light of day in the not too distant future!

fav color: This question shouldn’t be as hard to answer as it is. I love colours. I love associations that colours have. I like collections of colours but I couldn’t tell you if prefer an autumn spread or a winter mountainside or the sparkling bioluminescent blues and greens or perfect pink and yellow blossoms. I like having lots of colours around me. (I love the colour of the sky.)

currently reading: Currently picking my way through Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo, and paused in a re-read of long time favourite Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb while I wait for my reading buddy to pick it back up eeheehee.

last song: I pick up my phone to check. Incriminatingly, it offers (this was on my playlist I swear, I don’t just listen to the soundtrack on loop):

last movie: last one worth mentioning was The Sea Beast on Netflix. Enjoyed it far more than I expected it to, I wish more of the recent animated films were as earnest and heartfelt as this one was.

sweet/spicy/savory: If you know Ahuska then you also know me. I mean food in general is just always very good and every flavour profile has its time and place, but if I was forced to pick an allegiance... just gimme that donut and pour a heap of sugar into my coffee okay?

currently working on: hahaha all those drawings up there and then some. Also poking at a thing that I hope I can get together enough to reveal shortly. Also my beloved RPs in perpetuum, which surely count as a ‘working on’. I have half a dozen short story/ask responses that I’m working on to the extent that I sorta know what I want to write if I ever sit down and actually get the words out?
